Meg, or Megaera, is one of the Furies you probably read about in Greek Mythology. She’s also been sitting on one of Sam Quinn’s stools in The Slaughtered Lamb Bookstore & Bar since it opened, glaring into silence anyone who tries to strike up a conversation with her.
Sam, being Sam, eventually broke through Meg’s walls and a tentative friendship grew—not a warm one, certainly. Meg doesn’t do warm. She has, though, in a crisis situation, shown up to fight alongside Sam.
Until recently, that is.
Sam’s getting more and more concerned about Meg’s strange absences and then she and Clive receive a text that turns their lives upside down. Meg tells Sam and Clive it’s their turn to help her…in Greece…in the Underworld.
Sam badgers her friend Stheno into coming with them. I mean, if you have to descend into Hades’ realm, a Gorgon can be pretty handy.
Keep your fingers crossed. Things are about to get downright mythological around here.
She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, and one fish. She comes from a long line of storytellers. She's just the first to put them in books. She's an avid reader and re-reader who misses her favorite characters when it's been too long between visits.
She's represented by the delightful Sarah E. Younger of the Nancy Yost Literary Agency
Not that impressed by this one. Felt the story was really outside of the main Sam Quinn world and maybe more suited to a spin-off / .5 book. Sam is the main character and the writing /plot is good but it felt more like the author had done a lot of research / reading of Greek mythology and wanted to use that, so we went through several Gods/Goddess and mythical creatures tick tick tick. Would read the next one still but hope it's back more relevant to Sam's life and world.
I love this series. I pre-order each new book and am so excited when I am alerted to its arrival. Not one of the books has disappointed me. The stories are captivating, the characters are great, there is humour, drama, love and lots of action. You won’t be disappointed, buy book one now.
Always a great adventure when you have companions like Sam and her friends. Scary that the book tied up loose ends. There had better be more of these enthralling stories.

Heather's Notes I did not like this book as much as others. While the story was great, I was sad that Sam and Clive were not together. It kind of soured the book for me. We got to see both of them, but the back and forth, messed with the rhythm of the book, IMO. I also didn't really care for the way Stephno and Vlad ended up. They were not a couple, but still show some sensitivity. I loved Brakken, and liked seeing him interact with Sam. I hope we have seen the last of the fairy king, especially since Gloria took her ring back. I look forwarding to seeing where this series goes next.

Another amazing story by this Writer. This time the storyline involves gods and goddesses from ancient times. Some of these gods are helpful and some put up more roadblocks. In this journey. The story has a sense of being on a roller coaster the entire time by this reader I would definitely check this out.
It was a little slow at the beginning but only a couple of chapters after that plenty of excitement I love Greek mythology and this certainly had plenty Hope Seana writes some more with the same characters Well I can live in hope Thank you Jean Hawksworth
What a fun mash-up of Sam's world and Greek mythology. As usual I have trouble stopping reading yet am sad to see it end. Though this ties up a lot of loose ends, I'm still hoping for more in this series.
What a fun romp with Sam and some of her friends. Started it and finished it in less than a day because I just couldn’t put it down. This author is a fantastic storyteller. I hope this story line goes on for a long time!!!
So much happens in this story. There are many adventures for the brave group in the Underworld. Many previous events are explained/revealed during their journey. I hope we get more stories with these characters that I have grown to love!
This one pretty much cleared any backlog on story arcs. Hopefully we're going to get a new arc, because I am still enjoying Sam and Clive. Plus, Glad deserves a HEA.
