It's a dangerous gift—the ability to absorb divine contracts and swallow another's sin. When her grandmother dies and passes down five years of debt to the Seven Houses, Raven has no choice but to answer the summons. The first collector is Croesus, the Angel of Greed, who rules a kingdom of gold and emptiness. He expects another soul to claim. He doesn't expect her.
She's immune to his seductions, resistant to his power, and looking at him like he's a puzzle to solve rather than a god to worship. Working beside him to break contracts and steal souls from rival angels, Raven uncovers a truth that changes her grandmother didn't just owe a debt. She was murdered for what she knew.
Now someone is hunting angel-blooded humans, and Raven might be next. Seven Houses. Seven deadly angels. And a year of service that will either destroy her—or make her something even monsters should fear.

i picked this up because a few people raved about a 36 year old fmc and was thrilled, over 30 is my favorite heroine, but she definitely read like your standard 20 year old RH fmc.
after the 65% mark i started seeing more noticeable type errors and annoying repetition
Stumbled apon this book, and after skimming the blurb pick it up. Unfortunately I didn't get the part that said this was a RH series that I openly stated isn't my cup of tea
That said I must confess that I didn't finish the book, I just stopped when the harem part took form. For me this book ended with all of them reaching an agreement, that enables Raven to "serve" the other houses but still lives with Croesus, has a relationship with him. Is still reaching the fall. Like a contractor on call just for that house during that year. She will be the reason other Angel can see they can have "love" in their life in their on twisted ways, and every angel will find their other half.
That said Croesus and Raven story is a train wreck we can't look away, the angst, the need, the eminent doom they face with their days counted. (The fact that this beautiful broken connection evolved to RH, doesn't Clic with me)

I really liked the premise, unfortunately the writing style wasn't for me. It was description heavy, and a bit repetitive. The author would try to convey how the character was feeling by describing something at length and then conclude the description by naming exactly how the character was feeling. Have a little dialogue, and then rinse and repeat a few times. I could have kept going if it happened once per situation but we're still in the same hallway and she's told me 5 times already how the FMC is feeling.
Sin Eater Raven has inherited her grandmother's contracts and must fulfill them before she can be free again. Starting at the House of Gold with the angel of greed, she must learn to navigate through the machinations of a 3000 year old being without losing herself, and she'll have 6 more houses of sin after that. I loved it and will be looking forward to the nest book!
One of my new favorite series I can't wait until book 2! I loved the plot and the idea of the 7 deadly sins being manifested into men. All around a great read. Halfway through the book I did notice 3 typos but other than that perfection!
