Hunted By Hades: A Motorcycle Club Romance

Rate this book
He says he’s saving me. But who saves me from him?

One day, I’m a true-crime podcaster chasing a story about missing women. The next, I’m the story—a journalist with a target on her back and a motorcycle club president kicking down my door before the hitmen can.

Hades Mercer is every warning I’ve ever ignored—calm voice, cold eyes, hands built for violence. He calls it protection when he drags me into his world of leather and secrets. But the way he looks at me? That’s not protection. That’s possession.

Now I’m trapped behind razor wire with the devil himself, and the longer I stay, the harder it is to remember that he’s the villain in my story… not the hero I’m starting to want.

protective outlaw • journalist heroine • forced proximity • morally gray savior • enemies-to-lovers heat

Putting a Target on Your Back

This is exactly what Poet does when she starts investigating missing women for her podcast. This is where Hades, the President of the Savage Saints MC comes in. Hades and his MC brothers are there for Poet knowing that she has uncovered something much bigger than her but does Poet really trust the MC.

This was a drama driven story that kept me involved throughout. I loved the forced proximity as well. I can’t wait to see what the author brings next in the MC world.

Hunted By Hades

This would be better if chapter 2 and 3 wasn't confusing. They need to edit the books better. I would not buy book as is.

Poet never planned to become prey. She was just doing her job—digging into the disappearances of missing women for her true-crime podcast—until suddenly the story turns around and starts hunting her back. Enter Hades Mercer: president of the Savage Saints MC, danger in a leather cut, a man whose presence feels like smoke and gasoline. He doesn’t knock. He invades. He doesn’t ask. He claims. And just like that, Poet isn’t the investigator anymore… she’s the target worth killing for.

But here’s where the book really hooks you—because being kidnapped for protection shouldn’t feel like safety… and yet it does.
That confusion, that tension, that I hate him, I want him, I don’t know what to do with this man energy is electric. Loud. Consuming.

And while the MC world is gritty and violent, Calloway gives it heart. The Savage Saints aren’t just bikers—they’re warriors fighting something far darker than turf wars. The trafficking ring, the corruption, the powerful players pulling strings from the shadows… the stakes are real, and the danger feels close enough to breathe.

Why you’ll devour this story:
⚡ Tension so thick you could cut it with a blade
🏍 Forced proximity & dangerous protector vibes
🔥 Possessive MMC who softens only for her
🎙 Strong FMC who refuses to stay silent or weak
🖤 Shadowy world of MC politics, power, and revenge

The romance is a slow burn not in pacing, but in emotional unraveling. It’s lust-to-love with walls torn down piece by piece, not with graphic scenes but with glances, choices, trust painfully earned. And that vulnerability is what makes it feel real.

Poet isn’t naïve—she questions everything. She struggles, resists, demands answers. And Hades? He’s not pretending to be a hero. He’s darkness armed with knives and loyalty, but when he looks at her, you feel the shift. He doesn’t just protect her—he chooses her.

By the end, you’re torn in the same way she is.
Is Hades her captor? Her savior? Or the man who becomes both?

If you love:
🖤 Dark romance with heart
🏍 MC worlds with grit and danger
🔎 Mystery + crime investigation threads
🔥 Possessive but redeemable men
💣 Fast pacing and high tension

…you’re going to inhale this book in one sitting and then stare at the wall whispering, Oh no, I think I’ve fallen for the devil too.

Hunted By Hades is intense, addictive, and deliciously dangerous—proof that sometimes the man you should run from is the one you run straight into.

3.5 stars—-HUNTED BY HADES is the third instalment in Kelsie Calloway’s contemporary adult, SAVAGE SAINTS MC romance series. This is club president Hades Mercer, and journalist / podcaster Poet Sullivan’s story line. HUNTED BY HADES can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Hades and Poet) HUNTED BY HADES focuses on the take down of a possible human tracking ring. Poet Sullivan has spent months investigating the disappearance of several local women, women abducted near the Savage Saints MC territory but not all is as it appears to be, Poet has been targeted, and Hades is determined to protect the woman with whom he will fall in love.

The world building sees Poet working side by side with the Savage Saints MC to take down what is much more than a human trafficking ring but a ring with powerful connections that go all the way to the top. HUNTED BY HADES covers but a few days.

The relationship between Poet and Hades is one of immediate attraction, an insta-lust to love in which Poet struggles to trust the president of the Savage Saints MC in the wake of rumors and lies fed to her by the people she trusted. The $ex scenes are mostly implied.

The secondary and supporting characters are limited including MC VP Saint Callahan, as well as FBI Agent Chen and Torres.

HUNTED BY HADES is a story of power and control, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance. The fast paced premise is character driven, entertaining and interesting; the romance is mostly off-screen; the characters are desperate and determined.

This short story has a few editing issues that need sorting, names changing, genders changing and chapters 2 and 3 make things confusing as a reader. I also found myself questioning where this story fits into the timeline of the series as the main female characters from books 1 & 2 don't feature in it and there was nothing in either of those books that hinted at anything in this one was going to take place. However, at the heart of this book are people willing to walk into danger for truths to be told and justice to be served, people who understand that the world isn't black and white and that the world is complicated and full of difficult situations and decisions, and it was this that held my interest and is reflected in my rating.

Hades and Poet’s story is a fast-paced, high-intensity ride from start to finish. Poet, an investigative journalist, starts uncovering a disturbing pattern surrounding the disappearances of three women—all vanishing near an MC club. The deeper she digs, the more dangerous the situation becomes.

Hades, the club president, is well aware of what Poet is investigating—and more importantly, that she’s getting dangerously close to the real criminals. While sparks fly between them, the danger closing in makes every moment feel heightened and urgent.

For a short story, this one is definitely jam-packed. Between the suspense, undeniable chemistry, and their shared determination to uncover the truth, it’s a quick but thrilling read that keeps you hooked until the end.

needs tweaking

I would've given this book four stars however this author has a hard time with continuity, timelines, and keeping details straight. I have read all the books in this series and I enjoyed them all, however, chapters 2 and three of this book are totally out of whack. Points of view change in the middle of chapters with no heads up, characters will change from men to women then back again, several times and events will be written out of order. A good editor or proofreader would do wonders! However, I did enjoy all of the books in the series, but the glitches kind of take away the enjoyment of the story because you're trying to figure out why everything is messed up.

The Journalist and the MC President

Poet is an investigative journalist with a true crime podcast. While investigating the mysterious disappearance of several women, she unknowingly becomes a target herself.

Now, Hades, the president of Savage Saints MC becomes her protector. Behind the armored gates of the MC clubhouse, she gets up close and personal with Hades. He’s the only one who can keep her safe as they uncover some dangerous secrets.

Overall, good story with a dynamic plot and some thrilling action.

least favorite of the 3. In my review of the second I suggested author needs continuity editor. same here. are they in montana or Chicago? do they have compounds in both? and chapter 2
and 3 are confusing. 2 has them found at compound andcrunning. 3 repeats part of 2 and has her staying at compound. And this time the story is a stretch. Is it possible that a trafficking ring is connected at all levels of government? scary but possible. is it possible they join with the feds to fight crime? umm not likely.

Hunted By Hades is book 3 in the Savage Saints MC series and is Hadesa and Poet's short, fast-paced, quick read.
Podcaster (Poet) and President (Hades) of the Savage Saints MC take us on quite a ride in Hunted By Hades. This story is intense, intriguing and dramatic. Nothing is as it seems as Poet searches for abducted/missing women. Lies, betrayals and secrets are abundant in this story. I was completely engrossed in their journey from start to finish.

“Hunted by Hades” by Kelsie Calloway

-A dark, fast-paced MC romance that reads like an action thriller with a strong emotional core. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest opinion.

Poet and Hades share a tense, off-page romance built on trust, danger, and hard-earned vulnerability. Despite some editing and timeline issues, the themes of justice, moral gray areas, and chosen loyalty make this an engaging short read.

Poet and Hades. This was a very intense read. Poet is a powerhouse of a woman. It was filled with a lot of sensitive information. Chapters 2 and 3 are confusing and it wasn’t edited very well. it made it hard to focus on the rest of the book. It’s very heavy in information. The first two books in the series was much better in my opinion

Hades & Poet

Good quick read, however chapters 2 & 3 are a bit confusing with the chronological events. Also Chen is referred to as female but later in book as male with the mix of pronouns being used. A cliffhanger from book 2 was never answered in 3 regarding the mysterious person claiming to be Em's family member that shows up at end of story with ni identity defined. (Reviewed by Lin)

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Poet is tough on her own but teamed up with Hades, they are dangerous to the bad guys. I like how Hades rescued Poet before she was killed and how they stopped the Chicago operation. The war against the bad guys are not done but Hades and Poet will take their love any chance they can.

Poet is searching for missing women and thinks that the local MC is behind it. Little does she know is that they are protecting her. They rescue her right before she is to be killed. Now she must trust them and help them get rid of the bad guys. During all this, her and Hades start a heated relationship. They are fighting to protect others along with themselves.

I did not enjoy this addition to the Savage Saints MC series. There was too much repetition of the storyline that I think the author was meaning as different perspectives of the same scene. There were no mentions of the female characters from the earlier books. Overall I had to force myself to finish it.

A MC romance that is more like an action movie with a romantic component. There is human trafficking elements in the story.
