I read this a while ago and do not remember the exact names of characters. But the author does an impressive job with the work.
Her mother being the first wife bears no children. Her husband remarries to have children, most of whom he would regret having later. The dizzy angel is born later - an only child. She is intelligent and beloved by her father who would ask one of his boys to be like her. But the child has an unusual gift which her father would not comprehend and it gives the book its appeal.
As a child she is pushed into the river by a child - Moses(she always made fun of him) - and rescued by another - Peter.
It is interesting how both boys would later become rivals in love, to think that Moses once hated her.
This book portrays the African tradition, with its contention against Christianity. But it's sweetest when love triumphs above all and let's not forget about it's appreciation of the girl child and the twists and turns which make you never want to put down this book

I read this book when I was about 8 years old. I love the characters, especially Moses. Often, I think of this book and I feel nostalgic. I haven't been able to read this book again since that time because I'm unable to find it online. I wish to read this book again so I can reconnect with the characters, Moses and OG.
This book was the highlight of my childhood.

I first read this book when I was about 10. It stayed with me so much so that when I saw it with my neighbor's domestic staff, I borrowed it and read a second time. I was about 14 then.
Still, I didn't get enough of it. At a time when I read mostly western stories, it was the very first African story that I fell in love with.
In the last 10 years, I have searched for the book, wishing to own a copy of my own, but I couldn't.

Guess what? I finally found it in a library at Ariaria. I screamed that tears ran down my face. Don't think I was overreacting!

Even after all these years, when I restarted Dizzy Angel, it so hooked me that I stayed up all night reading it.

Thanks, Gracy Osifo 👏

Sentimental trash. I'd have thrown the book away after reading but since it wasn't mine I kept it for the owner. I get that the writer used this book to advocate for the girl-child education, but the book made little sense and another ridiculous part of the book was the advocacy of Christianity (once you pray God answers and your problems vanish, tell that to all the brokeass prayer warriors who are struggling). In conclusion this book is a waste of time and I think people who give it 5 stars aren't exposed to good literature

I read this book for the first time back in 2009, when I was in SS1 at a Federal Government College somewhere in Nigeria. It was one of the few novels available to us as arts students and I instantly fell in love with it. I was completely immersed in the characters and their journeys. It was such a beautiful coming of age Nigerian (and African) story, about love, ambition, chasing dreams, and so much more.

I remember feeling envious of the characters. Obanje, Peter, and Moses seemed to be having the most amazing experiences as secondary school students. Their lives were so full of adventure that I began to think my own boarding school was boring in comparison.

Years after graduation, I searched everywhere both online and in bookstores for a copy of the book, but I couldn’t find either the physical version or a soft copy. Then, just two weeks ago, I stumbled upon an online bookstore called sunshinebookseller.com, and to my surprise, they had the hard copy in stock. I was so excited it felt like I had won the lottery! I placed an order immediately, and it was delivered to me.

Honestly, I wish books like this would be republished. It’s heartbreaking to see such beautiful stories slowly go extinct.

It's been forever I read this book and I can say it's one of the books I never tire of reading.
It's both captivating and intriguing at the same time and I always dread knowing I'm getting to the last page

I read this novel for the first time when I was 8 years old. I fell in love with novel that I read it for the second time. My level of comprehension was not much at that time but I only read it only for the purpose of enjoyment. I'm about to work on a project on this book.

This is one of my favorite books while growing up as I had the hard copy at home, but I just can't seem to find it anymore which made me be on the lookout for the soft copy. I just love everything about the book, a very big thumps up to the author, you made my childhood.

This is very deceitful..if you didn’t have the book , then you could have simply stated so instead of luring people here for nothing… it’s been over 5 years still nothing has been done about making the book accessible to hundreds of readers who are interested . I’m disappointed
