This was a solid piece of history, detailing the forces and motivations that drew Midwestern Indigenous communities to move to Chicago during and after WWII, and the corresponding community that they built up and how they engaged with urban life. The book itself is fairly dry and I wish it extended past 1975, it felt like an arbitrary cutoff point that narrows the analytical capacity of this book. But still useful and I did learn some about Chicago urban Native history!
