Some obsessions never leave—they haunt you instead.
Natalie Stone lives alone in a haunted Victorian manor that hums with secrets. The walls whisper. The candles burn too long. And someone is lurking in her shadows.
When a string of murders shakes the quiet town below, Natalie begins to feel the presence closing in — watching her, following her, learning her every move.
To Die For is a chilling gothic thriller about obsession, isolation, and the darkness that blooms where love refuses to die.
This book was an absolute mind-bending, psychological thriller - you think you know what’s happening, but you don’t. It’s beautifully written with vivid descriptions that make you feel like you’re in Natalie’s shoes, experiencing the dark, haunted manor firsthand. The story is gripping from start to finish, and the ending is completely unexpected - left me in shambles!

This is a quick read that could have been made even quicker by reading thr first 20% (that's being generous) and the last 15 - 20%. Everything between is a repeat. Everything. The ending was predictable.
I really did like the descriptive writing. The way the house is described, the surroundings. It was done so well I could picture everything in my mind. The writer is talented in that regard, I just didn't like that I was reading the same events over and over for 80% of the book.
To Die For by Livy Yvonne is a gripping and emotionally charged novel that completely captivated me from beginning to end. From the very first pages, the story pulls you into a world filled with intensity, vulnerability, and raw human emotion. It is the kind of book that stays with you long after you’ve finished reading.
One of the strongest aspects of the novel is Yvonne’s writing style. Her prose is immersive and expressive, making it easy to connect deeply with the characters. The emotions feel real and unfiltered, which makes the story both heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. The pacing is well balanced, keeping the reader invested while allowing key moments to truly resonate.
The characters are complex and thoughtfully developed. Rather than feeling one-dimensional, they struggle, grow, and reveal their flaws in ways that feel authentic. Their relationships are intense and layered, adding depth to the story and making the emotional stakes feel incredibly high. I found myself genuinely caring about what happened to them, which made the reading experience even more powerful.
What truly makes To Die For stand out is its exploration of darker themes such as love, obsession, pain, and survival. The book does not shy away from difficult topics, instead confronting them with honesty and sensitivity. This adds a level of realism that makes the story feel meaningful rather than simply dramatic.
Overall, To Die For is an unforgettable novel that I would highly recommend to readers who enjoy emotionally driven stories with strong characters and serious themes. It is intense, thought-provoking, and beautifully written — a book I would gladly read again and confidently recommend to others.
This book had me at Victorian wall paper, blood and an MMC that wears glasses.
Follow Natalie, an author, as she enjoys the quiet solitude of her old Victorian home haunted by creeks and moans of the pervious owners and all that happened with its walls. Recount her past that brought her to her present situation and the very dark hobby she developes with in her cellar.
Lurking in the shawdows, always watching, is The Watcher. Keeping an eye on Natalie; her every step, every move, every breath. He waits and bides his time for his chance to become apart of her obsession.
Livy Yvonne’s writing has undertones of Edger Allen Poe with a touch of modern story telling. Her metaphors and similes suck you into the home and lives of both our FMC and MMC. I can feel the wall paper, the rug under my feet, the tick of the clock and the forlorning call of the owl.
But there is also a dark side that Livy leads us into so, if you like dark obession, a little blood and gore and a whole lot of spice, step into this Victorian Home of memory, mystery, twitsts and thrills.
This book is a everything I enjoy reading all wrapped up in a dark romantic gothic bow.
I will read what ever she writes and I’m sure the audio of “To Die For” will be To Die For!!!!!!!
Reading To Die For by Livy Yvonne turned out to be a completely different experience than I expected—in the best way possible. I went into this story unsure of what kind of journey I was about to step into, but it quickly pulled me into its dark and thrilling ride.
I chose to experience this one through the audiobook on Audible, which made the story feel even more immersive. A special shoutout to Cap Reads 4 U for narrating his parts with such intensity and finesse—it truly elevated the experience.
This story takes you on a twisted adventure that keeps tightening its grip the deeper you go. Just when you think you have a sense of where things are heading, it pivots again and keeps you guessing.
And by the time you reach the end… you’re left sitting there with your jaw on the floor, trying to process everything that just unfolded.
If you enjoy stories that slowly pull you deeper into the chaos and leave you stunned at the end, this one is absolutely worth the ride.
I really enjoyed this book. I wasn’t getting into it until about 20% though. I just personally felt like there was a lot of repetition and it wasn’t moving forward. So glad I stuck with it though, because it made sense why it felt like a constant loop was happening. I had (I felt) like were some easy guesses on how the story was going to end. But I wasn’t expecting THAT! The last 30% I just didnt want and couldn’t put it down! I definitely wish there was some more details. Where did the bodies go? How did the detective have more of a clue on things? Just some odds and ends that i wonder about. Overall, it was a fun read!

This is a quick psychological thriller. I was given a listener copy and I am glad that I did the audiobook. Between Livy and Cap I was very happy with the story. It was definitely worth the listen. I had a hard time relating to Natalie as a character which made the story harder to get into but I liked the narration for sure.
Loved her book and her style of writing. Dark, gothic romance with twists and turns. The ONE thing I did not like is the ending. I don’t know if there is going to be a part two, but it does end abrupt.
Not for the faint hearted. But didn’t expect it to end how it did. I was hooked from start to finish. So many things happened that I didn’t see coming!
