I enjoyed this well-written story. At a ball, Duke Sebastian tried to help Margaret when she had a problem with her dress. They were found together and forced to marry. Margaret's parents had been killed in a house fire and Margaret had bad memories of that night. People said she was mad because of her nightmares. The issue seemed to threaten their marriage, even as love began to grow between them. There were secrets to be revealed that threatened Sebastian's family reputation. Would their revelation help Margaret and Sebastian to have the happiness they deserve? Read on and enjoy.
Margaret and Sebastian get caught in a comprising situation and though they marry the both agree to keep up appearances got a couple months before going their own way. Meanwhile Margaret has suffered for years with nightmares of the night both her parents. These nightmares have affected her and her cousins standing with the ton. Little did Margaret and Sebastian realize that they are tied more closely to her nightmares than either of them realize but when all is revealed and resolved they find their hea.
The love of one for her brother, allowed a child to be branded as cursed. Duty and honor gets a bad name when it’s built on lies and evil. In an odd quirk of fate that very child grown marries her son. When Sebastian discovers the truth, he chose to reveal it and face his family’s disgrace, freeing Margaret from the “curse”. They defy the odds and fall in love, the greater gift.
From beginning to the end, this book was amazing. The love story was amazing! Emma Linfield can tell a story like no other. Not Marius commitments in my life kept me from finishing a quickly as I would have liked to leave this review. I struggled to put it down to address those obligations. But, I returned as quickly as possible and enjoyed every page. Thank you Emma💕
A story of destruction, ostentatious, whispers and scandal! Margaret had lived her life with nightmares and whispers of her being either mad or cursed. Duke Sebastian lived his life in debacles and rebellion, when caught in scandal with Margaret, they wed but only plan together for two months! Very interesting book!
Throughout this story is the desire to find who the culprit is white feeling the pain of a young girl's memories of the death of her parents. Her reputation of being "mad" has caused irreparable harm to her. This is romance but also a mystery that will surprise the reader.
A truly great read! I couldn't put it down. Wit, charm, mystery and of course, romance! Two people stumble upon each other and fate,or providence has His way. I love that Emma can weave a story that has everything and yet has no foul language or sordid sexual scenes. I love her writing and highly recommend any of her books.
Story had twists and turns you didn’t see coming. Don’t want to give anything way so you will just have to read it yourself. You won’t be disappointed. You won’t like the Dowager Duchess. Also there aren’t any steamy sex scenes, but it was still a wonderful novel. First time reading a novel by this author but it won’t be my last.
This was a delightful story. The banter between Sebastian & Margaret was so entertaining & witty. I laughed a lot through out the story. It was such a clever ending that even I didn’t foresee it. And that almost never happens.
What a wonderful story. Caught in a scandal and ending in love. You could just feel each of them coming to love each other, but not admitting it. His mother was a real piece of work. The cat is an extra bonus character. Don't miss this delightful book.
This book is good, it could have been great if certain chapters had been developed further and things hadn't been resolved too quickly. This book could have used a little more tension, but otherwise, I really enjoyed reading it.
I loved the story but it was a little too drawn out. I didn’t understand why Sebastian’s mother would keep the story of her brothers wrong doing a secret. Mother In Law was not a good person.
This is a phenomenal story! I loved the characters! The plot was intriguing and pulled one in, I liked that it was cleanly written without graphic text,
