UNRAVELED

Rate this book
Everyone she loved was taken. But with each thread pulled, she only tightened her grip and refused to let go.

Orphaned in her youth, Lexi endures repeated loss and betrayal by those who once claimed to love her. Left to support her younger siblings and survive in a world that seems determined to crush her, she begins to question her ability to withstand the strike of life’s cruel hammer with each merciless blow.

But just when the world threatens to obliterate her, she turns to something greater than herself — and discovers a reservoir of hope in a hailstorm of miracles that alters her perspective and changes everything.

Told in the timeless style of a classic novel, UNRAVELED beautifully weaves the innocence of childhood memories and experiences, with the shocking twists of adult responsibilities thrust prematurely on the unprepared, and garnishes it with a generous sprinkling of romance, humor, God, and grit. It is a fictionalized autobiographical journey through the extraordinary events of what should have been an ordinary life, but wasn't, and exposes the harsh reality that what we think our life is, could unravel in an instant. It is a deeply moving, relatable, and motivational story about the fierce tenacity of a girl who refuses to give up – no matter what life takes from her.

What a ride!

This book was a commitment of time, however I also found myself committed to the author and learning her life as she told it. Her masterful writing made me feel as though I hovered above her and watched her life unfold. The good, the bad and the ugly was laid out as part of the bumpy ride called life.

I knew this author in high school and while our paths never crossed after graduation, I find myself now wanting to go to her and give her a huge hug and tell her how worthy she is of all the Lord’s blessings.
I laughed, I cried and felt anger on her behalf. I marveled at her recollections of the small south Jersey town we grew up in and enjoyed taking the trip down memory lane. Knowing that this was a work of historical fiction did not stop me from grabbing my yearbooks and trying to make the character connections.
There are many lessons learned in this book but the one that will stick with me is; “There is always another way.”

This book is powerful, honest, and deeply moving. Through thoughtful and courageous storytelling, the author explores resilience, faith, family dynamics, and the long, often complicated journey of finding your voice after difficult and painful experiences. The writing is raw without being overwhelming, reflective without losing strength, and grounded in a sense of clarity that feels earned rather than forced.

What makes this book especially impactful is how relatable it is—many readers will recognize their own emotions, struggles, and questions within these pages, even if their circumstances are different. It’s a story about endurance, self-reflection, boundaries, and standing firmly in your truth while continuing to move forward. This is a meaningful, inspiring read that stays with you long after the final page.
