Booga Snatcha: A Halloween Urban Legend

Every town has a legend. Ours steals boogers.

On Halloween night, whispers rise about Da Booga Snatcha, a strange woman who slips into homes to take what no one else would dare touch.

But legends don’t begin in darkness. Before she was Da Booga Snatcha, she was a mother facing loss, eviction, and humiliation. This novelette follows her path from desperation to an absurd obsession, revealing how tragedy gave birth to one of the strangest urban legends ever told.

Equal parts haunting backstory and bizarre Halloween myth, Booga Snatcha shows how far a person might go to be remembered.

Sleep Tight... Don't Let
Da Booga Snatcha Bite

BOOGA SNATCHA: An Urban Legend Horror
by Samyra Alexander

3.5 stars. On Halloween night, three young ladies enjoyed their tradition of eating homemade pizza and telling spooky stories around the fireplace...

Following the format of Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? and submitted for your approval, they told the story of...

Da Booga Snatcha...

A woman named Gabby got a DUI one night and consequently lost her two daughters as well as her job...

As time went by...

Gabby continued to spiral, eventually living in a tent on the street and drinking cheap wine until she passed out each night...

On one of her blackout nights...
She was visited by entity Mr. Booga Booga...

He was a grotesque giant dripping booger who commanded her to steal boogers and Halloween candy from random people...

Else he would haunt her forever...

Something inside Gabby snapped...

She decided to become an urban legend superhero calling herself Da Booga Snatcha, sneaking into homes and robbing people of their candy and boogers and, occasionally, their d*ck while they slept...

Sleep tight...
Don't let the handcuffs bite...

I had to give this creative story a 3.5 star rating because, back in the day, my son and I had the popcorn ready every Saturday night for Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark?. It was the highlight of our weekend, and this story took me back there to the fireside stories told by the children of The Midnight Society.

Jason who? Michael who? Candyman who?
Hide your candy, cover your nose!
From deep down in the crevices of the crazy mind of Samyra Alexander!
Beta reader, ARC reader, cover model (that’s me on the cover, co-signing her foolishness).
What started as a joke is now a new crazy, funny, silly as hell urban legend short story. If anybody can write a book about a booga snatcha, Samyra can, and that’s meant as a compliment. Lol.
I don’t know what else to tell you besides sit back, relax and enjoy this fun wild ride.

Buckle Up!

This book was absolutely wild—one moment, I was ready to hurl from the sheer grossness, and the next, I couldn’t stop laughing at the madness unfolding before my eyes! How does Samyra Alexander conjure up these wild imaginings? "Booga Snatcha: A Halloween Urban Legend" is an incredibly one-of-a-kind blend of gross and hilarious Halloween fun. One moment, my heart was breaking for Gabby, and the next, I was laughing out loud at her outrageous shenanigans. What a ride!

I got the chance to be a beta reader for this book. Thank you to the author for letting me read and review this book.

Y’all… this book had me laughing AND scared at the same time 😳😂. The Booga Snatcha is creepy, sad, and downright hilarious in the most unhinged way. I was side-eyeing my closet but still cracking up. 10/10 do NOT read in the dark 👀🤣

A weird, unsettling, yet strangely sad story of how a woman became the infamous Booga Snatcha. I was happy to be a beta reader for this Halloween satire. Yes, she’s snatching boogers, but there are a real life situations that most of us can relate to. It’s a quick, funny read.

Something is seriously wrong with Samyra Alexander. Da Booga Snatcha and Mr. Booga Booga had way too much going on. This story was wild and hilarious. I want more!!

I cried, I laughed, I checked my lock to make sure Da Booga Snatcha couldn't get in. Grab a handful of candy and get into this story of a woman getting her groove back after life has beaten her down.

I genuinely did not know what to expect going into Booga Snatcha by Samyra Alexander. Hell, I’m still not sure I’ve recovered.

This book had me jumping between pure disgust and uncontrollable laughter. It’s short, chaotic, outrageous, and completely unhinged in the best way. If you have a strong stomach and a twisted sense of humor, you’ll probably have a great time.

But let’s talk about the real MVP. The audiobook. The narration by J.R. Mason elevates everything. The timing, the absurdity, the shock. I cannot stress this enough. Please experience it in audio. It makes the ride even wilder.

I was an ARC reader for this book. I was really curius as to how The Legend of the Booga Snatcha would come into being. I was very much impressed, Samyra gave this tale a true origin story that was heartfelt, sad and filled with frustration for the MC. The evolution of the MC into a new Halloween Urban Legend is seamless and very much believable. That being said- this was a unexpectedly fun read, although a bit gross at times, it was still enjoyable.

I hope the Booga Snatcha will return next Halloween!

When I heard about Samyra Alexander's newest book, The Booger Snatcher - er, excuse me - The Booga Snatcha, I was like, Samyra has lost her mind. Then I got the chance to beta read and I gotta say, there's some meat in there - pun intended.

It's gross, it's crazy, it's outrageous, and what the he11 it's Halloween season so read something wild. It's coming soon and you won't be able to stop it. So just go with the flow and enjoy it anyway but watch, it just might touch your heart, just a little bit!

This is a good book for Halloween, and I liked the storyline. When I first began reading the book, and I heard the name Booga Snatcha, I laughed because who would think of a person being a Booga Snatcha villain on Halloween? The title and the story were very unique; I would have never thought of that. It starts off with friends having a gathering dressed up in costumes to tell stories. But when the story began, it seemed normal, but then it got strange. There are several main characters in the book. Amina, Liza, Steph, Gabby, Ruby, Dana, and the girls' father are the ones that you will become familiar with when reading. I really enjoyed it and could not put it down. I was reading it between breaks at work, that's how good I think it is. So, read the book and see how all the characters play a part and find out who the Booga Snatcha is.

A wild story indeed! 😂 A social worker turned “Booga Snatcher” with the kids helping her out?? That’s next-level urban legend meets hood horror comedy!

Let me just break this down real quick:
• She was a social worker — so supposed to protect kids.
• Then she turned Booga Snatcher — like… Halloween monster status?!
• And the kids were in on it?? A plot twist for real.
And yes — when they say “there’s a first time for everything,” clearly they meant first time the kids helped snatch their own boogas. 💀lol “You thought you were getting services — surprise, it’s snatching time lol Thank you @Samyra for choosing me to be a arc. If you need a short story to read I suggest this one 😂😂😂😂 and don’t forget to call her “The Booga Snatcher”

Listen! Y’all better lock your doors, close your windows, hide your Halloween candy, and clean your nose! Cause Da Booga Snatcha is on the loose, and she’s coming for dat ooey gooey😂

Playing out like a quirky, urban Goosebumps episode, this quick read is cute, clever, and full of imagination. It’s got the perfect blend of suspense, silly, and unpredictable fun that keeps you turning the pages.

If you’re looking for something lighthearted, lol funny, and ridiculously entertaining… The urban legend of Da Booga Snatcha is what you want!
But don’t just take my word for it… Go 1-Click and see what all the hype is about! I’m excited to see what kinda “snatcha” Samyra Alexander cooks up next😂

there’s a first for everything lol

Gabby, a social worker, finds her life spiraling as she struggles to protect her two daughters. What unfolds is disturbing, messy, and downright impossible to look away from. I caught myself cringing and laughing out loud… seriously, what in the world was happening?! And then the twist hit... and I was in disbelief and legit laughed out loud! There’s themes of poverty, addiction, and despair layered throughout which packed a punch making this story raw and real, despite the boogas. At some point, we all get sick and tired. This story… hmm, it takes that to a whole new level. Go in with an open mind & maybe leave the lights on .

What did I just read?

Swear only Samyra could come up with something so outrageous. When I first saw on social media she was playing around with a cover for this, I was like, this cannot possibly be real. And then boom, there was a book. Frankly, I'm worried about this author because what is more horrifying than someone breaking into your home and putting their fingers into your nose... and liking it 👀 if you're looking for something a little outlandish and fun for the Halloween season, this would be that.

I wasn’t prepared for what I heard. Stunned is the perfect word. I started off feeling sorry for the main character in the “urban legend” being told, but as the story progressed, all I could think was “wow”. Not really the word(s) I would love to use, but I’m trying to keep my review PG. There were funny parts, sad parts, and parts that made me want to stop and ask what the author was going through when she wrote this. J.R. Mason did an amazing job narrating the audiobook. Phew! I guess we have a new urban legend to tell the upcoming generations.

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

I am not even sure what there is to say outside the obvious which is this a story about someone snatching boogers.

As an adult should it bring forth shame that I entertained myself for close to 50 pages of complete and absolute disgusting encounters involving the nasal region.

It definitely falls in line with the raunchy side of horror and depicts some severe stomach churning moments that makes for spooky season fun.

😳

First of all, WTF did I just read? Because, baby, this story tore my nerves up. Once I began to hear this certain word a lot of times, I knew the author was CRAZYYYYYY🤣. It's giving SUPER HERO vibes, and I don't like that.🤭😂🤣 You're definitely going to have an OPEN MIND and a CLEAR HEART when reading this. I highly recommend these 42 pages of foolishness! You're definitely going to be laughing. Samyra is my girl, though.

Omggg reading this was one thing but listening to the audio was.. Oh man it took it to a whole new level! The narrator JR Mason how did you get through this??? I hollered the entire time. It felt like I was listening to a production. This was a very intriguing read and kept me engaged throughout the entire book! I question myself everytime I read one of these from Samyra! Baybay! The way I laughed all through this book! The storyline in itself was
gravitational. The build-up, the legend, the spiral. The nastiness with the boogas
had me cackling and having my folks looking at me crazy. That one little booger made me wanna pluck some eye
lashes out, but I loved every bit of this short story. Extremely entertaining and
engaging.

Samyra is a new to me author. I enjoyed her style of writing however this story was not the type of story that I am used to reading. Gabby is a single mom of two and seems that all odds are against her. However, like most single moms she found a way to make things work.
