My fiancé and I had access to the early reading list for this book and what a blessing that was. Heather’s experience as a pelvic floor therapist has allowed her to craft a very intentional and well thought out book for people in all stages of their relationship. Whether single, engaged, or married - this book has something for you.

Me and my fiancé decided to read it to prepare for intimacy in marriage and this book helped heal parts of our story that we didn’t even know needed healing! Heather gives a couple questions throughout each chapter and this sparked really great conversation between us. Not only did we learn what true intimacy is, but we were able to walk away with how to apply it and I was challenged to allow even more space for true intimacy in our relationship. Our relationship, not only with each other, but with God grew throughout reading this book and I know it will do the same for you!

It's a LOVELY and IMPORTANT book that I wish had been written years ago. Not only is it written from a Christian perspective but by a pelvic floor specialist who does not resort to platitudes or cliches.

I found myself stunned multiple times thinking, "why don't we talk about this more?"

This would make a wonderful addition to any married persons library but it would make an even better wedding/engagement gift. Not only is full of pratical and spiritual wisdom, but it has reflection questions, diagrams and helpful extra resources for those who desire to dive deeper.

You won't regret buying this one!

Notable quotes:

"I have spent the majority of my two decades as a pelvic floor physical therapist helping women make the transition from their mindset before marriage to a new mindset after marriage."

"Talking about sex isn't just about the physical act. It touches our emotional, psychological, spiritual, and relational well-being. It's deeply connected to our identity and our relationship with God."

"It's not about waiting for the "real thing" to begin once the bedroom door closes. It's about weaving intimacy into the fabric of your everyday life, so that by the time you're alone together, you're already deeply connected."

“The world we enter in Song of Solomon is tender and intimate, without a single microwave or crock pot.”

A great read by Heather Marra! I highly recommend this to newly-weds, oldie-weds, nearly-weds, and all the singles out there. Heather brings so much encouragement and scriptural truth as she unpacks Biblical sexuality. This book is a light in the darkness of our sexually saturated and intimacy starved culture. Heather addresses shame around sexuality and finding joy in how God made us to be intimate in relationship with Himself and with our spouse. She provides a detailed anatomy lesson so we can better understand the body we live in and how it works together for our joy and God’s glory. There are reflection questions to get you thinking and challenging what and why you believe about your body, your sexuality, and what intimacy really means. It’s all founded on the Bible and written in a very easy to read way. It’s for all the ladies and the fellas can learn some things too! Singles out there, don't be shy, this is also for you. If you aren’t a person of faith there is still so much practical information in here for you as sexual pain and stress affects everyone. Y’all really should read this book!

I had the honor to read the early release of this book. Heather is not only a gifted pelvic floor therapist, she is a gifted writer. This book is both educational and inspirational. Heather has such a loving tone while teaching us the depth of our mind, body, and soul and how it is all intended as a joyful gift from God to allow deep respectful connections with the one we choose to share our life.
