Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie, Lady Mallowan, DBE (née Miller) was an English writer known for her 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections, particularly those revolving around fictional detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. She also wrote the world's longest-running play, the murder mystery The Mousetrap, which has been performed in the West End of London since 1952. A writer during the "Golden Age of Detective Fiction", Christie has been called the "Queen of Crime". She also wrote six novels under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott. In 1971, she was made a Dame (DBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for her contributions to literature. Guinness World Records lists Christie as the best-selling fiction writer of all time, her novels having sold more than two billion copies.

This best-selling author of all time wrote 66 crime novels and story collections, fourteen plays, and six novels under a pseudonym in romance. Her books sold more than a billion copies in the English language and a billion in translation. According to Index Translationum, people translated her works into 103 languages at least, the most for an individual author. Of the most enduring figures in crime literature, she created Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple. She atuhored The Mousetrap, the longest-running play in the history of modern theater.

odio al patriarcado que me hizo leer a Conan Doyle antes que a Agatha Christie!!!! qué inteligente e ingeniosa forma de escribir

Un libro ideal para estas fechas. Se trata de una colección de relatos de misterio con un tono mucho más ligero y reconfortante de lo que suele asociarse al género, sin perder por ello la inteligencia ni el ingenio característicos de Agatha Christie.

Los cuentos se leen con facilidad y funcionan muy bien como pequeñas cápsulas de intriga: algunos más clásicos, otros más elaborados, pero en general todos con ese encanto británico tan reconocible. Destaco especialmente El cofre, el relato más ambicioso y satisfactorio del conjunto. La tarta de zarzamora, aunque muy breve, cierra el libro de forma simpática y deja una buena impresión al analizarla en conjunto.

No es un libro para buscar grandes giros ni tensión extrema, sino una lectura amable, entretenida y perfecta como respiro entre novelas más densas o para acompañar la temporada navideña. Un pequeño desestrés muy bienvenido.

Una historia sencilla pero entretenida, creo que es de las pocas historias de AG ambientadas en navidad.

En ningún momento si me cruzo por la mente ese final.
PD. Siento que este libro ya había leído y al mismo tiempo no, tal vez alguna historia parecida...?

Mi favorito hasta ahora. Fácilmente este pudo ser un caso más extenso.

Por algún motivo la forma de revelar la solución del caso de Miss Marple, me gusta más que la de Poirot.
