What an honor it was to be able to receive a copy of another great read by @shafran.diana! Thank you so so much! I enjoyed Alice in Liar's Land so naturally i knew I'd enjoy this one! * Lightly based off the show Charmed (one of my absolute favorite shows) three sisters move into their grandmother's house and must solve her riddles, with the help of charming fairy neighbors, in order to save Zelenodar. Magical inheritance and soulmate bonds are a few of the tropes in this magical read that make this read even more enjoyable. • The ending was not what i was expecting but it was well worth it for the plot. I wish wish wish Yuta & Victor nothing but happiness and can't help but think this is what having sisters is like. One wild & reckless, the other stubborn and feisty. * This was such a perfect and cozy read for October. It was fantasy and romance, thriller and engaging all in one. Fairies and magic, love and forbidden relationships are everything that I want in a read and this one definitely delivered!

Do you love the show Charmed? Do you love reading about found family and magic? Well, I have the book for you introducing Tears of the Divni! 💐 This was such a great, fun, and easy read and highly enjoyable. Yuta, Lada, and Melanka inherent a strange but enchanting house in the middle of a hazy village of Zelebodar. Where the three sisters worked hard to solve the riddled tasks their grandmother left them for them to be able to gain their inheritance! This is a must-read such a charming book that explores and celebrates Ukrainian folklore. @shafran.diana has done it again. This is the second arc read I've done for her, and she surprises me each time with the epic tale she writes. There are so many twists and turns through this fast-paced book as the epic fantasy story unfolds. OMG the romantic tension between Lada and a misty stranger, don't get me started just perfect, like always! Perfection! 5/5 Stars
This was a whimsical adventure across a haunting and mysterious world, following three sisters - Yuta, Lada and Melanka. The sisters are left with a riddled task from their grandma, and have 3 months to understand its cryptic meaning to gain their inheritance. It explores Ukrainian folklore and ancient beings, and the emotional journey the sisters go on individually and as a sisterhood. I enjoyed the sisters bonds of magic and destiny, and the eerie fairytale setting they find themselves navigating. The story is filled with dangerous curiosity, captivating strangers, and layers of deception and lies. It was easy to get invested in each sister's journey of growth and understanding, and see their flaws and strengths, and willingness to fight for each other. It's dark and enchanting, and will leave you curious for more.
If Charmed had been set in a misty Ukrainian village full of secrets, ✨enchanted houses, mysterious fairies, and three fiercely loyal sisters, ✨this book would be it. Tears of the Divni was a whirlwind from start to finish — fast-paced, emotional, and utterly magical.
When Yuta, Lada, and Melanka unexpectedly inherited a strange house in the fog-shrouded village of Zelenodar, I knew I was in for something special. The story unfolded like a spell — with enchanted objects, haunting whispers, and irresistible fairies who could save or destroy them. Each sister had her own voice and purpose: Yuta, the protective eldest who carried the weight of being the “parent”; Lada, the dreamer drawn into a dangerous night encounter with a mysterious stranger; and Melanka, whose innocent curiosity pulled her into a web of old tales and dark intentions. 🪄💔
There was so much happening — in the best possible way. So many secrets, betrayals, and shifting loyalties that I couldn’t stop flipping pages. 📖 I didn’t always understand how the sisters trusted some people so easily (I was internally screaming don’t do it! 😭), but that tension made the story so addictive. Every twist added a new layer, and every trial they faced revealed more about their pain, resilience, and love for each other.
The author wove their personal trauma and growth beautifully into the fantasy. The way Yuta’s burden as the eldest molded her character was heartbreaking yet powerful. 💔 And Lada’s romantic tension with the fog-shrouded stranger? That had me kicking my feet and whispering “just one more chapter.” 🩶
What made this book extra special was how it blended Ukrainian folklore with a modern magical vibe. I had not read much about Ukrainian myth before, so diving into this world of Divni fairies, ancient houses, and village legends felt like discovering a whole new realm of fantasy. 🌙🧚♀️ It was both whimsical and eerie — like stepping into a fairy tale where beauty and danger coexist.
Yes, the pacing was fast and sometimes the POV or scene changes happened without warning, but honestly? It somehow worked. It added to the chaos and urgency of the sisters’ world — as if the fog itself was pulling us along.
And that ending… OH that ending. 😭 It left me desperate for more — I need to know what happens next! Please, please let there be a sequel.
🌿 Perfect for fans of: ✨ Charmed-style sisterhood magic ✨ Ukrainian folklore & fairytale vibes ✨ Found family & emotional trauma healing ✨ Mysterious villages shrouded in fog ✨ “Trust no one” & morally grey characters ✨ Touch of forbidden love 💞 ✨ Fast-paced, atmospheric fantasy
💌 Thank you so much to Diana Shafran for the ARC opportunity! I’m so grateful to have experienced this enchanting and emotional story early. 💫 I was hooked from the first page and couldn’t put it down — truly a magical, heart-tugging read.
Thank you deeply to the author for sharing a copy of this book with me !!!
“It felt … strange. Like they’d all known each other forever. And for a split second, she wasn’t sure whether that was comforting … or terrifying”
Wonderful fantasy story. Wow. It surprised me in the best possible way. It was grilling. It was enchanting. It was Narnia but for three sisters who inherit their grandmother’s property and all the mysteries and powers that are there. All the while meeting some strange people who will accompany them on their journey into a Ukrainian folklore driven world of magical ancient beings who are there to protect them or destroy them. The three sisters were wonderful. It has been a long time since I’ve read a fantasy book with three sisters are the main characters and I enjoyed it this much. It was incredible !!! I truly had a great time. And the people they meet on the way … even better. This book has a found family vibe that I was looking forward to and I deeply appreciate. And the magical world was so unique and incredibly beautiful that I couldn’t help but fall head over heels in love with it !!! So so happy I had the amazing opportunity to read this !!
“Where midnights meets noon, and Dawn kisses dusk, the secret of the key will be revealed”
“She didn’t believe in magic. She believed in possibilities. And she wasn’t about to miss this one”
Tears of the Divni is a beautiful romantasy inspired by Ukrainian folklore and fairies, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to read an arc copy of it.✨
I love the three sisters, Yuta, Lada, and Melanka, and their own individual character growth that happened throughout the book.🥹 The mystery was so gooood! It kept me on the edge of my seat and I really enjoyed how Diana Shafran wrote and brought together the fantasy, romance, and mystery elements. This is such a unique fantasy book with the most magical descriptions.🧚🏻♀️
The stranger who captivated Lana really intrigued me and I really liked him, but Victor was my favourite.🤭 I absolutely loved Victor. He was so mysterious in the beginning but as he pursues Yuta and they get closer together, more of who he is gets revealed to us, and that made me love him even more.❤️
I could never guess the riddle Yuta, Lada, and Melanka’s grandmother left them for their inheritance, and as they uncovered it, it was like finding a new puzzle piece and trying to see where it all fit in. I love that the plot wasn’t predictable and just made me want to keep on reading until the final pieces came together.🤭
🧚🏻♀️I definitely recommend this book if you love: ~Fantasy ~Family secrets ~Cottage core vibes ~Sisterhood ~Multiple povs ~Dark secrets
I was very lucky to receive this ARC from the author. I have read one of her books before and I loved it! This one though, j was definitely hooked from thr beginning and powered through the whole thing.
The idea of mixing Ukrainian folklore and the premise of the show Charmed sold me immediately. I have never looked into or read Ukrainian folklore so this story was just an interesting dive into learning about it. The story was a little fast and there are characters changes that happen a lot throughout the story without warning, but it worked for this one. I hope there will be another one because I NEED to know what happens next!
I absolutely loved this book. It instantly gave me Charmed vibes (I mean the old witchy tv series) — three sisters bound by blood, magic, and destiny — yet it felt fresh, unique, and emotionally deep, having its own unique character and twist. Each sister has her own voice and struggles, but together they form an unbreaking bond that helps them do the impossible.
I loved the atmosphere: fog-soaked mornings, creaking wooden houses, and a village that feels alive with secrets. I could almost smell the rain and hear the whispers of the forest. Diana Shafran’s writing has this dreamlike, fairy-tale quality, but she never loses the tension or the danger simmering beneath the surface.
What surprised me most was the yearning that threads through the story... unspoken feelings, impossible choices, and that bittersweet pull between duty and desire. It’s not just romantic yearning either; it’s emotional on every level, the kind that comes from wanting to belong, to understand, to break free. I found myself completely invested in the characters’ fates, turning pages long past midnight. I really liked all the couples and their chemistry, as well.
If I had one tiny complaint, it’s that I wish there were more. I would love a sequel or even a short story to see what happens next, especially after this specific ending. I wouldn't say it's a cliffhanger but it's somewhat open, so I need...NEED... to know what happens to this world and the characters from now on. One thing is for certain, the world of Zelenodar still lingers in my mind, full of fog, magic, and the Divni’s tears.
If you love folklore-inspired fantasy, strong sister dynamics, and a world that feels both familiar and otherworldly, Tears of the Divni is for you.
This book is heavily inspired by Ukrainian folklore, and, especially with the current war going on, it's essential to preserve Ukrainian culture and folktales. This book was also a breath of fresh air, since it introduced many characters and types of mythological creatures I'd never heard of. The story follows three tight knit sisters: Yuta, Lada and Melanka. Despite their differences, they have a very strong bond that helps them as they face adventures full of secrets, betrayals, enticing faeries and magical trials. Yuta is the eldest, most protective sister. Her journey reflects this: how she fiercely wishes to keep her sisters safe, but also how sometimes all she needs is a break for herself. Lada is essentially a dreamer, she always hopes for the best and wants adventure. She gets entangled with a mysterious stranger she meets one night and their intriguing relationship is quite thrilling to read! Melanka is the most innocent of all. She's trusting and well-intentioned, which makes her get pulled into a magical world of folk tales she couldn't have imagined. I really loved how the 3 sisters shone in the novel. With their different characteristics and roles, they still mantain a strong bond and take care of each other, while going on a magical adventure in a dangerous world. The plot is full of twists, secrets and magic. It can be quite fast-paced, but I personally think it works.
It's first time reading a fantasy book with Ukrainian mythological creatures and i love it! The story is so good, the author knows how to keep your attention because in every page something big is happening. It didn't let me breath 5 seconds!
First time hearing about divni and all those fae (you get a big list at the beginning describing every folklore creature) and i hope Diana will write more books like this one. From the first page i knew i will enjoy the story, the characters were amazing and i loved how different were the sisters from each others, Melanka being my favourite.
Tears of the Divni is a must read for every fantasy fan! I am so happy i had the opportunity to read it. Thank you @shafran.diana for the opportunity ❤️.
✦ 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬 - • sisterhood • found family • hidden magic • dark secrets • cottage-core fantasy
✦ 𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - Tears of the Divni is a hauntingly beautiful fantasy about three sisters Yuta, Lada and Melanka—who inherit an old enchanted house in a fog-covered Ukrainian village. What begins as a simple inheritance turns into a dangerous journey filled with secrets, fairies, and a magic that feels both breathtaking and terrifying. This story gave me pure whimsical chills. The setting felt alive, like the mist itself was whispering secrets. I loved how every sister had her own strength and flaws, and how their bond stayed strong even when the world around them crumbled. The writing felt poetic and dreamy, the kind that wraps around your heart and refuses to let go. It’s dark, mysterious, and absolutely enchanting. A story about love, loss, and the power of sisterhood that shines even through the deepest shadows. I couldn’t put it down and I’m still lost in its world. Thank you so much author for the free ARC!
This book was really cool with it's Ukrainian folklore! I felt like not only was I getting to watching a story play out, but I was learning a lot about a Ukrainian folklore culture that I had not been previously exposed to.
This book would be great for someone looking for a fun but complex read full of riddles and trying to figure out what could happen next.
Add in the fact that how this book ended totally keeps the reader on the hook for more, I thought was such a great way to work in the cliffhanger.
I am seriously in awe after finishing this book. One of the best fantasies I have read this year.🪄 Zelenodar is giving peak mystical forest vibes—I'd book a trip, but like, only after Morok finally takes his permanent disappearing act. IYKYK. 🫣 The detailing, setting, and plot were seriously mind-blowing🧝♀️
I love the sisterhood : the way they were there for each other 🥹 and specially Malenka, her positivity and enjoying the journey is exactly the energy we need right now.
If you need a new obsession, bet. Add this to your TBR immediately. This book lives rent-free in my head now
A delightful introduction to the folklore of the Ukraine
In short, I loved the book and my first encounter with the rich myths & legendary creatures of Diana's homeland and yes, I'd like to read more about Yuta, Lada, and Melanka (plus all of the others in & around the village)!
Here's hoping you keep safe and that wonderful spirit continues to come across in future books, despite the dangers & fears being caused by the human monsters surrounding your country.
(I was fortunate to receive an ARC however the above is, as ever, my own opinion.)
