My first Netra Antoinette book and it definitely won’t be my last! 👏🏾 Silent Surrender had me hooked from beginning to end. The suspense was truly spensing 😬🍿, and I did NOT see some of these twists coming!
Stormi, Niles, and those sisters had me invested the entire time. The secrets, loyalty, complicated relationships, and nonstop tension kept me locked in. That ending had me sitting there like 😱👏🏾. A 5-star read for me! I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from Netra Antoinette. 🫶🏽📚

The cover is stunning, and the story is interesting enough. I just didn’t get the thrill of everyone sleeping with each other as friends or friends of the partners it was just distracting to me. It made sense for the detective plotline but why was Stormi sleeping with her BFF and playing friendly with his girlfriend?? It actually distracted me and made this a lower star read than I expected.

When it comes to Netra she’s always gonna make me feel all the things. This book was different from others I’ve read from her but equally amazing! While there was romance involved this was very much so a suspense thriller! Stormi, Rayne, and Skye are the true definition of ride or die and ride at dawn no matter what! From beginning to end i was locked in . Most of the book i was conflicted between team Spencer or Team Niles until the end lol. That last 10% had me on edge and i couldn’t get my eyes to read fast enough . The plot twists was twisting like a mf! As always Netra drops gems and makes you think in a deep way! I loved it and excited for the official release.

Thank you NetGalley and Black Odyssey for the opportunity to read this!

REVIEW OF ADVANCED COPY FROM NETGALLERY

I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of Silent Surrender by Netra Antionette and baby… this one grabbed me from page one.

Imagine being deep into a case trying to figure out who’s responsible for a string of unalivings… meanwhile you’re slowly falling for someone who’s been right in front of you the whole time. The twist? She’s the very person you’re hunting and you don’t even realize it. Not at first… and definitely not in all the ways it’ll hit you.

The tension, the secrets, the way the story slowly starts clicking together… whew. I can’t wait to purchase a physical copy of this book when it comes out . 🔥📚

You ever read a character and immediately understand why she keeps her guard up?

Thank you to Netra Antoinette, Black Odyssey Media, and NetGalley for the ARC opportunity.

These sisters…Stormi, Rayne, and Skye? Yeah, they kicked this story off with a twist I wasn’t expecting but definitely supported. (🤫 No judging.)

I loved their bond. Sisterhood solid.

Loyal. Protective. Unapologetic. And absolutely not the women to play with, especially when it comes to their mama.

Every twist landed, buuuuut at the heart of this story was Stormi Feathers and Niles Grey.

And baby… I get it. 🤭

What stayed with me most wasn’t the suspense or the twists. It was watching two people who had been through life in very different ways figure out what it meant to let go and surrender to the unknown.

Stormi is the kind of character whose walls make sense. You understand why they’re there. And Niles? Let’s just say I appreciated the way he showed up throughout the story.

If you’re familiar with Netra’s books, then you already know she has a way of sprinkling little gems throughout her stories, and Silent Surrender is no different.

Please read the Author’s Note and Trigger Warnings before diving in.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.✨(4.5)

Yasssssssss! QUIET SHEROS!

Ohhh! Not a page wasted! I'm ready for book 2! Netra had us twisting and turning with this thriller. A "Guess who?" book is always a good time for me! These sisters silently moved about the world to rid it of the scum that inflict hurt and torture. It's so unfortunate that they needed to! 😔 Then here comes that thing called love... creeping, plotting, and conquering hearts when you least expect it. The invitation also went out to those things called jealousy, betrayal, and slime.
This was really a great read, and I'm so looking forward to book 2!

What did I just read another great book by Netra. We have triplets Stormi, Rayne and Skye who have different careers by day and seek justice for those who deserve it at night. Then Stormi meets an Ex Detective that's when all three sisters were ready to do the deed to protect the family. The story was layered and I enjoyed the characters very much I'm hoping this story continues cause I need more answers. Thank you to Black Odyssey and NetGalley for the Advanced Reader Copy all opinions are my own.

A sexy romance thriller!

Three sisters, vigilante justice, family secrets, and messy entanglements... This was a great start to a new series! Netra Antionette does what she always does by giving us a compelling story with complex characters and therapeutic life lessons. I loved how head strong and tortured the main characters, Stormie and Niles, are and watching work through their traumas together. I cannot wait to see what's in store for the other sisters.

Silent Surrender opened with a bang, immediately setting the tone for everything that would unfold.

Seventeen years later, Stormi Rayne and Skye are all grown up, and we get to see how they are navigating life. By day, they appear to be living normal lives, but by night, they become vigilantes.

This story primarily focuses on Stormi, the older sister. She has made a vow that she will never allow herself to fall in love or become emotionally attached to anyone in that way. Then along comes Niles, and the two immediately share a connection when their paths cross. Stormi eventually decides to throw caution to the wind and give Niles a chance. During that time, he gets into her headspace and exposes her to the idea of softness and vulnerability. Stormi is someone who needs control to thrive. She is focused on protecting others and rarely allows herself the space to simply exist in her softness. But when Niles comes along, he shows her a different side of life, and honestly, it feels like a breath of fresh air.

I really enjoyed Stormi and Niles together. I loved how patient he was with her and how she gradually allowed herself to let her guard down.

However, there are a lot of secrets, lies, and DEEP betrayal! It is one hot mess, and it left me shaking my head while being completely invested in seeing how everything would play out. The drama and suspense were undeniable. As the story unfolds, you begin to see the different layers of what is really happening and why each character is moving the way they are.

And the plot twists?! I was absolutely flabbergasted. The villain... WOW. I was blindsided to the utmost degree. Then what happened between Niles and Stormi was something I never saw coming, and I was thoroughly shocked. My heart was racing during those scenes.

One thing this story did exceptionally well was show how jealousy can completely blind people and ultimately cost them far more than they were ever willing to pay.

By the end, I found myself even more invested in the overall mystery. I cannot wait to read the books centered around the other two sisters because there is still so much suspense surrounding their past. Why was their mother moving the way she was? What really happened? I am eager to see how all these pieces come together as the series progresses.

Overall, this was an action-packed read filled with suspense, romance, and plenty of twists. The romantic suspense elements were executed well, and I found myself fully invested from beginning to end.

I highly recommend this read!

I received an advanced reader copy of Silent Surrender, and whew… this book completely pulled me in from the very first chapter. What starts as romantic suspense quickly unfolds into something much darker, emotionally layered, and impossible to put down.

Silent Surrender by Netra Antionette completely consumed me from the very beginning. This is one of those stories that quietly pulls you in and then refuses to let go. The atmosphere feels heavy with tension from the start, and every chapter carries this underlying feeling that something bigger is waiting beneath the surface.

At its core, this is a story about survival, trust, sisterhood, and the emotional impact of living through chaos for so long that peace begins to feel unfamiliar. The emotional depth of the characters is what truly made this book stand out to me. Stormi, Rayne, and Skye feel deeply connected to one another in a way that is protective, complicated, and unwavering. Their bond carried so much emotional weight throughout the story.

What I appreciated most was the balance between the suspense and emotional vulnerability. The romance never overpowered the story, but instead blended naturally into the tension already building around the characters. Every interaction felt intentional. Every conversation seemed layered with things left unsaid.

Netra Antionette has a writing style that feels incredibly cinematic. The pacing steadily builds, the tension continues tightening, and just when you think you understand where things are heading, the story shifts again. I found myself constantly trying to piece everything together while still emotionally attached to the characters themselves.

This book explores trauma, healing, loyalty, and emotional surrender in a way that feels raw without becoming overwhelming. It’s intense, immersive, and emotionally charged from beginning to end.

And that ending? I absolutely need the next installment immediately.

ARC Review | Silent Surrender by Netra Antoinette

Netra Antoinette really did something special with Silent Surrender. This wasn’t just a romance. It was a story about survival, healing, grief, vulnerability, and learning that strength doesn’t always look like carrying the world on your back.

Stormi immediately pulled me in. She’s fierce, guarded, unapologetic, and willing to do whatever it takes to protect the people she loves. Underneath all that toughness, though, is a woman carrying years of pain that she’s never truly allowed herself to unpack. Watching her slowly confront those walls instead of hiding behind them made for such an emotional journey.

And then there’s Niles…

Listen…where are the Nileses at? Because that man understood the assignment from beginning to end. He wasn’t trying to dim Stormi’s light or change who she was. He simply gave her something she’d never experienced before: safety. His patience, emotional maturity, intentionality, and unwavering consistency made every interaction between them feel meaningful. He proved that softness isn’t weakness and that sometimes the strongest love is the one that simply shows up.

One of my favorite parts of this story was how beautifully it explored emotional healing. The romance wasn’t built on fixing someone. It was built on creating space for someone to finally exhale. Every date, every conversation, every thoughtful gesture felt intentional and added another layer to their connection. Their chemistry was undeniable, but it was the emotional intimacy that completely won me over.

I also loved the relationship between Stormi, Rayne, and Skye. Their sisterhood was one of my favorite aspects of the book. The loyalty, humor, and unwavering love they shared grounded the story and reminded me that healing doesn’t only come through romance. Sometimes it starts with the people who’ve been standing beside you all along.

Netra’s writing was incredibly intentional. She balances heavy topics with tenderness, giving readers moments that make your heart race right alongside moments that make you pause and reflect. There were so many lines that felt like they were written directly for people who’ve spent their lives surviving instead of living.

Silent Surrender is emotional, romantic, suspenseful, and full of heart. It’s a reminder that sometimes the strongest people deserve someone who makes them feel safe enough to finally put their armor down.

If you love Black romance with emotionally mature characters, protective heroes, complex heroines, found healing, intentional love, family bonds, and a romance that prioritizes emotional intimacy just as much as chemistry, I absolutely recommend adding this one to your TBR.

Thank you to the publisher & author for the ARC in exchange for my honest review. This story stayed with me long after I turned the final page.

📚 Book Title: Silent Surrender
✍️🏽Author: Neetra Antoinette
📕 Format: 📱➕🎧
⭐️ Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶 Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

🕑 Quick Take:
Triplets Stormi, Rayne, and Skye had a difficult childhood because of their mother’s abusive marriage to their stepfather. They took matters into their own hands, which later led them to end the lives of men who preyed on women and children because the system meant to protect them was corrupt and left them vulnerable; each of them played a role.

Rayne was a mortician by day and their handler by night, vetting clients, planning executions, and cleaning up. Skye managed tech, hacking, money laundering, security breaches, cloning phones, and uncovering secrets. Stormi counseled women and teens at a local church and murdered their abusers at night.

Relationships were not a priority until Stormi met the church’s self-defense instructor, Niles Gray. But what she doesn’t know is that he is a former Homicide Detective who’s been asked to investigate a string of murders and missing men as a private investigator.

✨ Tropes
- Vigilante
- Former police homicide detective/private investigator
- Love triangle
- Instant connection
- Romantic suspense/thriller

⚠️ Heads Up (Read the Author’s Note)

💭Final Thoughts:
This was an exciting thriller to read. It had the right mix of suspense, romance, and action. However, the ending felt a bit rushed. I’d expected more of the private investigation from Niles to actually discover Stormi as the culprit, with some cat-and-mouse tension building up, instead of a single encounter where he says, “It was you.” It felt too easy, and the resolution was very quick. Still, their expressions of love and the way they let their walls down were beautiful, and I’m always happy when the good guys switch sides for true justice. Overall, it was a great read/listen.

Netra definitely put her foot in this book!

I liked how the beginning set the tone for what was to come and how what Stormi, Rayne and Skye experienced as youngsters shaped their lives as adults. This book focused on Stormi's character and she was laser focused on her day job and the operation her and her sisters formed but nothing else. She didn't even think about relationships or being in love. When Niles crossed paths with her he was interested but she didn't want to give him the time of day. After he convinced her to just give him a few days it was on. I enjoyed the way he was attentive to her, chose things for them to do that would really grab her attention and didn't take no nonsense. He was forceful but not in a rude way and he showed her he meant business. He did have a sweet side too which was nice to see. He wined and dined her and showed her what it meant to live a "soft life" and let someone take care of you which I liked for her. While I definitely enjoyed the romance between the two of them I was waiting for the other shoe to drop because neither of them were fully forthcoming with what they did for their professions and when it came out, I was like okay where do we go from here, what is going to happen next, how is this going to work?

This was a very engaging read that had me on edge at times, and there were twists I didn't see coming. I liked how Netra connected the dots with some things that were revealed about Niles's past and what was going on in the present day. and how everything came together. This book had it all, the thriller, suspense, romance, spice and it wouldn't be a Netra book without a message. Thank you to Black Odyssey Media for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

“The Storm stirred. The Rayne returned. And the Skye, once clear, began to darken. The Storm and the Rayne in the Skye started again.”

Tell me why this wreck me emotionally… because WOW😮‍💨

This story isn’t just dark…. it’s layered, intense, and dripping with that “don’t trust anyone but your sisters” energy.

Stormi, Rayne, and Skye are the definition of ride or die.
One runs logistics, one wipes the digital trail, and Stormi? She delivers the justice.

The sister bond in this book is EVERYTHING… loyal, complicated, and honestly a little terrifying in the best way. I wish I had sisters like them.

Stormi is that strong, sharp female lead who carries trauma like armor, and watching her slowly crack open when Niles Grey steps into her life? Yeah… I felt that shift.

Their dynamic adds this quiet tension that sneaks up on you…part romance, part emotional tug of war, and I was fully invested.

What really pulled me in was how cinematic the writing felt. Every scene played out like a movie in my head from suspense building, secrets unraveling, and just when you think you know where it’s going… nope. Twist. 😌

And LISTEN… that ending had me!!!!!
Like… I literally sat there staring at my book for a minute because WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?! 😭
I NEED MORE!
I NEED THE OTHER SISTER’S BOOKS!🔥
I NEED ALL FUTURE BOOKS BY NETRA!

If you love:
🖤 strong sister bonds
⚡️ morally grey justice vibes
🔥 tension + emotional depth
🕶️ dark thriller energy with romance woven in

…you’re going to want to add this one to your list ASAP.

Stormi and her sisters had it rough growing up, and because of that, they vowed never to let harm come to any other children. As adults, they live in the shadows, taking down predators and making the world a little safer with each player they take out of the game.

Life is going according to plan until she meets Niles. Until now, she’s kept her heart and emotions on ice, never letting anyone in. Sure, there’s her childhood friend and part-time lover, but she knows he’s not the one for her. Niles comes along and breaks down her walls, but there’s a problem- his past could threaten her future.

Overall, I thought this story had great potential, but ultimately fell flat with some plot holes and storylines that, in the end, didn’t seem to serve a purpose. While I loved how Stormi and Niles fell in love, I felt like it took at least half of the book to get there, and when it did, it was a bit rushed. We were teased with the possibility that Stormi’s mother might be living a double life on more than one occasion, but we never got a follow-up or any closure on what seemed to be an important element. The ending felt a bit rushed, and there weren’t any resolutions for all of the storylines that were presented.

I think it’s a great read if you’re looking for a love-driven plot with a splash of suspense and a thrill. I loved Stormi’s character - solid read and worth adding to your TBR.

Silent Surrender was my first book by Netra Antoinette, and it definitely won’t be my last.

This suspenseful thriller kept me engaged from beginning to end. The story follows Stormi, a woman carrying the weight of a difficult past while navigating a dangerous double life. What stood out most to me was that beneath all of her strength, Stormi simply wanted to be loved. That made her easy to connect with emotionally and gave the story a deeper layer beyond the suspense and action.

The romance between Stormi and Niles was one of my favorite parts of the book. While their connection developed quickly, it felt believable, and I found myself fully invested in their relationship. Niles was a great match for Stormi, and I loved seeing two characters who had both experienced hurt find comfort and understanding in each other.

The suspense elements kept me guessing, and there were several twists I didn’t see coming. The ending was both satisfying and shocking, which is exactly what I hope for in a thriller. I also enjoyed the bond between Stormi, Rayne & Skye, and how fiercely they supported one another, even when some aspects of their underground world felt a bit far-fetched.

The writing was easy to follow, and the story flowed well throughout. My only minor critique is that I felt there was a little too much focus on Saqqari at times.

Overall, I would recommend Silent Surrender to readers who enjoy suspense, romance, unexpected twists, and strong female characters.

Content Warnings: Violence, murder, trauma, and dementia.

ARC REVIEW

“I finally stopped fighting the wind, I realized peace doesn’t always come with noise. Sometimes it comes in the quiet. In the letting go. In the silent surrender.”

This book is definitely not what I expected at all! This romantic suspense follows three sisters (triplets to be exact) Stormi, Rayne, and Skye. The sisters grew up in a very abusive household, watching their stepfather abuse their mother for years. Until one day, they take a stand and the storm finally ends or so they thought.

The sisters are older now and all have their respective careers (professionally and in the crime organization they have built to help people that suffer from abuse and violence). Everything goes well until Stormi, the problem solver of the trio, meets Niles-a former homicide detective who begins working as the same church Stormi works at during the day. Niles shows special interest in Stormi and only requests 4 days to show her that love can be a great thing when experienced with the right person. And as they declare they want more than 4 days together, they don’t realize that love isn’t the only thing they’ll get rewarded with. Secrets, lies, and many scandals are revealed. And Niles and Stormi have to fight through it all to stay together.

I truly enjoyed this story and wished I could spend more time with them! Cause I wish I had 4 days with Mr. Niles myself lol. This book ends with a cliffhanger.

Whew! Netra knows how to write a good story that draws you in from the first page. The way I was taking notes and trying to piece together and still didn't guess where the story was going.

This is a psychological thriller/ romantic suspense that follows 3 sisters who are triplets, with book 1 focusing on sister Stormie. These 3 sisters watched their mother be abused by their stepfather and grew up with the need to unalive different abusers who take advantage of women and children. All 3 sisters have a role in the way they handle business, with Stormie mostly being the one to carry out these tasks.
Stormie swears off relationships, not able to be emotionally vulnerable to any man, that is until she meets Niles Grey. Niles is an ex-homicide detection, who was asked to do some PI work to investigate the string of murders happening and whether they are connected.

This story is perfect for readers like me who primarily read romance but wants to diversify their reading. this still had everything I love about a romance love story but with the added layer of suspense. Netra is becoming one of my favorite auto-read authors because of how she writes her stories with so much depth, and FMC who have been through so much, and the men she brings into their worlds. Lyle said all I need is a few dates to show you something different, and to show you that you can fall in love.

What happens when everything comes to light? go read it sis 🤣

Silent Surrender is a dark, compelling thriller that pulses with sisterhood, trauma, and the uneasy question of whether violence can ever truly set you free. Stormi, Rayne, and Skye Feathers are bound by blood and sharpened by the past, and the shadow‑empire they’ve built feels both chilling and strangely tender—a testament to how far they’ll go to protect the forgotten.

Stormi is the beating heart of the novel. Her quiet ferocity, her buried softness, and the flicker of hope she feels when she meets Niles Grey make her impossible to look away from. Their connection adds a fragile thread of light to a story steeped in darkness, and it’s handled with a restraint that makes it all the more affecting.

The tension builds beautifully as past and present collide, and the moral lines blur in ways that feel both unsettling and deeply human. This is a story about survival, loyalty, and the cost of choosing a different life when violence is the only language you’ve ever known. Gritty, emotional, and unexpectedly tender.

My thanks to Netra Antionette, the publisher and netgalley for the ARC

I went in completely blind. Didn’t even read the description. Best decision I made.

This book starts with a BANG and I mean that literally — two pages in and my jaw was already on the floor. I didn’t know I was getting a female assassin and honestly? That made it hit different.

Stormi is everything. The secrets, the backdoor relationships, the complicated dynamics — I was obsessed by 50% and it only got more chaotic from there. The romance is real and it delivers, but don’t sleep on the fact that this is more thriller than romance. The spice is perfect — not too much, completely plot-driven.

And for a book dealing with the subject matter it does, the author handled it with so much care. No on-page assault. Just weight and consequence. That matters.
My one issue is the ending moved way too fast. I needed at least 50 more pages. And Rayne and Skye? They deserve their whole own story. There has to be more coming, right?

Also — yes. Cliffhanger. I had a whole conniption.
This is my first Netra Antoinette book and I immediately ordered the rest of her catalog. That’s all you need to know.

Silent Surrender by Netra Antionette ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4 Stars)

Now this book was different… but in a good way!

This story was messy, dramatic, entertaining, and somehow still managed to be healing at the same time. Every single character was morally gray. Not one person escaped my judgment because every few chapters I was sitting there like, “Now why would you do that?!” 😂 So honestly, it was equal-opportunity side-eye for everybody.

What I really enjoyed was the suspense. There was the constant anticipation of when are they going to find out what we already know? But then Netra flipped it and had me wondering, wait a minute… what do THEY know that I don’t know yet? That push and pull kept me invested the entire time.

The characters felt real, flaws and all, and I appreciated that nobody was written as completely right or completely wrong. It made the story feel layered and kept me engaged from beginning to end.

And can we talk about the fact that we got loc baddies?! Period. 🤎

Overall, this was a very entertaining read that kept me turning pages and fully invested in the drama, secrets, and healing journey.

I had the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy of Silent Surrender by Netra Antionette, and I can confidently say this is my favorite book from her so far. From the first few chapters, I was completely pulled in. This book had me constantly saying “just one more chapter.” Before I knew it, I was deep into the story and fully invested in the characters.

What I loved most was how real and layered the characters felt. I found myself emotionally connected and wanting to know how everything would unfold. This story touches on coping with childhood trauma, navigating the realities of aging parents, and the complicated dynamics of love, lies, and secrets. It’s emotional, engaging, and full of moments that make you pause and think.

Overall, Silent Surrender is an incredible read that kept me hooked from beginning to end. If you enjoy stories with strong characters, emotional depth, and a plot that keeps you turning the pages, this is definitely one to add to your list.

Silent Surrender had me clutching my invisible pearls from start to finish. The story follows Stormi and her sisters, Rayne and Skye, who have successful careers by day but secretly work as assassins, taking down evil for the greater good. The sisters have made a pact to never fall in love but that vow is tested when Niles a former homicide detective enters Stormi’s life determined to prove he’s the one for her.

This book was packed with drama, secrets, and messy relationships and I loved every minute of it. The bond between Stormi, Rayne, and Skye was one of my favorite parts of the story. Their sisterhood felt genuine, strong, and unwavering. Netra’s writing kept me engaged throughout and she left me with plenty of questions that have me eager to continue the series.

Overall Silent Surrender was a suspenseful read that delivered action and drama with a touch of romance. I’m giving it 4.25 stars.

First and Foremost; Thank you to the author and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

Netra Antionette is an amazing story teller and she definitely put her heart and soul into this book. A dark suspense romance book will peak my interest always and this book delivers a captivating tale of sisters trying to uncover the truth about their past while also cleaning the city up by being vigilantes. Stormi is the main FMC of this book who does anything necessary to rid the world of scum bags but her methods are of the illegal kind. Nile is the MMC of the book who is the detective that is tasked with finding this mystery criminal aka Stormi. These two main characters are fighting their own personal battles while also playing a game of chess with one another. The chemistry was scorching hot 🥵 The twists were so twisty that I was almost dizzy. I would recommend this book to anyone who reads fiction no matter your preferred genre. Great book and I look forward to reading more from her.
