I really enjoyed this trilogy conclusion!
Remy, Gem and the crew need to restock before travelling into the Maelstrom to find the machine that will pull magic from the Maelstrom instead of the dragons to keep the islands floating. Except they are found by the king and brought back to the capital. After some reasoning, the king allows the crew to try to locate the machine and they need to race against time to save the islands from falling into the void.
I really preferred the second half/part over the first. You could really feel the urgency and the crew being in the capital arguing with the king was just something I wanted to get over with so we could travel to the dwarf mountain to find the machine. I understand why it was necessary but I was just so excited to get to the travelling part. That second part moved so fast and was so action packed.
The characters we knew from the first 2 books grew on me so much more and I loved seeing their relationships with each other blossom and solidify. We got quite a few new characters in this one too which was really fun.
The ending really was fun. We got answers to all our questions and a great conclusion. Things didn't go the way anyone had planned, but it was just so fantastic!

Remy will stop at nothing to become a sky knight with his best friend Storm, but there might not be a world left to guard if he and his ragtag group don’t save it first. Gem is becoming a better Mage every day, strengthening her abilities and learning more about the crystals that keep the cities a float. Remy, Gem and their friends must do the impossible and go into the maelstrom to find the dwarves and find out the rest of the story and try and get things fixed so the cities stay afloat.
This the third book in the series is even more exciting than the first two. The characters find their strength and power from each other and will face this insurmountable problem as one, they will work hard to see it remedied before everyone they know and love is swallowed by the maelstrom. This book is filled with action and suspense that will grab you and keep you in its grasp until it is finished. I really liked this book a lot I wish there are more.

This was my favorite book in the series! Just like the first two books, this one is fast-paced and full of action. There’s always something happening, and I t just keeps you moving through the story.

The characters are still my favorite part of this series. You can feel how much they’ve all grown individually and together. Honestly, I’m a little sad this is the end, because this book really opened up this world even more. There’s so much more of this world I would love read about and see stories in. There’s so much potential here.

This series feels like such a good reminder of what middle grade fantasy can be. It’s fun, adventurous, full of heart, and lets you completely escape into another world for a while…which I feel like is something that’s been lacking in publishing lately, especially for kids and teens.

Such a strong ending to a really fun series!!

Remy and Gem may be an unlikely duo, but with the help of Storm and some sky pirates, they may be exactly what the world needs to keep the land from falling into the Maelstrom. As this group races to find the machine the dwarves were tasked to create, they must also overcome an evil pirate and a True Dragon. Gem’s powers continue to grow, and she quickly learns what her future throne will require of her. Will they stop the land from falling and save the world?

Skyshattered is the third book in the Storm Dragons series. Readers of the first two books will easily fall into the continuation of this story and, with a few strategic nudges … recall pertinent details. Kagawa wraps up this tale with a satisfactory ending, although most readers will be disappointed that it is a trilogy. A great read for fans of dragon adventures.

Skyshattered is an engaging read full of magical and mythological beings on the ultimate dangerous quest to save the world. If you like dragons, elves, dwarves, sky pirates, and courageously stubborn magical princesses, this one is for you! This story was full of excellent side characters that felt like family clashing with a couple of truly villainous antagonists that all together made this whole book feel like an epic adventure off to the far edges of the world and back again.

Thank you to NetGalley and Disney Publishing Worldwide for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this enjoyable third addition to the Storm Dragon series!

Thank you to the publisher for this free eARC! All opinions are my own.

Gem, Remy, and Storm must find and turn on the machine in order to prevent the human islands from falling from the sky. However, the dragon Malacath will do anything to make sure the islands fall. #Skyshattered #NetGalley
