A hot and passionate one night stand with a stranger... then first day of your internship and your new boss is the same woman you let it all go with.
Dr. Lillian Harrington has grown up under the weight of a legendary name. The youngest daughter in a dynasty of surgeons, she’s determined to prove she belongs in the operating room on her own merit. But being a first-year intern means endless shifts, impossible expectations—and the shadow of her mother’s legacy looming over every decision.
When she downloads a dating app for one anonymous night of escape, she doesn’t expect to meet the woman who will upend everything. Confident. Older. Devastatingly alluring. Their chemistry is immediate and unforgettable.
The next morning, Lillian walks into the hospital and discovers the The woman from that night is Dr. Rebecca Lang—the infamously cold, brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon assigned as her mentor.
What follows is a storm of forbidden attraction, tension, and slow-burn longing. Rebecca fights to maintain her professional distance, but Lillian’s warmth and determination begin to thaw the Ice Queen’s carefully constructed walls. Between long nights in surgery, whispered hallway glances, and the fear of risking everything for love, both women must decide if their hearts are worth the gamble.
Steamy, emotional, and full of heart, Dr. Lillian Harrington is the first standalone romance in The Harrington Surgeons Series—where brilliant women heal others, break rules, and discover that love can be the most powerful cure of all.

A HOT one night stand is memorable. But when Lillian finds that R is Dr. Rebecca Lang her mentor. She's not sure what will happen because Rebecca is an Ice Queen. But Rebecca can't stay away from Lillian. This is a steaming HOT age gap/Ice Queen love story!! I love this story!! 5 stars!!
A delightful, imaginative piece that filled my soul.
Margaux Fox is a wonderful writer whose skill is imaginative and filled with humor and heat! Her settings are varied and thoughtful. The characters in this story are intense women full of skills that are rich and thought provoking. Happily I have the privilege of knowing women like them. The heat between characters is intense and oh so enjoyable to read. Luxuriate in the experience!
I really enjoyed this one, the beginning of a new series based in a hospital. Who doesn't love Ice Queen surgeons and lovely intakes of new interns. Dramatic medical issues add to the tension. Plenty of interesting characters, sisters and dominating parents, I look forward to the next one.
I thoroughly enjoyed the core story and found the plot to be genuinely interesting and engaging. The premise had a lot of potential, and it was this potential that kept me reading until the very end, eager to see how everything would resolve.
However, the execution fell short for me. The novel would have greatly benefited from more thorough editing. I noticed several inconsistencies in the plot and character details throughout the book. Furthermore, the narrative often felt repetitive, with explanations and phrases recurring to the point where it seemed like I was re-reading passages. The prose was overly redundant, spending too much time on explanations that hindered the story's pace and failed to fully engage me. By the final chapters, I found myself skimming through the dialogue just to reach the conclusion.
There were also significant missed opportunities to explore deeper conflicts. The story introduced a substantial age gap between the protagonists, even mentioning that the love interest was a contemporary of the main character's mother, but this fascinating social and personal dilemma was never properly addressed. Similarly, the power dynamic of a superior being involved with their intern/trainee—a relationship fraught with professional complications—was glossed over without any meaningful discussion.
In conclusion, this is a story with a strong and captivating foundation, but its impact is diluted by repetitive writing, a lack of pacing, and unexplored thematic depth.
A nice sapphic rom com with nice steamy bits. There were continuity errors that were just sloppy. Lillian's eyes were green in the first half of the book and blue in the second half. Really? Come on. And by the fifth time I read that another woman's gown "clung to her figure in all the right places" I was rolling my eyes. Is this stuff AI generated? It's not decently edited, at the very least. Oh well, it's like popcorn. I'll probably munch mindlessly on the next one too.
A perfect read to end the day for two nights. Can Lillian get Rebecca to surrender? Or will an ice queen and workaholic stay stuck in the same pattern? Sometimes love needs patience and honesty to grow.
