All Guns & Whistles by Katy Lee
⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a fast paced romantic suspense novel. At only a little over 150 pages of a story, be prepared for a quick romance. A frenemies to lovers, you’ll find this story packed with on the run action with touches of kisses only romance development. The characters are likeable and the author did a fairly good job creating depth despite the book length. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the book’s plot. One that will keep you guessing to the end and yet still leaving you with a happily ever after.

This romantic suspense has tropes of military man, bodyguard to lovers, forced proximity and in a way second chance romance set at holidays time. At coming close to a little over 180 pages, this was a fast yet many obstacles prevented love from working out so easily. This story is a big theme on forgiveness and learning from the past. Both Addie and Price had issues in past relationships that at certain times became roadblocks….more so for Addie than Price. I absolutely LOVED Price. Not just for his masculine and mature, Jason Bourne type persona but he has a soft and compassionate side too. Willing to sacrifice for the greater good….hence why he was so successful in the military.
Addie on the other hand, I had a hard time liking her throughout much of the book which is wanted to give 3 stars. I get she had some trust issues and was betrayed deeply and not to mention someone was trying to “kill” and threaten her but she was in my mind incredibly selfish. She wouldn’t hear Price out and yet would lead him on with a kiss and say don’t do that again etc. I am glad her sister finally “knocked” some sense into her.
With all that in mind, I did like the book and storyline plot overall as there was a twist I had not come to expect and added into the excitement of the book hence my rating being 4 stars. Clean, kisses only, no crude language or profanity.
Deadly Christmas Defender by Virginia Vaughan

I have yet to be disappointed in a book by Ms. Vaughn. Single mom, bodyguard romance, insta-love type romance. Bonded by protecting and searching for who wants Darby dead…this thrilling romantic suspense will bring all sorts of twists and turns and whodunits. With a fairly long list of those with grudges, you’ll make sure to pay attention to each perp as they slowly get checked off the list. Ms. Vaughn knows how to keep her readers on their toes and guessing to the very end!
Loved both characters….author did a great job allowing you to get to know them enough to understand their inner journey of decision making and such. You see vulnerability and tough guy too. 😜❤️
Well written, clean romance - kisses only….I would say a lot of the focus of the story is more on the suspense part vs romance but you’re given enough in my opinion that still keeps the romance in there….there is some violence (but not descriptive in detail) — attempted abduction, purser in crossfire, bomb explosions to name a few!

The second book in this anthology series has exciting circumstances and likeable characters, so there is something for everyone to enjoy.
All the Guns and Whistles by Katy Lee has a surprising romance between two characters who have known each other for years. It also includes danger from the mob because one character, Jayda saw something by accident. Now she must survive to have a future with Michael and family.

This was a great read really enjoyed each story there was never a dull moment. Glad I took the time to read it.
