Sometimes, the only way to fight fire is with fire.
Greer LeBlanc put her old life behind her when she moved back to New Orleans. She had pushed the one man she knew she could count on out of her mind. There were other problems to worry about now. Her little brother was being forced to work for one of the most dangerous men in the city to pay off their father’s debts. Now she had joined him, working as a dancer at one of the gentlemen’s clubs. But the harder she works to free them, the tighter the noose tightens around their neck.
Knox Monroe could take a hint. When Greer said they could never work out, he did his best to relegate her to the recesses of his mind and live his life. Until he learned she stumbled into some sort of trouble. Now, like it or not, he’s riding into the Big Easy ready to embroil himself in whatever mess she's in.
Can Knox use his wits and unique gift to save them all? Or will he leave their world in embers?
Avery Samson grew up on a ranch outside of a small west Texas town. Since she could remember, she’s had her face stuck in a book. High School graduation found her leaving ranch life for the big city.
After living all over the state of Texas, she now finds herself back on one of the family ranches near Dallas with her husband surrounded by cattle. A lot of them. They’re everywhere! When not traveling or reading, she spends her time writing.
Avery would love for you to follow her. She’s everywhere (just like those damn cows.)
I liked this book and thought Knox and Greer made a good couple. The chemistry between these two was great and I found the story engaging. Rich drama created plenty of tension and an angsty feel that I really enjoyed. I am volitionally posting a forthright review.
Superhero Science Fiction and Action Adventure with heat… Yum! Love the cover. Looks good enough to be the grouchy Knox Monroe: protector, sibling of same father but different mother and handler of fire. Each of the siblings have a special gift from their father who was highly fertile and always moving on to new adventures and new women. Having read the fourth book, “Justifiable” before this third book, I was aware of Knox and his gifts. In “Justifiable” Flint has been told by his elusive father that he should find Knox Monroe if he ever needs help. “Combustible” is all about the man that his younger siblings love and find in times of trouble. There is power in words. My favorite quote from Knox to Broussard about Greer: “She was never yours. She’s been mine since she was put on this earth, I just had to find her.” Greer and Knox met in a previous book and fought constantly but Knox knows when she needs him, he will be there. Moreover, the author has done an excellent job writing a most despicable character in Broussard. By mid-way in this book, I could not read fast enough. When Broussard starts hurting Greer, Knox has had all he can take. But there will be some hard times before they can get their HEA. I now want to read the previous books to round out the picture that I have of the siblings. Each book is a standalone story but could be enjoyed even more in order. If you like superheroes, action adventure with a sizzling hot alpha male romancing his fated mate, read this book. (Not a shifter story.) I volunteered to review an ARC of it through BookSirens.
This is the third book in this series, and this is Knox and Greer’s journey. Greer finds out that her brother in in trouble, so she packs up and moves to New Orleans to be with him, where she ends up working as a danger in a gentleman’s club. Knox is strong and grumpy, and he tries hard to forget Greer as she wished, but finding out she is in trouble, there is no way he is going to let her handle things on her own. This is a well written story which has undeniable chemistry, angst, drama, tension, danger, suspense, intrigue, emotions, twists, family, friendships, and love, which leads to a riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Elle Woods PR and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Knox told her to call him if she ever needed his help. Greer is too hard headed to admit she needs anyone's help. Now he has to head to New Orleans to see what trouble she's gotten herself into. He doesn't mind helping out a friend. Problem is, he's never been able to think of her as just a friend. Even after sending him packing, he still wants her.
Knox and Greer are my favorite hero and heroine in this entire series. He's big and grumpy. She goes toe-to-toe with him from the moment they meet in Invincible. I knew when I created his character he would need someone just as tough as he was. Greer does it in spades.
This is the story that everyone has been waiting for. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
The third book in this series and once I started reading it I had to stop purchase the first two and go on from there so that tells you how great a story this was
Greer and Knox have been friends for a while he is the only man she feels that she can trust but she doesn't hesitate to leave him behind and head to New Orleans when her brothers needs her help after all she can help him to pay of her fathers gambling debts Now she is working as a dancer in a men's club and things aren't going well. When the situation becomes dangerous Knox has no hesitation in heading to New Orleans to try to help her out Will she finally admit what is between them and can they have a future if they survive You will have to read to see
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.
Knox hasn’t forgotten Greer since he met her. One year later, he goes to visit Tyler and Dex and finds out that Greer went back to New Orleans after she told him that she never would. Knox goes in search of her and finds himself embroiled in things that may get him and Greer killed. This story is one of deceit, brutality, and misogyny. This story had me turning the pages and continuing until I was done. I loved it; especially the outcome. I think this is the best book of the series I’ve read so far. I’d give it more than a 5 if I could.
Combustible is book three of the Inhuman Protector Series and in this installment we follow Greer and Knox’s journey. Greer, learning her brother is in trouble, packs up and moves back to New Orleans, leaving behind the one man behind she could count on. Now she’s working at a gentleman’s club in order to help her brother, but things aren’t as planned. Knox has did his best to forget Greer, but upon learning she’s in trouble he’s determined to help her. I adored Knox and his big grumpy self. A great read and one I absolutely recommend.
Knox has had Greer on his mind. When he discovers she’s in trouble he rides to the rescue. But things are more complicated than he imagined. Still he’s got a few tricks up his sleeves. Good story although it seemed that Greer walked into trouble instead of thinking things through. My biggest problem with the story is that I started the series here and the rest of the family makes appearances. It took me a while to figure out who all the players were. Once I got a handle on that, the flow was better.
This is book 3 in Avery Samson's "Inhuman Protector Series", and it jumps straight into Knox and Greer's story. Greer's past is dark and gritty and comes back with a vengeance as she returns to try and save her brother, Deacon.
As always, Samson kicks up the spice and leaves readers wanting more. The action scenes and humor between Knox and Deacon are fantastic and the appearances by Memphis and Dex are great!

I was so looking forward to Knox's story and I was not disappointed. Greer was an equal to Knox. They had attraction, chemistry, love and fire. Danger always seems to follow one or the other of the brothers and sister with the green eyes and special gifts. Greer and her brother were in danger and Knox tries to help them. I could not put this book down it was so exciting and I could not wait to find out how it ended. I highly recommend this book to all paranormal romance readers.

This was another interesting, gritty tale. Greer was determined to protect her family. I loved her strength to do what was necessary but also to not keep her from following her heart. Knox was so protective of her and her family. Danger came around hard and often, and this couple made it through with more than bruises but hearts intact. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.
I received a copy of this story through Elle Woods Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
This is book 3 in the series, however you can read it as a standalone. Knox and Greer's story was compelling from the start. I dove in and did not come up for air until it was complete. Several angsty and action filled moments with a nice amount of spice. These characters are both feisty and stubborn so watching them meld together was great to read. Good story.
I'm in love with Knox, but I'm almost afraid to say that out loud - Greer scares me! She is Tyler's roommate (from Invincible, book 2), and she's incredible, devoted to family and willing to do anything to save her brother from his apparent fate. She gives Knox a run for his money. Together, they work to take down a criminal enterprise. This is the third book in this amazing series, and it's a real winner. I received an advance copy of the book, and this is my honest review.
Knox and Greer, having met prior bickered from time to time but their attraction to each other was intense. Unfortunately, when he finds out she has gone back to a place she vowed she would never return to he goes after her. Their story is suspenseful and full of danger as revelations come to light. Only Knox can free Greer from their predicament making this a fantastic read.

Combustible is an intoxicating story that held me spellbound from start to finish. I loved reading Knox and Greer’s story and easily connected with both of them. They have incredible chemistry that burns up the pages. I loved every minute of this suspenseful story. It is filled with drama and passion and it held me riveted as I eagerly turned the pages to find out what would happen next.
Book three is this series is written well and had good characters who have good connection and chemistry. The story is a mix of family, friends, drama, danger, suspense, twists and love. It flows well and holds your interest. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an ARC from Hidden Gems.
I loved this book!! Greer and Knox sizzle the pages. She's sassy with a dash of sweetness and he's an alpha who's ready for her. They're perfect for each other. The story was great, and it's all about good vs evil and the ones who are by your side to defeat said evil. Loved it. I hope there's more in the series, it was definitely set up for more!!
I enjoyed reading this. Action packed and the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters are wonderful and have amazing chemistry between them. It had me captivated from the beginning. I look forward to reading more of the series. Highly recommend reading this.
I absolutely loved this book! It has fast-paced adventure, a badass hero, a steamy romance, and an amazing story! Absolutely incredible!!! I loved Knox and Greer! There second chance romance was wonderful!
I won this on a giveaway and it started out good. I almost put it down so I could read the other two and then come back to it! It was a good story and I loved the love story.
Book three is about Knox who is a strong character in the first two books. I didn’t especially care for the FL. I thought she was too argumentative and stubborn, but the story is good and is action-packed. There is good chemistry between the leads and we learn a lot about both of them.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a tough, grumpy and wonderful hero.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and BookSirens and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own.
This is such a great read. There's drama, danger, angst, suspense, and plenty of intrigue. Knox and Greer are perfect together. I loved Knox!! He's big, grumpy and amazing. This story had me captivated from start to finish!! I highly recommend this book.
