This book was a major disappointment to me for a lot of reasons, some objective, many more subjective. Let's dive in:
OBJECTIVE ISSUES
1 - Rushed, underdeveloped and discarded concepts
As this major arc of the story comes to a close, the full impact of this issue truly reveals itself.
A big criticism of earlier novels was that they jumped from one completely different concept and setting to another, abandoning everything built up before and keeping only Mark and Mime as a common thread. Interesting concepts, like Mark's alchemical abilities, for example, get huge prominence in part of one novel, and then, in that same novel, they're abandoned for something different.
It's shiny object syndrome. The author picks up one shiny, interesting thing, plays with it until a new shiny object catches his interest, then abandons it to play with that. As this story arc comes to a close, he's left with a collection of shiny, unconnected concepts, most of which either haven't been developed properly or were explored so long ago that it is hard to remember why they were important in the first place.
A great example is the many martial arts Mark learns throughout this series. The first art was important in one book, forgotten for several more, reintroduced in a recent book, then underdeveloped to the point where they could have been removed from this series entirely and it would be all the better for it.
By the end of this novel, so many concepts, worldbuilding elements, tertiary characters, and story threads were either underdeveloped or abandoned that the story feels like a jumbled mess.
2 - Pacing
When facing pacing issues, I like to use a train analogy.
If a story's plot is a train track, then a novel's pacing is how quickly a train moves along those tracks towards the final destination. If you don't stop at enough stations along the way to explore, you get to the end quickly, but at the expense of enjoying the journey. On the other hand, if you spend too much time at each stop, it doesn't matter how interesting each stop was because your overall journey progresses so slowly that it seriously affects your experience.
Normally that analogy explains most pacing problems, but here I have encountered a new one. In this novel, the plot isn't one long train track, but a series of short tracks headed in different directions. The story doesn't know which tracks lead to the final destination, so it jumps all over the place trying to find the right way to go.
This creates a confusing jumble of journeys, taking the reader all over the place without any sense that they're headed in the right direction, until suddenly the train pulls into the final station. This creates an awkward situation where the journey drags on so long you feel you might never reach the end, then the final destination appears out of nowhere.
3 - Lack of Character Work
The biggest issue with this series is a lack of character work for everyone other than Mark. When characters and relationships are introduced, barely developed, and then discarded for whole novels, there is no substance to rely on when those characters/relationships are needed later in the story.
I don't feel any chemistry between Mark and his allies. We see so little of him actually being friends with them, and so little of him building a relationship with Phoenix, that when those relationships need to mean something to the story, they absolutely don't.
Without good characters and well-developed relationships, the story simply doesn't have any emotional weight.
SUBJECTIVE ISSUES
1 - The "Everyone Overpowered" Trope
I love a good Overpowered Protagonist story so much that I have read countless novels about them. By far the most familiar trope that does my head in is what I'm calling the "Everyone Overpowered" trope.
This is where the author reaches a point where the protagonist is about to overtake the power level of the other characters in the novel, and rather than deal with that new paradigm, the author levels everyone up to maintain the status quo.
Suddenly, the very thing that makes the OP protagonist story interesting, a unique individual achieving his uniquely outrageous potential, becomes watered down by all of the main characters getting a similar potential.
For friends and loved ones, it's always written as though a power imbalance in the protagonist's favour will mean their relationships can no longer work. Besides that obviously not being true when the balance was in their favour, it completely misses the point of what relationships offer. Relationships work because people bring different things to the table, not because the parties are equal in every way. Just because Lois Lane can't fly around the world in a blink of an eye doesn't mean she doesn't bring something to the table in terms of love, support, intellect, a tenacious investigative talent and the ability to ground Superman in the Clark Kent persona, to name just a few elements. She doesn't need to be as powerful as Superman for the relationship to work, and the same is true for all of the other relationships in his life.
And as for the antagonists... I get it. The common argument is that there is no conflict left if the antagonist can't realistically challenge the protagonist in a one-on-one battle. But that argument is based on the faulty logic that the only kind of conflict that can drive a story is physical confrontation. There are many different types of conflict that can create very real stakes in a story; it just requires creativity to explore those concepts and make them work.
The final problematic effect of the "Everyone Overpowered" trope is that it dilutes what makes an OP protagonist story great. It is perfectly summarised by the Incredibles villain, Syndrome:
2 - Not seeing any actual change in the protagonist
I know, this sounds crazy because we saw Mark get unbelievably powerful throughout this series... Right?
Well, we saw his powers evolve, but beyond superficial changes to what he could do, we don't see a difference in how he behaves or how he overcomes problems. When you finish the first book with Mark having the power to just about overcome a foe after great difficulty, and you end the last book with Mark having just enough power to overcome a foe after great difficulty, you don't really feel a substantive change.
The same is true for how he interacts with people. I didn't get the impression that the Mark at the end of the book was drastically different to the Mark at the end of book one. In that first novel, he makes 90% of his personality growth, then basically coasts through the rest of the story, picking up just enough power to match the increasing difficulty of the situations he finds himself in.
I'm never actually convinced that Mark is fundamentally changing. The best example of this is his thousand minds ability. This ability would have such a profound impact on a person's behaviour that they would almost feel like a completely different person. The shift from processing a single thought at a time to processing thousands of thoughts simultaneously would affect every aspect of your being. You wouldn't just solve problems quicker, you'd likely get impatient with the people who can't think as fast, normal conversations would be torture, you'd seem to others like you are constantly jumping between different topics and can't think straight, and so much more.
I never felt anything like that. Every mega upgrade Mark gets has zero impact on who he is, how he behaves, or how the world interacts with him, beyond the superficial change of him actually having the power.
OVERALL VERDICT
This series had a huge amount of potential, and I liked a lot of elements that could have worked really well. However, the execution was always lacking, and as we approach this final book, it simply can't pull everything together in a genuinely satisfying way.
It's a massive shame.

This was a pretty solid ending to a good series, however, it struggles with pacing. The last book feels rushed and could have used another 100 pages or so to work. As is there are too many plot threads that need to be addressed and so each of them is addressed a bit too briefly. This leads to a feeling of nothing ever really being a struggle and the conclusion being forgone since we are not given enough time to stew in the the struggle/potential for defeat.
You end up with an ending that although does fulfill all of the major plots, is done in such a way that the win feels both inevitable and a bit of deus ex machina since the final powers used are either barely introduced a few chapters earlier or not introduced at all until the final fight.
The book is still enjoyable but this book is definitely the weakest in the series.

The ending 😭
The author left me on the cliff with no mercy. So much was left to be explored and then it just ended. I really wanted to see more of the other civilizations, especially since they were alluded to and we kept getting little signs that there was so much more outside of what Mark knew. I genuinely thought the series was building toward us finally reaching that point.
And Phoenix… omg. I’m just going to assign the best possible scenario in my head because I need closure there.
I did still really enjoy this series overall. Watching Mark go from basically just trying to survive to becoming insanely powerful while slowly uncovering how messed up the city and the people running it actually were was a lot of fun. There were constantly new enemies, powers, reveals, and bigger problems being thrown at him, so the books were really easy to fly through.
I just wish the ending had given us a little more time to actually see the wider world the series spent so long hinting at. 💗

For those familiar with Ring's Nova Terra series, you likely are going to feel similar at the end of this book as with that series. While this seems to be the last book in what I would call Phase I, there is A LOT left unexplored in this world, including an ambiguous (although it seems recently certain) ending.
If you made it this far in the series, you aren't going to stop now. I don't have much to say about this other than it is very similar to the last book, and ultimately, the characters are so different from where they were in book one in such a short amount of time that I didn't really have much connection with them anymore. This is something I've said about Ring's series frequently. They are soooo good at the start but they just can't be sustained. Every main character turns into a being that is the most powerful known being in that general area. The power levels no longer matter or make sense. It is just a foregone conclusion that the good guys will win and there will be some trickery.
I think this series peaked at book 2, when we had a robust slate of characters who were developed well and we hadn't quite looked under the hood yet. Once we got a look, it wasn't quite as interesting as I hoped. I will concede that since this story centers around the supposed last holdout of humanity, and the surrounding areas is filled with deadly monsters, I can't fault Ring for not getting us back out into the open world much. On the other hand, I think we are about to be 'Towered' (i.e., Phase II a la the Tower series building off of Nova Terra), so it feels more like Ring was saving some of the bigger secrets to tease out in the next series.
This is a short book when it comes to modern fantasy. Go ahead and finish it up and then see if you are interested in the next series Ring pens. I think he averages about 4 books a year so you have a lot of options.
TL;DR: Ring is Lit-RPG's James Patterson. The guy's catalogue is filled with fun books that lack substance. This is no different. I was barely engaged by the book's end but the series started strong. Unless the inevitable companion spin-off series bucks the trend and becomes some mega-hit, this is a series you can skip.

This book is a truly abysmal finish to the Exlian Syndrome series. Seth must have been in a rush to get this one out because nothing about this book feels finished. The writing is sloppy, the beats are predictable, and he seems to be trying to speed run every trope by the end of the book.
Mark is completely invulnerable at this point so there are absolutely no stakes to any fight. Similarly none of Mark's comrades are ever in danger which makes fights that were once cool and interesting a boring pattern of "this time he used his bone arms" and "this time he used his void blades". Mark's list of powers is so long at this point there are even times when Seth seems to remember Mark hasn't used anything but bone blades and void blades for quite awhile and slips in an "oh yeah then he used the power he learned from his master's friend a book or two ago."
When there's a problem Mark just "goes through a million iterations with his 10,000 minds" then figures it out. Or uses his aura to intimidate people into going along with his plan. It all quickly becomes very boring.
The Millennial Marvel dialogue is one of the most grating parts of this book. Everyone is constantly rolling their eyes and delivering one liners, to the point that every character begins to sound exactly the same. Mark, Noah, Sky, Phoenix all speak exactly the same, even Mime the demon Exlian cat and Maestro the 500 iq evil genius all find time to make ironic jokes like I'm reading a novelization of an Avengers movie.
The result of complete invulnerability for every main character combined with eye rolling and quips makes it feel like book 6 is a parody of the series I enjoyed when I started reading it.
For example in one scene Sky is hit by a blast that makes her armor melt to her skin and a few sentences later when Noah tries to heal her she says "I don't need the potion, idiot. You do!"
Far and away the most egregious example of this is this interaction between Maestro and Mark:
After I read that scene I put the book down for awhile because I felt like such a fool for reading it. If the characters are invulnerable and aren't taking the story seriously why should I?
My final notable gripe with this book is something that is difficult for me to articulate. Several times an action is described then the next sentence retroactively modifies the sentence before it. By not giving crucial information in the first sentence you are forced to rewind your mental picture of what just happened and revise the mental picture you just formed.
For example "Mark... plummeted out of the air, landing with a loud crash in the middle of the street. His fall crushed a large mutant." First you imagine him doing a superhero crash into the street surrounded by mutants. Then you have to go back and revise the image to him doing a superhero crash onto a mutant.
a second example: "At the last moment, it abruptly twisted its sinuous body and attempted to scrape Mark off against the wall. The impact knocked Mark silly... the stone they slammed into was completely crushed. The only saving grace was that Mark had tucked himself right up against one of the matron's legs, and it bore some of the brunt." The second sentence there delivers crucial information for the reader's mental picture of the scene and it's delivered after the action takes place.
To be honest the first 3 books were a ton of fun. The writing was never elevated but I didn't care about that I was having a good time reading about a character leveling up, beating up monsters and navigating superhero political intrigue. It started to fall off on book 4 and now by book 6 neither the plot nor the writing felt worthwhile. If I wasn't a completionist I would have set this book down and never looked back.

Light’s Ascension, the sixth and final book in Seth Ring’s Exlian Syndrome series, gave me something I always want from a finale but rarely get: a genuinely satisfying ending that still leaves the world feeling alive. It closes Mark’s journey in a meaningful way while leaving just enough possibility for Seth Ring to return to this universe someday—whether through another series, another phase of the world, or a story set years later.
Storytelling & Pacing
Unlike Shattered Glory, I didn’t feel that Light’s Ascension was fundamentally rushed. The story moves quickly because it has a tremendous amount to resolve, but most of the progression feels natural considering everything Mark has already experienced.
That said, I honestly wouldn’t have complained if the book had been another 50–70 pages longer. A few confrontations and important developments could have been allowed to breathe. Certain fights, especially given their significance within the larger story, seemed to conclude faster than I expected. A little more space could also have clarified some of the larger implications of what happens near the end.
But none of this damaged the finale for me.
Progression & World-Building
Mark’s progression has always been at the heart of this series, and here we finally see the culmination of that journey. His evolution into something approaching a truly godlike—or perhaps uniquely Exlian—existence feels almost inevitable by this stage.
What interested me even more, however, was the progression of his friends.
Throughout the series, I kept hoping Mark would not simply become an untouchable hero surrounded by weak followers. I wanted the people beside him to grow too—to become powerful enough to genuinely stand with him. Light’s Ascension finally gives us glimpses of that possibility. They may not completely reach Mark’s level here, but the trajectory is there, and I loved that.
Romance & Character Chemistry
This remains my biggest frustration.
The chemistry between Mark and his girlfriend sometimes felt strangely restrained. I kept wondering why Seth Ring seemed so hesitant to let the romance properly develop emotionally. Considering everything these characters experience together, their relationship occasionally felt more distant than it should have.
I wasn’t asking for the series to suddenly become romance-heavy. I simply wanted their relationship to feel more natural, mature, and emotionally convincing.
The Ending
This is where the book won me over completely.
The ending feels big, appropriately so. Mark’s journey has always been about evolution—physical, magical, psychological, and eventually something far beyond ordinary humanity. The conclusion respects that trajectory.
And yet it does not feel like the universe has exhausted itself.
I finished Light’s Ascension thinking that there are still stories waiting here. Maybe months later, maybe years later, perhaps with Mark or perhaps with entirely different characters.
That sense of possibility is exactly how I wanted this series to leave me.
4.5/5 — an ambitious, powerful and highly satisfying finale. Not flawless, but easily one of my favourite books in the series, and an ending worthy of Mark’s journey.

Mark may be at the top of his game with power to rival most anything human, mutant, or Exlian, but never have the stakes been higher! Good thing he has his friends who are almost as powerful to rely on with strengths that are different. The worst has happened and war must be fought on several fronts if New Emery and its citizens are to survive!
Yeah, so you get nonstop action, lots of fighting, matrons and their creations to stop, Mutants on the rampage with their own goals (Dallas makes a grand return), plus the corrupt rich who have their own plans for survival and are in a race to grab the power in the vacuum that the Maestro left when Mark killed him. Never a dull moment for Mark, and the only way to the end game is for him to evolve into the being he seems destined to become. I did enjoy that path but I also liked how he leaned on his friends (and what awesome friends they are) to use their strengths and how Mark knew his own limitations. One of my favorite parts was when Mark and his friends went to the meeting with the other survivors (the rich scheming ones) and how Noah was deemed the spokesperson instead of Mark because he would most likely end up killing and eating everyone else at the table if he were in charge. :)
This is a fitting last book in the series and while I am sad it is over, I loved the whole adventure with Mark and his evolution. Plus Mime is totally awesome! And all of Mark's friends like Sky, Phoenix and Noah. All vital to the survival and rebuilding of New Emery! I am so glad I got the chance to read this. Many thanks to Blackstone Publishing for introducing me to this great series and awesome author!

✦ Book Review: Light's Ascension: A Fantasy LitRPG Adventure (The Exlian Syndrome) by Seth Ring
✧ ᴛʜᴀɴᴋ ʏᴏᴜ ꜰᴏʀ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰʀᴇᴇ ʙᴏᴏᴋ, @BlackstonePublishing #NetGalley
➤ 𝚂𝚈𝙽𝙾𝙿𝚂𝙸𝚂
The Exlian Syndrome series reaches its conclusion as Mark and his companions face the consequences of everything that has come before. With Mark's abilities continuing to evolve and the stakes reaching their highest point yet, the final confrontation brings together the characters, powers, and conflicts that have shaped his journey from the beginning.
➤ 𝚃𝙷𝙾𝚄𝙶𝙷𝚃𝚂
I've had a lot of fun with The Exlian Syndrome, and Light's Ascension brings the series to a conclusion at probably exactly the right time. Mark's plot armor has been noticeable for a while, but by this point it feels nearly indestructible, and somehow his friends seem to have acquired matching sets. That makes it increasingly difficult to feel much tension when the characters are supposedly facing overwhelming danger. Fortunately, the characters and world remain entertaining, and after following them this far I was invested enough that I genuinely wanted to see how everything ended. Seth Ring created a fun series with an interesting progression system and characters I enjoyed spending time with, even when I stopped worrying very much about their survival. I'm glad I followed Mark's journey to the end, but I'm equally glad this is where the story wraps up. Another installment probably would have struggled to keep my interest. As a whole, though, this was an enjoyable series and one I'm happy I read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25
LitRPG/Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Dystopian
Some Romance; No Spice
Book 6
Tropes:
- Superhero Vibes
- Reluctant Hero
- Found Family
- Mystery
- Alien-Monster-Creatures
- Potions
The city is being attacked and everyone is forced underground. Can Mark and his friends save the city from the outside threat & itself? And can they save everyone without dying themselves?
I enjoyed this book. It was not my favorite of the series (I need to re -read them all and do a full ranking), but ending a series is really hard and this was a pretty good ending. The book took a minute to get going but then had a very intense & fun battle scene towards the end. I also liked the character development with Maestro. And I thought the series ended at a good spot.
Spoilers below:
I really hope that while this is the end of this series that we get more in this world. I would love to see mark & crew (& maybe Maestro & Robots) explore this new city Maestro discovered. I would also love seperate prequels about Maesto, Winter Wolf, & Marks Master - sorry blanking on name (also did we ever find out what happened to him!? I kept expecting him to not be dead and randomly re-appear!) @mrsethring
Also, the audiobook is awesome!

Maybe I got bored or overstimulated by listening to all 6 of these books in a row, but the powercreep became obnoxious to me. It definietely is not half as bad as in the manwha solo-leveling, since here are still enemies who can put up a real fight and there are characters who can potentially outgrow the protogonist and also harm him. Yet when characters get overpowered in very short amount of time and receive power-ups that would have taken a lifetime to achieve during the beginning of the story, it just breaks it for me. The interactions also become superficial and the plot predictable. What was fun about the series was the steady grind the character went through. the first 2 books have been practically only grind and I was surprised how much I enjoed that and the last book just breaks this comepletely. It leaves us with a satisfiying half-open ending. Its clear how it can move forward and there still questions unanswered, but its also a satisfiying ending for the series. To me moving the story forward on this powerscale and growth rate does'nt appear intriguing. But I think I will explore more of the authors stories. Did'nt think I would enjoy the genre in such a pure form.
Review of advance copy
Review: Another follow up story in the city of New Emery. This story line needs a quest in a bad way. His GF continues to be annoying with her pouting and juvenile behavior which tends to ramp up with daddykins around. Mark continues to upgrade into a super-being which is super-boring as no one can challenge him. All of his friends are super-invincible and each carries a load of Dudley Doo Right baggage around. The council members / Military are scheming, under-handed narcissists. Really?
What this story line desperately needs is a Quest. Time to head on out of New Emery to that fabled city 10k miles away. The potential for lost tech, new challenges and hidden bunkers along the way would breath some life into this series. New Emery is topped out in terms of interesting events and life forms.
In the next installment, hopefully dipsh.....er, Phoenix stays in New Emery and implodes during an internalized mana war while Mark goes on a walkabout to do Marky things.
3.2/5

Okay, truth be told, I did not realize this was book 6 of the series when I selected to listen to it. It was not a detriment (though I will be reading books 1-5 soon!). This book picks up with Mark Fields leveling up his abilities to protect New Emery. He has his hands full, however with multiplying robots and a whole level of criminals!
If you are a fan of LitRPGs, you are (or should be) familiar with the writing and tone of Seth Ring as he has several LitRPG series (I first read his Body Refinement in a Beast Tamer's World, Book 1) and they are all very well written.
If you grew up playing RPGs or wanting to play them, these books are a great place to start!
Narration (by Pavi Proczko) was academic and perfect for this novel!
Thank you to Blackstone Publishing and Netgalley for sending me this ALC to enjoy!

It was a fun series overall but this final entry shows how terribly it was paced and planned. It's meant to be a last stand of humanity with the good guys from the first five books having exciting fights, pulling out clever plans and tricks and sacrificing themselves heroically. Unfortunately, none of this lands- there are no regular people present in the narrative at all, the good guys are essentially brand new characters with new powers and different personalities, the plot twists are not based on any actual build up and the romances abruptly skip from first kiss to "you are the love of my life."
In short, I like the concept of the book but it was terribly executed. I barely finished it because the finale was simultaneously dull and predictable.

I'm still surprised how much I enjoyed this series since it's not my typical genre - but it's so fun and imaginative. I flew through these books at a disturbing speed. I love Seth Ring's writing especially with dialogue. He never overdoes it with theatrical speeches or overly clever one-liners. He will sometimes take a scene in a direction I don't expect but it is always in a more interesting and thoughtful way. My highest praise for these books though -thank you for writing an engaging plot with strong, loyal, kind characters that speak with competence and wit. Even in a total fantasy world the whole series felt refreshingly authentic and human. More of these stories pls!!!
Review of advance copy received from NetGalley
It was so perfect! The ending of this series was magnificent; so many twists and turns near the end of the book that I did not see coming. The same great Mark, though leveled up, leads us on an adventure to save the city of New Emery and does not fail to disappoint. I am really sad this series is over; I wanted to see more Mark and Mime activities - perhaps exploring the world outside of his city. Overall, this was a great ending to a wonderful series; I can't wait to read more of Seth Ring's books.
I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

An excellent conclusion to a riveting super powered sci-fi series
This last book in the series (for now) marks the end of the exilian syndrome and is an excellent read. I started it and couldn’t put it down until I finished it. Seth Ring ties up the story nicely and leaves us with a satisfying conclusion to the story. If you’re a fan of progression fantasy- this story scratches that itch and leaves you satisfied.

Revised rating.
I am glad that this author believes in ending a series, this notable since litrpgs are littered with endless series that eventually bore me. What I liked about this final book? It concluded and wrapped up the story. What I didn't like? The non stop action. In the beginning of the series, the characters seemed more real and fwlts like a good story. By the time we get to this book, the plot is more like a comic book cliché. To each their own, but not my thing.

There are parts of this book that I really liked. Unfortunately like most comic books it also runs on the premise that ‘bigger and more’ are always better, whether they make sense or not. The author was so caught up in making the ending a gigantic conflict that it didn’t really pull the whole story together and to be honest the previous five books needn’t have happened.
Having said that I thought this was a better read than the previous book.

One of my new favorites of all time. Mark goes down in history as a God who conquered all. New emery is risen back up purged of most of its former evil with Mark and his friends at the core. Mastro is such an amazingly written character on a side note. Then with phoenix coming back and most of the loose ends tied up (Wth happened to master abrams??? Was he murdered who did it???) it makes this a near perfect series.

[3⭐️] I read this just to finish out the series since the book wasn’t out when I read the rest earlier this year. This series ended up just okay, not great, not bad, just fine. I love how creative he was in how he described powers. However, there were so many things that happened where I said “oh, just like X” and “that happened in Y”. Seth Ring has definitely watched some anime and wasn’t really trying to hide it 😂

This was a great conclusion to this series. There was non stop action, a great story, and characters that kept surprising the reader with how detailed their story’s were woven together. Read this book but read all the others first so that you understand the immense journey Mark and his friends went on to get to this ending.
The narrator was great. He brought this story to life over and over again.

Left me speechless!
Seth Ring has always been an amazing author. Every series, book, and chapter he writes enthralled me. The characters feel like real people, the relationships are deep, and the world is always intricate. In a way I cannot put into words, this series, and especially this book, has surpassed every expectation. I don't want the series to be over, but I am happy to have experienced it.

Many continuity issues
I think I’m done with Seth’s books. The writing has become superficial with lots of hand wavy overcoming of problems of perfect solutions coming out of nowhere. Solutions to problems are suddenly cast aside with no details etc.

No notes. Satisfying conclusion to the series (first ARC?) of the story.
I still think book 3 was the weakest overall, and it was almost something that caused me to stop reading the series, but I'm glad Seth brought things back to where they needed to be for the last books.

Good action in this ending. It didn't have the kind of ending that turned the world on its head and revealed big mysteries (which is my favorite for this kind of series). But it was a fun finish to a fun series.

I'll give Seth points for making such a frenetic episode both understandable and easy to read. At the same time, I don't know why it had to be so rushed. The next step toward efficient authorship would be a novel consisting nothing but bullet-points.

I'd like to ratify this series
An extraordinary author with loads of imagination. I've truly enjoyed everything he has written. If you like like LitRPG. this will ring your bell; not heavy into the stats, but they're there. Read all his series and be happy.

This is a really good job of wrapping up so much of what had been set up. It also was a problem, problem solved. Story that felt like chunks of it could have been cut. But the core conflict and resolution really did work for me.

Mr Seth - what's with the ending? Really going to leave us like that? Give us book 7 and no one will get hurt....
But in all seriousness, great series, kept me guessing, and made me really care about the characters. Awesome job!
