You can't put a price on love, but she can.

Hot cocoa. Perfect presents. Made-for-TV movie marathons. To Holly Christopher, these are the key components of her ideal holiday season. Not on her wish list: losing her job, debt, and a huge expense looming in the near future. Enter the idea for Holly Dates, a companion-for-hire service that will supplement her rideshare income so she can move out of her parents’ house someday.

It’s a simple process: screen the client, go on the date, and fly under the radar of the IRS. But things get decidedly less simple when Nick Goodman hires Holly to play his made-up girlfriend, and one night turns into a weeks-long charade. They play the part of couple-in-love convincingly—to his family, to her family, and, maybe less ideally, to each other.

Even if Holly and Nick want to pursue something real, Holly’s very own personal Grinch threatens to steal her Christmas joy. Will she ever get the gift of love? Or will she end up spending the holidays home, alone?

Hands down Megan’s best book yet. It’s a new twist on corny Hallmark movies that left me screaming, squealing, and turning the pages begging for more.

Holly is up there as one of my favorite female main characters. She’s funny and real and has the best personality- she felt like someone I’ve known forever. The story line is something straight out of my favorite hallmark movie and it had me laughing and rooting for some fake dating to materialize into something more! Megan Becker has nailed it again! If you are looking for a cozy and fun holiday read, then give Holly Dates a try!!

I don’t know what @author.meganbecker is putting into her books, but I find myself devouring each one—after thoroughly enjoying the two she released this year, I clearly need to visit her backlist.

In HOLLY DATES, our main character, Holly, is trying to save up for her best friend’s destination wedding after losing her corporate job by driving a ride service and going on fake dates with guys who need a plus one for parties and family functions. But when she flubs a client date she was hired for to make a coworker jealous after running into her ex at her date’s holiday party, Holly becomes wrapped up in a snarl that’s harder to untangle than Christmas lights… and she realizes that maybe she doesn’t want to escape it.

The main characters in HOLLY DATES were so endearing—it was easy to see why they fell for each other. The writing style was funny and charming, with pop culture references and Christmas-y metaphors that put me in the mood for the holidays. This romance was exactly what I needed during a stressful week, and I can’t wait to read more of Megan Becker’s work.

I received a gifted copy of HOLLY DATES in exchange for an honest review.

Megan Becker does it again! I really love her characters, they are so relatable and yet also have this touch of whimsy. Holly is unashamedly loud and excited and “too much,” but honestly it’s what I loved about her. She isn’t afraid to say what she thinks and digs deep into the heart of the matter, no matter what it is. Nick is your typical shy guy who has a lot of feelings but doesn’t totally know how to get what he wants, and so the two of them fit together perfectly. And as per usual for Becker’s books, the families of the main characters are so real and loving and just make you want to be part of their world! There were some parts of the story that seemed a bit rushed or disjointed (like when the next chapter picks up several days after ending on a cliffhanger but takes a few pages to reveal what happened in retrospect), but the plot itself was fast-paced, so in a way I think it worked. I think this would be the perfect book to read leading up to the holidays, as it will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit!

I received an advanced review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
