Echoes of Another Sky

Rate this book
Perrin is twelve years old when he learns that his life has been shaped by choices he never consented to. His father, Reynard, altered him in secret, believing he was protecting his son from certain death. His mother, Kimi, a powerful security officer, believes those same changes make Perrin a resource to be controlled.

When the truth comes out, Perrin is forced to leave everything familiar behind. Guided by his cautious, brilliant father, he moves through hidden passages and trusted allies, always one step ahead of the forces trying to claim him. Perrin initially survives by following instructions, trusting others to decide what is best for him. Along the way, they are joined by ARI, an artificial intelligence designed to protect Perrin at all costs. Even that may not be enough.

As the journey carries him far beyond Earth, Perrin begins to take control of the decisions shaping his future. The mother he remembers is gone, changed in ways that may never be undone. To secure his freedom, Perrin must stop running and decide who he is willing to become, risking a final confrontation in a city built on secrecy, where loyalty is fragile and truth is dangerous.

Echoes of Another Sky is a standalone science fiction novel about identity, family, and the cost of choosing your own path in an uncertain and ever-changing world.

This book tells the powerful story of Perrin, a 12-year-old boy whose world is turned upside down in the blink of an eye. From the very beginning, I was excited to learn what would happen next. The story sparked my curiosity about science and space while keeping me fully engaged through constant tension and discovery.

What stood out most to me was the determination of the characters. Each one has their own passions and inner drive that keep them moving forward, even in the face of danger and uncertainty. Perrin’s intelligence is presented as both a gift and a burden—something that sets him apart but also causes great pain. That balance made his journey feel honest and deeply human.

At its heart, this story reflects something we all experience at some point in our lives: standing at a crossroads of identity, searching for destiny, wrestling with choices, and facing the consequences that come with them. The emotional intelligence woven into the story continues to grow with each experience, making the lessons and reflections meaningful for readers of all ages.

The action-packed journey keeps the pages turning, while the deeper themes give the story lasting impact. I give this book 5 stars because it is relatable, thought-provoking, and inspiring. I would absolutely love to continue reading about Perrin and follow him further on his journey.
