My thoughts: 📕 So the last version of this I read was the 2023 version, which I didn't review, I did review the 2022 version. The 2025 version has been on hold for over a year, I was primarily reading it because I'm clearing my suspended titles and I wanted to read it before 2026 is available. Then I realized duh, and got the 2026 version instead. If you are reading these guides there is literally no reason to read consecutive versions unless there is a new park, ride, or hotel. So sorry 2025, you're DNF, technically I didn't make it past the website page (pg. 3) nor did I log you. I would have read you but my trip was delayed in 2025 and so was my reading. Now I see it as a blessing I put this book off for 14 months.

🔖 Page 33 of 410 Park-to-Park: Worth the Price? - This book is awesome as usual. This intro is different than the last one I read and I appreciate it. the Disney to Universal comparison is a much-needed conversation.
🔖114 Part 3 Arriving and Getting Around - I am surprised at how much I have learned this time around lots of good information here. Especially about the 4:00 p.m. Express Pass, that might come in handy if I ever decide to stay off site.
🔖240 Part 7 Universal Islands of Adventure - The reviews are hilarious! I think I'm going to write in about backpacks, as I have a solution for the small lockers that I was surprised wasn't listed.
🔖267 Special Events at Universal Islands of Adventure - Only stopping for errands. The reviews are hilarious.

I've been reading these books for a long time. They are so informative, and if you are familiar, they tell you where the updated information is located in each edition. The ebook is better for easier reading and the links. The Gillywater Muggle joke never gets old but it keeps getting shorter. I feel like I just got back from an Orlando vacation after reading this book, including Disney. Reading these books from cover to cover just shows how much we miss out on while doing as much as we can. We do a lot and still have only been to a fraction of the restaurants and have never rode ET. I may put it on my plan for next trip since they are replacing rides, you never know. Somehow this is the best edition I've read to date.

Recommend to others?: I highly recommend this book to anyone planning a visit.

Books mentioned: Universal vs. Disney: An Unofficial Guide to American Theme Parks’ Greatest Rivalry by Sam Gennawey,
Horrors Untold by Marc Kleinhenz and Xandra Hardigree, * there are tons of movies books and shows listed in this book but I only noted nonfiction books here.

Memorable Quotes: The authors and researchers of this guide specifically and categorically declare that they are and always have been totally independent. The material in this guide originated with the authors and has not been reviewed, edited, or in any way approved by Universal Orlando or any other companies whose travel products are discussed. The purpose of this guide is to provide you with the information necessary to tour with the greatest efficiency and economy and with the least hassle and stress. In this guide we represent and serve you, the consumer. If a restaurant serves bad food, a gift item is overpriced, or a certain ride isn’t worth the wait, we can say so, and in the process we hope to make your visit more fun, efficient, and economical.

Many readers ask us if it’s really worth the extra expense for Park-to-Park access, often phrased as “Why spend so much more just to ride a train?” For visits of one or two days, you can easily make do with a base ticket, but we strongly suggest Park-to-Park admission for anyone who is (a) visiting Universal Orlando for three or more days, (b) staying at an on-site hotel, or (c) a big Harry Potter fan. If you fall into one or more of those categories, here are four key reasons why it doesn’t pay to skimp on Park-to-Park access: Hogwarts Express is among Universal Orlando Resort’s top-rated attractions in our reader surveys, and we consider it not to be missed. The Early Park Admission perk included with on-site hotel stays is usually valid at only one theme park; with park-hopping privileges, you can take advantage of early entry but spend the rest of the day elsewhere. Park-to-Park access allows you to visit Volcano Bay in the early morning and evening when it’s pleasant, and spend the crowded middle part of the day in another park. During inclement weather, Park-to-Park access lets you hop over to USF when most of the other parks’ outdoor attractions are shut down.

During busy periods, Universal Express users should wait no more than 20 minutes for most rides at USF or IOA, even when the standby wait is well over an hour; an exception is Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, whose Express queue is often 30 minutes or more. Express waits can be a bit longer at Epic Universe but still average half to one-third of the posted standby wait. That’s a significant time savings and may make the difference between seeing all your favorite headliners in a single day or going home disappointed. During slow periods, Express users should experience little to no wait at most attractions and can practically walk on to many rides. However, the standby waits will typically top out between 15 and 30 minutes at these times, making the total minutes saved with Express much less impressive. Universal Express is not mandatory for enjoying the parks (as we’ve heard some claim), just so long as you show up bright and early with a well-organized agenda. If you want to sleep in and arrive at a park after opening, Express is an effective, albeit expensive, way to avoid long lines at the headliner attractions, especially during holidays and busy times. If, however, you arrive at least 30 minutes before park opening and you use our touring plans (see pages 401–424), you should experience the lowest possible waits.

Wizarding World One-Day/Two-Park Touring Plan (pages 413–414) This plan is for guests with one-day park-to-park tickets who wish to experience The Wizarding Worlds of Harry Potter to the exclusion of everything else Universal has to offer. The plan uses Hogwarts Express to get from one park to the other and then back again; you can walk back to the first park for the return leg if the line is too long. The plan includes lunch at Three Broomsticks and dinner at the Leaky Cauldron. During peak periods, you may need to substitute a quick-service snack for one or both meals to fit in all of the plan’s attractions. Universal Orlando Comprehensive Two-Day/Two-Park Touring Plan (pages 415–418) This plan is for guests with multiday park-to-park tickets who wish to explore USF and IOA in-depth over two days. The plan includes one Hogwarts Express trip between parks per day. Incidentally, all the water rides are concentrated in the morning of the first day, so if bad weather is in the forecast, consider flipping the plan days.

I didn’t find this quite as informative as the Disney guides, but still very helpful!
