I was really looking forward to loving this book. The first half of the book was really interesting and kept me engaged. At some point, I felt like I was rooting for Boss and his team. I really didn’t care for Naliaka because it seemed like people were around to just serve and worship her because of her beauty. I caught a couple of stray quotation marks. Did Jonte really have to die? I was rooting for him. Page 454: “What something?” Cecilia was looking at her. This was supposed to be Selina was looking at her.
The last part of the book felt rushed. I wish it hadn’t considering the first half of the book the author had gone in too much details and everything was covered in length.
By the time I was done reading the book, I was so disappointed. The suspense leading to betrayal and all the chaos along Kirinyaga Road was so exciting only for it to be wrapped up so quickly.
I have a couple of questions on areas I felt weren’t covered by the end of the book. 1) So Naliaka just moved on to Samuel? 2) All of a sudden Boss has feelings for someone else yet only a few days ago her was still into Naliaka? 3) What did Naliaka plan to do with Queen’s house? What happened to the girls? 4) Did Julia leave the business? 5) Did Boss ever go back to criminal life? 6) Does this mean there’s going to be a book 2
I was hoping to give it a higher rating but I was just confused by the end. It covered interesting and heavy concepts and I enjoyed how some concepts. Just disappointed that there were so many gaps in the end.

I really loved this book. It kept me hooked from start to finish. I also enjoyed how big it was - it didn’t end as quickly as most do which was wonderful. Loved that Naliaka got a happy ending though I wish she’d have ended up with Boss!
