I haven't read many books that address biblical unity well, but Pricelis challenges the reader in the best ways. Her teaching isn't about a political stance or personal agenda. It's about obeying God's Word...and to me, that is what this sets her book apart and makes it essential to read.

This book is divided into three sections - rejecting the anti-gospel, practicing biblical unity, and returning to the gospel together. Parts of her teaching are personal: what can I do to bring about true unity in the diverse body of Christ? Others are for the church: how are we welcoming to diverse members? Some of her points are concerns I've had, but never took action towards. Now I'm inclined to do something and advocate for these needs.

Pricelis doesn't sugar-coat the truth or necessary steps. She says it like it is. That can seem uncomfortable, but it's needed if we're going to follow God's commands to pursue unity.

Let me preface this by saying that you don't need to agree with every point in this book in order to benefit from it as a whole. In fact, that is precisely the point. When Christians gloss over real differences for the sake of perceived unity, we can lose something meaningful in striving for a false peace that doesn't endure. Instead, the author calls Christians toward authentic relationship-building, which starts with living out biblical truth in love. In rejecting worldly ideologies that promise solutions yet are empty without God, readers are called to embody a faith that is both challenging and uncomfortable.

The reflection questions and action steps reinforce each chapter's message, directly providing us with ways to practice discernment and unity within our churches and communities. I love that this book establishes how proper doctrine must feed into right living, making it clear that truth and justice go hand in hand. It is a convicting book that can confront our notions of social justice by having us better understand our neighbours. Seeing others through the eyes of God is what can bring about lasting, brotherly peace. Readers concerned about how best to address disagreements within the body of Christ and how to live peaceably with all people will benefit from picking up this useful guide filled with personal lived experiences, stories, and Scripture that paint a compelling picture of true unity.

Where was this book a year ago? This is a fantastic resource for those seeking to understand the complexities within the current evangelical church and the polarization of our political divide seeping into churches. I love @pricelispd comments on we as Christians needing to come to a place of unity and not uniformity when we encounter another Christian that holds a different view and look at them as brothers and sisters in Christ rather than the current narrative of a heretic or “wolf in sheep’s clothing”.
