Small is Your Superpower!: How Small Businesses (Finally!) Can Outsmart Big Brands at Marketing

Rate this book
What if being small is actually your biggest advantage today?

In Small Is Your Superpower, Shawna Suckow—small business champion, award-winning marketing speaker, and former corporate insider—flips the script on traditional marketing advice and shows you how to outsmart the big guys by leveraging your size and your uniqueness in new ways that resonate with today's busy, skeptical customers.

This is not another dry business book filled with outdated tactics and buzzwords. (We’ve had enough of those, thanks.) Instead, you’ll get real talk, smart strategy, and actionable ideas that work for real small businesses—especially the ones run by people who are doing all the things.

Inside, you’ll

Why you’re actually faster and more powerful than most big brands (yes, really)

The mindset shifts that unlock your marketing superpowers

How to create brand loyalty on a shoestring budget

Why niche is the new mainstream—and how to own yours

Future-focused, repeatable tactics that really work

You’ll also get personal stories, lessons learned the hard way, the occasional superhero reference (you’ve been warned), and a whole lot of encouragement.

This book is for the solo entrepreneurs, the side hustlers, the local brick-and-mortar shops, the businesses without a full-time marketing team, and the scrappy creatives who know they have something great—but are tired of feeling like they’re losing to brands with 100x the budget.

You don’t need a big team. You just need a big shift.

My dog loves that I’m retired

The author, who I’ve known for 20 years, gets to the heart of how small businesses can reach their perfect customers, keep them, and have them help reach more customers. And, you can have fun doing it, because you get to be your unique self.

Shawna gives you real (and definitely brilliant) ideas on how to differentiate your business. She gives you permission to be authentic and not-at-all corporate. Because, who wants to hear that BS?

And, she’s absolutely right. I don’t buy from companies I don’t trust and feel like I could have a coffee with. Neither do your customers.

This book is an easy, fast read. Definitely worth your time and effort to get your business in front of your Right Customers. I hope you soar to success and enjoy the ride!

Great read!

This book provides a wonderful explanation of why some businesses succeed in marketing and others do not. Small businesses don’t need big budgets to reach people. Highly recommend!
