Our books are graphic and morally on the fence containing extremely sensitive material that may not be adapted to your needs. If you’re okay with all of this, just remember… we warned you. If you’re still reading after all of that then, by all means, sit down, relax, and enjoy the filthy, bumpy road ahead.
Okay, but what a fun and wild ride!?! I don't typically savor arcs because of time management etc but this one was definitely an exception! Without spoiling anything, if you read this book, you will not be disappointed-think MindF*ck series but more spice and much more fun 😉 LOVED 👏
MF Childhood Friends Next Door Neighbor Friends to Enemies to Lovers Touch Her & ☠️ Unaliver MMC Revenge/Vigilante You’re Mine OTT J/P Witty Banter
The Assa$$in Next Door is a standalone romance that is loosely connected to the authors’ other series.
Tanner Black and Berkleigh Brigham love to hate each other. The one-time childhood besties get off on insulting each other. They have turned their feud into a neighborhood wide event. One day Berkleigh has a life changing experience and Tanner is the only one she can turn to.
Tanner is a professional asssa$$in and smart a$$. He is obsessive, protective, and all alpha male. Berkleigh is an anxiety attack waiting to happen and a sarcasm aficionado. This duo are all wrong on paper but they have electric chemistry.
You will adore and root for Tanner and Berkleigh and delight in their legal (and illegal) antics. The witty banter in this book is top tier. This book brings both the drama and the funny. A truly fantastic read and new favorite.
Just when I think this author duo can’t possibly surprise me with what their delightfully devious minds might come up with next, along comes The Assassin Next Door and I’m completely hooked all over again. They have a real talent for creating morally grey characters who, against all odds, are incredibly likeable, and that’s exactly the case with the two protagonists here. Tanner Black and Berkleigh Brigham were once childhood best friends, but after Tanner trusted her with a secret that didn’t stay secret, their friendship imploded turning them into mortal enemies. Now adults, despite living next door to each other…. clearly by Tanner’s design, after all, how else could he torment her so consistently, they’ve been at daggers drawn ever since. And I have to say, nobody writes insults quite as creatively as these authors. Tanner and Berkleigh’s constant back-and-forth is one of the highlights of the book, filled with sharp, biting insults and wickedly funny banter that made their interactions laugh-out-loud funny. However, when something traumatic happens to Berkleigh, Tanner is the person she turns to. Not for comfort or sympathy, but for help in getting revenge and despite all the hostility and resentment between them, it’s clear that the connection they once had never fully disappeared and Berkleigh still holds a unique place in his life. Tanner might claim to hate her, but there’s an undeniable sense that he still sees her as his, which adds an extra layer of intensity to their relationship
For me, this book had everything I look for in a read - suspense, emotional turmoil, angst, and lots of deliciously dark humour. Yes, it’s undeniably steamy, if you thought their previous books were hot you ain’t read anything yet, this one turns the temperature up even further. but there’s so much more to it than gratuitous sex. The development of Tanner and Berkleigh’s relationship really stands out. Tanner is intense, unpredictable, and more than a little unhinged, but beneath all of that is someone who is fiercely loyal and protective, especially when it comes to his ‘Sweet Bee.’ Their connection is complex, messy, and surprisingly emotional making for a bold, dramatic, and completely absorbing read and by the end, Tanner had easily become the standout for me. Forget the grand romantic gestures and a finding a man who brings you flowers and chocolates – nothing says I love you like a body or two.
Wow what can I say about this novel.. Other than I absolutely loved it!
As always please read your trigger warnings!!
This is a beautifully written hauntingly dark but beautiful novel, one which caught me hook like and sinker. I absolutely ate this novel up.
We see the typical obsessive hot bad boy neighbour who has a secret that nobody knows about, Tanner lives next door to Berkleigh who have a hate relationship.
Once childhood friends turned enemies. Tanner hates Berkleigh for telling a secret she promised not to tell anyone, his childhood was full was trauma which made him the man he is today, the Assasin.
All it took was one night for Berkleigh to go out and say no, for something terrible to happen, the only place she could go was to the man next door.
We see their relationship develop, with stalking, obsession, sassy FMC, protective MMC and delicous spice.
These ladies have done it again, they have blown this storyline out of the bag! The way they have created this storyline and the characters inside is brilliantly done! It makes you want and need more!!
This hands down is my favourite book so far of 2026!
This isn't the first book of these authors I have read and I can hands down say it will not be the last!
The themes written in this novel is respectfully and carefully done.
If you are looking for a new author to binge I would highly reccomend these authors and their work!
Berkleigh (unfortunate name, but brilliant FMC) lives next door to her childhood best friend turned deadly enemy.
But when the worst happens to her, he's the one she turns to for help.
Tanner has a certain job, working for a familiar team if you know your N.O One lore. He shouldn't want to help the woman who ruined his life, and yet...
Some things are just meant to be.
If you like enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, or even just people getting their rocks off because they want to, then you'll love this.
Tanner is a psychopath. Berkleigh is a behavioral therapist... and together, they will get vengeance.
Words cannot explain how much I enjoyed this book, I was grinning and kicking my feet at some of the deranged love in here...
This book had me hook line and sinker. Tanner and Berkleigh used to be childhood best friends until one day a secret got told that led to Tanner feeling betrayed and sent away. This led to the now, next door neighbour enemies. An unimaginable event happens to Berkleigh and the only person she can turn to is Tanner. Forget about everything else, the chemistry these two portray is off the charts 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. The red flags are there and he's obsessed, but the way it's written is like everything finally falls into place. Morally grey ✔️, enemies to lovers ✔️, touch her and ☠️ vibes ✔️ absolutely amazing read loved it and I loved the little cameos from other series.
Is he a sycopath.. yes..unhinged.. also yes.. do i still love him, Oh absolutely. Damn these ladies know how to put a man together because Tanner is 🥵 I absolutely loved this book, I could not put it down, I blew through the pages like a woman possessed, my emotions were all over the place, the plot was perfection. From cover to cover berkleigh and tanner had my complete attention. This devastatingly beautiful book is a must read.
If you love morally grey men, red flags galore, and no triggers then this book is for you. It was a sweet combination of childhood best friends turned enemies to lovers BUT with stalking and touch her and die vibes. It was the best combination of tropes for those that love Dark Romance. 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
This friends to enemies to lovers romance has a great storyline and characters you're sure to love. Growing up as next door neighbors, Tanner and Berkleigh are the best of friends, until suddenly they aren't. Tanner goes away to live with his uncle for a while. When he returns, he's cold and mean and Berkleigh is bullied mercilessly throughout high school and even her college years. What happens on that dark, wet night when she finds herself crawling to his door for help? Will Tanner put the past aside and help his Sweet Bee? You're going to have to read their story to find out. If you love a spicy romance full of witty banter from characters you're sure to love and a storyline that keeps you turning the pages, this one's for you. I absolutely loved it!
These ladies never cease to give me a good time! From the very first sentence to the very last it had me absorbed.
Tanner and Berkleigh were childhood best friends. Tanner has a horrible life and after he goes to stay with his uncle one summer he comes back a different child and blames Berkleigh ( his Sweet Bee) for things that happened. This then leads to years of bullying and stalking.
I love a book with lots of banter and these ladies always give it us in abundance. Its filthy, its gory, sad in places and funny, exactly what i expect.
Cant recommend this book and their others enough. What are you waiting for ???
Tanner and Berleigh were childhood best friends always looking out for one another until one day things changed for Tanner and best friends became enemies. As usual the book kicks off with the spice on page one none of this 50% through the book to get to the goods. I dare you not to fall in love with this couple they are perfect together. Tanner is a psychopath and knew from an early age that he was different from everyone else. Living next door to Berleigh was the only good thing he had in what was a brutal upbringing . One day everything changed though and as a resilient he was sent to live with his uncle and when he returned he went from being Berleigh’s best friend to tormentor. Berleigh has no idea why and is left alone with no friends and being bullied by the mean cool girls. After enlisting in the Marines and Berleigh graduating from college the two are once again back to being neighbours. They torment one another with sassy comments being thrown and endless one night stands being paraded to cause effect, until Berleigh finds herself in trouble and with only one person she can turn to Tanner comes home to find her huddled on the ground on his porch. What takes off from there is just excellent. Berleigh finds out things about Tanner that he has kept hidden and Tanner learns that he is suddenly having these weird feelings inside … could it be love. To me this book had everything I love about these ladies and more. I especially loved the flashbacks to Tanner and Berleigh’s childhood it made me feel so much more for our main characters. I’m seriously thinking that there is something wrong me because all the bits that made me laugh was the psychotic thoughts Tanner had especially what he was going to do with the tongue of Berleigh’s biggest childhood bully. So what can you expect from this book other than excellent writing and visual storytelling Enemies to lovers Touch her and 💀 Revenge plot Taking back control Hotness and chemistry off the charts
If you are new to these amazing lovely ladies then I would recommend you dive straight into their world With the Escort Series. This book is a stand-a-lone read but these ladies always manage to bring characters in from their interconnected world.
N.O.One have done it again. I'm floored, this book is perfect 💖 Hot, fierce, ruthless, powerful and steamy Karma. Berkleigh and Tanner loath each other. Flaunting conquests and anything else they can to wind each other up. They have been neighbours for life. It wasn't always this way. They used to be best friends, but that all changed one summer. However when everything goes wrong for Berkleigh. The only person she can think of to go for comfort is Tanner. So when he finds her broken and bruised on his doorstep he discovered he will still scorch the earth for her. Berkleigh is fierce, protective and self sufficient in every aspect of her life. A lesson she learnt and now lives by. She needs no one and has no one. Until one fateful night. Tanner is also a loner. Though his profession works best that way. He has no problems living by his own rules. Berkleigh and Tanner are brilliant, together and alone. Both living with wounds, they don't realise how much they need each other until it's nearly too late. I love these characters. They are beautifully written with such passion and love. The lust cries from the page, pulling you in and not letting go. Then the backstory and passion has you crying and gasping in ecstacy. What a ride. I was hooked from the first page. No surprise for me with these authors. You will be too. I highly recommend this book and authors. They do not disappoint 💖
Love love love LOVE this book !!!!!! I will always recommend No Ones books to anyone willing to listen, they just hit differently 😮💨
I DIDNT KNOW WHERE ELSE TO GO TROPE LETTTSSS GOOOOOO
These ladies never fail to make absolute corker characters, Berkleigh & Tanner are made for eachother and that becomes more and more evident as the story develops. The beginning of this book had me crying in public 🥲
Blondie & Brunette’s fmc’s are ALWAYS top tier, absolute badass’ and no matter what happens to them, always bounce back and come out stronger, Berkleigh is no exception. What a woman!
& Tanner, WHAT A MAN 🤪 He will do anything for his woman and whilst he doesn’t love conventionally, boyyyy does he LOVE 🥹 The mouth on this man had me giggling like a maniac - The spice was also 🤌🏻🤌🏻
The banter between these two was top tier, i loved all the quick little responses and the sarcastic witty replies, these really are one of my favourite couples🥹 Onyx & Purple flags all look the same if you have sunglasses on 🤷🏻♀️
ALSO THAT ENDING ????? I had a feeling we were gonna see some of my favourite people again and i was SO excited when Rapture was mentioned!! The Escort Series really is one of my all time favourites and I love seeing old faces and getting little bits of information about how they’re doing 🫶🏻 Also!!! J!!!! I love you!!! Hello my gorgeous!!
If you couldn’t tell, I absolutely loved this book and these characters and i cant wait to see where else this series of books go 😊
“ You are the reason the sun rises and the moon rests “ 😩

This was my first foray into the world of this author combo and I loved it! Tanner Black is a former military special ops agent turned trained assassin. Berkleigh lives next door and he hates her. They were childhood best friends, but when she revealed a secret that led to him being sent away, everything changed. Now they’re enemies and neighbours. When Berkleigh suffers a horrendous attack, she turns to Tanner because he’s the only one she can trust. Tanner and Berkleigh are great characters. Tanner is morally grey but deep down he really cares about Berkleigh and always has. Berkleigh has become a stronger woman since being bullied in school at the hands of Tanner and his friends. She’s also a bit reckless. Put these two together and their attraction sends sparks flying. The steam between them melts the pages! The book is extremely well written and has a great storyline. I love the flashbacks that gave the main characters background and what had caused the initial rift between them. This was one of my favourite reads of the year so far. Thank you to the authors for the arc to read and review.
'Karma is watching and her memory is on- fucking- point. May she come sooner rather than later.'
🖤 The Assassin Next Door by N.O.One 🖤
The Assassin Next Door is the newest dark romance book by the fabulous Blondie and Brunette. This is full of sassy, violence, spice and so much more. Make sure you check the TWs before reading but you should definitely pick this up!!
'“Karma has a way of balancing out the evil shit in the world.” Remember, it’s me. I’m Karma. And I’ll make sure these assholes never breathe again.'
An instant favourite again! I mean who am I kidding, if these two write it then I will read it. I loved that timeline jumps from the present to the past in this, it really built the history around the two MCs and gave more to the story.
“You do not get to leave me. Not now. Not ever.”
Most things don't shock me, but the audacity of a certain someone in this had me feeling certain ways that involve a bat 🏏 I loveeeedddd the retribution he got, yes my girl Berkleigh 👏🏻 honestly this book was an insane rollercoaster and I loved every minute of it.
“I will find him for you, Sweet Bee, and I will bring you his motherfucking dick as a trophy.”
Tanner and Berkleigh were the perfect friend to enemies to lovers, I can see how this book started from a meme, 'I had nowhere to go trope', so now I will be sending memes for future books 😂
"They all deserved to die because they fucking touched what’s mine.”
This was dark, brutal, sassy, spicy and absolutely satisfying. 1000% recommend you go and preorder this beauty because you will not be disappointed!!
🎯 I had nowhere to go 🖤 Touch her and 💀 🎯 Girl next door X hot ex marine 🖤 Revenge plot
These two never cease to amaze me with their gripping and entertaining stories.
This was a dark and intriguing friends-to-enemies-to-lovers story. Please heed the trigger warnings if you have any.
You would think by now that these two can't surprise me - I will never assume that again. Never judge a book by it's cover - cause you will be wrong almost every time.
Berkleigh and Tanner were best friends growing up, til one day all that changed. These two have very unique personalities and I loved how these two authors showcased those qualities and slowly unwrapped them as the story progressed.
This story developed and unfolded perfectly. I hadn't expected to truly love these two characters so much. And Tanner is the perfect stalker psycho you will ever meet.
ARC review I would like to thank the authors for the ARC ♡
This book has a lot of tropes I love - Childhood friends - He's an assassin and her neighbor - Can only turn to him when she's in danger - The opening scene! 😮🥵 - Her birthday present
I love it when not only the plot is good but also has good writing. The subplots you might think it can be confusing because there also flashbacks in the story but its not. I actually love it when a story has flashbacks from the main characters 😊
There wasn't anything specific I didn't like. The main characters got together pretty quick. At first I thought it was happening too fast. But what happens after they het together is still exciting to read. With the thrill, dark steamy vibes and some surprising plots I had a lot of fun reading the book! I have to say the birthday present surprised me the most!
Best friends, to bully (kind of), to stalker to touch her and d*e. What more could you want!! I am someone you doesn’t necessarily read the blurb of a book of auto read authors so I did go in a bit blind to this one and so I wasn’t sure what to expect but it didn't disappoint. It does flash back to their childhood to explain things but these are quite short snippets at the start of some of the chapters which I think is a great way to do it rather than whole chapters as I find that can ruin the flow of the story. I loved all the mentions of the characters from all the previous books, but for me this does have a downside because I know want to go back and start them all over again! If you love a psychotic MMC then this is the book for you, do check the triggers but if you have read any other books from N.O. One then you will be fine with this one too.
Saint Tanner Black at your service. Another knock out from our favourite dynamic duo! Tanner and Berkleigh are out main characters with chemistry to spare. Brought together as neighbours and friends as children, their relationship soured with age, until now. You've got suspense, trauma, sex appeal and spice galore. Tanner will be your new favourite bad boy, so jump on in and get ready for the ride. "Scrub scrub, motherf*#kers."
What a book! I certainly didn't see that plot coming. Dark and hot, Berkleigh and Tanner's story of friends to enemies, to lovers, definitely catches and keeps your attention. I love the sass and banter between these two. A line that sums it up nicely for me: Karma's filing her nails and wishing me good luck soaked in sarcasm Highly recommend reading, obviously read the trigger warnings first. Another great book from this lovely duo!
Oh sweet Berkleigh and Tanner. From childhood best friends- to high school bully(to Berkleigh)-to neighbors as adults. The hate/love relationship they have to becoming a dynamic duo. Left me in a whirlwind of emotions. Loved the flashback/memories from each character throughout the book, just brought the whole story together perfectly. I highly recommend this book, but please check your TW, your mental health is important!
This enemies to lovers story, with a psychopath assassin and a therapist is amazing. From the get go, the insults start to fly between Berkleigh and Tanner. When an incident happens, Tanner’s protective side comes out. Although his help is by no means normal, which makes me love him more. Absolutely loved it.
This was a crazy ride. Friends to enemies to lovers? Yes all day. Tanner and Berkleigh’s chemistry made for a great read. Love that unhinged psycho and his war on trash pandas, had me laughing a lot. The banter was good and you couldn’t help root for them. The journey was satisfying and can’t wait to get the next book in the series. Check TWs but give it a shot.
Smokin!! This book is hot! Not only do we have Spice burning up the pages but the plot and dialog are awesome. A big YES to me is banter and good back and forth we with the characters and this book does deliver. Now given the title being aware of the content for darkness and trigs please look for author notes. I highly recommend this read !!
This book took me for a loop!! The banter and relationship between Tanner and Berkleigh was amazing. I laughed so much at these two and how they were with each other. I have to say Berkleigh amazed me. This book takes turns you never see coming. I say it everytime I read a new book by the girls that it can't get any better and it always does. This book needs to be on everyone's TBR list !!
Tropes: Serial Killer Hitman Feminine Rage Frenemies To Lovers Childhood Friends “I didn’t know where to go.” Touch Her And Die Revenge
“You’re the biggest walking, talking asshole that ever walked earth, waving around those red flags like it’s a sport —.” “Yeah, but red’s your favourite colour, Sweet Bee.”
Honey, red is every dark romance girlies favourite colour, that and morally grey mixed in. I really enjoyed this one, it was a different approach to the boy next door of the lighter genres. And it went all the way when we introduced tragedy and feminine rage, with revenge. A personal favourite of mine.
Berkleigh was a strong ass FMC despite the trauma and tragedy that graced her throughout this book, and let me tell you my heart ached for her when she was put into a terrible situation (please check your triggers.) She becomes exactly what you wanted in a feminine rage glow up and takes revenge into her own hands whilst also trusting Tanner to do what she might not be able to.
“You bleeding all over me is the highlight of my fucking life.”
The plot and the execution were complimentary to one another and made for a smooth and easy read. And with the hot, heavy and heated spice dabbled throughout it was worth every blush, every laugh and tear that NO ONE drew out of me as I read.
“I need it harder.” “You need exactly what up I give you.”
Tanner was a stalking, killing, possessive MMC who was the embodiment of Touch Her And Die, and somehow even in his dominating, asshole ish ways, you also ended up feeling for him in the worst ways, hurting for him. The ability to make you feel for characters has never been an issue in a NO ONE.
Let me tell you, from the very first page I was absolutely HOOKED on this book!
The tension between Berkleigh and Tanner 🥵 my goodness! I’ve never read ‘enemies’ written so well and thought, well how the hell will these ever get to the ‘lovers’ stage!? Thankfully, I found out and 💥
I just need to applaud ‘The Blonde one’ and ‘The Brunette One’ because they know how to write sarcy, fierce, baddass FMC’s, and they also know how to write the MMC’s who try to tame them, keep them alive, keep them away from anyone else, protect them, feed them, f*** them! Now back to the story…
Incredible, he’ll go to the ends of the world to keep her safe, even if she has no clue about it!
We’ve got Morally Black MMC ✔️ Enemies to lovers ✔️ Second Chance ✔️ Childhood best friends ✔️ Next Door neighbours ✔️ Lil stalking 🎥 ✔️ Calling her ‘baby’ ✔️
I want to read it all over again!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Tanner is the epitome of the not red flag man! Onyx might be a better colour choice ;) The love these two have may be unscrupulous and forged in trauma, but it is hot, authentic and real. This is a proper page turner and a gritty read. As you expect from N.O One the spice is spicing, with the spicy scenes truly tip top, with a level of delicious detail that leaves you wanting more. This book isn't for the faint hearted and if you've triggers, then do familiarize yourself with what they are and only read ahead if your sure. This is a very dark romance, with dangerous men but a true love story also :D
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.
I am going to go ahead and tell you that this is a book you will not be able to lay down. Once I picked it up and read the first chapter I was hooked!!! This is the story of Tanner and Berkleigh. These two are childhood best friends for a while until it all changed and he and some girls at school became the bullies of all bullies to her. Her life was gosh, I have no words for it. You do get to see moment from their childhood while reading this book and I appreciated that so much. Now they are neighbors living in their childhood homes minus their parents and he is still just as mean as ever to her. But, under all that hate I knew there had to be more. Tanner's childhood will break your heart. He is a marine that served his time and now I am sure you can guess his job. I so have to stop talking about the story now. I am gald I wasn't really sure about what was in this book before picking it up. It is to easy to say something and spoil it. But trust me, I could go on and on and on about this book. Berkleigh is a girl whos life revolves around work for obvious reasons. She doesn't really have friends and fills her days with work and her nights at clubs because she knows that she will never find live. She is sassy and tries to give as good as Tanner hands it out to her. She is smart and I have to say the girl needs to work on being aware of her surroundings. She made me a nervous wreck a time or two. Tanner is a man that has a heart. He just forgot how to use it. He is tough as nail and not someone you would mess with. But at one point his Sweet Bee was everything to him.Now here is the gold in this book and what I wasn't expecting. Taner is funny and when I say funny he is Chapter 18 mouth full of Dr. Pepper that almost got spewed all over the place funny. Oh my gosh how I loved this guy!!! We all need a Tanner of our own. You will see what I mean when you read this book. There is not a book that I have not loved that N.O. One writes. These girls know how to suck you in. Keep you on the edge of your seat. Keep you entertained and make you fall in love with their characters so hard you will never forget them. Now I need for you to run and get this book. I for one am going to have to go back and do some more reading of the books that contain the DOGS. I didn't discover these ladies until 2024. You know you have found gold when your goal is to read them all. I know that is early in 2026, but there is not possible way that this book doesn't go on the top of my favorite reads of this year list. YES, this book is that good!!!!
This was one of the sweetest books! And I know seeing the blurb, other reviews etc you’re going to say what is wrong with you?? But hear me out! Who doesn’t love a book where the FMC is bratty, independent, has all the sass, but needs her guy? And then we get our MC who has allllll the red flags, an understatement, and our girl grows her claws? Come on, this is what happily ever afters are made for!! I love the dynamic between the characters, the back and forth, push and pull, snark and steam. We get so many different tropes here, enemies to lovers, red flag MC, antihero, morally gray (probably no morals at all but I’m not judging haha), small town romance, and the list goes on! This is like a hallmark movie on crack. You get all the good feels but delivered in a dirty, grimy way that you just want more of. And there is dark, but not pitch dark, just enough dark to make the contrast stand out for the sweet scenes that really aren’t unless you love your guys carrying all the flags. There’s no fluff, no filler, and just like every other book from them, the authors start out with a hook to pull you in from page one and just don’t let go. While the on scene dark graphic stuff is a little more mild than K Webster’s War and Peace series, I think readers who enjoyed that will also love this #teamhannah - especially if your favorite book was Hannah’s (mine was). A must read, I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
