Having defeated his pursuers from his home city, it's time for Ike to escape the Abyss and level up! Out in the real world, he realizes just how small his original world view was, as he encounters mountain spirits, princesses, and everything in between, all while growing stronger and stronger.
However, it's not all fun and games. Under the surface of his adventures roils a grand conspiracy. The more he explores, the more of the conspiracy he unravels, until he finds himself facing what he thought he'd his very origins themselves.
How far does the conspiracy stretch? How much will Ike uncover? As he reaches further and further from home, one truth looms no matter how far he goes, there's no escaping his roots.
Book 2 in this action-packed new LitRPG featuring a detailed system with skills, ranks, and levels, Cultivation elements, hunting, and more. It's perfect for fans of Solo Leveling, I Shall Seal the Heavens, and ThePath of Ascension!
The MC and his companion are loud mouthed imbeciles that should have been killed dozens of times for their insane statements at the wrong time.
I suffered through all the man eating jokes, the moronic golem sausage factory and some really bizarre banter. But the utter constant disrespect for any authority is extremely cringe. Even a slum rat has to know respect as amatter of self preservation. Otherwise Darwin's selection makes the world a better place..
In the end i could not tolerate their stupidity any longer and gave up..
Criticism and comments
Hearing one side of the story doesn't magically make you know the other in general..
It's awfully convenient that Shawn's weight only flattens everelse but to It's immediate bearer who is in between the forcesL, physics would have suggested otherwise..
The golem factory scene reminded me of the joke from big bang theory, where a genius tried to mass produce gas by flooding his basement with excrement mixed with water,, #rofl#
“I got some news for you, King Boss."
"We ill-bred folks thought we’d better clear out. You know. Wouldn’t want to shit on your banquet.”
The book is average and a good way to kill some time. There is nothing special to set it apart and it seems to wander away from a plot like the characters wander around. It is like it needs something special to set it apart like a talking head. Oh wait it does, kinda. How many fantasy books have characters fighting and leveling up? Yep pretty much all of them. Now think of all the ones with a talking head. Yeah, silence. Which is what the talking head spoke this entire book. Not once with all the mc’s questions did the head speak this book. It has never spoken to Wisp. It has been gagged for almost the entirety letting some not average opportunities go unspoken. So without anything special, your average fare reared its ugly head.
What happened I really liked the first one. It was well put together, had interesting world and characters. Flowed and had a good set up and progression. This one? Just threw it all out. Just felt like it was all thrown together at the last minute. The progression was gone in favor of just....Focus will power and increase mana, boom stronger.
Then the scenes. It felt like adapted for TV or something. It was more just scenes with bad transitions between set pieces. Like I have no clue how many days even pass in the book or how far they went. It was supposed to be big spaces between cities yet this one felt like there was more people and places after every step.
It basically took everything we learned in book one and threw it out. Cities, Lords, Progression, Monsters and Human relations. All of it.
Several progressive subplots… and I loved it. Ike has grown on me the past two books. You can tell that the author is progressing Ike’s internal motivations each and every step. The kit that our MC is building is truly interesting, and the magic system itself leaves so many opportunities to build upon. Additionally the magic system is setting this series up for a long term favorite of mine. The dynamics with the new team really hits hard. I love the mysteries and the power ups. I would hope to read another 10 books of this story. Already preordered the next one. Amazing addition Noct!
I knew that this book would be good because the first book left off at a pretty good spot, but this absolutely blew me away at the creativity. This absolutely stepped up the game and I'm not sure how Noct is going to step up for Book 3 but this makes me chomp at the bit for the next book. There's new characters, new monsters, and whole new concepts of magic and explorations. I adored this and was wrapped in this story for days. I didn't want it to end.
The moment Ike pickup Shawn to carry him again I was done. It’s just too stupid to continue reading. It was getting rather annoying and that was my last straw.
I don’t know weather to cheer or boo the guy. I mean he can do good things or be a total jerk. But anyway I’m not a big fan of living for hundreds of years and not having to eat or sleep. So I think I’m done with this series
I really hope this series does goo super in am I a puppet crisis that's not what I want to read, everything else was pretty and dark hope this start getting better
