The Killigrew Street Case Files #3

Glitched Fates & Stolen Mates

Rate this book
How to accidentally on purpose stalk and traumatise your soulmate:

1. Hide behind wheelie bins like all proper predators do.
2. Stare through his window until he spots you.
3. Volunteer to teach him self-defence to protect him from his "stalker" (i.e., you).
4. Try not to spontaneously combust when you touch him during training.

Felix

Someone's been watching me for months.

As Killigrew Street's tech expert, I’ve hacked into enough systems to know we've made serious enemies—particularly since discovering Greywatch, a military unit exploiting supernatural soldiers. When I finally spot my stalker outside my flat, Kit—my brooding, cardigan-wearing older colleague—swoops in to investigate.

There's always been weird tension between us: strange looks, wordless tea deliveries. But when he offers self-defence lessons, I'm not complaining. Even if his proximity makes my hands shake for entirely different reasons.

My stalker better watch out, because Kit's teaching me exactly how to handle creeps like them.

Kit

I am the worst person alive.

Two years I've been pining for Felix—my brilliant, beautiful mate who doesn't even know what he is to me. Two years of watching him from afar, following him home, lurking outside his flat like some kind of sick freak.

Now he's noticed. He thinks some faceless enemy is hunting him. He's petrified.

And it's all my fault.

The mature thing would be to confess everything and quit Killigrew Street. Instead, I've convinced myself that teaching him self-defence will help. Because, apparently, my capacity for self-sabotage knows no bounds.

I should tell him the truth. I should walk away. I should definitely stop stealing his hoodies.

But with enemies from my shady military past circling, and Felix in real danger, walking away isn't an option. Even if staying means risking my heart.

Glitched Fates is the third in the Killigrew Street Case Files series, a collection of humorous MM PNRs centered around a found family of supernatural detectives. Each one is a standalone adventure following a different couple, but prior reading of Moonlit Nights (book two) is recommended for maximum enjoyment.

HANDS DOWN MY FAV OF THE SERIES!!
Aaah I’ve been waiting for Felix and Kit’s story and it was so worth it!

Immensely shy, socially anxious, ‘don’t-talk-to-me-or-look-at-me’ Felix was everything. I adored him immediately and can totally relate to Kit’s protective (or… ehm… slightly stalker-ish) impulses.

Felix starts out still feeling out of place in himself, his work, and this lovely little family of misfits. But over the course of the book, he slowly finds his place in all those areas and grows into his confidence - and I LOVED watching that journey 🥹

Kit’s pining over a one-sided mate bond - something I’ve never read before but goddamn, give me more!! - almost felt like a third main character. It was absolutely heartbreaking.. and also kind of hilarious, because watching that big, strong wolf turn into a shaking, tongue-tied, awkward mess whenever Felix was around was the cutest thing ever. Kit just needed to be close to his mate but was petrified of spooking him, and the resulting fumbling was such a delight to read!

Because they were both the most awkward, shy, anxious idiots in love (and Felix demisexual), we had to wait a bit for them to get together - but when they did, it was just so beautiful 🥹
Kit was full of reverence, treating Felix like the most precious thing in the world, and the way he talked to him, touched him - with such care, adoration, and gentleness - was everything 🥹🫠
Talk about a service top and a pillow princess 😮‍💨

Also: I cannot get enough of how Rose writes these characters in wolf form. Even big, burly military Kit turned into an adorable puppy and I wanted to EAT HIM UP.

Their story is told across two timelines, past and present, roughly three months apart. While that can be hit or miss for me, it worked so well here because I was completely invested in figuring out how we got to those quite dramatic present-day chapters.

And can I just say how much I loved the rescue mission? And who rescued who? Just brilliant! And Kit alpha-ing?! Oooh boy 🫠

As with the rest of the series, this has a high page count. But while I definitely noticed the length in previous instalments, I didn’t feel it here at all. The overall pacing was so much stronger, and when I finished and realised this was 500 pages, I genuinely couldn’t believe it - they flew by!

So yeah, I had the best time with this one and THAT ENDING???? Holy shit, I need book 4 NOW!

Also: shoutout to the lovely Patrícia and our impromptu BR for the last 30% - that was so much fun! 🧡🧡

PS: Looove the cover, both guys look absolutely perfect! 😍

Safety info, content warnings and tropes down below.

This is easily my favorite book in the series so far. The external plot was better in this one, and really getting somewhere now – it kept me engaged and interested the whole way through. It has felt pretty stagnant and slow until this book, so it was nice to get some more action. Felix and Kit is also my favorite couple of the bunch. Their start was certainly unconventional but they are an adorable couple. They fit together so well, and their dynamic was great. Especially in the bedroom. All Kit wanted was for Felix to be a cute pillow princess he could take care of and treat like royalty.

I wasn’t expecting the dual timelines but I think that was a good choice for the story, and I figured it out pretty quickly. I think the tension and action in the current timeline mixed with the pining and cuteness of seeing the relationship development in the past helped the pacing a lot. The book is nearly 500 pages but it didn't feel slow.

Both Kit and Felix are adorable characters. I love that Kit is a big, strong alpha wolf – bearded and muscled – yet he loves cozy cardigans and plants, and has a gentle soul. He really was the perfect partner for anxious, genius Felix.

I probably wouldn't recommend reading this book out of order as the external plot runs throughout all the books, but it’s not impossible if you’re like me and often can’t make yourself commit to a whole series, lol. Either way, I recommend reading this book.

Edit: I do think it's strange and uncomfortable the way the characters talk about and treat Rory. Their teasing doesn't feel loving or lighthearted, and it's almost always based on Rory's ADHD -- something he can't help. I mentioned it in my review of book 2 as well, and based on the writing and a social media post the author did where they called the other characters 10s and Rory a 6.5, I get the impression they don't like the character. Even if the post was done in jest, the underlying tone doesn't feel innocent or kind.

Thank you to the author for the ARC!

Then, to my complete surprise, he dropped into what was possibly a play bow. Front legs stretched out in front of him, backside high in the air, tail wagging enthusiastically. I stared at him. “Oh, you’re just an overgrown puppy, aren’t you?” Kit’s tail wagged harder, and before I could process what was happening, he launched himself at me in what might generously be called a tackle. Except it was the gentlest tackle in the history of tackles—more like being nudged by a very large, very fluffy battering ram. We tumbled to the forest floor together, Kit managing to control his descent so that his full weight didn’t crush me. I found myself on my back with an enormous wolf hovering over me, panting happily.

His enormous tongue darted out and swiped across my cheek before I could dodge. “Ugh, Kit!” I squealed, trying to turn my face away, but I was laughing too hard to put up any real resistance. “That’s disgusting!” He took this as encouragement, apparently, because the next lick caught me square across the mouth. I spluttered and pushed at his snout, but Kit’s tail was going like a metronome and he looked insufferably pleased with himself.

“Very smooth operation. I was helpless against such sophisticated seduction techniques.” Kit’s laugh was louder this time, drawing curious looks from a couple walking their dog. “Sophisticated? Is that what we’re calling my complete inability to form coherent sentences around you?” “I prefer to think of it as strong, silent NPC energy,” I said. “Or strategic intimidation. Very attractive to us nerdy types who’ve never seen actual confidence.”

“Seb wants me at the hotel. Right now.” A funny noise escaped my throat—something between a whine and a grunt of protest that I definitely hadn’t meant to make out loud. Kit’s mouth twitched, fighting back a smile. “Are you seriously… pouting right now?” “I most definitely am not!” I pulled my face into its best scowl. Kit’s grin broke free, broad and delighted. “You absolutely were. That’s the most dramatic bottom lip I’ve ever seen.” “I’m not— It’s just— We’re sort of in the middle of something!”

“This won’t come as a surprise to you,” I murmured into his hair. “But I’m a cuddler. You won’t be able to escape it.”

this was so cute! Definitely not my favorite in the series but plot wise, it had me on the edge of my seat!! Very exciting and fast paced!

I really like Kit and Felix as a couple😭 I’m glad the author didn’t make light of the whole stalking situation and properly addressed it and I don’t know, everything was just well thought out and wrapped up neatly imo👏✨💗 they were so sweet and understanding during when they finally admitted their feelings and Felix was soo mature about the whole situation. He’s written as a soft character with a strong personality and it works so well in the relationship and especially when kit was in danger! Adorable and sexy 🧎🏼‍♀️

The ending however. Jaw. Dropped. No words. I was SHOOK. What am i even supposed to do with that now? 😭😭😭🤐

I’m actually obsessed with this series. Like… LOVE love LOVE it 😭❤️
No joke, I cannot pick a favorite out of the three books — they all hit perfectly in their own way.

One thing I’ll never shut up about is how much focus goes into the story and emotional depth. It’s not just spice and vibes — it’s soft, tender, sometimes painful in that hurt-so-good way 🥹

And the relationships??
Grown men. Who. Actually. Communicate.
No pointless drama, no running away — just honesty, effort, and care. Their found family? Yeah… I’m emotionally attached now 😭❤️

Felix though…
Immensely shy, socially anxious, “don’t talk to me, don’t look at me” Felix was EVERYTHING. I adored him instantly. Like, I am Felix 😭
And honestly? I fully get Kit’s protective (okay… slightly stalker-ish 👀) energy.

At the beginning, Felix feels out of place everywhere — in himself, in his work, even in this chaotic little found family. But slowly… so slowly… he finds his place, grows into himself, into confidence, into belonging — and watching that journey? Absolutely beautiful 🤌

And Kit???
His whole pining over a one-sided mate bond — I’ve never seen that before but OMG give me MORE.
It was heartbreaking… but also lowkey hilarious 😭 because this big, strong wolf turns into a nervous, tongue-tied disaster around Felix. He just wants to be close but is terrified of scaring him off, and the awkwardness?? Adorable.

They’re both just awkward, anxious idiots in love, and with Felix being demisexual, the slow burn is SLOW slow…
But when it finally happens?
Yeah. Worth. Every. Second. ❤️‍🔥

Kit treats Felix like he’s the most precious thing in the world — the way he talks to him, touches him, handles him with care… it’s all so soft, respectful, and full of quiet devotion. I ate that up.

The dual timeline (past + present) actually worked so well here. Usually I’m meh about that, but I was INVESTED. I needed to know how we got to that dramatic present.

Also — humor? On point.
Characters? Amazing.
Dynamics? Chef’s kiss.
Everything? YES.

⭐️ 5/5
🌶️ 4/5

SPOILER!!!
Freddy… FOR FUCK’S SAKE?!?!!
I was NOT ready for that. Now I’m sitting here like — okay cool, I need the next book yesterday 🤡🔥

This book was everything I was expecting and more!!! I knew from the get go that Kit and Felix’s story was gonna be beautiful, and it blew all my expectations out of the wild. Felix’s character growth throughout this book was done so well and was one of my favorite things about him. And the way that Kit loves him so much and would do anything for him, ugh my heart.

Overall this book was such an amazing addition to this series and I absolutely cannot WAIT for book 4! (can we talk abt that ending reveal HELLO???)

thank you to the author for providing this arc!

It came as no surprise to me at all that I loved this book. I have been the biggest fan of this series since book 1 and have loved every couple event so far. As expected, Kit and Felix are the best! The pining in this book was so strong and I’m here for it! Everyone needs a man like Kit! This book did not disappoint and I can’t wait for book 4 now!!!

Thank you Gay Romance Reviews for the ARC!! I ADORE KIT AND FELIX. Oh my goddddddd they are so stinking cute.

Kit Thorne is a 30 year old Scottish wolf shifter. He is a chronic over thinker & mild stalker. And Felix Chung is a human 21 year old Korean hacker/computer-tech specialist who just so happens to *unknowingly* be mated to Kit. Both of whom are detectives working in London for an underground paranormal organization operating out of an abandoned hotel.

Every single thing about them was fucking adorable. I mean, the Lady and the Tramp quiche lunch *cute as shit*. The first lick/kiss “we don’t talk about fight club” training session out in the woods *sexy af*. The sweet little Kit ‘Swimfan’ stalking of Felix *ugh. Stalk me harder, daddy!*. I just LOVE THEM. The awkwardness, the intense awkward weirdness, the awkward SEXXXXYYYYYY-ness…. They were perfect. Did I mention how awkward they were? Definitely takes the top spot for most awkward start to a relationship of all time. (I’ve typed ‘awkward’ so many times that it’s starting to look weird 👀)

Not gonna lie, I was SCREAMING at my kindle for the first 225ish pages - JUST TELL HIM YOU’RE MATES AND KISS HIM AND FUCK HIM AND LOVE EACH OTHER FOREVER AND EVER. Amen. The wait was worth it though.

I have not read the previous books in this series yet, but I loved Rory and Theo and the rest of the gang, so I’m definitely looking forward to doing a bit of backtracking with this series!!

Past & Present Dual POV timelines were perfect! Super easy to follow. Each character had their own unique voices and personalities that made it so easy to distinguish whose POV you were reading. Love the authors writing style! The humor was fire! The action was top notch! The romance was ON FUCKING POINT! The slow burn was slowwww burningggg. The one-sided mate bond, the yearning, the wholesomeness…. It was all so freaking good. I want more!

Damn, I just can’t get over how much I loved that sexy BEAST and his nerdy lil mate.

That ending!!!! WHATTTTTT????
What is this Peter Pettigrew ferret situation we have brewing? I’m intrigued.

Wow TJ Rose knocked this one out of the park! I kinda had a feeling Felix and Kit were gonna take the cake as my favorite couple in the series and I was 100% correct. These two were utterly swoon worthy 😆

Kit was such a gentle giant for his mate. Don’t get me wrong, he could be deadly when he wanted to be, but it was all softness and heart eyes for his Felix 😍. But I mean, how could Kit not swoon over Felix when he was so stinkin adorable? I love nerdy MMCs and he was the definition of one: quiet and smart with undeniable social anxiety. I found it ironic that the one character with such horrible social anxiety was the one that went on the highest-angst adventure. Seriously, I felt like I had butterflies in my stomach when everything hit the fan.

I kinda wish the stalking aspect was more prolonged. I felt like we only got a glimpse of it before it immediately ended, but I get it since Felix was a nervous wreck over it and Kit hated being the one who was scaring his mate.

I also lived for the Rory and Felix bonding moments! These two are such an iconic duo 🫶🏼 In all honesty, I loved their interactions even more because Rory is my favorite chaos demon and always scheming 😏

TJ always leaves us with a cliffhanger and the cliffhanger for Reckless Schemes & Haunted Dreams did not disappoint. I got the chills reading the last line of the book. I don’t know how I’m going to wait a whole year!! I swear TJ is going to slowly kill me with teasers for Book 4.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75/5

Thank you so much TJ for the ARC 💖 I always have a blast reading all the adventures you write!

I was SO excited to arc read this story that I have to admit I kinda rushed through books one and two. I FINALLY wanted to see Kit and Felix fall in love. And boy, did I.

Watching their awkward interactions and their internal dreading slowly turn into a gentle but powerful bond was pure magic. Witnessing Felix find his confidence while Kit found his peace healed something in me. Even makes me cry while writing this.

I have cried a total of three times (including this tear streaker review writing) and I couldn't be happier about it.

Since I have read all three books in very close proximity time wise, I can absolutely see the growth in TJs writing as well. The other two books were good, but to me, book three was amazing!

Maybe it also hit this hard because we had mind control aspects that reminded me of Neurovance (still not over that book).

Anyhow... Happy release!

I LOVED THIS!! 5 undead ferret biscuits ⭐
Definitely my favourite in the series so far, Felix and Kit are everything.
The dual timeline was an unexpected treat and was done so well— it had me swooning, hanging in anticipation and made the overall plot even more intriguing.

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review.

Kit and Felix’s story is the third one in the Killigrew Street Case Files by TJ Rose. I absolutely loved this installment in the series! Each book is beyond stellar and this one is no exception. Kit is absolutely divine with how protective he is of Felix. There is something we learn right away that absolutely floored me and I’m in awe of Rose’s writing and how she weaves all of the components together. I love the dual timelines in this story as well.

The pining in this novel is top tier! I have no words. It really pulls you in. Kit and Felix’s awkward and nervous interactions are really sweet. Once they admit how they feel towards one another, things take a turn and both their connection and chemistry are amazing. I love how patient Kit is. I love the care him and Felix have for one another. Rose handles each MC’s anxiety with care. I also appreciate the demisexual rep in this story.

Both MCs have internal and external conflicts that they are contending with, whether it be Kit’s past or Felix’s feelings about his respective parents. (Obviously, there’s the bad guys with Greywatch). That said, one of the beautiful things about this book is watching Felix come into himself and grow more confident. He absolutely stands up for his man and it is everything!

It’s always a pleasure seeing the rest of the Killigrew Street team. All of the characters are delightful and I love the found family vibes in this series. This story will hook you until the very end. Kit and Felix’s HEA is well deserved. On top of that, something absolutely magnificent and unexpected happens at the end and I cannot wait to see where this series takes us!

Dude I love these books. perfect for curing a reading slump :) I liked this one—I love the wolf boys and Kit is such a sweet, well intentioned mess. I also liked learning more about felix and his dynamics with everyone!

I was super into the espionage of it all. I liked how useful felix was despite not being a combat guy—people of all skill sets can be useful and i’m happy we explored that!!

As per usual though, my same personal note remains: Needed to be edited more thoroughly! Though at least I found in this one the final conflict wasn’t as rushed as the other two!

I’m not usually a fan of time skips, and admittedly there were times while reading this that I got frustrated and a tad confused, but ultimately it wasn’t a dealbreaker for me!

I love these gay nerds! I can’t wait for book 4 :)

This was a lot less fun than the first two, partially because of the characters and partially because it leaned much more heavily into action/suspense. I liked both Kit and Felix individually but their relationship didn't feel as well developed, probably because of the whole fated mates thing. Can't wait for book 4 though!

I loved every single book of this series, but this one I think is my absolute favourite ❤️ Loved Kit and Felix, the pining oh my god! Deliciously build! It’s slow burn done to perfection. This book is plot driven and character driven/development. At the 70-80% mark we have so much action going on, I flipped the pages like crazy. Stunning, stunning book 🌸

One of the things I love most about this series is the different dynamics between the couples. Each pair brings new challenges, and time and again the author manages to convey the chemistry really well. I always found Felix intriguing, but I didn’t immediately have a soft spot for him (like I did for Rory), so I wasn’t quite sure what this book would bring—especially since I didn’t really know what to think of Kit.

Anyway, this book was amazing once again. There were so many clumsy moments that made me chuckle regularly. Kit’s aloofness completely melted away, and I found it really endearing to read about him. Once again, the characters grow closer to each other in a beautiful way. The book is also exciting, with a rescue mission I won’t forget—I thought it was such a fun team-up.

And that ending… I have a suspicion about who the next book will be about, and I’m really looking forward to it! I was lucky enough to read the first three installments back to back, but now I really have to let the characters go until next year. ):

In any case, I’ve become a huge fan of T.J. Rose’s work—I’ll definitely be reading her other books as well!

As someone who is also *beyond awkward* and *shy* the secondhand embarrassment, awkwardness, and shyness between Kit and Felix is actually hilarious (and wholesome). These poor guys, someone get them some help! enjoyed their story so much. The Crew is back in this one, but the main focus is Felix and Kit, and the slow burn, burns, stalks, and hides in a lair! Make sure you just don't let Kits big tough guy act fool you, he will hunt you down and attack you with his precious babies (his 92,483 houseplants, and he knows their *full government names too*) none will ever *Top* Princess. Who quite literally becomes a main character Imao. Also Freddy is still here. 10/10. Kit and Felix's relationship is so soft and Kit takes so much extra care with Felix to make sure he's getting what he wants, when he wants, how he wants. Once Felix is over the shyness (and I'm not kidding he is so shy and will run away from human interaction, and humans in general the second he thinks it's coming his way, he also couldn't wait to get Kit into bed even Kit wanted to *wait* but Felix? No no.) Felix was *blown* by Kit- I, *ahem* | mean blown away by Kits *massive* di-splay of Wolf Size! He'd forgotten Kit was a brute of a wolf! Felix & Rory also form a much closer relationship in Glitched Fates and honestly I'm here for it, cause while Rory is my favorite (and most relatable) Felix is tied, as I'm literally both of them combined! The epilogue though? Hello? Excuse me? Just ending like that? If you want:
• Stalking•
•Stalking•
•Stalking•
•Plants•
•Shy Men•
•Pillow Princess. • && Not the Plant •
•Touch, Look, Think, Speak of and to him and die•
•Wheelie Bins•
•A stolen hoodie being slept with, possibly other things, the world may Then this is for you!
I cannot wait for book 4 and for the story we get for the *next two*, as per usual am super grateful that l've been around for forever now to Beta Read for TJ, and I cannot wait for all the new projects and help with them!

The time jumps in each chapter were very confusing and made the actions make less sense. The plot was not very good at keeping my attention on the book. It felt kind of dragged on at points in the book.

Fated mates, 2 years of pining, and a rogue evil organization…. This had the bones of a great story but, at 500+ pages, was easily 100 pages too long.

I loved Felix, Kit and their love story. The adventure was overly elaborate, but fine. However, there were pages of unnecessary detail and repeated inner monologues. I found myself skimming… a lot. 😞

Felix 🐺 Kit

The majority of the story is told going back and forth between the present day - when Kit is in danger - and in flashbacks showing the slow building of their relationship. Honestly, I found this very confusing at first. I can’t keep track of what day it is in my current life, please don’t expect me to keep track of each time leap and how far we’re leaping… my fatigued brain cannot do that mental math.

Anyway, we see their relationship build as we sense and see Kits current day real danger as he’s been captured by the evil Greystone (?) folks for all kinds of terrible reasons.

❤️ No third act breakup
🐺👨🏻‍💻Strong shape shifter alpha wolf and brilliant, painfully shy, nerdy tech human
🐺Protective obsessed MMC
♾️Fated mates: Kit knew Felix was his fated mate from the first time he saw him two years ago. He can’t talk around him, gets overwhelmed and generally avoids him. Except for when he’s paranoid about his safety and stalks him. Felix, meanwhile, avoids Kit because he thinks Kit doesn’t like him and just feels weird and uncomfortable around him
🗣️Miscommunication - the whole first part of the book is that Felix has no idea that Kit is his fated mate and actually thinks that he has a stalker. When he finds out the stalker is Kit, he is understandably upset and confused. Felix takes a minute. Eventually, they meet and talk it over and after that big shift, they are very real and upfront w each other. Kit also mistakenly thinks that Felix is dating Wren, the guy from the coffee shop.
🫣No OM - Both have had experience w women; Kit was in love with a woman when he was in the “military” w Greystone but she died. He hasn’t been w anyone in 2 years since he first saw Kit. Felix has had a couple of unsatisfying experiences w women, and seems to be demisexual. He kissed Wren once, but they never dated and it never went anywhere but friendship.
😊Nicknames - Sweetheart
🌶️Spice - Starts around 40%. Open door.
🇨🇭Side plot. - there’s a whole rogue organization that Kit was previously involved in and they come back and kidnap him off the street. He is being detained somewhere in Switzerland.
🏠Found family - the whole gang at Killigrew Street. We also see Felix’s actual Korean family - his powerful mom, little sister, and dad, who has Huntingtons Disease
👥Dual POV; HEA. Completed the mating bond and living together

I wanted this to be a 5 star read. The relationship building was so cute! It just got bogged down in too many details and the time jumping did something weird to the pacing. It felt like forever for them to figure out a plan to find Kit.🤷🏻‍♀️ With a little editing, this could have been amazing.

Best bits: Spoilers ‼️
- The “Mission” analysis notes from Kit over his every interaction w Felix were hilarious. For ex, How he would practice what he was going to stay in front of the mirror 20 times and then just drop the tea and run 😂
- When Kit showed up at the KPop concert without being invited bc he couldn’t stay away from Felix and was worried he’d have a panic attack
- How tongue tied Kit got everytime he was around Felix
- How Felix was completely and utterly clueless

I’ve been excited for Kit’s story since the first book (I have a type, okay lmao), so needless to say I’ve been chomping at the bit to read this book despite the stack of other ARCs I had to get through before I could read this one. It was a struggle, genuinely lol. And then I inhaled it because it was near impossible to put down and now I’m bereft that I need to wait for book four because, without spoilers: I KNEW IT. I FREAKIN KNEW IT. *excited flailing*

ahem, anyway. Glitched Fates & Stolen Mates was fantastic, I think that this one was a lot more plot heavy but it really needed to be. There were so many underlying threads from the first two books that needed to come together to make sense — both for Felix and Kit’s relationship, and for the overarching plot with Greywatch and the Killigrew Street team. I have to say that there were a few curveballs that I wasn’t expecting, and some (looking back, obvious) red herrings that were fun to follow; I think that the way TJ Rose writes is brilliant. At first I wasn’t a huge fan of the jumping around in time because I always have a hard time following that with brain fog, but eventually it became very apparent it was super important to write it that way and I did adjust and was able to follow fairly well without having to flip between chapters to see where I was lol.

I really enjoyed the time we got with the supporting characters, I think that something TJ Rose does really well that other authors sometimes struggle with is writing the characters slightly differently from the current couple’s POV. Sometimes when writing, you get an almost flat, rigid sense of a character and it’s hard to describe them or their actions from someone else’s POV, but Rose doesn’t seem to struggle with that at all. I particularly liked the differences between Kit and Felix’s perspectives on Rory and Theo, vs Rory and Theo’s perspectives on each other. It highlights the intimacy and familiarity between the characters in an interesting and fun way. (I also really loved the way they all looked from Felix’s eyes, since he’s arguably the most “normal” other than Flynn. But Flynn’s total acceptance and chill personality meant he accepted everyone and their quirks really quickly, whereas Felix is *still* nervous and feeling outcasted years later.)

Even though the story was plot heavy, the steamy scenes that we did get were fantastic. I felt like they fit the characters really well and I LOVED the way that Rose wrote about the sweet, blushing, pillow princess. I hate to always be comparing but again this is something that I have found other authors that I’ve read aren’t super great at writing about — it always feels judgy or like it’s somehow unfair/uneven between partners when one is a pillow princess, and Rose didn’t do that at all. The way that Kit worships him was absolute perfection and I’d love to see more of it in a bonus short some time! Maybe in the far future when Felix is a little more secure in himself and can ask for what he wants in a way that would drive Kit even more feral than usual 😈

Overall, fantastic read. I highly recommend this series!
Thank you to the author for the advanced reading copy — it was a pleasure!

"Felix first. Always Felix first."

Kit a wolf shifter, knew right away that Felix is his mate. For two years, Kit's been pining and watching aka stalking Felix from the sidelines. When Felix found out he got a stalker, Kit offered to teach him self-defense.

Ngl, I love the cover sm. The cover made me want to read this book so it became one of my highly anticipated read. The summary sealed the deal that I read the first two books in the series so I can read this one. No regrets because I love these characters.

We saw glimpses of Kit and Felix from the moment we met them so the build-up to their story is much higher in the grand scheme of things especially with what happened in book 2.

I love both characters, especially Felix. He's so adorable, so endearing and very nerdy in an introvert type of way, plus he's a hacker! Kit's the usual grump but grew on me especially with how protective he was with the team, his brother and to Felix. He had a lot of traumas and complex history but a good person underneath.

Together on paper, they don't make any sense but they complement each other really well. Kit's patient and gentle with Felix and I love to read how Felix grew confident and comfortable in his own skin.

Like I said from the previous books, the found family was really great to read. One of my favorite in this.

The plot picked up right after book 2 so that I can say is much connected to this one IYKYK. I love it, the whole suspense kept me at the edge of my feet. I was gasping out loud in some of the scenes and was giggly in some of Felix and Kit's scenes. Hands down, they are my favorite couple in the series.

I had some theories from the first book and I am so glad I was right and then the whole series became much more MORE interesting now. I cannot wait for the next one!

~* ARC Review*~

--Maybe some mate stalking-- Both men are Awk-ward with a Capital A-- Close proximity-- Kit... baby you are a bit scary-- energy drink core... here for it-- Plant daddy-- cute little dates and meet ups-- protective wolf mate-- Felix is coming out of his skin!--

This whole entire series so far has my absolute heart. I loved Seb & Flynn's story ( cause Vamp... duh). I loved how Teddy & Rory function together as a unit together. And I was Frothing at the mouth to see how Kit finally gets his mate in Felix.

The stalking was kind of a surprise but also.... not really. As you read through their story you realize how absolutely awkward these two dorks are. Which makes them a perfect fit.

Kit is so patience and steadfast in nature. While Felix is quiet and very flighty. These two men are perfect together. They are both shy in nature, but when they finally come together.... they burn bright! I'm talking some spice. Some first times.

Now, this book does flash back and forth between past and present. If that bothers you.... try to stick with it.
I love how militarized Kit's brain in during the flashbacks in the chapter beginnings. Absolutely died laughing when he had to abort mission. You have to check it out to see what I mean.

Felix is just totally sweetly oblivious about Kit's feelings for him, although he knows he is being followed.

That isn't their only problem though. Right when they start to officially court, Kit goes missing.
which means, Felix is on the hunt.

We get to see a bit more of Greywatch throughout this book and see the plans they have. Everything is finally coming to an end on one side of the problem list. So we have only one more big issue to deal with right?

But. BUT. You wanna know what really got me??? The last sentence of the book!!!!

I really love the premise for this book - a shifter story, a fated mates gone wrong vibe with stalking your mate! And it does not disappoint, the story is a slow burn with some miscommunication, but it really fits with the story and the struggle both these characters had. I loved the actions elements and the continuation of the original story line from the previous book. Kit and Felix are really cute together, it takes them a while to find their footing together but i really enjoyed watching Felix feel more comfortable and confident with Kit. Poor Kit really overthinks every single interaction I loved the mission report updates and outcomes at the start of chapters, alluding to Kits attempts to interact with Felix and failing miserably. I really loved seeing Felix's home life and family and the pressures he feels from them, but also the love and connection he has with them. There is a confusing timeline as the story jumps back a forth between modern day and their developing relationship and romance and while its really well written, i don't personally love the alternating timeline development. I really loved Felix and Rory's relationship growth that comes through at the end of the book. I still feel like Rory can be judged harshly by others in the book, including his brother and Felix, for being too much, it would have been nice to see more trust development for Rory with the others, but I loved how Felix and Rory teamed up, and took on everything in their own way highlighting their strengths. the little teaser at the end for the next book is EVERYTHING! Also I really hope we get a Priya book!

Thank you so very much TJ Rose for the arc!

We're back at killgrew street with our favorite paranormal investigation squad, as they work to get to the bottom of the latest mystery.
------------
Kit Thorne's guide to getting a soulmate:
1. Lock eyes with them and realize that you're fated mates
2. Spend more time with them, bring them gifts. Make it awkward each time. Maybe they will find it cute?
3. Follow them home to make sure they're safe
4. Offer to help to find out who is stalking them bc they get the feeling they're being followed
5. [Redacted ] Abort! Abort! Abort mission! 😂😂
----------
I freaking loved this!! The yearning was on a whole other level!
Kit waiting for years before he told Felix that he was his mate bc he didn't want to scare him off?! Ahhhhh!!!
And demi rep? Yesss, I'm already on board. 😍

I feel like stalking was very much his love language, worrying that Felix got home safely from work or wherever was so sweet.

Honestly, I really enjoyed their dynamic and how they adapted to each other. Fated mates gets me every time and I can never get enough of it. But what's extra wonderful in this one is just how quiet, peaceful and comfortable love can be.

It doesn't have to be loud declarations in the middle of the airport departures gate, it can be just knowing how to talk them down from a panic attack, or how they take their coffee.
That being said, Kit was absolutely feral for Felix, his inner wolf being possessive and kind of creepy in a very endearing way.
I really loved seeing the usually cool, calm and collected ex-military guy totally lose all his composure whenever Felix was near 😂 poor guy.

I'm super excited for the next one, that cliffhanger!!! I'm sad it's going to be the final one though. 🥺

give me more!

Omg I’m so glad I read this one. It was amazing! Shout out to diversity in all the best ways, Mc, side characters, all of it! This is what I need in my paranormal/ fantasy books. Diversity! Thank you TJ for hearing us!

Now to the story! I loved this. I loved it even more than the first book. I think the author is her stride down in this series. Now I didn’t read the first book because that troupe (enemies to more) isn’t my jam. That didn’t hinder me from knowing what was going on in this book. I will say you have to at least read one of the two so you understand the world a little better.

These two Mc’s were amazing together. I loved their mutual pining to more. And when more happens it was Hawt! I love the protectiveness BOTH of them had about each other. I loved their sweet moments that slowly build into this amazing love beyond just being mates. I could have kept reading about them. Excited to see how wren turns out in the next book. Poor Wren catching strays from everyone and he’s just being amazing.

In the know:
Dual POV
Diversity everywhere, YaY!
No cheating no sharing
Friendship before spice
But check ur triggers there are a few places that could be triggering for some (mostly the violence and such)

ARC REVIEW

I devoured all three books in the Killigrew Street Case Files. One of the biggest highlights for me was the writing style, there’s a consistent dash of humor on almost every page that makes the story feel light and fun.

We’ve got one plate, one fork (yes it’s a new trope 🙈)
and a possessive werewolf who is both deadly and giving “soft boy” in a cardigan.

Kit is always watching Felix (literally always), swearing he’s not stalking while very much stalking and then trying to start conversations like he practiced in the mirror all night (he did 🙈) and immediately forgot everything the second he opened his mouth. The secondhand embarrassment? Painful. Hilarious 😂🤷‍♀️

Throw in his hoodie-stealing, plant-daddy energy 🌱, plus a very questionable use of a desk chair and I was completely hooked.

But between all the chaos, books 2 and 3 actually deepens the backstory a lot.

And the ending? Perfect ❤️❤️❤️

I know a book is going to be a 5 star read when I physically cannot bring myself to put it down, and this book had me in a chokehold from the very beginning. I have been interested in Felix and Kit since the very first book and I wasn’t prepared for how much I was going to love them. 🥺 They are so sweet and gentle with each other and I just can’t take it! Such a beautiful and hard fought HEA, those two deserve all the good things. As always I loved all the side characters and the found family aspects of the Killigrew street team! I’m really looking forward to seeing where this series goes in the future (especially with that ending!)
