The spark of war. The separation of Lovers by oceans and seas isolates a vulnerable king. Those are the words haunting Augustus Triarius at night. Five months at Court with Selene have proven that she was worth leaving the pirate fleet for—even if, without it, he no longer knows who he is. But fate intervenes once again, and Selene disappears at the hands of an old enemy. To get her back, Augustus must return to the world of piracy and plunge into a war that will determine the fate of the Triarius fleet.
The chains of fate. Selene Marinea has spent her life fighting for freedom, and she refuses to lose it again. Taken by a pirate with old grudges and dangerous ambitions, she finds herself trapped aboard a ship headed for war—far from Augustus, and further from the life she fought hard to claim. But captivity isn’t the same as surrender, and Selene isn’t without allies. An unexpected friendship with an old enemy lends her strength—more than Tristan Thorne ever anticipated. Yet it’s a man from her past life who shakes the foundation she and Augustus believed about their fated history. The truth this man holds could set her free from everything…it could also bind her to a fate she never chose.
A king without a crown. Dimitrios Vidalatos never planned to seek the Perean throne, let alone have his fate held hostage. Until the inquisitor names him king, Perean is too exposed—its people vulnerable and its enemies circling. Isolated in a foreign land and the Lovers lost to the seas, Dimitrios must seek new allies. But as a king without a crown, he has little to offer and no way to keep his people safe.
A warrior bound by tradition. Kai Silver Wolf has spent her life preparing to inherit the mantle of Grand Matriarch, but now the gods demand more. A battle for survival looms, and her adherence to tradition is more crucial than ever—even as every instinct urges her to break free. Yiria teeters on the brink of collapse, whispers of rebellion echo through the mountain, and all of it can be traced back to a dead king’s meddling. But a new enemy rises in his wake, and so does a traitor within—one willing to risk everything, even Yiria’s survival, to shatter the old ways.
In this new installment to A Sea of Echoes, the tides of war are rising, and no fleet, crown, or clan will be spared.

This book was everything I hoped for and more. The world expands beautifully, weaving together multiple POVs, intricate alliances, and ruthless pirate politics that had me completely hooked. The tension never lets up every decision feels monumental, every betrayal cuts deep.
Augustus and Selene’s journey wrecked me in the best way. Separated by war and fate, their love is both their strength and their undoing. The emotional weight of their story had me flipping pages long past midnight. And the supporting arcs Dimitrios’s quiet determination and Kai’s fierce leadership added so much richness to the world.
It’s a breathtaking, heart-wrenching book that delivers every ounce of emotion and adventure this series promised. I felt every victory, every loss, and every heartbeat along the way. I loved this one! Thanks to the author for the gifted arc.
If you dont read this book as a matter of fact this series... u will be doing urself the biggest disservice and I will die on any hill heart exposed fully believing that and preaching it...
This book.. this series.... Misty d waters u have absolutely GUTTED ME with how amazing this entire series has been. I found myself literally highlighting every single part of this book. The lore, the storyline, the new characters!!! UGHHH i just finished this book so please disregard the long sentences but please let me urge anyone that takes the time to read to READ THIS BOOK! PICK UP THIS SERIES. The writing style is indescribable its amazing I found myself in the situations the characters were in getting real life goosebumps. The way this story is written u genuinely dont need tv or movies because u can imagine everything in ur brain!!!
okay now to the storyline... wow it was honestly so much it never felt like a dull moment and even in the between parts where the characters were either recovering from something or getting ready for battle u could genuinely feel their raw emotions emitting from the words on the paper. there's too much of the storyline to unfold in this review but from start to end it was a Rollercoaster. At the end of the day u can never deny the FMCs in this book are FIERCE and DETERMINED even in the face of uncertainty and in this book with the addition of Kai's storyline i found myself relating to the characters emotions in a way I wasnt expecting and I found the way Kai dealt with her stressful situations and the way she opened up to those around her to be really inspiring. Selene too in this book wow no words no notes. I loved the way Thorne just immediately underestimated her and selene all but backhanded him in several different parts of the book it was very satisfying!! Speaking of Thorne his storyline was so sad and SUCH a compelling opener I instantly kept thinking oh no hes gonna be one of those redemption arc villains but nah he saw to his end. Dimitrios was alot more sassier in this book which honestly loved and appreciated his blunt approach towards how he was treated and overall running a kingdom, gotta give him credit his development throughout towards Perea from how it ended in b1 BIG shift. and milonia😮😮 my jaw literally dropped at her character origins ALSO SIDE NOTE this book was filled with so many plot twist i didnt even see coming!!! oh my goodness and the horrid scenes of thornes pure brutality wow it had me jaw dropped that was just so well written. also really loved the addition of yiria the clans learning about their lore and traditions and finding out there's a secret clan within the mountain with the same eyes AND DRAKAA this series could go in so many different directions who knows whats gonna happen... but either way this entire book was so well written from the creature monsters, to the humans that just straight up acted like monsters, the romance all of the characters experienced, and the endless list of other emotions/events they went through UGHHH... I just am gonna be in the biggest reading slump now....
all that to say thank you Misty d waters for being the most amazing and captivating writter ever u truly have a gift and im thankful to be in a timeline where I get to experience ur creations and fully be immersed in them. so happy this isnt the last book and we have 2 more or however more u deem left and I will savor every last word u give for these characters❤️

Misty is so amazing at keeping you enticed for such a long time and the insights of lore is freaking awesome. Such an awesome and amazing experience through reading
Wow Misty really can write a great book, a book with epic fighting scenes and pirates on the high seas, beautiful friendship and a love story over many life times. Please take a change in this series.
Huge thanks to the author for sending me an eARC!!
THE ENDING SCARES ME. On a calmer note, Misty did it again! This book was just as good as the first one, though this time there were more characters to love and terrifying enemies to hate and fear that surrounded everyone and everything. I LOVED being back with these characters, and I immensely enjoyed this new adventure we get to go on with them. I also really enjoyed seeing new characters pop up and getting their POVs even if they weren’t with the main characters. I think that the expansion of the world was well done, and will eventually lead to the highest of stakes in the coming books. I fear for where we’re headed, but I cannot wait for the next installment. The tides are changing and I’m anxious to see how we’ll move forward, especially after that cliffhanger (I don’t want to think about it). Overall, this series will be one of my top favorites and more people need to pick these books up to experience such an adventurous and political fantasy.
This story line has been amazing. I loved that we had more characters and story lines added in the is book. I never felt lost on who was talking.
Augustus and Selene are torn apart by a rival pirate with a vendetta against the Triarius family.
We meet Kai and follow her matriarchal line of succession while thrown new trials she never expected.
Dimitrios started where he left off in book one; trying to claim the thrown as the rightful heir while dealing with internal sabotage, oh and he kinda likes his Head of House lady.
And there is SO MUCH MORE that happens. I can’t tell anymore without feeling like I’m spoiling things.
Prepare for frustration, anger, happy tears and definitely tears of sadness. All the emotions. I’m pretty sure the author was determined to make me cry. It felt personal because you get so immersed into the story.
Amazing job to Misty with continuing Selene’s and Augustus story, of them coming together and then loosing each other to find one another again and again. Love the heartbreak and happiness found throughout the book. Dimitrios needs all the support he can get with having the ruling of a kingdom falling into his lap. He finds love again while also loosing it in the end, finds the support of family to help guide him as he learns what it means to be king. Kai and her family are an interesting part of the story and the snippets of their lives just make you anticipate what role they will play in future books.
Amelia Hugh did an amazing job narrating this book for audible and glad Misty gave permission for her to share the audiobook narration process of this book. Can’t wait to listen to the finished product in the near future.
This was a brilliant continuation of the ASOE saga! There are more adventures of Selene, Augustus, Oskar, Dimitrios, and, yes, Alexandra...heinous b***ch. We also meet a handful of new characters with compelling stories. Once again, Misty D. Waters dazzles with her plots, world building, character development, and overall voice. When you start a book in this series, you never know where you're going to end up, but once you arrive, you're glad you took the journey. And this journey isn't over...not by a long shot. If the brilliance of Misty alone isn't enough to entice someone to read this series, I have three words. Amelia. F***king. Hugh. Her performance of the audiobook is stunning (like everything she narrates) and captivates from the first word to the last. I can't wait to see where this story goes next!
I dove into A Clash of Steel expecting a solid read and I got so much more. Misty D. Waters pulls me into her world with characters I found myself rooting for, flaws and all. The emotional beats landed hard: I felt their fears, their losses, their hope. The stakes are real. The action scenes had me gripping the edge of my seat.
What especially resonated: the way the relationships are written. These aren’t perfect people they mess up, they heal, they fight for something bigger than themselves. I loved that. At the same time, a few parts felt a little predictable and I wished certain plot threads had been pushed further.
Overall: a memorable read that I’ll remember for the characters more than the plot. If you’re into gritty romance with heart, this one’s worth your time.
The RayView:✨✨✨✨✨ The HeatRay: How It Be Spicin’?:🌶️🌶️🌶️ . This novel had me REELING! It was up and down and all around and I loved every second of the roller coaster. I adored watching Selene come into her own person, her own strength. I adored Dimitrios finding his own path. My heart ached for Augustus as he traversed his grief. And the ending had my mouth dropped open in utter shock. I can’t believe I have to wait for more. 😩 . I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Misty D Waters is the type of author that grabs your attention and holds it to the end. She is brilliant! What a wonderful second book in the Sea of Echos series. There is so much action in this book it's hard to put down. I can't wait to see what's coming in the next book. I will read this one many times. Or I can listen to an amazing audio book brought to life by Amelia Hugh. She offers a wonderful listening experience you do not want to miss. Order this today.
