The mantra I live by so no one can hurt me in the same way my parents did.
I’m Tommy Schneider, the most feared player in the NHL with a last name to match my bad boy reputation. Only, I’m the better, stronger, faster version of my estranged dad. Everything in my life I control with expert precision—from the hits I land in fights to the tattoos covering my body. Nothing and no one can get the better of me. I’m impermeable, a wall of steel that’s as cold as it is opaque.
So when my trade to the New York Blades is met with controversy, it’s fair to say I’m unbothered. The recently appointed General Manager expects a brutal enforcer, and that’s exactly what he’ll get.
But what I didn’t expect when I landed in Brooklyn? Jenna Miller. And the way she unceremoniously turned me down. I shouldn’t let her rejection weave it’s way under my skin, and I definitely shouldn’t have punched her brother when he tried to defend Jenna’s honor.
Instead, I should heed my mantra and walk away from the girl who hates my guts and grates on me with her bratty smile and backtalking mouth. If I don’t, I know someone will eventually get hurt. But each time I back off, I wind up standing outside her apartment door again.
I’m in the fight of my life, with so much more at risk than just broken bones and bruises …

Actual rating 4.5 ⭐️
This book was sooo good!!! It was my first book of hers and I'm actually amazed at how amazing and entertaining it was. Literally finished it in 4 hours because I couldn't put it down. The chemistry, the hate to love, the hate sex scenes... their soft moments. I adore Jenna and Tommy sooo much!!! The found family in this was also amazing and I can't wait for the next book!
There are a few take aways now that I have finished Full Tilt:
1. I do in fact love an asshole 2. I love when I see myself in the FMC 3. Hate sex is the best sex and you can NOT convince me otherwise
If you also love those three things, then buckle up because you are about to straight DEVOUR this one! Now if you are well versed in the Ruth-verse then you are about to get everything that you love about Ruth's writing but this one she took to a whole new level and dare I say this may be her best one yet and it pains me to say this but Tommy may have taken JJ's number one spot. And my only complaint is Ruth made me fall in love with a 24 year old fictional man with the name Tommy!
Listen, you may go into this one unsure if Tommy will be able to redeem himself. Especially if you have read Ruth's back log. He is a dick. But I found him to be loveable. Like I couldn't dislike that man if you made me and trust me Ruth will try her hardest to make you dislike him. But there is a reason why Tommy is the way he is and all I have to say is trust Ruth's process. And at the end of the day, that man was OBSESSED with Jenna. And the only reason why they were "enemies" was because she rejected him and bruised his ego but here is the thing, these two are so insanely attracted to one another. And they can't fight their attraction for long so what better way to satiate the beast then with a good hate fuck because you know fucking it out of your system always works 🙄 And in Tommy and Jenna's case, it did the exact opposite lol
At the end of the day, I did love this book. I loved the plot, the spice and Tommy's well deserved redemption. Jenna was exactly what he needed to clean up his act. She really saw Tommy at his core. She made him feel these emotions that he never thought he would feel. And Tommy made Jenna feel loved on a deep level that she has never felt before. Ugh it was just so good!
You should most definitely read this book if you like: - Hockey Romance - Dual Athletes - Enemies to Lovers - Reformed Playgirl - Bad Boy - She's older - He Falls First and HARD - Found Family - Redemption Arc
* I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Ruth Stilling for allowing me the pleasure to read Full Tilt as an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and review.
The characters were some of the most insufferable ones ever written. The MMC was arrogant, selfish, and thought he was above everyone else. Just because he went through some things, he seemed to think it was okay to act like a jerk to everyone around him. The FMC was so annoying that I actually got a headache!
After I finished the previous book, I knew I would absolutely love Tommy and Jenna's story. I've been eagerly anticipating their book, and it did not disappoint! Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope, and this one was done perfectly. The chemistry between Tommy and Jenna is sizzling hot—seriously, their scenes are on fire! I really enjoyed their banter and how they hate each other while clearly trying to fight their attraction. The hate sex scenes? Wow, just wow!
Tommy is the bad boy hockey player—always picking fights, rude, and not really caring about what anyone thinks. But underneath that bad boy exterior, there's a boy who has been hurt before and longs for love. Then, there's Jenna, who's had her fair share of bad luck in relationships. After her last one fizzled out, she’s convinced that love isn’t for her. She’s all about casual encounters, but deep down, she’s a romantic who craves the kind of love that makes her feel safe and cherished.
From the very first moment Tommy laid eyes on Jenna, he was attracted to her. But when she turned him down, his ego took a hit, and he responded by lashing out. I have to admit, there were moments when I didn't like Tommy much, especially when he threw hurtful words at Jenna. It was tough to see his charm at times, but by the end, he won me over. No matter how much he tried to deny his feelings, he couldn’t stay away from her. He kept showing up at her apartment, cooking for her, looking after her, and all those little gestures were super swoony!
What I loved most was when Tommy messed up, Jenna didn’t forgive him instantly. She took her time, protecting herself from getting hurt while still allowing him a chance to make things right. It was great to see her make him prove his commitment to her. Watching Tommy earn Jenna's trust was a sweet journey, and I loved how Jenna was able to see the real him, making him a better person.
The found family aspect of this book warmed my heart. The camaraderie among the hockey players, how they welcomed Tommy into their circle at the end, and Sawyer’s conversations with him were truly touching. You could see how much they genuinely cared, especially when Tommy got injured and when they included him in their group chat. It made me love these characters even more. Overall, this book turned out to be such a fantastic read and my favorite from the series so far! I'm so excited to read the next book!
Ohh, how grateful I am for being part of Ruth's permanent team, because I was dying to read this 4th book from The Blade Kings series😍😍. Thank you so, so much for this early copy!
Two people, one common thing. Jenna and Tommy had a mutual loathing towards each other, one filled with lots of tension. Tommy was the bad boy with a really complicated life, who chose to stay underneath that veil to not get hurt anymore. Jenna was the type of girl who enjoyed being with another man every night, being resigned to the thought that she'll never find the right man for her. They were so different, yet acted like two magnets who could barely stand a chance against that pull they had towards each other. But could they be right for each other or hurt one another even more?
Ahhh, this was such a brilliant book!! I was invested into this story even from the first page, keeping me captivated until the last word! That hate between Jenna and Tommy was everything in this book and I enjoyed so, so much that tension and constant banter. They were super undecided about their feelings but I got to know them throughout the book and to understand why they choose to be the way they were. Both of them didn't have the best situation in their lives, struggling with the acceptance from the people who supposed to be in their corner. I can say that what these two had together was pure fire, having the most explosive encounters. And I can say the same thing about the spiciness of this book, which was at a pretty high level🥵.
This continues to confirm me that I adore everything Ruth is writing, loving each character she created so far. This book was such a rollercoaster, one which made me enjoy the ride, but also put me through so many emotions! The most important thing was the giddiness I felt when Tommy and Jenna were in each other's presence, loving that feeling that formed each time they were together.
I just finished this book, and honestly, I don’t know if I finished the book or if the book finished me. Ruth… wow. What an incredible story between Tommy and Jenna. From the very beginning, I knew it was going to hurt. It was intense, difficult, but at the same time perfect. This book goes straight into my top favorite sports romances.
The story is complex: Tommy is a professional hockey player, and Jenna is a professional soccer player. Two completely opposite worlds, but connected through the same group of friends. The problem starts when Tommy, because of a situation involving Jenna, hurts her deeply. And trust me, she has every right to hate him. I would too, if I were her.
Let’s talk about Tommy. He’s a character that’s really hard to love. From the first pages, he annoys you, even frustrates you. He’s arrogant, closed off, and seems to live by “the world against me, and me against the world.” But behind all that, there’s a broken boy. Betrayed by his mom, betrayed by his dad. Reading him hurts because you realize he’s not a villain, just someone damaged, screaming for help in the worst ways. And that’s where Jenna comes in.
Jenna is pure life. She loves herself, her body, her sexuality, her friends, her sports. She’s the kind of person who lights up a room without even trying. But deep down, she longs for something more: what her friends have. Not out of envy, but from the heart. She wants a family, a real love, someone to share her world with.
Then Tommy enters. And she thinks he’s only here to ruin her life. And in a way, he does… but he also shakes things up in the best possible way. Tommy disrupts her peace, changes her rhythm, becomes the noise she didn’t know she needed. Jenna loves her freedom, but Tommy challenges her, makes her question what she really wants. He confronts her, pushes her, makes her explode emotionally. And that’s when you see how they truly complement each other. She calms his storms. He breaks down her walls. They needed each other to become who they end up being.
There comes a point where they just can’t take it anymore. They can’t keep holding onto hate or pretending they don’t want each other. That’s when the book explodes. This is a real Enemies to Lovers. They hate each other, you feel the tension on every page, and all you can think is: “Kiss or kill already, just do something!”
The story is explosive, intense, heartbreaking, and beautiful. I cried. By 80% in, I was a mess, but so happy because every tear was worth it. And let’s talk about the spice. This is easily one of Ruth’s spiciest books. Some scenes… wow. But beyond the physical, the emotional connection in every scene is what really hits. That mix of desire and anger transforming into love… just incredible.
And Tommy’s redemption arc… omg. Seeing him heal, turning his hate into love, his pain into calm—it’s spectacular. Tommy was never bad, he was just lost.
This book left me empty, happy, in love, and destroyed all at once. Ruth did it again. ✨ What an amazing story. ✨
Releases on October 19th—don’t miss it on Kindle Unlimited. Get ready to scream, cry, and fall in love with Tommy and Jenna.
While reading this book, I was on the elliptical. I usually go a quarter mile then take a break because I am outta shape. But this book right here distracted me so much (in a good way) that I blew past the .25 mark! That never happens. Usually, I'm working hard to get to it!
Tommy and Jenna are two very complicated people. He's a player who's never heard no, and she's looking for a HEA (but trying to have fun while doing it). He's a broken guy who is just fascinated with Jenna but handles it in very unhealthy ways. There were times I wanted to shake him!
Anyway, this one is just so complicated (in a good way). We know what Tommy needs and why he acts the way he does. The way he pushes Jenna away while trying to hold her tight but has no idea why... I loved the angsty mess. I relate to Tommy so much in the father department. Its damaging when they don't want you.
But I loved the slow burn aspect of it. And when things started rolling, man was it spicy. If I wasn't already red cheeked, I would have totally been blushing.
“I’ll never be able to stop coming back to you. We aren’t enemies, Hellion. We’re f***ing magnets.”
This book is seriously one of my top reads of 2025. (And honestly the entire Blade Kings series is fantastic!)
I already knew Tommy was going to be a new breed of MMC’s and dang, he was something else entirely. He is full of jagged edges and has a long list of defensive mechanisms to keep people from getting to close. He can be rude and abrasive but at his core, he’s just a sad boy that had his heart broken by betrayal. After his parents let him down, he made it his mission to destroy his father’s legacy and be the best enforcer in the league.
Getting to meet Alex’s son after seeing what he did to Zach in the Seattle Scorpions series had me all kinds of curious. He definitely had a tough guy exterior that resembled Alex but his heart was entirely his own.
“You’re fully under my skin, penetrating my bones.”
Jenna was a GEM of a FMC. She’s a powerhouse pro soccer player and someone that embraced her sexuality. After a long line of hookups the last person she should be attracted to is her enemy.
“Be a good boy for me now. And after that, I want you to take me back home and remind me just how bad you can be.”
The push and pull dynamic between Jenna & Tommy was EXPLOSIVE. Both of them give as good as them get and it will have to screaming at your kindle for them to open up. This isn’t an insta-love kind of story, these characters had to put in the work to win the other over and it made for such a special story. When you get to the end you’ll feel like you got to witness something truly special.
“You’re my Hellion and my angel. My torturer and my sanctuary. You pull the impossible from me—love. An admission of who I am. Peace.”
It was really fun and special to see some familiar faces from the Seattle Scorpions series and to get some great pep talks from Sawyer! 🥹✨💖
This isn’t the first book by Ruth that had me crying, but it is definitely my new favorite. I loved it from start to finish and I am so excited we are getting a bonus book in this series! I am never going to be ready to say goodbye to these characters.

“Oh, I wasn’t planning to woo you. I was planning to f*** you and then toss you to the side. Think of it as an itch I wanted to scratch. Or a brother I wanted to piss off.”
“All I’m saying is, I’ve spent some time with him away from the hockey rink and other people, and … he isn’t the person he makes himself out to be.”
“Godd**mit, Jenna. What the f*** are you doing to me?” “Helping you prove what you promised to me. You’re showing me the real you.” “And it feels so f***ing good, you feel so f***ing good.”
Jenna and Tommy’s book is absolutely fantastic! It had me in a chokehold from the very beginning and I couldn’t stop reading! The ultimate hate to lovers couple! Tommy is a beautiful broken boy who pushes everyone away, accept Jenna. And once he starts to really open up and show her the true Tommy, that’s when he wins Jenna’s heart. The amount of growth Tommy goes through in this book, wow! I went from hating his character to cheering for him by the end of the story and falling in love with him. You can feel the raw emotions with both characters and how they heal each other and grow together. A fantastic read, congratulations Ruth and thank you for giving us Tommy and Jenna!
Tropes: Pro Hockey MMC x Pro Soccer FMC Bad Boy x Reformed Playgirl Enemies to Lovers He Falls First Found Family
Now this book blew me away! I was not sure what to expect when I read all the snippets and teasers for this book but my goodness it was so much better than I could have ever imagined. Ruth has just got better and better and better with each book but I must say this is my favorite now.
Now this book is REAL enemies to lovers...Tommy and Jenna despise each other...but they both have very strong wills and they both need to get over personal issues and let those walls down to realise what thet have infornt of them.
Tommy is a real 'asswipe' and treats everyone like something he stepped in. Jenna is a strong willed woman really looking for that mr right but wont admit that and wants to have her career and not let anyone in. They both have real trust issues and throughout this book you have lots of twists and turns.
Overall without spoiling it and just telling you all of it this is all I can say just go read this book.
Thank you @authorruthstilling for another stunner of a book. I look forward to so many more.
2.5 💫 I thought this one was totally fine. I felt that the pacing was a touch off? End of the book felt a bit rushed. I really enjoy this series though! Also like who doesn’t love an enemies to lovers moment!!! Will continue to read the series hehe
Long live Tommy and Jenna! Christ on a cracker what a way to drop book 4 in the Blades Kings series Ruth! This book is going to have you screaming, swooning and giggling at the antics and shenanigans of this pair. Whilst the first part will see you visibly hating on Tommy but still want him to rip your clothes off.. The second part where you realise how swoon worthy and down bad he is? WELLLLLLL LET ME TELL YOU.. you will be squawking like a parakeet at the length and depth of this man’s feelings for Jenna. He falls HARD. And whilst he’s spent a long time trying to hit Jenna where it hurts about her age and being left on the shelf, the reality is he wants her desperately- he tries to tell her it’s just to get it out of their systems first.. but boy is he fooling himself with that nonsense! And Jenna, sweet Jenna can try as much as she likes to say Tommy isn’t her type but the truth is he gives her body and soul everything she needs and craves. She wants a man to throw her around in the bedroom and be gentle with her and claim her as his in public.. And does Tommy see her and understand that’s what she needs?? Hell yeh he does! Tommy going all in and telling Jenna exactly how he feels was perfection! But our girl Jenna makes him work for it, to prove to her he can be the type of man she needs.. it takes a bit of time for her to catch up and something monumental happens to cement those feelings for her but when she acknowledges that? Yep. Utterly joyful. 😀 I’ve cried, I’ve screeched, I’ve internally berated Tommy until his turning point for redemption and the fact he realises he needs to show Jenna his true self, not him as Tommy Schneider, him as Tommy Williams before he was jaded as hurt by the acts of his parents. The part of him, he’s hidden from public view, the part of him he buried so deep so he didn’t get hurt again. Jenna allows him the space to accept he needs to make changes and she brings out the better in him showing him he can be his complete self with her. But in return Jenna has to deal with allowing Tommy into her heart. It takes her time but she gets there!
And the spice? NEXT LEVEL hottttt!
And by god my heart was in my throat for the last 10% of the book- the actual anxiety I felt was radiating out of me as I read to the end. This book will have you flying around in a rollercoaster of emotions- in THE ABSOLUTE best way possible. INFINITY STARS because these two are everything from start to finish x
DEVOURED! That perfectly sums up my reading status for this book. It had everything I could ever want in a story: banter, hate f**king, tattoos, piercings, pranks, and finally, love and understanding. There’s just something so powerful about two damaged people finding each other, seeing the good, and helping one another heal.
Tommy grew up believing his dad had passed away, only to find out later that his father simply didn’t want to be part of his life. That rejection haunted him and pushed him to become the best on the ice, even if he didn’t care much about being the best person.
Jenna, on the other hand, has accepted that her happily ever after might not exist. It’s just not something she sees happening for her. She has no problem putting Tommy in his place and calling it like it is because he’s terrible, and she knows it. I absolutely loved this story, and if any of this sounds like your kind of read, you need to check it out!

If I could give this book 10 stars then I absolutely would. 💜
Full Tilt is the 4th book in the series by Ruth and I think it might my favourite yet. I’ve been waiting patiently for Tommy and Jenna’s story and Ruth gave me exactly what I needed and didn’t disappoint.
This time we follow Jenna, a professional soccer player, and Tommy, the “bad boy” hockey player we’ve loved to hate in previous books. It’s an enemies-to-lovers story with all the emotional twists you’d expect from Ruth. I won’t lie, I wanted to throw this book after the first chapter as Tommy was so mean to Jenna, but I knew that meant the redemption would be even better and it paid off. It was epic!
There’s a strong focus on found family, growth, and redemption. Tommy’s redemption story and shift from bad boy to reformed player — felt especially rewarding. I was in tears! I also loved seeing a younger man/older woman pairing done so well; it brought a different side to Tommy that felt mature and believable.
The story has its steamy moments (ding dong, indeed!) but balances that heat with genuine emotional depth. I loved the he “falls first” dynamic that totally worked for me. Simp Tommy is definitely for me 😉.
Ruth gave us the perfect blend of spice, heart, and redemption in this book and I really didn’t want it to end. I’m so please we get another book to continue the story
You ever go into a book advertised as “enemies to lovers” and as you read it, the enemies part is sort of vanilla, kinda “meh?”
YEAH, SO, THIS IS NOT THAT BOOK. 😉
Tommy and Jenna, our MCs, HAAATTTTEEE each other. They are mean as hell. They mock each other. They play pranks and try to humiliate each other.
And it’s glorious.
Every bit of their mutual disdain is perfectly executed, making the metamorphosis to “lovers” absolutely incredible!
You will experience all the emotions reading this one. Anger, frustration, shock…and then deep deep emotional connection to these wholly captivating characters. You’ll sweat at their chemistry, kick your feet at the spicy scenes and fall hard for all they become to each other.
This one is an absolute BANGER. And I just loved it. Oh, and being included in such a lovely way in the acknowledgements? Such a beautiful surprise.
Grateful to Ruth for having me take part in the beta process — and for her friendship. 🫶🏼
I did it. I finished tho the last 50 pages were a struggle. Overall the writing was good, but there were some parts not making full logical sense or not being crafted/executed strong enough. I would probably settle on 3.5 but because of the very last section of this review (see the quotes and the end) I stand by 2 stars. The level of toxicity was not needed. I finished and I still don’t understand why they hated each other this much at the beginning. The back and forth was boring after the second time. The whole redemption arc was lacking something for me. It goes from super toxic behavior (with assault-y vibes between main characters) to sth like enemies with benefits situation to them caring about each other for real and suddenly the whole team and her friends are instant friends with Tommy too. ~~~
Update: I DNFed at 30% but then picked it back up. At 62% I still stand by everything I wrote before. In a way I can see Tommy redeeming himself but I still can’t look past the clear disregarding the boundaries issues that occurred in the first 30%. Past this mark it wasn’t that intense tho yet again there were some lighter cases when Tommy held Jenna against her will plus here were two times when the up and down was ridiculous (“if you walk out that’s over” and next day he’s at her door; “if you don’t write back within an hour I’m *really* deleting your number” but yet again he shows up at her door)
The writing is good, and some scenes are 4 or even 5 stars worthy but it’s not working as a whole. The toxiticy and at least some of the behaviors (both Jenna’s and Tommy’s) were not necessary. Some characters’ actions are not reconciliation with their other actions. I’ve read some stalker romances or primal play romances that had way less concerning or red flag scenes. I have 100 pages left, I will probably finish it but I def won’t change my rating, it remains 2 stars no matter what happens over the last 30-40%. ~~~~~ DNF at 30%
The writing was good enough for me to keep going, but I just couldn’t anymore. This is not how you write this type of plot. I don’t see how over the next 200 pages Tommy could really redeem himself. There is an authors note warning you that these characters are toxic, but… there’s toxic and there’s toxic. I tried to see past the toxic actions, cause the author warns you, but with some of the things in the plot already not making sense and the clear assault (you can’t not call it that) scene, I was done.
I don’t fully understand why Jenna turning down Tommy was such a big deal in the first place and how their “war” grew to such big proportions. The bathroom scene made zero sense, with how Jenna reacted. Why was it such a big deal???? She should just leave and let it be, it made zero sense why she was so… frustrated? hurt? with the situation, she shouldn’t even care. The redemption arc is not well executed. Granted, I stopped at 30% but what I read was enough. You can’t assault a girl but in the next chapter prepare food for her and that be “all good, not the villain anymore”.
Couple of quotes that make this book romanticizing assault and are not how you write even toxic characters:
„Get off me!” I yell, but he pulls us both into a darkened side street. I momentarily break free before he recaptures my arm and pins me against a filthy brick wall. Every cell in my body thrums at his proximity, but not in the good way, like before in the Boston hotel. This time, I genuinely want him to leave me alone.”
„Jenna tries to push it shut, but I’m much stronger, even when she leans her entire weight against it. “Leave me the fuck alone,” she hisses through the narrow opening, trying to keep her voice low but vicious. “Not going to happen.”
„I catch her arms above her head, holding both her wrists in one hand and quickly flipping us around, pressing her back into the door. She fights and wriggles to break free, but unlike when I let her go last night, I’m not making the same mistake twice.”
This is supposed to be a romance book, so simply this is not how you execute the plot, even if you wanna throw in some toxic behaviors.
And the award for best bad boy goes to.... Tommy Schneider!
Ladies and gentlemen, I don't care who you think you are or what you tell me or yourself for that matter, we ALL love ourselves a bad boy. Mmhmm. Don't even deny it. We all think we can "tame" him, "change" him, make him love us most. Many have tried, few have succeeded. ... Let's all be honest with ourselves and each other on this. Just nod your head "yes", because we all know the truth - we've all tried... and probably failed. What's different here is that Jenna is the woman to succeed when it comes to Tommy Schneider and we all love her for it. Might we also envy and resent her for it because of our own failures, sure, maybe. But do we love and admire her more? 10000%!!
So we had left off in The Blade Kings series in book #3 where we learned that none other than Alex Schneider's son was being traded to the Blades - *gasp* I know, right? And for anyone who knows - for those of us who not only live in Ruth's world but absolutely devour it - we all know the a$$$$ that is Alex Schneider. We love you Zach!!! So that said, book #3 left us on a *gasp* moment with the Schneider offspring joining the team. We all thought, "There's no way - we won't like him - he's Alex's son, he's the bad guy - no way, no how." We all thought it. And we all thought that our favorite goalie, Jenna... just no! We've "watched" Jenna since Kendra's book - and we just couldn't imagine it. But as soon as chapter 1, page 1, paragraph 1, sentence 1, word 1 started... we were effing swooning!!! Don't even deny it. And if you are, you're lying to yourself and to me and to the world.
Tommy? Ohhhh, he's good. We hate him. We really do. But we love him more.
We despise his ashhh-holish ways, yet we feel sympathy and understanding for him. We find ourselves rooting for him. But we also yell at him. Like, dude! Wtf? ... Yes, I'm thinking of the "one scene" ... dude, I can't believe you did that!!! And here's Jenna, who we already like. We respect her and her openness with who she is, not ashamed or hiding anything. Her vulnerability is refreshing and her view on life despite her own life's challenges.
But when you put these two together... I'm like a fish on land - just gasping for words and choking on air.
Let's just stop right here because no one's words can describe or do justice to the words in "Full Tilt" much like they can't any of the books in this series. I'll leave you with this: how I felt about Tommy had me feeling like I was cheating on Archer and JJ... there, I said it. IYKYK.
OMG STOOPPPP IT RIGHT NOW!!! This series is one of my absolute top favorite hockey romance series and this book right here.. THIS BOOK RIGHT HERE!!! … IS THE BEST ONE HANDS DOWN!! I ate this book up !! The love to hate each other type relationship between Jenna and Tommy is top tier!! The fact that they both push each other away & run from each other out of fear makes for such great banter but also makes it sad. I felt the emotional pull between these two!! They pulled my freaking heart strings from the beginning SO HARD!! I truly felt their relationship throughout this whole book!! Don’t ask me how many times I cried for them because I lost count!!! The emotion put into these characters is so strong you can’t help but get so invested in each of them. Jenna being a playgirl was such a different vibe for most FMCS but it fit so well with Jenna’s personality!! Jenna puts on this strong girl “idc” act and what she truly wants is all the mushy gushy love that comes with a great relationship!! Her walls are built so high that she can’t even have a normal conversation without sarcasm or defense, that hurt my heart for her.
My heart broke for Tommy ; all of his walls and acting tough and heartbreak that he carried around with him since he was a kid… ugh my heart!! The fact that underneath all of that was such a caring, attentive man who just wanted to be chosen , loved and attention ?!?! SWOON !!
The SPICE WAS SPICING in this book the best spicy scenes out of the whole series IMO & the chemistry between Jenna and Tommy was HOT HOT HOT so it made for some great tension & banter🥵
The twist that came at the end broke me I cried like a baby !! But the HEA that came after had me kicking my feet !! I will definitely be reading this book again when it officially comes out. So so thankful to have been given this opportunity to read this ARC !!
I’m not going to say much about the story for two reasons. One, I don’t think I can come up with the words to do it justice. Two, I don’t want to give anything away. Tommy and Jenna’s story deserves and needs to be experienced in its entirety first hand.
Ruth has done something truly special with this book. It is a true enemy to lovers and the way she progressed their story was so perfect. Tommy and Jenna are two of the most complex characters I’ve ever read, especially Tommy. There were so many moments where I wanted to shake him out of frustration, while also wanting to hug him because I know why he is the way he is. Tommy and Jenna see the parts of each other that they hide from everyone else. The character growth, the hills and valleys, the countless bumps in the road, all lead to the most satisfying happily ever after.
In true Ruth storytelling fashion, we also get the best found family vibes. I love this group of people so much, especially the girl gang! This book had so many surprises, both good and bad, and Ruth had me in a chokehold from page one until the very end!
It would be hard for me to pick a favorite Ruth Stilling book, but this might just be at the top. Ruth pushed boundaries with this story and gave us things she had never done before! It gets ALL the stars and will be living rent-free in my head for a long time to come.
"Full Tilt" is a book of growth, redemption, healing, insane chemistry, truly jaw-dropping spice, and love that really did conquer all! It is messy and raw and so beautiful! I’m so proud of what this book became. You can tell she truly poured her heart and soul into this story and these characters.
Ruth, thank you so much for having me on your team! I am so proud and truly honored to be a part of your journey!

🏒⚽️💜 RUTH HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!! she gave us another fmc and mmc to fall in love with and has also written another beautifully well done story 😍 • now i know what your thinking (especially if you have read the other books in this series), we all hate tommy…i’m telling y’all right now, his redemption arc is SO FLIPPIN GOOD!!! there were so many times i wanted to slap some sense into him and be able to cuss him out but he has his moment and redeems himself. he had so much growth, but it took a hot minute for him to get there. OHHH and the tension and heat between jenna and tommy was crazyyy hot like dang so good 😮💨 • also loved how the other characters from this series played such a big role in tommy and jenna’s story. and i am SOOO EXCITED that ruth decided to add one more book to this series, can’t wait 😍 • what to expect: ⚽️ sports romance 😡 enemies to lovers 🏒 pro hockey mmc x pro soccer fmc 💋 bad boy x reformed play girl 😍 he falls first 👀 forbidden vibes ☠️ touch her & d!3 🫶🏽 found family 💜 no third act break up
A hockey romance that is perfect for anyone who loves a misunderstood grumpy MMC. The hate to love was done so perfectly, and had me in such a chokehold. 😮💨
“give me tonight and i’ll prove why you were right to let me stay.”
okay, so, where do i even start? this book was somehow everything i expected AND nothing i expected all at once. a bold statement but i have truthfully never read a book like this one, and in the best way possible. i LOVE a tattooed, misunderstood bad boy, and boy did tommy have it all, not to mention a feisty fmc that holds her own like jenna. safe to say that i feel this might be ruth’s best work yet.
if you like a good enemies-to-lovers, this one is for you.
If you are fan of the series, there’s no way you won’t love the character growth Ruth writes for Tommy in this one. He truly transforms from angry, bitter asshole into someone willing to work to be a better man for his team and for the girl he falls for. The enemies to lovers banter was great, as was the enemies to lovers spice. I appreciated the relationship between Jenna and her brother and how he was supportive of her no matter what. And I am excited for the tiniest of crumbs Ruth left for the next book in the series!
This book had me hooked from start to finish! There is just something about a good hockey romance that gets me every time, especially when it’s enemies to lovers. 😏
The spice, the tension, the hate s*x, Tommy Schneider 🥵, and Jenna’s ability to give everything Tommy was dishing out right back was fantastic!
The mouth on this man had me squealing and giggling. I love the growth throughout the book. The ending is perfect!
I highly recommend this book! 10/10 Read!
*I would like to say thank you to Ruth Stilling and Hambright PR for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion ❤️
