Robin Hood has disappeared. In his absence, the Sheriff's rule is absolute. The people cower beneath his iron fist. The land is bled dry, and dying. But not everyone has given up the fight. Out in the wastes, a rebellion is building. And beneath the Earth, dormant powers have begun to stir.
Only the blind bowman, Robin Hood, can bring these forces together, and lead the uprising. But first, Marian must find him. In order to do so, she will endure the darkest of journeys, and risk far more than her life ...
In his work as a journalist, Tim Hall has written for the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph and various magazines. His debut novel, Shadow of the Wolf, is a fantastical re-imagining of the Robin Hood legends. The story continues with the forthcoming Dark Fire.
He lives in Gloucestershire, England, with his wife and their two daughters.
I really enjoyed the first book in this trilogy, but was a tad disappointed by the sequel. I grew to dislike Marian a lot, and found the story to be dragged out unnecessarily. But in this, the final instalment, all that changed. Quick-paced, action-packed, and exciting - a fantastic ending to a Robin Hood adaptation that is very different.
