The Puritans On: Anxiety: Biblical Counsel for the Anxious Soul

When anxiety takes hold, modern remedies often overlook the deepest need of the human heart. The Puritans on Anxiety brings together timeless wisdom from the great Puritan writers—men who wrestled with fear, doubt, and spiritual distress in the light of Scripture and the sovereignty of God.

Drawing on the works of John Owen, Richard Baxter, Jeremiah Burroughs, and others, this book distills their most practical and compassionate insights into a clear, modern voice. Each chapter offers scriptural truths, pastoral warmth, and practical application for those seeking rest in Christ amid life’s storms.

Inside you’ll

The Puritans’ profound understanding of the soul and the causes of anxiety

How biblical meditation restores peace and confidence in God’s providence

Whether you are a student of Reformed theology, a pastor looking for faithful counsel, or a believer battling the weight of anxiety, this book points you to the same hope that sustained the Puritans—the unshakable comfort of Christ.

This is the best thing I have ever read on anxiety by a country mile. There is a reason the Puritans were called doctors of the soul. And this is a very well done work. My only complaints all have to do with the final chapter.
