Elysium was not unused to being the odd one out in his family. There were so many differences between him and his twin siblings that he could count the similarities on one hand (and that included shared parents). Knowing some of the challenges plaguing his family in both the light and dark realms, he is determined to find answers. When he meets someone equally as determined from the dark court, it almost feels as though he's met the missing part of himself.

Rowan had never wanted to become a member of the dark realm's royal guard; however, the Dark Queen had fostered him and would not take no for an answer. Somehow, he became the most trusted confidant of Queen Elsbet. The main benefit of this is the opportunity to meet the Queen's great-grandchildren, more specifically Elyisum. When an evil enemy is defeated, somehow members of both the light and dark royal families are left comatose.

Will Ely and Rowan be able to overcome the evil and find one another or will it take a personal sacrifice to ensure survival.
