Meet Wilfred, the only son of old Count Dracula. Soon Wilfred will inherit his father's title and castle. Then he will be the greatest vampire of them all. Shame that Wilfred prefers fresh milk from the cow to fresh blood from the neck. Vampire? Wimpire, more like!

I decided to read this book before giving it to my eight-year-old niece. There’s quite a lot of story here, considering it’s only 67 pages long, and I found it very easy to read. However, I thought the tale was a bit odd, unpleasant and sad. It’s perhaps down to personal taste, but I won’t be passing it on to my niece, because it just didn’t sit right with me.

This tells the tale of Wilfred, son of Count Dracula, and his struggle to be the vampire his father wants him to be.

It's a short book designed for struggling or reluctant readers. The plot is simple and the characters likeable. My young son would enjoy this book which, whilst it touches on the blood-drinking nature of vampires, does so without being gory, or indeed scary at all.

Entertaining but I read this quite fast and the book is a bit thin. But still is a fun read
