Buenísimo. Premisa súper intrigante, dibujo extraordinario y muchas ganas de seguir con esta historia de sectas, asesinstos y mucho más verdaderamente macabra

Smiley immediately grabbed my attention with its unsettling atmosphere and disturbing psychological tension. Instead of relying only on horror, the story explores something even more frightening: how vulnerable people can become when they are searching for hope, belonging, or a purpose in life.

Kamome is a fascinating protagonist. His ambition and desperation make him easy to understand, even when his choices become increasingly dangerous. Watching him slowly get involved with the mysterious Smiley cult creates a constant feeling of suspense, making every chapter more unsettling than the last.

One of the manga's greatest strengths is its criticism of blind faith and manipulation. It raises important questions about how charismatic groups can exploit emotional pain, loneliness, and personal tragedies. The cult never feels exaggerated because its methods are frighteningly believable.

The artwork perfectly complements the story. Every smile feels unnatural, every expression carries hidden meaning, and the contrast between ordinary daily life and pure psychological horror is brilliantly executed.

Original, thought-provoking, and incredibly addictive, Smiley is a fantastic first volume that left me eager to discover the truth behind its disturbing mystery. ★★★★☆ (⊙_◎)

An eerie story about a freelance reporter being sucked deeper and deeper into the world of a freakish cult obsessed with projecting smiles. Yuushi Kamome is a freelance journalist still reeling from death of his young daughter in a fatal traffic collision. Subsequently his wife left him, unable to deal with his depressed state. Now, on the verge of returning to work he comes across a religious cult known as the Smiling Hearts Society attempting to recruit him. While dismissing them he's shocked to discover his wife's face on their flyers. So begins an elaborate investigation in this secret society that seems to have people everywhere.

An interesting premise. Vol 1 did a great job of sucking me into this conspiracy that seems to have multiple layers of all the characters Kamome encounters. The artwork, particularly the freakish smiles on those cult members is quite memorable. I'm definitely drawn in to see what happens next.
