Not gonna lie - I cried through a lot of the writing of this book. Aris and I have been buddies for about five years now, since she first popped into my head before Nanowrimo 2010. That's a long journey with one character, and along the way I fell in love with Dysis, and Galena, and Milek, and Calix...all of the characters in this series hold a special place in my heart.

I hope you enjoy TORN SKY. I've had such an amazing time sharing these characters and their stories with you. Thank you for reading!

*Slight spoilers for Rebel Wing #1 & Storm Fall #2*

Torn Sky was a stunning conclusion to The Rebel Wing trilogy.  I wasn't ready to say goodbye to the friends I met in this series, yet at the same time the ending was absolutely perfect.  Looking back over this journey, here are some of the reasons I ended up falling for this series and of course the final book:

✮ Fast-paced action
The battle scenes that Aris and her fellow military members found themselves in would often leave my palms sweaty and my heart racing.  And it felt as though I was with Aris in her military jet evading enemy fire or down on the ground fighting the Safara's soldiers.  It definitely made for an adventurous time!

✮Love
Whether it was Aris and Milek or Dysis and Calix, I always found myself smiling and sighing at their moments together.  Funny thing is, I usually only get attached to one couple in a book.  Yet I found myself caring for two different sets of people, because there was no way I could ignore how addicting Dysis and Calix's story was also.

He had seen her at her most vulnerable, unconscious and bleeding. But that was nothing to this, to letting him see into her soul.
“At least we’ll have someone to hold onto at the end. We won’t be alone.” His arms slid around her, and her eyes closed, and the happiness, and the sorrow, and the fear collided as their lips joined once more.

Perilous Situations
While I thought the two previous books were filled with wonderful perilous moments, Torn Sky takes the cake.  I'm still reeling over a few different moments.  Moments were I didn't know whether I wanted to pause and curl into myself or continue absorbing every single heart wrenching moment.  I love finding myself in that conflict!

His hand reached up and clasped hers, holding it against the less-bruised cheek. “I love you, Aris.”
“Don’t say it like that,” she said, swallowing back tears. “Like you’re afraid you won’t get another chance.”

The twists
All I can say is wow.  One of them cut so deep, that I couldn't stop my eyes from filling up with tears.  I never saw it coming, or maybe I didn't want to see it coming.  But when a huge light was shined on it, oh man did it hurt.  This was done perfectly, and I wish I could say more.

World Building
My friends know that my patience level for intricate world building is minimal.  But this series had such a good mix between giving us enough details to easily visualize their world and civilization, while at the same time not being bogged down with countless descriptions.

Strong Women
Aris, Dysis, and Galena each earned my respect as the series progressed.  They each had a fire in them, and at times each was a force to be reckoned with.  I loved when they wouldn't back down, no matter how dire the situation was.  And I have to say again that I loved Aris and Dysis' friendship!

She waited for him to answer, willed him to understand. She would do anything to protect this dominion. Even if it meant becoming a monster. - Galena

✮How it all tied in together
This is probably one of my favorite aspects.  The way the characters found themselves connected, or how certain events tied into other events, made for such an exciting time watching how everything was all twisted together.

I could go on and on, but these were definitely my favorites.  Although it was hard to narrow down my list!  But looking back, I am still a little conflicted over the multiple perspectives.  I think it added a more rounded feel, but then again I was stuck feeling as though I wanted to be watching another person's perspective at the same time.  But regardless, this was such a fun trilogy.  And I will definitely be checking out Tracy Banghart's other books!

What a perfect finale for one of my favorite trilogies!

A few weeks after the events of Storm Fall, Aris is simply enjoying life with her Promised Milek, but as the threat of a bomb that could wipe the entire population of Atalanta resurfaces and the possibility of ending the war is now very real, Aris and her team will do the impossible to save their dominion.

I love the fact that all the subplots were neatly resolved and the way the bomb threat was resolved. It felt real, and what also felt real was the way PTSD was depicted, Tracy did an awesome job at writing how traumatic a soldier life can be and the cruelties of war.

Even though I wanted to give it a five stars badly, the book was missing my favorite thing about the trilogy: Ari's character development.
In the first book she goes from weak dependent girl to strong soldier, and in the second book she discovers the true face of war and what she really wants for her life. In this one? I didn't felt any of that, she was basically she same person she was at the beginning of the book.
Also, at the middle of the story the pace slowed down and the ending didn't left me breathless like the last one did. The plot was resolved smartly but it didn't provoke any tears or OMGs reactions.

This trilogy still remains as one of my favorites. I mean, strong female characters? action? adventure? friendship? the perfect amount of romance? life lessons? this trilogy has it all.

I'm so grateful to have found this saga. Aris will forever be special to me.

I've been eagerly awaiting this book and it was totally worth the wait. It is a brilliant, edge-of-your-seat, action-packed, swoon-worthy conclusion to the Rebel Wing trilogy.

I didn't mean to start reading this book, I had another one I needed to read first, but then I opened it up to just take a peak at the first page and before I knew it I was a couple chapters in. Needless to say, that other book hasn't been read yet.

War is taking its toll on Aris and her friends. Ensuring Elom's capture hasn't secured them the peace they all long for. With intel about a new weapon capable of huge destruction, Aris and Milek are placed in charge of securing its retrieval. But when their missions continually go awry and the Atalanta bases are attacked they realise they have a spy in their midst.

It is a pleasure to return to the wonderful world we first found in Rebel Wing. Aris is back, as is Milek (yay!), along with all the familiar faces from the first two books. It was surprisingly easy to lose myself in Torn Sky, as it was to rejoin Aris and all her fighting colleagues. These characters are all so vivid they have stuck in my mind, which made delving back into the continuing story both delightful and wonderfully easy. If you haven't yet read Rebel Wing or Storm Fall, I suggest you do before starting Torn Sky, as they form part of a continuous storyline. Action, sweet romance, war, camaraderie and high-flying sci-fi adventure. It is a series well worth reading.

Torn Sky really was the perfect end to this trilogy. I was a little concerned about how much would fall apart in this book, but I needn't have worried. Yes, there are twists and nail-biting developments, battle, heartbreak and a bit of torture for good measure, but I love that Aris and Milek are a solid unit throughout both this book and the whole series. I love that there is so much happening that there is no need for unnecessary relationship drama. I love that we also get to see Dysis' relationship develop. I don't think it's spoilerish to say it's a great ending, both happy and a little sad, most especially because this is the last we will see of Aris, Milek, Dysis, Calix and the rest. The wonderfully creative world in which they reside, the beautiful moments between friends, the action and battle tactics, and the romance are all so enjoyable. Swoon. I love the kisses, the relationships. I would put Aris and Milek up there with Yelana and Valek (Study series by Maria V Snyder) as some of my favourite book couples. Big words, I know, but Milek and Aris make an absolutely gorgeous couple, both capable and strong in their own right and so very good together. Dysis' romance was just a bonus in this book.

Torn Sky, as with the other books in this series, has been well written and was an absolute pleasure to read.

*My Thoughts*

Torn Sky is the series finale to the Rebel Wing trilogy by author Tracy Banghart. Thanks to her actions in Rebel Wing, and again in Torn Sky, series protagonist Lieutenant Aris Haan is a hero to the people of her country. She helped capture one of Safara's biggest threats even with having a major bounty put on her head and being tortured. Thanks to some amazing behind the scenes assistance, Aris is now able to freely serve in the military as a woman and doesn't need to hide under her identity as a male pilot any longer.

Before I started reading the final book in the Rebel Wing series, I went to read some of the book reviews on Goodreads and Amazon.  I was surprised  to see that many people were disappointed with how the series ended, and I started to think that I won't enjoy it as well. BUT, I ended up really enjoying the Final installment of this series.

Did it have a slow beginning, yes! But then again, that was only the 1st 10% of the book. After that, I could barely put the book down from all of the shocking turn of events, and excellently woven subplots!

Torn Sky is the perfect mix of Romance and Action. I got to see Aris's and Milek's relationship develop, and we finally get to see Dysis happy ! ;)

The last 20% of the book left me with lots of emotions rushing through my mind.

One thing that really caught my attention is how this book focuses on the Strength of Women #GIRLPOWER ; how they can accomplish anything they want, even if the law is against it.

I love how Tracy ended the series, and resolved every single thread of a plot. I really enjoyed reading this Triology, and now that I finished the last book, I can say that I am definitely going to miss that fictional world!

I will be keeping an eye for what Tracy releases next. I saw that she has a new book coming out in 2018, so I can't wait to get my hands on it. I received an eARC of Torn Sky in exchange with an honest review.

3.5 stars

This final story about Aris' journey as a wingjet flyer wasn't as engaging as Storm Fall, though it was better than Rebel Wing.

I really liked reading Aris and Milek's relationship. Their romance between their duties is sweet and endearing. I also liked reading Dysis and Calix, as I can tell in Storm Fall, they are perfect together. And I'm glad the author pairs them up as I wanted them to be. It's like she read my thought or should I say my review? :D

My doubt and/or questions on Storm Fall are also answered here. I'm quite satisfied with it. Again, it's like she knows what I (and maybe other readers) want from the series.

As a war approaches Atalanta, this book brings tension with gun shooting, bomb blasting, kicking, punching, screaming and whatnot. I really felt the tension and can see that war is indeed approaching Aris’ dominion. The tension didn't as high as in Storm Fall, though. There were times that felt like the characters take a rest, though I can still feel the war is around the corner. And the good thing is the author fills those calm times with different story that in the end can be as a backstory as well as to build a whole series.

There is one backstory that I didn't quite like, though. In fact I didn't like it since Rebel Wing. It's Ward Vadim and Ward Neko's story. As heartbreaking as their story is, I didn't think that they are good leaders. In most of the time, I didn't find they give big contribution to their dominion. In a way they seem like don't know what to do with everything that happened and will happen to their dominions. I couldn’t sympathize for them. Hence I don't think they are that important.

I'm aware that Ward Vadim has an important role, in the end. But I found it is too easy to believe. It led me thinking that if it is that easy why didn't she do it sooner? It felt like just because the story is reaching the last page, the characters get advantages from coincidental things as well as easy things that seem so hard in previous books. I think it happened a few times I felt it's too coincidence for the characters comfort .

And if you pay attention to the characters closely, what they do and talk, the surprises aren't that surprising. But they are still good surprise for the story, I think.

Although the ending felt a bit anticlimactic, I did think it's a good ending and I surely happy as most of the characters have their own happy ending. But I think this final story didn’t satisfy me much, at least not as much as I wanted it to be. My favorite is still Storm Fall.

Torn Sky is the third and last book in the Rebel Wing trilogy by Tracy Banghart.

Torn Sky starts couple of weeks after the events in Storm Fall (second book). Women are now serving openly in the military, the war with Safara is still going on and Aris and Milek are officially a couple; but there is no respite for them with the imminent threat of a powerful bomb that could wipe out all humans of Atalanta. The problem is the Safarans are one step ahead of them, it looks like the Atalantas have a spy on their midst, a spy that is not only reporting all their plans and giving away top secret information, but is also helping them plant bombs in key military locations. With the help on an unexpected ally, the Atalantas may have enough help to finally find the bomb and end the war. But things are never easy, especially for Aris and Milek.

Although I like Torn Sky, I felt it was missing some of the magic of previous books, especially relating to Aris and Milek. There was development in their relationship, but there was not development in their characters. I wish I had seen some kind of growth in their personalities, but maybe they are just where they have to be, I don’t know.

Banghart doesn’t shy away in this installment. The stakes are high and the price to pay is high as well. There is suffering galore and deaths a plenty. Despite guessing who was the spy since the very beginning, it was still good seeing that person deal with remorse and the consequences of his/her actions.

Secondary characters we love like Dysis, Jax and Calix are front and center in this installment. I loved the participation they had in the story and how elemental they were in the resolution. I also loved the way things are left for them.

The first part of the book is a bit slow going, but the second part is non-stop action. Banghart expertly closes all the open links from previous books and leaves the story and its characters in a good place, with the hope of a better future to come for all of them.

Torn Sky is a good addition and a good conclusion to a great series. I recommend this trilogy to YA Sci-Fi fans.
These books don’t work as stand alones; they should be read in order to understand all the undercurrents of the story.
I’m looking forward to reading new books by Tracy Banghart.

What an emotional, gut-wrenching ride! TORN SKY is the final book in the Rebel Wing series and really ends the story with a bang. All of Aris's allies are included. Not everyone makes it out at the end, but those that do get their HEA.

Aris has come a long way from the girl we were introduced to in REBEL WING. She is strong, knows what she wants and has no problem going for it, even if it puts her in harms way. Her relationship with Milek has grown and he lets her be who she is without holding her back. I absolutely loved reading about her flying and the joy she got out of protecting those she cares about and the people of Atalanta. I cried my eyes out during a few parts of TORN SKY so be prepared to be emotionally rung out a few times.

One of the silliest things bothered me in TORN SKY. There is a point where Aris puts her ring on her bedside table (because she doesn't wear it while working) and something happens that takes her away from her stationpoint, but she never mentions the ring that was left behind, or how she got it back if it wasn't left behind. Which stuck out because she was really proud of the ring and mentioned it a few times. It just shows up on her hand again in the end of the book. Like I said, silly to bother me, but for some reason it did and I kept waiting and waiting for it to be mentioned.

I would have really loved to see Aris and Milek get married and see a glimpse into their future at the end of the book but overall TORN SKY did a really good job of completing the story. There wasn't an easy resolution to the major conflict of the series which helped make everything seem real and kept my heart pumping. The whole series had a great flow, engaging characters, tons of action and a little bit of romance to make it a well rounded story. I would read it again!

A wonderful conclusion to the trilogy! I read almost the whole way through in one sitting! One thing this series does really well is give us great connection to characters. And then crushes us just when we aren't expecting it! The twist was very well done in this one, I did not see it coming at all!

Tracy Banghart's farewell to her beloved Aris Haans was a bittersweet delight. In essence, Torn Sky was an audacious quest about an array of capable women who struggle to find their identity and resolve in the midst of chaos and conflict. I have to admit that, the one thing that was striking about Torn Sky, was the incredible cast of gutsy women who shrewdly overcome the limitations forced on them all whilst earnestly dealing with the matters of the heart. If you are looking for a book or series that tackles gender stereotypes, you will want to add this series to your bookshelf!

___________________________________________
WHAT I LIKED:
+ I am wholly enamored with the character development in this series ― it is absolutely extraordinary! Each character is fashioned in a realistic way; their emotions are raw and unaided, they are imperfect, hasty, rebellious and they challenge the fixed order of things thus allowing access to different tones and emotional depth. Furthermore, they each face difficult decisions and while they don’t always manage to make the right choices, they glean from their predicaments ― each learning how to deal with loss, sacrifice and betrayal

+ Allow me to be the first to attest that Tracy Banghart has made her mark! She is truly an inspirational voice in the feminist movement and culture. This series legitimately challenged my view on the issues of masculinity and femininity and how gender stereotyping can truly affect men and women in every sphere of life! I suppose this is why the Rebel Wing series has left such a great effect on me and why I love it so deeply; gah! I’m so going to miss my friends Aris, Dysis, Galena, Dianthe and yes, even Pallas

+ There was an unexpected plot twist in Torn Sky that had me riveted. The political intrigue and conspiracy, however, is what really fascinated me most because despite the distress and chaos, Aris ―or any of the other female leads for that matter― was never placed on a pedestal of self-righteousness. On the contrary, each female character in this book was found cornered in dreadful situations which in turn moved me to root for them ― believing in their motives and riding along in their arduous journey

+ The romance in Torn Sky has stolen my heart once more Yes, this love affair stands out among its peers because of its complex emotional conflict. We have Aris and Milek who simply yearn to feel one another’s embrace, warmth, gentleness; who crave one another’s touch, words, kiss. But war is imminent! Even more, the romance between Aris and Milek is not shallow or mindless. Milek grounds Aris, he brings out the best in her, he helps her discover the value in her words, her efforts, her sense of being, her dreams ― he’s the one safe place she can go to when everything else is in chaos and he never pursues her for personal gain. I love it. Oh, how I love it

+ When I first read the Rebel Wing series and discovered that the story line was saturated with military lingo and aircrafts, I was immediately disinterested. But as I kept reading and taking in the scenic views that Tracy Banghart delicately and gracefully captured when Aris was found flying, I was entranced. Take for instance, this small snippet:

“Today, it was enough to dance along familiar cliffs, tip her wings to the history she shared with this place, the past that had shaped her and driven her to who she’d become.”

and this one:

“Like a silver arrow, she shot over the ocean, caught between the roll of deep cobalt and the lighter blue of the sky. She climbed, higher and higher, flirting with a bank of puffy white clouds before tipping backward to a free-fall. She pulled out of the dive and skimmed just above the water. . .”

Can smell the ocean breeze? Can you see the orange and pink hues in the distant sunset? Do you feel that? Yep, it’s heart palpitations. Case in point, this is only one snippet from Torn Sky; there is so much more!

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKED:
- It seemed as though our antagonists were overlooked and underdeveloped in Torn Sky ― which is a bummer considering this is the last book in its series. Frankly, I thought Elom’s character was genius in Rebel Wing, but as I followed him into Storm Fall and ultimately into Torn Sky I concluded that his character arc was more of a device that helped move the development of the story towards a certain direction and not the force I had hoped to be reckoned with. I literally wanted to reach within the pages of my Kindle device and dismantle him. I wanted to know his back story, I wanted to understand his motives and rationale, I wanted to know the mental connection between him and the characters; particularly, Galena. That said, this quibble left a lot to be desired to say the least

- I found I had little concern and interest for the world in this series; perhaps this too was not fully developed? In any case, I was more concerned about the safety and outcome of my favorite characters. This minor gripe, however, is easily overseen in light of the characterization for Aris and even some of the other female leads

AFTERTHOUGHTS:
In the end, I thought Torn Sky wrapped up the series marvelously; granted, Rebel Wing is by far my favorite book, but while Torn Sky might not have the same spark as Rebel Wing, the series as a whole, has an incredible and challenging message, and that is more than enough to recommend it

I received a review copy in exchange for an honest review

Torn Sky is the last book in the Rebel Wing series and I was so excited and curious to see how the author would wrap this series up. It's a great ending to the series, the ending was pretty much perfect. Although a lot of bad stuff happens before they get there. Torn Sky is a bit darker than the previous books in my opinion, it's more extreme. More sneak attacks, more fighting, more deaths and losses. It's gritty and real and hard to read at times, but also very realistic. The author had no problem killing off a lot of characters, but I felt like by doing this she was able to show the true horrors of war. Lots of people die for the hope of peace and saving their country.

I felt like the first half of the book was a bit slow in comparison, setting things up for the rest of the book. Once I hit the second half though I couldn't stop reading. I just sat there and finished the book as I had to know how it would end. The story mostly focusses on the war, the plot of a spy in the Atalan army, spies they plant in Safara and the bomb. I thought I had figured out who the spy was, but then Tracy Banghart managed to complete me surprise me when I did found out who the spy was. It was handled very well and was very well written as looking back there were hints, but I hadn't picked them up. The whole book is very well written actually.

And the ending finally made me happy, although it's bittersweet as well. They really have to fight for everything and things are hard. So many lives lost and sacrificed and this book had me close to tears a few times. There are also a few torture scenes which were hard to read, but luckily the scenes weren't too long. And there's this scene at the end, that was so good and hopefully, gah perfect! The author also takes her time wrapping things up and showing what the characters will be doing next.

Even though it's the last book there is still a lot of focus on the characters and how they change from what they go and went through. The effect of the war are seen in how they acts and it's hard to see them fighting and losing so much and still going on. Some characters really have a hard time dealign with everything and I feel so sorry for them for what they have to go through, at times I just wanted them to be happy and all we see is them going through more difficult times. I did like seeing their determination, their belief in that they were fighting for the right thing and doing the right thing. There are also some characters who really surprised me in this book. Characters who change in unexpecting ways or things we learn about them which I didn't expect. And there are so many characters that I grew fond of only to see them die. There are characters who make the ultimate sacrifice for their dominion and while it often fit and showed the strength of these characters and their determination to fight till the bitter end of die trying, it was also hard to see so many lives lost.

Just like the previous book there is still the multiple point of views, which I really liked and it worked well for this series. There were times I wanted to shake some sense into Dysis though as she's so reluctant to accept help in any way even when she needs it. There are also some sub plots about romance, which I really liked. It offers some relief form the bad stuff and offers a glimpse of hope. I really liked Milek and Aris their relationship and seeing their love for each other and how they handled it on the base and found ways to be close while still being professional, I thought they handled it well. There are also some other characters who find love, but it's all woven very well into the story and I liked it.

To conclude: This was a great ending to the series. This book feels a bit darker than the previous books in my opinion. IThere is a lot of hardship, bad stuff happening, deaths and losses that happen in this book. It could be hard to read at times and this book had me close to tears a few times, but I did feel like Tracy did a great job to capture that feel of war, the helplessness and how anyone can die every day, it was pretty realistic in my opinion. The first half was a bi slow, but once I reached the second half I could not put the book down, literally and read the second half in one sitting. The characters also play an important part in this book, it's hard seeing them go through this all, but I also admired them for how they kept going. There are quite some surprises and changes when it comes to the characters and it was well done. It was a well written book and a great ending to the series!

"Torn Sky" the emotionally -gripping final novel in the "Rebel Wing" series begins after Aris Haan not only brings the vicious Safaran spy Elom to justice but learns that Ward Belios is perfecting a lethal bomb called the "flaming scorpion" to wipe out Atalantans. Aris and Major Melik Vadim's mission to find the bomb is hampered by a traitor in their unit who's feeding sensitive information to Safara. If not stopped, the details of their mission revealed and the stealth capability of their wingjets discovered the war could be lost.

In a roller-coaster ride that has firebombs exploding at stationpoints, a collaborator leaking sensitive information and the Atalantans implanting a spy within the highest Safaran ranks, the action never stops. Set in an ugly war that brings chaos, misery, devastation, and death there are shining moments of courage, friendship and love with the odd dash of humor that breaks the high level of tension. Tracy Banghart's writing style is fluid bringing a sense of realism to a plot that vibrates with intensity and suspense from the opening chapter to the climax. With surprising twists this well-developed plot keeps the reader enthralled as friendships and loyalties are tested.

The story's emotionally-charged as events unfold that have Aris, Melik and their unit caught in traps fueled by subterfuge that bring danger and death. Deeply in love they constantly hang on to the promise of a future together but are always aware that logically in this unexpected and senseless war they can only look forward to each moment. But theirs is not the only love that struggles to survive the uncertainty and tragedy of war, Dysis and Calix cannot deny their chemistry and begin to forge a strong bond after she's injured in an explosion.

The characters are unforgettable adding passion, energy and tension to the action. Lieutenant Aris Haan haunted by death and suffering, constantly confronts the fear and doubts that once almost destroyed her love of flying, finding an anchor in her love for Melik. As the trilogy has progressed she's become more confident in her purpose and leadership role, proud of the respect the members of her unit give her. Major Melik Vadim a conscientious but hardened officer who's unruffled in an aerial fight continues to show more empathy since falling in love with Aris. Similarly Calix the skilled mender shows patience and concern for Dysis but isn't domineering and overprotective of the feisty, no-nonsense gunner. Yet in this story it's the ruthless arrogance of Ward Belios with his disregard for human life and the rules of war that adds a frightening chill to the drama.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Torn Sky", a riveting story with surprising twists and memorable characters that I had trouble putting down until finished. I highly recommend the Rebel Wing series and can't wait to see what Tracy Banghart has in store next for her fans.

review

You know that feeling when you read a series, and Book 1 is great, mind blowing even; Book 2 lags a bit, and then turns out to be awesome... And finally, comes Book 3, you start reading it, but not as excitedly anymore, but soon the story sucks you in and there's all that magic that strung you along in the first place?

That was this series for me.

It's been a deeply enjoyable experience. In the first place, the books have come out not very far between, all in the same year, and it's been the perfect timing, because it makes sense from a marketing POV, but also doesn't make the reader suffer as much as he would having to wait another year.

Also, Rebel Wing came out shortly after I started blogging, and now Torn Sky is here, and very close to the date of A Writer's Tales blogoversary, so you can tell why this series is so special for me too. It's been a journey for the two and the end of a really good stage in my life.

Now, as for Torn Sky; it starts out soon after where Storm Fall left off, and although that first scene is super sweet, it failed to grab my attention a whole lot. I struggled with that first chapter because I needed something new, something to keep me hooked. I didn't have to wait too long, so YAY

This series' strong points are mainly the wonderful female characters, that with flaws and all, and without being special snowflakes, show strenght, and determination. Those two things that every human being is capable of but some people seem to be under the impression that women just don't have it in them. The second thing, is the realism in the descriptions of how life in the army is. It really shows that the author knows what she's talking about.

After the first plot point, things got interesting and sped up considerably. People were all on edge, and it was awesome seeing them struggle as time run out to act.

Some characters truly stole the spotlight, and with good reason!

In conclusion, I'm sad to part from this story and I'm excited about the author's future projects :)

Review from Panda Hearts Books

Basically my feels right now. This series is amazing, I remember reading the first book last year and just loving it. I wasn’t so sure if I would like it but requested it because it was sold as a Mulan retelling. A year on and I love it even more. It’s just so good honestly everyone should read it. I don’t have any bad points about it so I’m forgoing my review format and just fangirling.

I’m really big on romance but Torn Sky really had it all. I absolutely adore Dysis and Calix because she’s just so tough and it makes their relationship so cute. I literally bookmarked their chapters with “cute”. Of course, there is also Aris and Milek who are just great. But really, this book isn’t about the romance, it’s about girl power.

This book is basically what I want a Disney movie to be. The girls in this book don’t need a man to save them, they do it themselves because they are total badasses. They not only dominate the military but also the more democratic side. I remember being really bored in the last 2 books when it got to Galena’s POV because I just wanted to get back into the action. But what I realise now is that she is a very strong character, just not in a conventional YA dystopian way. We imagine out heroes to be in the battlefield but it’s not always like that and this book really points it out.

I love how the secondary characters get a bigger role in this book. There’s Dysis who is recovering from the last book and Tia who has a lot of secrets. These girls provide a really different perspective from Aris and Galena and it really just made the book feel that more relatable.

I feel like I could just keep talking about the girls in this book because they were the stars which is a weird thing for me because I usually go for the guys more even though there’s a female MC. So seriously guys, that should tell you that you should read this :D

Torn Sky really ended the series on a really strong note and I’m excited to see what else Tracy Banghart writes.

I received an ecopy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

MY THOUGHTS
I'll start off by saying that I LOVE this series! It's such a fantastic series and I really wish that more people knew about it! When I received a review copy of this book, it absolutely made my day! This book wasn't as awesome as I expected, but it's still fantastic and it's such a great end to the series!

Aris is now Promised Milek, but the war is still at large, now more than ever. The Safaran's have a secret weapon, a bomb that can wipe out all Atalantan life. They must stop this weapon, but they haven't found it yet. Even worse, there's a spy in their midst. The war is going to end soon, one way or another.

My main problem with this book is how slow it was compared to the others. I felt like it took awhile for the action to take place. Now, I was on vacation while I was reading this book, so that might be why I felt like things were slow-going. After awhile, though, this book really picked up speed and it was intense! So much happened near the end and there ended up being so many twists! I ended up being satisfied with the ending!

One of my favorite things about this series is the growth of Aris. She grows so much in this series and she has become such a strong character. While this book doesn't focus so much on Aris, she does grow more as a character. This book has such a large array of characters, many of which you get to see the perspective of. Tracy Banghart doe such a fabulous job with all the characters! They were incredibly 3-dimensional and I felt like I really knew their story.

As for romance, I still ship it!

IN CONCLUSION
I love this series and I am sad that it's over, but it ended fabulous! It was slow-going at first, but it really picked up pace near the end! I strongly recommend this series and I look forward to more books by Tracy Banghart!

Nowhere To Run

This series must be read in order. The first book is Rebel Wing. The second book is Storm Fall. This is the third and sadly last book in the series.

Aris and Milek have decided to take their happiness where and when they can. Promising and hoping they can win the war AND have a future together. After all their close calls and continued armed service they know they could lose each other as easily as they have lost so many other people they cared about. Will they be able to figure out a way to stay alive and together? Or will they realize the only really thing they had in common was the war? Why are they even worrying about their personal lives when Safara has a biological weapon that can completely eradicate all human life without harming any resource including livestock and crops? Can they stop the bomb, Ward Belias and the war in time to save countless lives?

Fraught with intrigue and subterfuge the war is nearing a fever pitch. Spies and traitors seem to be everywhere not to mention the cruelties of war. Who can they trust? Who is betraying them and why? How will they win the war with the odds stacked so far against them?

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy apocalyptic wars in their post postapocalyptal dystopian futuristic military sci-fi action adventures with a dash of romance :)

Disclaimer: A review copy of this book was provided by Alloy Entertainment via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was, initially, really excited to read this book because I reviewed the previous books on my old blog and gave them 5 stars. Unfortunately, Torn Sky's first chapter disappointed me with it's choppy sentences and info-dumping. I kept coming across sentences that were just designed to convey as much information as possible about what happened in the previous books. I was also expecting something more action-packed and the book didn't immediately deliver on this. And for some reason.. I just couldn't "get" into the book. In the previous books, I got caught up in the action and felt like I was actually in the dystopian world. This time, there was this disconnect that left me feeling like I really didn't care what happened next or whether the characters survived. However, this book is part of a series and you should definitely give the first book a try if you're curious. And who knows, maybe you'll like the third book way more than I did!

So here we are at the end of the story arc. Tracy builds upon everything that she started from the last two books and wrenches you around like a rollercoaster ride. Aris is in her 'final form,' as it were, in this story. She's no longer fighting for a place in her world as she is leading the rest of the world with her.

There's a singular focus in this book that you didn't see in the previous two books. While there isn't as much shrouded in mystery as there was before (though the surprise twist does floor you), it seems that most of the time, everyone on her side is constantly trying to catch up to the events happening around then. Tracy doesn't have to build out Aris' world anymore, she's now free to whip you around at breakneck speed before hitting you in the gut, and then starting all over again.

Quite honestly, I can't even say this 'felt' like a YA book. And that's not a bad thing. This is the final in a series of books that anyone can read. And the best part is Aris: who she was, who she became, and how very real she is in both the author's and reader's minds.

Best trilogy I have read in a long long time. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I became absolutely obsessed with these books and loved the fictitious world of Atalanta and the characters. I don’t know how this hasn’t been made into a movie trilogy yet because in my mind it stands up against sequels such as hunger games and twilight.

This was the quickest I read through a sequence of books. I whole-heartedly appreciate Tracy Banghart for bringing these lovely characters into my mind and life I will always remember Aris, Dysis, Milek, Calix, and many more. Oh and if you’re looking for a book with badass heroic woman this is definitely the one for you (at first it doesn’t seem like it but trust me it gets exciting).

What an amazing series! I absolutely loved how Aris's story wrapped up. Once again, Banghart has written an action-packed, swiftly-paced page turner with so many unforgettable characters. And the twists! I don't want to give away any spoilers, but seriously--wow! There's a surprise partway through that I absolutely loved, and this character's arc was both believable and breathtaking. If you haven't read this book yet, you're in for quite a ride.

3.5?

Why the hell isn't this marked! I read it months ago. I remember the main points and I liked it, but I also remember being a tad disappointed with the way Dazia's (sp?) storyline ended. While Callum kind of redeemed himself I guess, I still was not a big fan, just eh.

Satisfying Conclusion. In this final chapter of the REBEL WING trilogy, the stakes are raised higher than ever with the reveal of a spy inside Aris' unit. After some of the most heart-stopping action and intrigue in the trilogy, we get a satisfying conclusion to all arcs. Very well done, and highly recommended - but read the first two books first!

Third book great!

The whole trilogy was well written. The story flowed easily keeping the reader looking forward to the next situation. The only problem I had was with a nineteen woman and a twenty two year old man being the ones all doing all the heroics.
