When the wedding invitation arrives, Maeve Kennedy knows she's in trouble.
Five years after their devastating breakup, she's finally moved on from Parker Christian—built a successful engineering firm, created a life on her own terms, and learned to stop wondering "what if." She can handle being a bridesmaid at his sister's wedding. She's a professional. An adult. Completely over him.
Until she discovers they're sharing the same cozy Airbnb for the entire wedding weekend.
Parker never stopped regretting the choice that cost him everything.
He let ambition destroy the best relationship he'd ever had, choosing partnership track over the woman he loved. Now, trapped in close quarters with Maeve—fixing her dress straps, catching her on the ice, remembering exactly how perfectly she fits in his arms—he realizes the universe is offering him something a second chance.
But second chances are complicated.
Between morning coffee in a shared kitchen, forced proximity at photo shoots, and one unforgettable kiss in a snowy parking lot, old feelings resurface with dangerous intensity. They've both changed. They've both grown. But have they changed enough to make it work this time?
When love gets a second chance, the stakes are even higher—because now they know exactly what they'll lose if they fail.
A heartwarming second-chance romance about two people brave enough to fight for love, smart enough to learn from their mistakes, and lucky enough to get another shot at happily ever after.
Perfect for fans of closed door sweet romances—a story about the courage it takes to risk your heart on someone who's already broken it once.
I have read this ebook via Kindle Unlimited and this is my honest opinion: I found the story to be very confusing and lacking continuity. Why would two people who split up in a non-amicable way, and have to stay together for a wedding, run inside the Airbnb and do "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to choose who gets the main bedroom? Who is Brigit? Maeve states that Brigit is Parker's sister. But then he refers to Brigit as being Maeve's sister. He also states in his speech at the rehearsal dinner that he has only known Brigit since she was 15yo, but in his wedding speech he said that she is his little sister! How can Parker hear Maeve turn the pages of her book when he's on the next floor above her? When Parker shows up at Maeve's office two weeks later, he said he's opening an office in Hartford so he can be near to her now she has the Hartford contract, yet he already lives and works in Hartford which they had discussed at the Airbnb! Also, Maeve asks him how he knows about the contract, obviously she has a poor memory, as she had told him about putting in for the contract when they had spoken about their jobs at the Airbnb. With poor dialogue and the many grammatical errors, this book isn't a great read. I definitely won't be reading anything further from this author, nor this series, if this book is the standard.
