Royal Elite #5

Vicious Prince

Rate this book
He’s prince charming. Just not hers.

I have a secret.
I stole a heart, or rather a marriage contract.
It wasn’t mine to own, to look at or to even consider.
But it was there for the taking so I took it.
Huge mistake.
Ronan Astor is a nobility in this world.
Arrogant player.
Heartless bastard.
Vicious prince.
Now, he’s out to destroy me.
What he doesn’t know is that I’m out to destroy him too.
My name is Teal Van Doren, and I’m where princes go to die.

Vicious Prince is part of Royal Elite Series but could be read on its own. For better understanding of the world, you might want to read the previous books first. This is a dark high school bully romance, mature new adult, and contains dubious situations that some readers might find offensive.

Five Stars “Now and Always”!

So the bully romance with the rich privileged guy and the girl from the poor troubled background has been done before. But I love it anyway and this book one was a step above the rest. I actually wanted Cole’s story to be next in the series because he is intelligent and a bit mysterious. I thought Ronan’s story would be a bit boring since Ronan is such a nice guy. He didn’t seem to have much depth other than being a playboy.

I was so wrong! Ronan is hiding surprising intensity beneath that happy go lucky exterior and the heroine Teal had the same misconceptions as I did about Ronan. We met Teal in previous books when her and her twin brother Knox were found to be the foster children of Elsa’s father and they began attending the Royal Elite School. Teal was the quite and introspective girl who gives off the vibe that she doesn’t care what other people think about her and she does her own thing.

Teal was a tough nut to crack in this book which is why she is perfect for Ronan. She has a lot of secrets and some are much darker than others. However, she agrees to the arranged marriage to Ronan that her father and his father want to set up in order to cement their business partnership.

Ronan, as the son of an Earl can’t say no to an arranged marriage, as that is how it has always been done in his family. However, he threatens Teal and tries to get her to call it off, like he had done with a few girls his father tried to set him up with in the past. Though Teal isn’t as easily swayed because she has her own reasons for going through with the arrangement.

I don’t want to give too much away, but to say that one of the things that put this book above so many is the humor despite the troubling circumstances and backgrounds of our main characters. I laughed on and off through the entire book. Especially scenes between Ronan and his butler Lars. Lars is a traditional butler, Ronan even referred to the fact that he took cues from Downton Abbey and watched it regularly, taking it way too seriously.

“Lord Astor’s face remains blank as he talks to her, no expression, no smile, no nothing.”
“We agree that Dad is a robot, and by we, I mean Lars and me. Fine, Lars just listened with a judgmental expression while I informed him of that fact.”

Overall I just really liked the story and I read it through in one sitting. Both Ronan and Teal were lovable characters and made a great couple. The bully theme was not too strong and ended fairly quickly and they became a couple. I liked that there were some scenes where they provoked each other’s jealousy and there were some scorching hot intimate scenes between Ronan and Teal as well.

I am still looking forward to Cole’s book, though I am not too fond of Silver as his love interest. Though the fact that she is his step-sister does add another level to the story. I like that Cole reads a lot and apparently he has some crazy kinks, so it should be a fun one!

I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

1 Star only for Aiden's one liners

TRIGGER WARNING

I can not even express how disappointed I was after finishing this book. I can not believe this book is EVEN part of the same series I became obsessed with. After reading Black Knight I COULD NOT wait for Ronan’s book. The chill guy. Who is all smiles and jokes. And then we had Teal the dark, Anti social girl who just came out of nowhere and hardly even acknowledged Ronan, the guy EVERYBODY LOVES.

When this book landed in my Kindle, for some reason I didn’t open it. That should have been the first sign. The second one was when ARC’s were sent and hardly anyone was speaking or hyping the book.

Below are the reasons why this book DID NOT do it for me.

1. This is NOT the Ronan I had previously read about. Idk who this guy was, it’s said that he is trying to hide his true self BUT what was it? I didn’t understand. So please if anyone else did, let me know.
2. Definitely not the Teal I was hyped about. She sounded like a robot at first, someone who has no feelings but then this one scene Ronan was about to get a blowjob from someone and Teal walks in and he then makes her watch (Ring any bell?) but then Teal grabs the girl by the hair and tells her to leave. Why? Because a night before or a few nights ago, Ronan made her orgasm for the first time in her LIFE by just touching her nipples.
3. Back to the Nipple scene, before that happened Ronan had called Teal ugly twice but then when he saw her naked, he was like omg she is beaaaautiful. And after getting her to orgasm he couldn’t stand anyone else touching her.
4. This book is “Inspired” by another book. 100 points to whoever guesses it after reading the first hint. This was bought to my attention when I started the book and thought ‘hmm maybe that’s being said because someone is molested in this book.’
5. THERE WAS ZERO CHEMISTRY BETWEEN RONAN AND TEAL.

That’s about it.

“what i feel for you is more than love. it’s something overwhelming, but also encouraging. it’s believing that you can be normal even when i don’t know what normality is. it’s smiling and laughing out loud without even realizing it.”

୨ teal and ronan are two completely different boys, but also two boys who couldn’t hate each other more: every time ronan sees teal in the school hallways he tries in every way to annoy or tease teal, but teal rarely (or almost never) responds to his provocations, because if he did it would mean receiving attention from others and that’s the last thing teal would want being a very reserved girl.
despite their mutual hatred they are engaged: well yes, because of an arranged marriage teal and ronan will have to get married. teal accepts all this because she feels obliged to help her father, but ronan absolutely does not want to, because for him this marriage represents a cage, a new way of life that prohibits his freedom. for this reason he will ask teal not to accept the marriage, but she has plans in mind, she accepts and ronan is forced to accept too.

୨ so the days pass and little by little ronan and teal begin to know each other, between one lesson and another they begin to talk to each other and not to argue ahahahah.
during one day in particular they get closer: ronan discovers a place where teal goes very often and decides to give her a "surprise". from that moment on they will no longer be able to be close and similar to each other, because thanks to this meeting they will understand that they will have many things in common.
they then decide to "accept" this arranged marriage and we can say that they begin to really date. every morning ronan takes teal to school and brings her home, they start to be jealous of each other to the point of making small scenes of jealousy. during one evening at the meet up, ronan after having a crisis decides to open up to teal and tell her his biggest trauma: being raped as a child. in that moment teal understands more things than i thought i could understand and decides to act on impulse: to cancel the wedding because she couldn't continue to live with the secret she had and that she understood she had to tell him.
so for two days she disappears but a series decides to write a farewell letter to her ronan in which she tells him her secret. (i tell you that i was really moved)
when ronan finishes reading the letter he connects every piece of the puzzle and is determined to help teal even at the cost of his life.

teal⋮ teal is a girl with a very bad past behind her, because of elsa's mother she suffered a serious trauma, which unfortunately, still has consequences in teal's present.
teal is a girl who doesn't believe in love because she thinks that between two people there is only chemistry due to hormones, but despite this she decided to help her father by marrying ronan.
to describe teal I would say that she is the nerdy girl with energetic vibrations of a black cat and has walls all around her heart that no one can climb except her ronan.

- as a character she didn't drive me crazy because I think that in some parts she was too closed in on herself, at the beginning I really don't understand her as a character because she said her ideas too little, then continuing the book I started to appreciate her more, maybe also because thanks to the letter she writes you can understand why in some situations she behaved in a certain way. despite this however she is certainly not my favorite protagonist, I'm really sorry to say it but I didn't like her as a character.

“at a certain point in my life, I convinced myself that I didn’t have a heart or, if I did, that it only served an anatomical function. now, however, every time ronan is around, that organ goes crazy.”

ronan⋮ [ he is always the sarcastic and cheerful ones who face the darkest battles ]
ronan is a boy who is always seen with a smile and has a lot of control over his emotions, especially his anger, he almost hates it as an emotion.
he is in full youth and does not want an arranged marriage, especially with a girl he can’t stand, to ruin his best years. for this reason he asks teal to refuse to marry them, but she will say yes, and from that moment on ronan will do everything to discover teal’s secrets and ruin his life. he always thought that his plan would go well without any kind of problem, but one was born. (but i wouldn't call it a problem) slowly, without wanting to, he started to know teal, to trust her until he told her the reason why he always smiles and always throws so many parties: because he's afraid of being alone and seeing the problems he had.
⤿ everyone has their own way of dealing with trauma, or pain and so on. some people tend to close themselves off, others fight their demons and others still wear a mask and make people laugh. ronan is just like that. he uses laughter to hide the tears he would like to shed but can't.

"after all, the most painful scars are the invisible ones."

⌒⌒⌒⌒⌒

my thoughts ⋮ I have to be honest: I didn't like the book. I'll start by saying that I didn't have high expectations because I've never liked Teal as a character, and "having" to read one of his stories didn't excite me that much.
the book itself isn't bad (because I love Rina's writing) but I didn't like the way she wrote it, let me explain: I really didn't understand how it's possible that in one chapter Ronan and Teal hate each other, and in the next chapter Teal says that Ronan makes him feel feelings for her even if he doesn't want to. is there a reason? how? one chapter before you hate him and the next you have feelings for him?. 🤷🏻‍♀️
besides that, in my opinion, the book is also too spicy. i say it: i'm a girl who doesn't mind these scenes because sometimes i think they are useful to better understand the character, but in this book there are too many scenes and they are also too described (i knew what i was going to read also because it's not the first rina book i read). in short i would have preferred there to have been less spicy scenes and i would have appreciated the book much more.

- i thought many times about giving up reading it but since the book is part of a story i preferred to read it rather than not finish it. continuing i can say that it has improved just a little, but not that much, maybe to better understand teal's character and the story i would have preferred there to have been at least two books like for elsa and aiden. (I got to 90% and I didn't understand anything anymore because too many things were happening at the same time🤦🏻‍♀️)

જ⁀➴ these are just my thoughts and they don't necessarily have to be the same as others, seeing the stars they gave to other people I also hoped that I would like it just like them, but unfortunately (and I'm sorry to say it) it wasn't the same for me. I hope that the next one, being the last one, will please me more.

Where do I start

I had thoughts of my review running a loop through my head when reading the book. But now I don’t know if I have the energy for a big long rant. I just know that I have to say something. If you are going to use sexual abuse/child molestation trauma as the plot line to your book, do us all a favor and do it right. As a survivor I am exhausted from reading books by authors who use it because they needed an excuse for their character to be weak, selfish, anti-social, slutty, mean, sociopathic the list goes on and on. Abuse survivors are not BROKEN! They are exactly what I said SURVIVORS. Do some struggle? Yes. But the vast majority are not some B-movie character who hates themselves and the world. They are not promiscuous just trying to “numb the pain” blah blah blah. This author didn’t just get it wrong, she got it wrong in the exact same uncreative way that so many others have. Only she didn’t just stop at shoving one character into that uncreative stereotype, she did it with both main characters in the same book. She answered the question “well at least it can’t get any worse, right?” with a resounding “yes, yes it can”. So thank you for AGAIN reinforcing the stereotype and painting abuse survivors as broken broken broken. God forbid you have to get creative and and actually devise new characters capable of surviving their trauma and being functioning members of society, or people even capable of more like being a loving caring person who wants to save others from what they went through? Most survivors live with trauma yes, but believe it or not we are able to use it to be constructive, and not just destructive. Also dirty talk is great and everyone has their kinks, but I feel like I can safely speak for 99.9% of survivors and say that if they barely know someone and they tell you that they make love to other girls but are “going to fuck you like the whore you are “(when someone has already paid for to molest them, and their mother was an actual whore) it’s not a freaking turn on. Whatever things someone might want to explore with a partner THEY TRUST is one thing, but again for someone they barely know, who acts like a dick and hasn’t done a damn thing to earn that right? Riiiggghhhhht. Sorry I’m not going to let that fly and support this bullshit narrative. This isn’t just a suspension of disbelief this is just bad writing. I also really resent the overall implication that a sexual abuse survivor is basically tainted and worthless (you know, a whore) and because of something they had no control over they now don’t deserve to be treated half way decent or with any respect at all. It’s one thing if the guys is just an asshole and treats everyone like that, but no It’s just her. Just his heroine, that he treats like absolute shit while being sweet, tender, and respectful with ever other girl out there, but he won’t even respect her “hard limits” what a freaking joke. No other female should be treated better than the heroine, but this was beyond awful. This girl was supposed to be the “tough girl”, but was portrayed to be a pathetic dishrag that in real life everyone would feel sorry for because the “hero” can be kind to everyone but her. Feel free to out the highlights I noted. This book is just wrong in all levels. Exploiting sexual abuse abuse victims and rewriting history to sell a few books. I thought this author was a better writer than that. I was beyond wrong. Long story short this is absolute freaking trash.

5 ”Ma belle” stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

She stirred up my ugly side, and now she has to become its target.
I, Ronan Astor, the most attentive lover you could ever find, want to break someone — but not just anyone.
Her.

First and foremost I need to find myself a man who’ll call me his ma belle the way Ronan does so lovingly ASAP. Second, I just can’t get ENOUGH of Rina Kent’s books. She is truly one of a kind. Her writing makes me feel every single emotion. The tension, the angst, the suspense, the lust, the mindfuck and especially the love. It’s leaves me feeling as if I have been on crazy fucking ride and completely dizzy. I simply don’t want the story to end. It’s a bittersweet feeling that soon it’s going to come to an end. I’m in no way ready to say goodbye to these horsemen and their queens.

I can see his scars, not like the ones on my knees, but the scars hidden underneath that six-pack and that charming smile. The scars no one sees but are known of by him, the scars he hides from by being with people.
After all, the most painful scars are the invisible ones.

You know how they always say the person who is always smiling and joking are the ones who are hiding so much pain and that exactly how I felt with Ronan. I knew his story was going to be just as emotional and heartbreaking. It was no surprise that he was just as alpha and intense as the others. When he brought out his dark side, my jaw dropped (no kidding) and I was salivating throughout. He was always my favourite with his naughty and funny and charming personality, learning how his mind worked made him all the more irresistible.

”Does it turn you on to know you hurt me?”
“What? No.” Her voice is the lowest I’ve ever heard.
My little crazy beauty.
“Then is it the prospect of being hurt in return?” My finger traces up and down the skin of her nape, and that’s when I feel the shiver that overtakes her.
When she says nothing, I lean in to whisper, “You don’t have to hide your crazy from me, ma belle. Show it, and I promise to feast on it.”

Teal, ma belle, you broke my heart and put it back together. I knew something must have happened to have made her this way. She was one of the toughest heroine in the series so far. When she was introduced in the series, I was instantly intrigued by her. Her vibe was a little similar to both Aiden and Cole. What made me fall in love with her was how her facade seem to fall apart around Ronan, she was never able to hide from her feelings, he made her feel everything.

”I’ll give you one piece of advice, just because you’re Elsa and Knox’s sister.”
I don’t get a warning before he grabs me by my nape. His hand covers the tiny space, shocking my skin as it wraps around my neck from behind.
The scent of something spicy fills my nostrils as he leans in to whisper against the lobe of my ear. “Run, ma belle.”

Their games started when Ronan asked her to end their engagement but it was out of the question since teal had a plan of her own which simply made Ronan a pawn in the grand scheme of things. The first time he cornered her, you can tell they had off the charts chemistry with how palpable it was.

A death god.
I see it now, his name — the reason he’s nicknamed Death. It’s not because of his playing or any of that. It’s the way he finishes lives without making a sound.
He’s discreet but ruthless.
Appears loveable but is actually domineering.
Death.

What put a obstacle in her plan was how there was more to Ronan than meet the eye. Like I said never underestimate one of the horsemen especially when they are nicknamed death.

As she kneels in front of me, half-naked, her gown bunching around her waist and her huge black eyes staring up at me, I see it.
Her beauty.
It’s a special type, the kind you not only want to stare at but also want to trap somewhere so you’re the only one who sees it. It’s kind of sick, but it fits her.

One moment teal is holding all the cards and the next all the power lies in Ronan’s hands. Teal’s kink was a delicious surprise. The more time they spent together, the more he broke down her walls. Ronan’s text were the sweetest. There was no way teal couldn’t fall for him and trust me it was a beautiful fall. You can’t help but root for them since the start.

”That’s it,” he grunts, trapping his bottom lip under his teeth. “Make my dick nice and wet so I can slide it inside that tight cunt of yours. That cunt wants my dick, doesn’t it, belle?”
A sob tears the air, and I realise it’s mine as I nod. I don’t mean to, but I’m nodding. I can’t stop nodding.
He’s ruining me, corrupting me, and I’m enjoying every second of it.

This was the hottest book in the series honestly. No one can make you feel all hot and bothered like Rina does. She always writes the hottest and the dirtiest sex scenes. I’m always left drooling and squirming for more of her dirty talking heroes. It’s hard to choose a favourite. I’m also happy that this book didn’t feel short, I enjoyed the pace.

I never allowed myself addictions before, because addictions screw you up and mess with your logic and your head.
But as I hug Ronan, I know I have no choice in this addiction. It’s the type you just surrender to. You fall into it and let yourself float.

All am going to say is if you haven’t started this series yet, just DO IT. It is one of the BEST angsty bully romance till date. It will give you all the feels you crave and still leave you begging for more. ♥️

And........... I don't know if this is my last book by Rina Kent. I hated it so much.

I mean, let's start with the obvious and disgusting fact that Teal was having sex with WAY WAY WAY OLDER MEN and thank fucking goodness that was not actually shown but no words. Honestly. And let's say I could try to understand where Teal was coming from but come on, it was illegal (and among all the shit this author has gotten away with, this is just...) and utterly awful.

Look, I haven't been victim of a sexual assault so I don't want to overstep here and maybe judge people for the way they deal with trauma because I know I didn't deal with my stuff the best way possible but this book sets such a horrible precedent with both Ronan and Teal.

And again, you are telling me all this people just turned 18 years old. Right, huh. I just do not know why she can't make them older if they don't act their age anyway. It's stupid. I don't know how these books are marketed as but it is not YA.

Let's talk about the plot for a moment here. Ridiculous, predictable and plain. There was no chemistry between Teal and Ronan and you could totally see the 4 twists coming from a mile -and they were bad.

I remember holding my phone, looking at the words, and thinking "why am I doing this to myself?" and the fact that I'm still a little bit intrigued by Cole and Silver's book when I know it's going to be a disaster and it will probably play with the step-sibling shit.

Look, I know I have read a book or two with the step-sibling dynamic in the past but we need to agree that it invalids the bond between step-siblings by saying shit like "we are not real family". That is not how it works and if we are going to treat it like it's only smut, it's a whole different thing but let's just not be blind. It's all I am saying.

Will I be reading the next book? I don't know. I kinda want to but at the same time I'm not going to put myself in a situation where I'll be hating every second of the story. It is not worth it.

I did not anticipate hating Vicious Prince this much.

”It’s weird, but if you stood at the bottom of a cliff, I would fall over with my eyes closed. Do you know why? Because I know you’d catch me. I know you’d never let me hit the ground or rock bottom or any of that.”

ah! finally a good book! after that shit show with xander mf knight, i deserved a good read.

ronan is the clown of the group, always smiling, always joking, a womanizer and he fucked more girls that i can count. ofc, it’s just a defence mechanism, bc –you know– with rina kent nobody is safe. unfortunately, one night something bad happens and ronan will never be the same.
everyone has their own way to cope with a trauma, or pain and so on. some ppl tend to close in themselves, others fight their demons and again others put on a mask and make ppl laugh. ronan is included in the latter. from the first book, you can easily see it. we also know he’s the party planner of the century and organized all the best parties. it’s bc he likes to be surrounded by ppl. he clearly has abandonment issues.
his lordship is also a really good friend without even trying. he helped aiden and elsa; he stayed with kimmy and helped her and xander getting together (unfortunately). he was always there for his friends. he’s also sweet and thoughtful. i have to complain tho. why he didn’t say a single word in french? i mean in the other books he used to talk in french all the time. here, besides “ma belle” (which is how he calls teal AWWW) he didn’t say anything. i miss his french ugh!

”Ronan is still Ronan with his goofy attitude and tendency to turn every serious situation into a joke, but now I realise it’s part of his defence mechanism. It comes naturally to him, though, and he basks in being the centre of attention.”

teal is elsa’s foster sister and knox’s twin. she likes to put on t-shirts with quotes on them (she reminds me of cecily aww). she’s not the talkative type, she doesn’t care what ppl think, she doesn’t feel how others feel. ofc all of this changes when she meets ronan. they couldn’t be more different but at the same time they share chemistry. also, her fav subject to read or discuss is war. teal is so original and new that it’s like a breath of fresh air.
teal is also the first fmc of the rina kent universe who’s not a virgin. needless to say i appreciated this bc the virgin trope is fucking annoying. that ofc adds interest in her character, which is very different from the previous ones, and that’s why she’s my fav one (from this series) so far.
idk if you know, but i always find hard to like fmcs. authors tend to portray women as weak, fragile ppl who need a man to be complete. i like to think teal is not among these type.

”They look at me like I’m a freak, and I don’t acknowledge them at all. Why? Because I was never interested in fitting in. You can’t covet something you never actually wanted or even thought about. I have my world, and no one is welcome in.”

the romance was great. i liked teal and ronan as a couple. they started as enemies in an arranged marriage. we have teal who wants to marry ronan at all costs (but you don’t know her motives) and–on the other hand– a ronan who wants to break the engagement. they can’t stand each other but somehow they both share the will to destroy the other. this is what brings them closer.
ronan has no pride when it comes to teal. he doesn’t play hard to get, he doesn’t ignore her. instead, he likes to be with her all the time. he’s jealous and even tho at first he wanted to break the engagement, it slowly becomes the one who parades her in front of everyone just to claim her as his. idk why he didn’t think to buy her a tshirt with his name on it…
i’m about to be repetitive like a broken disk but the smut didn’t disappoint once again. the tension between them was chef kiss!

overall, i really enjoyed this book. taking into account xander’s one was shit, i was a little afraid to read about ronan and i really had no clue where the story would lead, but it turned out to be a good surprise.
now it’s cole’s turn. i’m so excited and i’ve been since aiden’s book. i truly hope i won’t get disappointed bc he intrigues me, REALLY intrigues me.

The moment her eyes lock onto mine, it’s like the entire world has hushed into the background. There are no sounds, no colours, and no scents. There’s only her, the girl with odd preferences and a fucking attitude.

My Teal doesn’t usually blush, but when she does, it’s like the world has turned red.

Fuck my pride. I need her like I’ve never needed anything before. I just need to hug her, and that’s it. A hug.

You’re the light despite the darkness. You’re the hope despite the black dots. You’re strong despite the weakness.

What I feel for you is more than love. It’s something overpowering, but also empowering. It’s believing I can be normal even when I don’t know what normal is. It’s smiling and laughing out loud without even realising it. I wish we’d met under different circumstances and with different names. I wish I could wake up to your face every day. If there’s a next life, let’s meet there, okay?

“Stop saying things like that,” I murmur.

“Like what?” He teases my entrance through the cloth and I arch my back. “Like how hard I’m going to fuck you until everyone hears you beg for more? How loud I’m going to make you scream as you come?”

I don't know how many books have this same kind of dialogues.

And why is the body betraying syndrome? It's like reading Elsa and Aiden's books again.

“You’re okay,” he continues. “You’re going to be okay.”

“How do you know that?” I murmur. “How can you be so sure about it?”

“I’m only sure about one thing, and it’s you, Teal. I have no doubt you’ll get through this. Do you know why?”

Something stings my eyes, and I refuse to believe it’s tears. “Why?”

“Because you’re the strongest person I know.”

Was Teal strong? At the beginning of the book Teal acts like she is brave, dark, and strong. She talks about emotion as human emotions as if she is an alien. She goes to a sex club to feel alive, I guess?

But does all these makes her strong? Big fucking no. She is stupid. Towards the end the stunt she pulled was annoying. She thought it was Ronan's father molested her but it was Ronan's uncle, who also molested Ronan. He wanted Ronan but couldn't have him so he molested every little child of whores he could. Girl, do your proper investigation.

And it was revealed then it was solved. I was like where the climax?

Her attitude was irritating and Ronan wasn't any better. He reminded me of Jaime from the The Punk and the Plaything. Just like Jaime who shines in every book but was unable to do on this own, Ronan was the same.

And Teal had a type right? Old, mature man. She had a crush on Agnus. She was sexually molested. She was unable to find sexual satisfaction because of the trauma for years. But then Ronan touched her and she became a sex-crazed lunatic? Is this a joke?

And Ronan's trauma just revealed out of nowhere. It was like the author ran out of ideas, threw a bunch of lame sex scenes which consist foreplay, and the heroine saying "I will be good" because she is a masochist, and a plot that comes up towards the 90% of the book, so basically the whole book is kinda filler because nothing happens. The author handled pedophilia very poorly. I felt sorry for their trauma but I felt no remorse or any connection to them.

If you just want to know the drama read the last 10% because nothing major happens throughout the book. If you think you want to know about romantic development, well there's none.

The only thing I enjoyed Ronan's relationship with Lars, that was the best.

Also, brief moments of Xander and Kim, and the sneak peek of Cole and silver, which I am not very interested now because I realize I didn't actually enjoy any of the author's books except Black Knight which was for two reasons, one is kirian and another one is I was in a good mood.

Everyone has an unicorn author who makes it impossible for the readers to resist their stories or characters. For me, since Aiden, Rina has been *it*. Vicious Prince is a standalone story featuring Death. By now, we have guessed that Teal is the one who brings death a new awakening. And how beautiful their journey is over all. I can't wait for everyone to devour their story.

Ronan Astor, also named Death who pursues relentless leaving only death behind is not what he looks like. Or seems so. A broken heart who looks for love in every Nook and corner, he has been the Prince of Royal Elites. I can't tell much without giving away his story but trust me, if you have enjoyed Aiden and Xander, Astor will sweep you off your toes. And ladies, be ready to swoon over our handsome daredevil. A guy who always makes you laugh and is apparently the joker of the club has so much hurt and grief behind his mask. It was hard to take in. He had a great take at everything. With each approach of life, Teal eventually breaks his walls and soon we find ourselves cheering for this couple.

I'll be honest, I didn't like Teal earlier in the books. The girl was always in mobile with her head low. But as you experiment all the regiments of those scenes, you'll be as shocked as I was. With Astor, she plays. But for how long until one of them has to lose the deal? This was such an interesting experience for me.

Peeling layers had never been an easy task. These two here couldn't be more of a perfect example for us. How to break someone? How to pick the pieces of the heart? Teal and Ronan will guide you through the process. Brace yourself dear heart!!!! Death will rip you into pieces soon....

'they say you should find what you love and keep it close.
The same can be said about what you hate'

I know since the beginning of this series that Ronan was gonna be my favorite ,
and now I'm sure he is.😍
This story was an hurricane of emotions , I can't even describe it.
I was waiting forever for Ronan to show his true colors , and when he did I wasn't ready to take all that .
Under all that smiles there's a force and a calculation that you wouldn't ever imagine , but that's what makes him special . He's good at putting up a show , and he fooled everyone , but in a good way.
He showed that even bunnies can bites
He surely is death ...

i see it now , his name--the reason he's nicknamed Death . It's not because of his playing or any of that. It's the way he finishes lives without making a sound.
he's discreet but ruthless.
Appears lovable but is actually domineering .
DEATH

On the other hand he certainly didn't expected so find someone who was able to see the real him.
The real deal under all that smiling . But he was so wrong.
Teal is one of the most strongest person ever , so enigmatic and so mysterious.
She's almost at Cole's level and not in a good way.
You wouldn't know what's passing in her mind unless she wants you to. Her mask is much more solid than Ronan's .
She likes to play the part of the villain but she's everything but that

'In the end , the hero won't win . The villan will topple everyone's lives over.
What everyone doesn't know is , the villan wasn't always a villain .
Once upon a time , they were a victim .'

She tried trapping him , bringing him to him knees .
He surely obliged but only to his own benefit .😉
She had her secrets and pretty heavy demons in her past ,
but so had he .
TEAL: what makes you think I have a secret?
RONAN : We all do, ma belle . Some are just more destructive than others.

In the end those secrets brought them closer than ever. So much that there were no more walls between them . They were like water and oil but it didn't metter because they were meant to be together .
'NOW AND EVER'

I gave this book absolutely 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ , it deserves them all.
I'm on a rollercoaster of emotions , I need more.
And all the references to Cole and Silver were to much, I CAN'T WAIT ANOTHER MONTH FOR THEIR STORY 😱

4 stars

“Here’s the thing, belle.” My voice drops. “Since you came into my life, I don’t need people anymore. I just need you.”

Me giving a Rina Kent book four stars? Well, that’s a miracle in itself.

I honestly didn’t expect to like this book or the characters. I just dived in headfirst without knowing a single thing about it, and I’m surprised by how much I actually loved and enjoyed it. Rina handled Ronan and Teal’s trauma in such a realistic and grounded way, and I loved how she delved deeper into their backgrounds, showing how their pasts shaped their personalities. The plot was intriguing, and the mystery surrounding what happened to both Teal and Ronan had me hooked.

Ronan is the embodiment of “It’s always the sarcastic and cheerful ones who fight the darkest battles.” I kind of disliked Ronan in the other books. I don’t know why, but his clingy personality and obsession with threesomes always irritated me. I never thought his story would be the one to break me the most in this series. He constantly surrounds himself with people because that’s the only time he doesn’t hate himself—when he doesn’t have to face his demons. Until Teal came into his life. He does so many surface-level things for attention, cracking jokes and acting like the happiest, most carefree person in the room. But in reality, he’s been suffering in silence. He’s the only normal MMC written by Rina so far—well, as normal as he can be. My heart broke for him when he finally opened up to Teal about his past, his coping mechanisms, and the loneliness he’s felt all these years. He always joked about having abandonment issues, and I laughed it off in the previous books—but looking back, he was giving us hints the whole time. I just ignored them because he was so clingy to everyone.

“They said you should find what you love and keep it close. The same can be said about what you hate.”

Teal is the IT girl—the one with a broken heart and a numb personality. She’s had physical relationships with men fifteen years older than her just to feel something that isn’t numbness. She’s the nerd girl with black cat energy—the one who built walls so high around her heart that nobody could climb them. Except Ronan, because he annoys her just as much as she annoys him. She was an anomaly. Until Ronan. I’ve been dying to know more about her ever since she appeared in Elsa’s book. I always had the feeling she was hiding so much pain behind her ‘I don’t give a fuck’ attitude. And I was right. Her story is just as heartbreaking as Ronan’s. She’s been through hell—the absolute worst—but this girl? She’s a warrior. She’s been numb for eleven years, but she knows how to fight her battles. And I loved that about her.

“I never allowed myself addictions before, because addictions screw you up and mess with your logic and your head. But as I hug Ronan, I know I have no choice in this addiction. It’s the type you just surrender to. You fall into it and let yourself float.”

The romance in this book shocked me because of how well done it was. From their very first meeting, I was rooting for Teal and Ronan. They didn’t just have physical chemistry—they had a deep emotional connection. They were the same in so many ways, but also different. Both of them hid their pain behind their personalities. Both of them only dealt with their demons when they were alone.

“You think I’m crazy?” My voice is barely above a whisper, and I hate it.
“I don’t think it. I know it.” This time he does run his finger over my lips as if he’s smearing my lipstick, just like that first time he touched me in the library. “And I want every last bit of your craziness.”

I also liked that Ronan never bullied Teal like the other MMCs in this series. Sure, he was an asshole to her, but only because he wanted her all to himself. He’s also a petty little bitch when it comes to Teal, and I loved that. The way Ronan cared for Teal once he learned about her triggers? Precious. They were both obsessed with each other—possessive, intense, and completely unhinged. They constantly pushed each other to their limits, only to come crashing back together in the end. They complemented each other so well. They forced each other to be vulnerable, to be real, to be their true selves.

“You still want me?”
“Still? Did I ever stop?” He brings my hand to his mouth and brushes his dry lips against the skin. “I’ll never stop wanting you, belle. You’re made for me.”

I cannot wait for Silver and Cole’s book! I just know Cole ‘the petty little bitch’ Nash is going to deliver the “It’s always the quiet ones” energy we deserve.

“Here’s the thing, belle.” My voice drops. “Since you came into my life, I don’t need people anymore. I just need you.”😭

Honestly at this point I’m convinced Rina Kent can’t write a bad book because I ate this book up.

This book was honestly not what I was expecting and as per usual Rina made me laugh, cry and giggle and kick my feet. 👣 This is not what I was expecting from Teal and Ronans book and like all dark romance please check your trigger warnings because this book covers some topics that some people might find hard to read.

The journey these two go on together is *chef kiss* this book does really make you have all the feelings 🥺

Please enjoy some of my favourite quotes below:

I, Ronan Astor, the most attentive lover you could ever find, want to break someone — but not just anyone. Her.

“You don’t have to hide your crazy from me, ma belle. Show it, and I promise to feast on it.”

“Oh, Teal.” I caress her skin, my voice calm and touch gentle though my insides are on fire. “You’re fucked.”

“Mine. Only fucking mine,” he growls before he claims my lips in an animalistic kiss.

“Here’s the thing, belle.” My voice drops. “Since you came into my life, I don’t need people anymore. I just need you.”

Spoilers alert

Okay, i dont know how to review this book because i dont remember what i read. Literally i finished it 2 min ago and i forgot everything because nothing happens in the book. Its like Black Knight all over again but with no logic. There was no bond or connection between Teal and Ronan other than the fact that they were assaulted by the same person and whats with the author writing that everyone in this book has a childhood trauma to make it “dark”. It was all over the place, there wasnt a flow and no balance. Things really didnt make any logic and Teal annoyed me a lot. She does somethings at the end like a stupid girl, and i dont like her. At the beginning she talks like she is not a human, she uses words like “ human emotions” “human feelings” making her seem like she is an Alien. It was weird af.

Their relationship was rushed up, i didnt see the love between them. I really dont know what to say or how to explain since everything went so fast that I couldn’t register what was happening. What i liked about the book was Ronan and Lar’s relationships 😂😂 they were so funny and ofc the friendship between the 4 horsemen. Other than that the book felt flat for me. 2 stars only cuz of Ronan and Lars. Cruel King and Black knight were 5 star read for me but this was turned out to be a disappointment. Seriously, there is no connection between Ronan and Teal, and like 1.5/10% chemistry. Towards the end they break up which seemed forced, it felt like they broke up because in all books people break up and then reunite towards the end. The book started with heartbreak, suspense and suddenly it was hearts and roses and then it was dark and gloomy and then sunshine and roses again. There was no pattern and the characters feelings / what they felt for each other was not clear or well explained. They hated each other and also didnt? It was like Teal wants to ruin Ronan but also says he is the one. Smtg like that. It wasnt explained or easy to acknowledge. As i said, it was really rushed up.

I didnt feel any remorse and anything towards Teal or what happened to her, idk it was written like at the beginning there was that suspense what might have happened to her, then it kept dragging on and Teal throughout the book behaved like something really traumatic happened then at the end she does something really really stupid and finally reveals what happened to her and turns out its something that everyone in the book had already experienced. It wasnt something new, that put me off.

The worst book in the series for me. I honestly felt no real connection or chemistry between them. This book did not feel like the previous books where I truly could feel their emotions for each other. In this book Teal was at first so oblivious to H (I can’t even remember his name!) and then after one physical contact with him she becomes like a sex crazed lunatic. The H was just boring and no way did I feel he loved Teal after not noticing her at all previously. I felt really sorry for their childhood trauma but still I couldn’t like or dislike either of them because I felt no connection to them. I’m now kind of dreading Nash’s book because I really don’t like who I know he is going to end up with. Oh well you can’t like every book by the same author I guess.

Leaving aside the fact that the author is problematic, if you take Broken Knight and Angry God from L.J Shen, put them in the blender and then add some asteroids to it, it would be this book. And I'm not saying this as a good thing because those two books are already kinda bad (I still love Vaughn Spencer tho).

Next topic: I have read six books by this author so far and in all of them there's AT LEAST one shitty parent, a lot of childhood traumas related to the previous point and a feud between families. Is this a cry for help, or is she just out of ideas? I promise you you can write a """dark""" romance without repeating this in all your books because pretty much I could have been reading the same story over and over again but with different characters and really minimal changes.

Ronan and Teal had some cute moments, but the change was SO abrupt idk it felt ooc for me.

I was excited about Cole and Silver's book since the beginning but now after all those little glimpses to their story... yep, I'm scared and not so sure about reading it. Also don't give her a redemption arc??? we love a popular rich bitch, don't be weak

No drama jakich mało XD Ogólnie ten tom był całkiem ciekawy bo trochę odeszliśmy od schematu „on jej nienawidzi i ją dręczy”, więc wow w końcu coś innego.
No to co jeszcze dwie książki i kończymy z moją fav dramą 😭

He doesn’t know that death isn’t a title.
Death is the beginning of every war, and I’ve already started mine.
I stole his will, his future, and soon enough, his life will follow.
I have a secret, I’m a thief.
Ronan Astor is my next target.
As well as my future husband.

Vicious Prince is the fifth book of the Royal elite series by the best selling author Rina kent. Told in dual perspectives , this book is hot with a capital H !!!!

The much awaited story of Teal and Ronan is finally here!! I can't even tell you people for how long I have been waiting for this release , and when it came on my kindle this morning , I dived straight into this one.

Teal is the foster sister of Elsa. She is the emo girl and the girl who rarely shows emotions. Ronan is the real fraud of the elite kings. From the outside you see a man trying to shag his way through college , and a man without any actual depth. He is the best imposer of them all. The pain he hides even shocked me. My heart hurt so much for him!! Also his humor had me laughing so hard all the damn times!!

I brush my teeth and pay a morning tribute to Ron Astor the Second. Yes, that’s my dick’s name, and yes, I always need to give him the morning routine. Usually, there’s a girl’s mouth willing to ease him into the day, but today he had to restart his affair with my hand.

Roman's father and Elsa's father want a better relationship by making the ties between their families even stronger. For this they decide an arranged marriage scenario. As Elsa already Loves Aiden , Teal steps in her place to marry Ronan. Her actions confused everyone , but what they didn't know was that she had a Endgame. One that included destroying her enemies.

What she didn't count on was the playboy with shaggy brown hair. She dismissed Ronan as a pawn in her game and then was shocked when he turned out to be much more. Ronan wanted the engagement to end and for that he wanted Teal to surrender. Teal wanted the opposite. From there started a battle of wills , and who makes whom surrender fastest!!

He’s a pawn, just a damn pawn.
But sometimes, pawns can flip the entire game.

Ronan thought he could bend Teal to his will. But she managed to shock him a lot. At first he thought that she was just an emo girl who didn't know how to socialize or show emotions. But when he went to know her more, he realised that there was a lot more to her !! Both of them had a lot of common demons and her beauty intrigued him.

Her beauty.
It’s a special type, the kind you not only want to stare at but also want to trap somewhere so you’re the only one who sees it.
It’s kind of sick, but it fits her.
Everything about her is beautiful.

This book was everything I anticipated and much more. I absolutely loved the bond the elite kings had. Specifically the bond between Xander and Ronan. It was so endearing to see how much Ronan wanted Xander's approval and his presence in his life.

I felt kind of empty when he went to rehab. Of course, I’ll never admit that to the fucker or he’ll record it and show it to my great-grandchildren.

Then there was Aiden with his usual brooding self. I don't think I will ever tire of seeing him pamper and love Elsa. Those were one of my favourite scenes.

Aiden— Elsa’s boyfriend — is the tall, dark, and handsome type, and he’s playing the role with that scowl that says Come close and I’ll slaughter your family tree. It’s why the onlooking students admire him from afar, not daring to get in his way. For Aiden, only one person exists in the female population — or the entire population, actually — and it’s my foster sister.

This was the book where we got to see the most of cole. For me atleast , he was a mystery in the rest of the books. There were very few scenes of him and he was sort of in the background. Teal and Cole had a special relationship , much to Ronan and Silver's disgust. Both of them had bonded over the love of books and articles. Cole was a true nerd!! Almost all of his scenes consisted of him sitting somewhere and reading a book. His nerd activities were really cute for me!!😂😂

This has to be the longest review I have ever written, but I just can't stop telling you guys about this book!! Rina kent has done an amazing job once again. Now all I have to do is to wait for Cole's book. It seems like Rina Kent is saving the best for the last!! I just hope she has some mercy on my poor soul and somehow gives us an early release for Cole's book!😌💓

FIVE ANGST STARS for Teal and Ronan 💛🖤💛🖤!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The book left me speechless...

Honestly, I imagined Ronan's book completely differently and Rina surprised me from the very beginning to the very end of the book.

Even in my wildest dreams, I would not expect such action as Rina put in this book.

Rina has shown again that she is a skilled writer because she has once again proved that no matter how many books a series of her has, every book has special actions, especially characters that are hard to get out of your head.

"Vicious Prince" is a dark bully high school romance with arranged marriage and enemies to lovers tropes.

Teal is a female character that touched my heart. She is a character you will not often meet in books. Her past really broke my heart.

Ah, Ronan.

He completely surprised me!

I expected his playful side throughout the whole book, but I got a character who, with the help of a smile, hid his true face and the past that held him back every day.

At first, I couldn't imagine Teal and Ronan together, but through this book, I realized that their relationship really makes sense because they are so different, and yet so similar.

If you loved previous books from the "Royal Elite" series, then this is definitely a book you NEED to read next!!!

Highly recommended!!!

P.S. Can't wait for Silver and Cole's book!
