"There is only one codicil to my living; that I die having honored my familia." -Alfonzo
The 27th is a date dreaded by a Mafia Kingpin. Alfonzo has a date with a board of ruthless criminals to determine his fate for unknowingly breaking a blood contract. Not being born isn't grounds for nullification. Being detained by a psychopath clamoring for revenge isn't a reasonable defense. An appearance is mandatory, nonappearance serves as grounds for a death sentence. Can a son of a Don sway the verdict or a Mafia Queen renegotiate the terms of an ancient agreement or will standing in for a Kingpin be considered deadly contempt?
Read the gripping Alfonzo saga, considered a 'gem', an 'underground hit' and a original story with a 'pulse' on 'world events'.
S. W. Frank resides in New York. Art, poetry, music and writing were always quiet joys. A former NYC emergency medical worker and contributing writer for her law school journal, the author decided to pursue the obsession of storytelling full-time. Since then she dusted off manuscripts and decided to share stories with the public.
The Guardian, 2013 article, 'The Gems of Indie Publishing' readers' have stated, "[S.W. Frank] is bold and unapologetic in her delivery."
The Alfonzo series, voted on Goodreads as 1 of the Best Mob and Multicultural/Interracial Romance's for 2012.
The author states, "I write stories with multicultural characters that are desirable, smart and intriguing. They're stories of interesting people that I wanted to read and my small contribution to literary world to include diversity."
I loved Amoroso! I'm a diehard fan of Alfonzo, Nico, and Giuseppe, so I always enjoy the drama going on between these three. What I loved most about Amoroso was that you were able to see the maturing of all of the characters in the series. Selange really stepped up and proved she's a true mafia queen. I think all of the women in the series showed that they are more than just stylishly dressed pretty faces. You also get to see how the kids are changing and growing into their own. We maybe looking at the next generation of enforcers and mafia kingpins. I really enjoyed spending time with the Giacanti's again, and hope this is not our last get together.
So we meet Lorenzo and Chocolate (Diane). I like this couple I think they are cool and after a mis-step they open up about who they really are and who their family really are. Plus Lorenzo was a hero in this book.
Nicole finds out what really happened about her Tiffany and Tony.
Maria comes down out of her sanctimonious tree. Especially when we saw that Bruno was a total brute. She got a rude awaking and I for one did not feel sorry for her after the way she treated her own son without giving him a chance to explain.
Nico finds out he has another son....... how children is this man going to have that are not Ari's children. Wow who knew that Lucia had it in her. Sergio's wife showed she had some grit.
Wow, one of the best Alfonzo books in a long time. It kind of felt like the end, but this one was so good I hope the series continues on. I think there is more story to tell.
Really LOVED this one....now I don't want it to end.....with the new info in this book makes you want to know more and it seems there's still a lot more to tell.....
This is the absolute best of all of the Alfonzo's series. It was full of action, intrigue, drama, deceit, fully developed characters but most of all Love. Yes, sex was a real part just as it is in life.
This is a hard book to review without Spoilers, which would be a grave disservice to this book. Just know that practically every question is answered. Every member of the Giacanti/Diaz family would put their lives on the line for each other, and some did. I've finally forgiven Selange and Nico. They more than made up for any sins they committed. Sophia is strictly about family and will do and has done whatever necessary for her family. Even Yosef was likable, proving that even the worst of men still have heart and are honorable. Ari, meh - Nico's kids will make her crazy. Maria finally learned to release religiosity and hypocrisy and love people unconditionall. Sergio grew up really fast. Lucia was stronger than anyone would have expected. Amelda, still treacherous and vain but loved her family. New family member, Lorenzo, was one of the best and a man of his word. Vincent, even though he was dead, brought healing to Nico. Alfonzo, what can you say about him that would be enough. Just as he would kill or did for his family, they would also do the same for him. The older kids came into their own. Young adults like them give the family so much promise for the future.
The evil ones in the book got just what they deserved. Some you didn't realize was evil until the very end. I had one complaint with the book - no Shanda! This is the one you must read.
this book shows how the family bands together Ari and Selange Sophia and Maria new family members Nico finding out he has yet another child the part when the guy has Al Nico and Lucia and Geo back from his sister in law funeral Selange just left Ari Sal is tracking her Geo and him and the dog takes after her Sal says to his uncle maybe we should tell Ari I’m with you Geo no he tired of answering to women he’s done with Nicole😂😂😂
You just can't get use to characters. I wondered about Bruno, Hmph! Poor Anna, just can't catch a break. Hose twins are something else. I think Sal is going o be just like his Dad. This book has so many twist, tons and my stomach is achy over all the suspense. Love it!
Hold onto your heart. In the latest addition of Alfonzo and Selange’s wild ride, I was held spellbound and breathless until the very end. Love, love this series.
What can I say? I completely enjoy this series. Love and hate all the characters and no one is really innocent. I love that the women are just as fierce as the men.
It has been a while since Alfonzo and I have sat down together. I wasn't too please with what I read before the Serano Brothers came out. And I am still salty about Shanda. Yes. I. Am. This weekended, I had a small marathon of S.W. Frank. After reading about Nico and Vincent. I jumped back in with the family and how Nico and Vincent's past action, put a large stamp on the current actions of the family. I have stated this many times when it comes to Ms. Frank's writing. It is very poetic in nature and what should sometimes be a simple explanation of an action or a paragraph becomes a bit too much and I have to end up re reading or just give myself and explanation on what something meant.
This book had the poetic scripture but it wasn't as heavy as past books. There were somethings that were pretty straightforward. Her action scene writing has definitely gotten better. I was a little disappointed that Tony/Tiffany situation wasn't dealt with better. I believe Nico should have dealt with some sort of punishment. Whether if that punishment was emotional or physical, I believe there should have been some sort of responsible reaction from Nico. Geo, who happens to be my favorite male character, wasn't in this one as much. There are new characters that you're introduced to in this book, that carry over from the Serano Brothers book, like Lorenzo. Sergio gets a little more definition in this book. I would like a little bit more with him. Selange, who has been a nuisance to me, since the beginning, for the 2nd time in a row, has been ok in this book. There was a rumor going around that this was the last book but to be honest the way it was written, didn't seem like the end. I will say the time and spacing between stories has a bit of an issue.
I know that Ms. Frank did say her daughter will be writing about the younger generation. So I am wondering if the next book is the last book? I like this book overall. Lorenzo seems like he will turn out to be an interesting character. Seems like he has a thing for prostitutes, especially for one name chocolate. Until the next book...
...It is our life's essence, it is Amoroso. It is what sustained both Nico and Alfonzo in their ordeal. It made them fight to live to be with their spouses and loved ones again. It is what gave Selange the courage to fight for Alfonzo in his absence and Lorenzo his revenge for family and loved ones.
Nico got a lesson in what it feels like to be on the other side of his craft. And as fate would have it, gained another son and so did his late brother Vincent. I hated the fact that Nico had to off both Tony and Tiffany. Geo was really upset with Nico for that as he should have been. They were trying so hard to get their lives on track.
Maria also got a lesson in what it feels like to have to cause someone you love their demise. She learned that she was no better than her son which made them more alike that she realized before. I was totally shocked by Bruno's behavior. I would not have thought he would have acted the way he did. He seemed like such an upstanding man. He really loss his mind on the death of his daughter Bianca and her new husband and his son.
Ari's duplicitous nature had caught up with her and gained the wrath of Selange for trying to pull her into one of her schemes, which in the end saved the life of Alfonzo for the demand of a contract signed decades prior.
In this book Nicolo Giacanti's memoires continue to give Selange an insight to the family history in which they learned why he left the family life and what kind of woman his mother Semira was. This series continues to be well written with twists in the plot that I was not expecting that makes the story interesting to read. It held my attention from beginning to end with lots of drama and mystery.
Alfonzo is the mafia series by which all others should be compared! Each installment gets better and better, and I've come to the realization that you're either going to love this series, or you'll hate it. I am on #teamloveit! SW Frank has a unique writing style that draws you in. You're so caught up in the drama that before you k of, the story has ended. The dialogue is always witty and refreshing, and at times, downright damn hilarious. There is never a dull moment with the Giacanti clan. There are always new alliances, severed relationships, egregious acts of treason, and of course, sweet, hot romance.
This installment focuses more on Alfonzo and Nico. I missed not having Geo around as much, but he's still all up in his feelings following his sister-in-law's murder at the hands of his Bain... Get over it dude. You know the code. Geo always did think he was exempt, but Al is always there to check him.
I swear there are children popping up out of the woodwork in this one. Plot twists are abound, and new characters are introduced. I love Ari, but I'm glad she finally got her ass checked because she thinks she is on Selange's level, but that ass gone learn the hard way.
I never want this series to end. It's sooo good. This would make one damn good cable series - HBO level, not TNT...
This was another great read in the Alfonso series. Finally secrets are being revealed but not all. Nico learns of secrets his twin (Vincenzo) took to his grave. In this installation a few people lose their lives. One justifiably so the others not so much but the fall victim to the circumstances of their lives. Bruno is finally letting his true self shine through. Maria has to make a choice that does not fall in line with her Rosary toting self. A new character is introduced and we are re-introduced to the child Vincent let go of at the age of 13. The little boy (Maher) that survives the fire Nico set in Russia where he cut off the thumb of an enemy comes back with a vengeance. Nico, Alfonzo and Lucia are in trouble and it's up other family members to come together and save their Don and the head Protezione.
Good read even with less action. You get answers to some of the questions, not details/whys but you get enough to keep you pushing the pages. Still not sure what Semira had in mind with the agreement or who she made it with though. Read like they were supposed to protect the generations of her off spring in exchange for access without questions. If that’s so where the heck have they been with all the drama going on all this time. The stuff about Alfonzo not being the rightful heir seems like a side note seeing that he’s the younger brother anyway. Kind of like how Marie had to face reality and get her head out the clouds, the holier than thou mess was getting out of hand. Hopefully there’ll be another to wrap everything up and show the outcome of the truth coming out.
Alfonzo is the alpha capo....he lives another day...with all his knights and loyal family members...not to mention the queen Selange..always there by his side...guiding he king..protecting her offsprings.....and that brings us to Nico....perhaps the most important off all the characters....his loyalty to Al knows no bounds....his cheating heart has lead him astray several times...but he's fighting those demons and staying true to Ari...I am so glad you can get caught up with this series for free if you have Kindle unlimited...S.W. Frank is a master storyteller...every one of her novels are masterpieces.
I just read the last sentence in Amoroso. How do I even begin to work these books out of my system? I'm so attached. Is it time to really fall back? These books are filled with so many life lessons, yet it's fiction. Thank you for bringing Alfonzo, Geo, Selange, Shanda, Sophie, Vincent into my world, but most of all Nico and Ariana. So, I won't be sad. I'll always be able to lay my head on my pillow. Cut on my Kindle. Turn on some slow tunes or classical and reminisce on the Giacanti Mi Familia starting with book one.... Alfonzo!
If there were ten stars I would give it to this story and to this series. This is how you close not only on top.but with class. Some might say that there is.much left to tell of this family and there is but for now it's just nice to spin all the.possibilities.There are times when a woman's touch is needed, because velvet covering an iron fist is taking so much better. This is time well spent with the Ginnacatti Clan. This is definitely the life of a Don,because at the end of the day it's all family.
I don't like doing reviews. I suck at it. At any rate I decided to try it this time since it's 1am and I have no one to call and discuss the book with at this hour.
I can't click on enough stars to give this book and the series as a whole. I love the series and the characters. This series is like my new General Hospital!
Tears of contentment are on my face. Thanks for the lack of spoilers & I will uphold the peace but will finally concede, Selenge is the bomb-diggity. If this is the end I'm good. Thanks S. W. Frank!
I hate to say this but I was disappointed! to me the book was all over the place. it needed some editing to. I'm still a fan and I will patiently wait for the next book.
I loved this series and I'm kinda sad to see it end. I'm now a true S W fan and I can't wait to read more of her work's. Thank you for the glorious ride !!!!
