Rate this book
Some holiday magic can't be faked.

Adrian has his life perfectly mapped out—successful architecture career, meticulously planned schedule, and absolutely no time for dating. Which is exactly why his meddling best friend decides to take matters into her own hands this holiday season with the Tinsel & Tingles app.

Enter confident, charming, and completely wrong for Adrian's carefully controlled world. Or so Adrian thinks, until one arrangement leads to unexpected moments that feel far too real.

Between stolen glances and conversations that go deeper than either expected, Adrian starts to wonder if maybe—just maybe—the biggest risk isn't letting someone in. It's letting this chance slip away.

This Christmas, the best gifts are the ones you never saw coming.

A standalone M/M holiday romance with open-door heat, festive charm, and a guaranteed HEA. Book 1 in the Tinsel & Tingles series—where a cheeky dating app creates the perfect holiday matches.

So, i'm going to start this off by saying that I don't know enough to be able to spot a cover and immediately say it's AI, but I know enough to be suspicious of how they look. Unfortunately I don't pay much attention to the cover, I just mainly go straight to the blurb &/or reviews after I type in the title in the search bar, I wouldn't intentionally add a book with an AI cover to my list because if they're using AI for their cover who's to say they're not using AI for their book?

Annnnd that's what this book has, a shitload of AI in it.

I watched a YT video on a guy using AI to help him prove to the world that he was the smartest baby born in 1996. The video really showcased how easy it would be for a vulnerable person to fall into AI psychosis. The lingo that the AI used in that video was ALL OVER THIS BOOK.

I had a weird feeling about the writing but it finally clicked at 25% so that's where i'm calling it.

Reclusive architect gets matched by best friend for happiness

A captivating narrative depicts architect Adrian's decision to forego Christmas festivities and social gatherings, primarily due to his discomfort with small talk and social engagement. His closest friend, recognizing his solitude, endeavors to address this with the Tinsel and Tingles application, which connects Adrian with an event planner who impresses Adrian through his personality and charisma.

Dash is portrayed as a self-assured, socially active individual with a compelling presence that captivates Adrian upon their initial encounter. They consent to a fictitious date to satisfy Adrian's friend, who served as the event planner for the architectural firm's annual Christmas celebration—an event Adrian has deliberately avoided for years.

The outcome proves astonishing; Adrian begins to embrace social interaction, dances with Dash, and exhibits affection in the presence of colleagues. The immediate mutual attraction between the two forms the foundation of a compelling story, rich in detail and emotionally uplifting, centered on their happiness.

Author Bree Hollis offers insights into the differing perspectives of the two men, which become increasingly unified as their connection progresses. Her writing imparts considerable depth to the narrative and their interactions. Notably, their relationship deepens through candid exchanges about other friends and, in Adrian's case, by inviting Dash to his parents' residence for Christmas dinner—a place he has historically avoided due to a lack of companionship—and by opting to remain home with client files rather than socialize.

This story undoubtedly concludes with a happy ending (HEA). As the inaugural installment in a series focusing on the dating application, the story piques expectations for further explorations of this enchanting world.

This was a short quick read that I liked. Adrian has his life perfectly mapped out he is a successful architecture who is a workaholic. His friend sees that he is lonely and takes matters into her own hands and hooks him up with and app that links him to Dash. I like both of these characters Dash confident, charming. They agree to a fake date to make Adrian's friend, who was the event planner for the firm's annual Christmas party an event Adrian has avoided for years happy. This was a pretty good read that I liked. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more books

2.5⭐️ rounded up– overall this was a perfectly fine, sweet, cute christmas romance, but the themes were laid on thiiiickk and something about the writing just rubbed me the wrong way. Some other comments were speculating about AI use and I don’t know enough to say if I think that’s true or not, but there definitely were some phrases that were used repetitively in a way that felt a bit weird, and there was a lot of telling rather than showing

Almost 4 stars

Outside of the pushy female best friend that so many MM writers are fond of, and in spite of the repetitive phrases and sentences this writer is so fond of, it’s a good read.
