Tere Michaels unofficially began her writing career at the age of four when she learned that people got paid to write stories. It seemed the most perfect and logical job in the world and after that, her path was never in question. (The romance writer part was written in the stars—she was born on Valentine’s Day.)

It took thirty-six years of “research” and “life experience” and well… life… before her first book was published but there are no regrets (she doesn’t believe in them). Along the way, she had some interesting jobs in television, animation, arts education, PR, and a national magazine—but she never stopped believing she would eventually earn her living writing stories about love.

Her home base is a small town in New Jersey, very near NYC, a city she dearly loves. She shares her life with her husband, her son—who is also her personal trainer—and an exceedingly spoiled cat. Her spare time is spent watching way too much sports programming, going to the movies and for long walks/runs in the park, reading, and doing yoga.

Nothing makes her happier than knowing she made a reader laugh or smile or cry. It’s the purpose of sharing her work with people. She loves hearing from fans and fellow writers and is always available for speaking engagements, visits, and workshops. Send her a message through her contact page or connect with her on Instagram (@TereMichaels) and Facebook.

She teaches regularly at SavvyAuthors, as well as running a private consulting and developmental editing business.

warning, this book just kinda ends in the middle of the story and the 3rd book isn't out yet... i was in the airport, it was quite and there was my wail, of "no! why would you do that!" lol. I loved it though and i can't wait to find out what happens! i am digging the way this story is being told. the 1st book is about finding your passion for life again. and the next book is about the object that spawned the new zest for life and theater. while this is a love story between people, it still feels like it is ultamately a love story between you and what make you happy. so far the journey has been uplifting in a totally unexpected way and even though this book ends on a note of uncertainty, the vibes lead me to believe there is a happy ending coming, if i can just be patient enough, lol.

This book picks up where book one leaves off. This book tells the backstory of Finn and Theo who wrote Detour. I liked reading how the two of them met and their relationship.

The book ends in a bit of a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book. I really want to know what happens!!!

In the first book in Tere Michaels’ Broadway or Bust series a jaded Broadway musical director Luca and a group of theater students are snowed in and find a never produced play. After discussing it with one of his mentors, he decides to option the play. He begins to feel excitement for the first time in a while. His first step is to get the rights to the play which was written by two college students. I thought going in that the book would be about Luca’s life and while it does give details about his attempts to get the show going, it is primarily the beginning of the story of the two playwrights. Finn Novis is an outgoing, self-assured actor and Theo Krebble is an introverted writer. Although they are completely different, they begin a relationship that get serious quickly. The story is told in flashbacks to Theo and Finn’s college relationship. I loved the first book in the series and eagerly awaited this book. It ends on a major cliffhanger (which is usually the kiss of death for me) and the next book is not out yet. I am not sure my wait will be patient! I cannot wait to see what is next for Theo, Finn and Luca. Even though it ends on a cliffhanger, I do recommend this book. Maybe you will be fortunate to read after the next book is out.

I did a quick re-read of Snowmageddon and then dove into Overture. I read this in an afternoon. The feels, the roller-coaster of emotions and then that dang ending! I was sort of thinking this would be more of Luca's story, but it's better. It's the story of Finn and Theo, 2 freshmen who meet in college, both theatre majors who fall in love. I was team Theo from the beginning. Finn, not so much. This story is from Theo's point of view, and omg the heart break. Book 3, Detours, the play they wrote together, is coming out soon. I'm not convinced Finn can be redeemed in my heart.
