What starts as a marriage of convenience becomes the love she never saw coming … especially when a handsome cowboy and the magic of Christmas get involved.
Olivia Martin discovers her grandfather’s will requires her to be married by Christmas to inherit his ranch in Cady Springs, Colorado, along with a load of cash. She never expects the rugged ranch foreman to volunteer as her groom.
Their on-paper only fake marriage is supposed to be simple … until her family in New York City insists she bring her new husband home for the holidays.
Now, rugged and handsome cowboy, James Callahan, is swapping horses for taxis and rideshares. He shocks Olivia’s uptight relatives with his slow drawl, honest charm, and fierce devotion. The more he protects her from family drama and city chaos, the more Olivia realizes her fake husband feels like the only thing real in her life.
As the holiday winds down, she’ll have to decide where home truly is … beneath the city lights or wrapped in the arms of the cowboy she never meant to love.

Part of a multi-author collaboration - A Cowboy For Christmas. Each book may be read as a stand-alone.
Opal’s steamy stories frequently feature independent, strong-willed females who find themselves surprisingly swept away by alpha males who pursue them with vigor and passion. Ultimately, they can’t resist the sweet satisfaction and protection these men offer. Who could?
On Writing Opal doesn’t like being restricted to what form her stories take. She breaks rules and bends things a bit to keep the tale the way the characters want it told.
In her writing, Opal Nicks explores many different facets of relationships. She hopes to captivate you with the nuances of love. Whether through a budding early relationship or a tension-filled reunion, she gracefully conveys the power and complexity of love-speak.
Her characters often possess an unbridled energy that gives them strength to take risks and traverse peril—all for love.
Fake vows. Real feelings. A cowboy she can't walk away from.
When Olivia returns to her grandfather’s ranch in Cady Springs, she isn’t ready for the clause in his will: get married by Christmas or lose everything. Fresh off a Manhattan deadline and drowning in family pressure, she’s out of time and out of options. Then James, the ranch’s quiet, loyal foreman, makes an offer she never expected.
Their marriage is supposed to be temporary. No feelings. Just signatures and survival. But when Olivia’s family insists on meeting her new husband, she brings James to the city she left behind. He navigates it all with calm strength, grounding her through every awkward moment and showing her what it feels like to be chosen without conditions.
What starts as practical begins to feel personal. Rings that fit a little too well. Glances that linger. The more time they spend together, the harder it gets to tell what’s real and what’s pretend. Until suddenly, it’s all real.
Wrapped in holiday lights and unspoken truths, Olivia has to choose the life she thought she wanted or the one that’s quietly unfolding in the arms of a man who never asked her to be anything but herself.

Falling for the Cowboy She Was Never Supposed to Love
Opal Nicks’ Bringing Home a Cowboy: A Cowboy For Christmas is a warm, charming, and festive holiday read.
Olivia inherits her grandfather’s ranch, but the will includes a shocking clause: she must be married before Christmas or she will lose everything. James, the loyal foreman who has been running the ranch since her grandfather passed, steps in with a solution. They marry to save the ranch, planning to keep it strictly for show.
Now Olivia must bring her new fake husband home to New York City for Christmas. For a cowboy who has never belonged in a city, James has never felt more at home than beside her. Soon, pretending no longer feels like pretending, and real feelings begin to surface.
This cozy holiday romance features some of my favorite tropes, including a fake marriage turned real, a protective cowboy hero, opposites attract, and a city girl–meets–cowboy clash.

What happens when a Manhattan woman inherits a Colorado ranch, a Christmas deadline, and one inconveniently handsome cowboy?
I wrote this story in a blur of deadlines, cocoa, and late-night laughter. It quickly became one of my favorites. Olivia’s crazy inheritance clause meets James’s quiet charm. You’ll experience the juxtaposition of small mountain town ranch life versus big apple city lights. Throw in a fake marriage and the fun begins.
Bringing Home a Cowboy is a little wild, a little sweet, and full of that Christmas magic that sneaks up on you when you need it most.
This was a wonderful romance that brings together a Manhattan gal and a ranch foreman. Olivia inherits her grandfather's ranch but finds there's a wee hitch attached - she must be married by Christmas to keep it. That's only a couple of weeks away. Yikes! Thankfully, foreman James hears the deets and offers her an easy solution: marry him... What follows is a heartwarming and steamy fake-to-real romance as feelings indeed bloom strong and fast between this cute couple. I really enjoyed the heart and heat in this holiday romance. Good fun!
A Cowboy for Christmas is a collaborative series with hot, steamy, spicy, quick Christmas reads. Each one is just as good as the last, and it doesn't matter the reading order. Excellent way to find new authors or read from your favorites. This story doesn't disappoint.
