SAVING THE ANGEL OF DEATH : VOLUME 2

Rate this book
The first time I burned down the world for her, I was ten years old. And I'll do it again, every chance I get.

KILLIAN
The monsters who ran the world destroyed every dream I ever dared to dream, every person I ever loved and then, they took my sanity. Nothing was sacred, not even my body.

In the pit of darkness and torture, I held a secret very close to my heart. Magdalena Michaelson was the only happiness I’d ever known. She was the white puffy cloud, the sunny blue sky, the cotton candy and giggles all wrapped up as one single beautiful nerdy girl. With her tales of imaginary worlds she sang the demons tormenting me back to sleep every day, making my nights bearable.

She was my angel and I was her dragon.

She was too innocent to realize the sick demented monsters we were surrounded by. To keep her happy and perfect, I shielded her from them. For years, I successfully hid my secret from him.

I should have been braver. I should have fought harder. Instead, I kept telling myself I was just a little boy in love. By the time I gathered the courage to run, it was too late.

I killed him, and it cost me everything.

Dear readers,
First of all, thank you so much for reading my book(s).
This is my pen name. I live in a rural part of the United States with a husband, our kid and a giant, goofy, crazy dog.

I worked in the sciences for about twenty years but writing dark romance/fiction was always my true calling.

Dark stories have occupied my mind since too young of an age. At first, I used to repress them or write them to throw them away but I slowly learned that wasn’t good for my mental health. Reading and writing dark stories is therapeutic for me. Writing them flushes the demons from my mind, and reading teaches me I’m not alone. I publish them because I know there are others like me, who need to explore the darkest corners of their minds. This does not mean in any way that I would ever approve or wish such dark events on anyone's life, on the contrary.

I know that it doesn't make sense to some, but dark romance and horror are healing to many survivors and I hope with all my heart to help at least some readers heal with my stories. I also hope I can educate through the stories I tell.

I really love getting feedback from readers. The positive reviews makes me smile, the constructive negative reviews help me learn, so please don't be shy. It’s really hard out here for a rookie Indie author so please take three minutes to leave me a review on Amazon and Goodreads, even if it’s just an emoji.

Thank you very much for your help and support.

(ARC Review)

4⭐️ (maybe 4.25 honestly…still deciding)

First things first … Triggers. Read them. No joke. Read them.

Okay so I went into this already attached to Magdalena…and then we get Killian’s POV.

At first I was like…do I care? Not really. I was so locked into Magdalena that shifting away from her felt like a disruption more than anything.

…until I did.

Seeing everything through different perspectives actually made the whole story hit harder. Like way harder. Because now you’re not just watching it happen—you’re feeling it from every angle, and it’s a lot.

Killian’s childhood? Brutal. This poor kid never stood a chance, and watching it unfold was honestly heartbreaking. And the “little prince”?? Yeah…that’s never going to feel the same again. 💔

And Tristan…listen. I wanted to hate him. I really did. But getting his perspective makes everything so much more complicated. You see too much. You understand too much. And it makes it worse. There’s probably a better word than “revealing,” but honestly it just felt shattering.

This whole book is uncomfortable in a very intentional way. It doesn’t hold your hand, it doesn’t soften anything, and it feels real in a way that’s hard to sit with. I love that SkyBlu commits to that, but wow .. it hurts.

And that ending?? What in the actual—🤯
No warning. No peace. Just done.

I almost skipped the author’s note and thank god I didn’t because finding out this is now a trilogy?? Immediate relief because I was about two seconds away from launching my Kindle across the room. 😅

So yeah. Painful, heavy, and kind of impossible to look away from. I’m stressed, I’m invested, and definitely I’m sticking around for more.

If I’m being completely honest I was disappointed initially when I found out this was taking place in the same timeline as book 1 but in the MMCs POV, but once I started reading I realized just how much we needed this context! This is one of the few books I’ve read where an author does this that didn’t feel like a re-read just from a different POV. We get added context that was very much needed, and every question I had after book 1 was answered. This book will have you feeling like you’re going a little crazy trying to figure everything out, but when it all clicks it’s worth it!

Seriously if you have even a single trigger please read them for these books. These are pitch black, and will leave you questioning whether the MMC is even redeemable.

Thank you so much to Sky Blu for allowing me to read this pre-release in exchange for my honest review

Omg!!! Sky this is pitch black with an even darker back story. Would you give your mind, body, and soul to save the person you love?

STAOD Vol.2….wow!! I have never had a book trigger me, until I read this. Vol.2 is going to answer your questions from Vol.1. However before you go into this check TWs. In Vol. 2 we get Killian’s story. Get your tissues ready because his story is not for the faint of heart. Please note that this book contains TWs that are not for everyone, I had to take several breaks. Only you know your limits.

3.5 ⭐️ I want to preface this review by saying I absolutely LOVE SKY BLU! She is an incredible author and is learning a groove for these interconnected stories. But this story fell flatter for me and I’m wondering if we’re being more cautious when regarding children and with Killian & Tristan being so young I can understand why it seemed more close door with the beginning. I think we’re so used to seeing females as the abused victim but this was a great chance to show why and how men are abused just as often as women.

This was a continuation of the first part with Killian and Magdalena and while we see Magdalena’s POV first it is interesting to see what happened to Killian in his pursuit of saving her from his Uncle’s friends. I think the part that was confusing was we got to Killian’s part of the story and then we meet Tristan. If you haven’t read the first part of the story stop here because it can spoilers but so many of us though “sir” was Killian but Tristan is a real person too and while there’s something about the memory loss I still think we’ve just had him disappear from record.

The story has some holes that need filled in and I’m sure she’ll get to that in the next volume but personally I would have preferred this as an omnibus or given at one time because I do feel like I was missing key parts of Magdalena’s story because we didn’t have a dual POV.

The punishment for Tristan was also confusing. What was I’m presuming tattooed on to him? I would have enjoyed “Sir” first hand thoughts on what was going on during her public punishment vs just a brief sentence of what happened in the past somewhere. Overall I think the next book needs a really good proofreading team and fill those gaps in and it’ll be another 5 star from me.

I loved the first book, but this one surpassed it! I didn’t think I could be as captivated by a character as I was in this book. We knew what Magdalena went through because she told us in the first book, but seeing the other side of the story was heartbreaking!

Killian is so much more than just a character in a book! The way Sky wrote him, it felt like I was living through him—and what a life he has. If someone were to ask me my favorite part, I would choose Sir's appearance. The way the Little Prince was portrayed is eye-opening because, unfortunately, things like this happen in real life too.

I already knew this author was one of my favorites, but with this book, she has managed to outdo herself! I can hardly wait to see where the third book will take us, but I do hope they burn it all to the ground.

ARC REVIEW

Oh my baby Killian, everything you went through😭 Killian and Magdalena were just two innocent little kids who loved each other since early childhood and they did not deserve any of the things they have had to endure😭😭😭💔💔 This was such a great continuation of the first book but AGAIN I can’t believe the ending!!! I NEED MORE ANSWERS😭 Some questions were answered but so many new ones came up that I hope will be answered in volume 3! I’m also so happy I recently did a re-read of Volume 1 just to go fresh into this amazing ARC!

Sky Blu owns my heart and soul. I will read anything she writes and the author’s note at the end had me in tears! Damn author’s notes always breaking my heart💔😭 But I also 100% agree with what it said. These types of stories need to be told and heard, for the ones who need them. Sky, thank you for sharing this story, even though it has been a hard one to write! I hope it finds it’s audience and can help the ones who need it.

This book is extremely heavy on dark and heavy themes so if you have any triggers, especially regarding children then please read the triggers and go into this with caution.

I needed some time to write my review because WHY!!.

I didn't know how much I needed to see this other side and understand more of why from the first book. Sky takes you on a roller-coaster of emotions with this so buckle up with a box of kleenex a blanket and your pet because at the end you'll need a companion. youll hate to love the MMC at points and want to scream. The way this comes together in this book kept me on my feet wand sobbing at point this one hits deep and will leave a mark.

Literally finished this in a day. I couldn't put it down. The absolute horrors that the characters go through is very descriptive and terrifying and the story just pulls you in. I need the third volume because I need to know how this ends.

While I like to go in blind with all the books I read absolutely not reading them and ignoring them, I’m going to start this the same way I did before with the first two Michaelson Family books as a courtesy, because nothing about this series has gotten lighter:

READ. THE. TRIGGER. WARNINGS.

I mean it. If you thought Volume 1 was dark…this one doesn’t ease up. It digs deeper. It gets uglier. And somehow, it hurts in a completely different way.

If Volume 1 was the descent, Volume 2 is the realization that there is no bottom. No safety net. No moment where things level out and you can breathe. This is where the story shifts, where the pain sharpens, and where everything you thought you understood starts to twist.

This time, we’re inside Killian.

And that changes everything.

Seeing the world through his perspective adds a whole new layer of devastation to the story. You’re not just witnessing the darkness anymore. You’re living inside it. His trauma, his fear, his anger… It's constant. It’s suffocating. And it explains so much while somehow making everything worse at the same time.

Killian isn’t just broken. He was made this way. Shaped by violence, controlled by monsters, and forced to survive in ways that strip him down to something unrecognizable. There’s a constant tension between who he was, who he is, and what he’s becoming, and none of it feels safe.

And Magdalena?

She’s still the light… but now you see what that light costs.

Their connection isn’t soft. It isn’t simple. It’s obsessive. It’s desperate. It’s the kind of bond that forms in darkness and refuses to let go, no matter how much damage it causes. She’s his anchor, his escape, his reason, and at the same time, part of the very thing that keeps him trapped.

That push and pull is brutal to read.

Because you start to understand him.

You hate what he has had to become.

My heart broke for him, and I think yours will too.

The writing doesn’t hold back. There’s no softening of the trauma, no filtering of the violence, no attempt to make it more palatable. If anything, it feels more raw this time around. More intimate. More invasive. You don’t just see the damage; you feel it settling in.

The side characters continue to add to that unease. No one feels safe. No one feels trustworthy. Every interaction carries weight, tension, and the constant threat that something worse is coming.

And it usually is.

What really stands out in this volume is the way it blurs the line between victim and monster. It makes you start questioning everything: morality, survival, love. What does it mean to protect someone when the only way to do it is through violence? When does survival turn into something darker?

This book doesn’t answer those questions.

It just forces you to sit with them.

And the ending?

Just like before, there is no peace. No comfort. No real sense of relief. Just more tension, more questions, and that same gnawing need to keep going, even when you know it’s going to hurt.

This series isn’t just dark for the sake of being dark. It’s meant to push you. To make you uncomfortable. To make you feel everything you don’t want to feel.

And it does that perfectly.

I will definitely be patiently, impatiently waiting for the next book, because I have questions, lots of questions, but I will wait.

This is not an easy read. It’s not meant to be.

It’s heavy. It’s disturbing. And it will stay with you.

So I’ll say it again.

READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.

What I enjoy, you may not.

Happy Reading! 🖤

I went into this already emotionally tied to Magdalena, so when the story shifted into Killian’s perspective, I’ll be honest—it threw me off. I didn’t think I needed anyone else’s viewpoint. I was fully immersed in her experience, and stepping away from that felt almost intrusive at first.

But then everything changed.

Seeing the story unfold through multiple perspectives didn’t just add depth—it completely transformed the emotional weight of it. It stopped being something I was simply reading and became something I was *feeling* from every direction. And it’s intense in a way that sneaks up on you.

Killian’s past is devastating. There’s no other way to put it. Watching his childhood unravel piece by piece made it painfully clear how little control he ever had. It’s the kind of backstory that lingers, that sits heavy long after you’ve put the book down. And the phrase “little prince”? It carries a completely different, much darker meaning now.

Then there’s Tristan. I went in fully prepared to despise him, no hesitation. But being given access to his thoughts complicates everything. It forces you to see beyond the surface, to understand motivations you almost wish you didn’t. It doesn’t excuse anything—but it makes it harder to look away. The word “revealing” doesn’t quite cover it. It feels more like everything is being stripped back until there’s nothing left to hide, and that’s what makes it so unsettling.

This book doesn’t try to comfort you. It doesn’t soften the edges or offer easy emotional outs. It leans fully into the discomfort, into the harshness of what it’s portraying, and that honesty is both its strength and what makes it so difficult to sit with. It feels disturbingly real at times.

And that ending? Completely ruthless. No sense of closure, no moment to breathe—just a sharp, abrupt stop that leaves you reeling. I nearly closed the book in frustration, but reading the author’s note changed everything. Knowing this story continues into a trilogy was the only thing that kept me from completely losing it.

As much as I loved the first book, this one went further. It deepened everything—especially the characters. Magdalena’s story was already powerful, but seeing the other side of it added a whole new layer of heartbreak. And Killian… he doesn’t feel like fiction. The way he’s written pulls you in so completely that his pain, his confusion, his reality—it all feels uncomfortably close.

Certain moments stand out in a way that’s hard to shake, especially the presence of Sir. And the portrayal of the Little Prince is deeply unsettling, not just because of what it represents in the story, but because it echoes things that exist beyond it.

This author was already high on my list, but this book cements it. It’s bold, it’s raw, and it doesn’t hold back. Now all I can do is wait for the next installment—and hope that, somehow, everything comes crashing down the way it probably should.

This book completely wrecked me in the best (and worst) way possible.

Getting Killian’s POV added so much depth, and I was hooked from the very first pages. Reading about everything he went through… His pain, his thoughts, the weight of everything he’s been through, had me crying almost immediately. What hit even harder was that despite it all, he still held onto hope and wanted to be better, all because of Magdalena. Finally learning what really happened to him after Volume 1 (even though I had my suspicions) was shocking and absolutely heartbreaking.

Then we get Sir’s POV… and let me just say, the confirmation of who he was had me like “I KNEW IT.” His obsession with Magdalena is intense, but seeing it through his perspective, how he believes he’s protecting her from the horrors of the world he’s trapped in, adds such a dark, complicated layer. The trafficking ring, the manipulation, the danger… it all feels so real and disturbing.

And then “Tristan’s” POV… I am not okay. What happened to him from the beginning as a child and then co tinier through his adult life is just not right. And then in Portugal… that was unbearable to read. I was literally screaming for him. His soul has been shattered over and over again, and somehow he still fights and pushed through. And then puts Magdalena first in the end. It hurts in a way I can’t even fully describe.

And Master? …… I genuinely cannot stand him. Every time he opened his mouth, I felt physically sick. The way he talks, the way he treats them, it’s written so vividly that it feels like he’s right there in front of you. Absolutely vile.

The small glimpse into Magdalena’s POV was both a blessing and devastating. This woman has suffered so much since such a young age, and it just keeps going. At this point, I’m desperate for her to get her revenge… she deserves that moment more than anyone.

And that ending?! Just like the first book, I’m left with a million questions and zero emotional stability. Where is Killian?? What’s going to happen next?? And seriously…. Where the f*** has Julian been this whole time, and why isn’t he tearing the world apart to find his daughter?!

I’m honestly reeling. This cannot be how it ends. I need answers immediately. Sky Blu has done it again…
Is it September yet????

Wow, I was so immersed in this story. It’s been on my top most anticipated books since I read Vol l last year.
It’s such an intense read and to understand Vol ll you need to read Vol l where we follow Magdalena from childhood and her relationship with her childhood friend and first love Killian. Both kids are troubled and experience trauma from a young age.

Killian all of the sudden disappears without a trace after their house burns down, and it leaves Maggie with a broken heart always searching for him until she is taken captive and broken into a “seggs” slave. She is trained by Sir. A character I was so confused by, but we’ll get to that in Vol ll.

Vol l ends on a cliffy…. And I’ve been dying to find out what happens to Maggie and Sir. And also Where tf is Killian?

So here we are, Vol ll.
Now we get Kilian’s POV from childhood. We find out what terrible abuse he goes through by the hands of his uncle who kidnaps him and his mother forcing her to marry him.
The company he keeps are terrible people, organized trafficker, abusers and demented men. That’s how Killian ends up being abused by Master who kidnaps him after the fire. Yes you need to read it to understand this complex story.

Years pass and we meet Sir aka Tristan, who trains Magdalena after she becomes a captive in the ring.
Sir, is obsessed with her, and he tries, in his own ways, to spare her and to save her time after time with out getting caught. He needs her to live and for her to want him back.
So much happens, I promise you will not be bored for a single second!

This story is devastating, it’s traumatizing and haunting. But it also keeps you engaged with the questions it leaves you with. Every time we advanced in the story, I was questioning what in the hell was going on. Beyond intriguing‼️

I got some of them in Vol ll. And my theory that I suspected was right. Huge twist.
Let’s talk after Vol lll, which cannot come fast enough.

Big huge warning ⚠️ This is trigger heavy.
These books have pretty much every trigger you can think of. So please proceed with caution. List can be found on authors website.

⚠️ Warning!!! This book has pitch-black themes - Please check TW/CW!!! ⚠️ This is the second book of a trilogy.

Omg, I was so excited when this ARC dropped! Sky has such an amazing way of writing that pulls you in and doesn't let you go. I needed tissues right from the start and was instantly pulled into the story. We get Killian's perspective this time, a glimpse into his side of the story, which brought lots of twists that I didn't see coming!

We learn that his parents were so in love, but his father knew some bad people, and because of them, he was forced to grow up faster than any child should.

Bah, Killian - poor, poor Killian... I can't even. The absolute soul-shattering & heartbreaking things he went through, no child or person should ever have to experience that. I could feel his pain and agony through the pages. He's such a good soul underneath it all, and when he thinks he finds love, all he wants is to grab onto her and never let go. Magdalena made everything quiet down, and the voices go away. Killian knew he had to protect her from the monsters, and did everything in his power to do so. But, similar to Romeo and Juliet, their circumstances created a world in which their relationship was doomed before it even began 😭. When he realized that the plan he devised to keep her safe brought them into an even worse situation, he didn't know how to deal with it. He was forced to become someone unrecognizable to stay alive.

Be sure to grab a few boxes of tissues with this one, it's a rollercoaster of emotions, and you may not be the same person you were when you first started this book lol.

I can't wait for the next and last book of this trilogy.

I’m just in complete shock because I honestly have no idea what I just read. I just kind of stared at the ceiling after I finished reading, trying to process everything and after a good twenty minutes I still have absolutely no idea what just happened but I know that I FREAKING LOVED IT! Just starting off this is a pitch black horror erotica, with many triggers including but not limited to graphic descriptions of r@pe, sex slavery and torture. Please be mindful of your mental health before reading, and please read all the trigger warnings before starting the book. Anyways in Vol 1 we got Magdelenas side of the story and this time we get Killian’s, and oooh
it just gets so much better (or should I say worse). We start from his childhood, and then we go to his “heaven” years, and then back to “hell” which is his captivity. Both Killian and Magdelena suffer so much and my heart aches for both of them. But through all this Killian sees Magdelena as his angel and that’s what made me cry like I million times throughout this book. There’s a lot of somewhat confusing POV changes, memory loss and time switches, but it all adds to the story, because you’re I believe you’re not supposed to understand everything. Sky Blu knows how to manipulate the mind in the best way possible, the book is messy but organised, you know what’s happening but at the same time you’re completely clueless. She is a phenomenal writer and the psychological horror aspect of this book really sticks. There’s cliffhangers were just diabolical and gosh I’m gonna die having to wait until December for the third and final volume! Just a note that there may be a HEA or a non-HEA ending… so we’re kept in the dark for now… Honestly my babies deserve the world after all that’s happened to them but… I also can’t wait for whatever mindfuckery Sky Blu has planned next.

I have so much respect for this author. I will always read anything she writes. While her book might be fiction she takes some seriously heavy topics and realities and creates these masterpieces that rip your heart out.

Saving the angel of death vol 1 became one of my favorites of all time. That book literally broke me. So going into vol 2 I thought there's no way I'll be left as shattered as I was after the first one. Boy.... Was I wrong. I think I cried through 90 percent of this. So have tissues handy. Even though it's a heavy read I devoured this and was hunting for breadcrumbs the entire time to connect all the dots.

A lot of this was hard to read. Hence why I have so much respect for this author. The limits get pushed and the attention to detail is there. The emotions of the characters are real, raw, and bleed from every single page. This book isnt happy, its not meant to be. It's painful, and traumatic. It's meant to grip your heart and not let go. The rage I feel. I can't even form words for that. I hope they burn the world down in book 3.. I know a HEA isn't guaranteed but honestly I'm rooting for them.

While some dots and questions got connected and answered from book 1 I'm def left with a couple new questions! I know they'll be answered in vol. 3. I loved how book 1 was her POV and book 2 was about him. I just know the third will be absolutely amazing and I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat until then!!! With tissues ready! 😭

Excellent job Sky Blu. I know this was hard for you to write. I know it was hard to read! 😭 But thank you for all you do!

Volume 2 of Saving the Angel of Death sank its claws into me just as deeply as the first. This story doesn’t just linger, it haunts. I caught myself drifting off mid-day, replaying scenes, picking apart motives, and wandering through the book’s darker corridors long after I’d put it down.

After that brutal cliffhanger in Volume 1, I went in this desperate for answers. Instead, I got something I didn’t even realize I needed: the same timeline retold from the Killian’s and Sir’s perspective. Seeing everything from their side added layers I didn’t know existed, turning the story into something even heavier than it already was.

Midway through I was sure I figured out who Sir was and I’d cracked some secret code before anyone else. I am still confident in this revelation, but then… I read the teaser for Volume 3. Immediate chaos. Any sense of clarity? Gone. My brain is back in a blender, and I’m left screaming WHAT is actually happening here?! Now I’m not even pretending to know where this is headed. That teaser absolutely wrecked me in the best, most unhinged way.

The Michaelson Family series as a whole is not for the faint of heart. These are some of the darkest books I’ve ever read, but they’re also impossible to look away from. Reading a Sky Blu book feels like being held underwater… not struggling, not panicking… just completely submerged until the very last page finally lets you breathe again.

And just like in Volume 1, there comes a point where the darkness doesn’t ease up. It settles in and stays, twisting deep in your gut. Knowing everything Magdalena, Killian, and Sir have endured so far, I’m genuinely terrified that a happily ever after isn’t in the cards.

And yet here I am… completely hooked, slightly unhinged, and counting down the until the release of Volume 3.

The anticipation for this book after reading the first was high indeed 🤭

Now don’t go thinking after the first ended on a cliffy that we get all our answers nope siree! What we do get is Killian’s side of the story, from his own childhood where one fateful day his world is turned quite literally to red! Until he meets Magdalena, their time together during school and outside, growing into a childhood love that each grasps on to. As we all know good things tend to go awry, Killian’s new home life is not all singing and dancing, it’s hiding, bruising and locking doors but they don’t keep away the monsters and it turns into a case of out of the fire (again literally 🫣) As we know Magdalena ends up in situations beyond her control but within those we find some answers. I am being purposefully vague as I don’t want to give you too much…

𝙾𝚞𝚝𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎, 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑 𝚝𝚎𝚊𝚛𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚏𝚊𝚝 𝚍𝚛𝚘𝚙𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗, 𝙸 𝚠𝚊𝚝𝚌𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝚙𝚎𝚘𝚙𝚕𝚎 𝚛𝚞𝚗𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚒𝚛 𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚍𝚛𝚒𝚟𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚠𝚊𝚢.

I cannot lie I devoured this in one sitting albeit into the early hours 🤫 Killian's story is not for the faint hearted and we are privy to some more of what happened to Magdalena, so be prepared for that side too. We do however learn who Sir is and from his own POV of why and how he was built into himself. There is an underlying mystery, once again questions leaving us pondering, your brain attempting to work overtime but Sky is building a storyline that needs to be written to lead us to the ultimate conclusion and now I need Volume 3 🤣

Do read the trigger warnings‼️As this won’t be for everyone and that’s ok, we can’t all like the same fiction otherwise it would be a very boring book world 😉

I beta read this book, and Sky didn’t just write a story she carved open a world that bleeds. This book is a slow, deliberate unraveling of innocence, identity, and the monsters we become when the world refuses to protect us. It’s haunting in a way that lingers long after you close the final page.

Killian’s chapters gutted me. There’s a fragile light inside him, flickering against a darkness far too big for a child to fight. Sky doesn’t shy away from the brutality of his world she forces you to sit with it, to feel it, to ache for him. There were moments where his joy felt like a stolen miracle, and moments where the mother in me wanted to tear through the pages and drag him out of the nightmare he was born into. His pain isn’t sensationalized; it’s human, raw, and terrifyingly real.

And then there’s Sir.

Reading Volume 1, I kept spiraling convinced he and Killian were the same person, then doubting myself, then circling back with a sick certainty. Sky plays with identity like a blade, twisting it just enough to make you question your own instincts. Sir is written with a cold precision that made my skin crawl. Every action, every word, every calculated moment with Maggie carries a weight you don’t fully understand until it’s too late. There’s a motive behind everything he does, and when the truth begins to surface, it hits with the force of something inevitable and devastating.

This book is not gentle. It’s not comforting. It’s a descent—beautiful, brutal, and unforgettable. Sky doesn’t just tell a dark story; she makes you live inside it. And once you’re in, there’s no walking away untouched.

I finished this book last night, well to be more honest it finished me. I needed some time before I posted my review. I have been highly invested in these characters since Sky introduced them to her ARC team. She loves to edge us.

I will say, going in I was already anticipating a roller coaster of emotions. What I didn’t expect was the way I would feel seeing the other POV in what happened. It was heartbreaking to say the least. It was captivating. I was so team Magdalena, and then you see Kilian’s POV and you can’t not feel for him.

This story in true Sky fashion is very descriptive, in such a way that it drags you and your emotions in this gut wrenching journey that can only leave you shattered. You hate to sympathize with actions and characters, and yet at time you catch yourself doing just that.

I really didn’t know how much I needed to see things from Kilian’s POV.

This story was supposed to be one book, with the way it is going there is no way Sky couldn’t make it a trilogy. Too much has happened, making this story fit into one book would not do these characters justice. I HATE CLIFFYS, but man I am so glad Sky made this choice. I typically send my reactions to sky as I read but I literally could not focus on anything but this book.

I have been on Sky’s ARC team since In Love with the Devil, and I can promise you I am always left with such a crazy feelings of WTF at the end. I can’t even imagine what will come of this story in the next book. I need that ending.

I am truly honored to be on her ARC team, and to be able to read and review these intense characters.

I will say as I always do, CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. THIS IS NOT A DARK ROMANCE.

This book doesn't just push boundaries—it obliterates them. 🖤

Book 2 in this trilogy dives deep into the psyche of its male main character(s), and experiencing the story through dual MMC POVs adds an even more disturbing, intimate layer that makes everything far more unsettling. You're not just watching the darkness unfold-you're inside it.

This story is visceral in a way that lingers. It's not just
"dark" — every moment of brutality, every ounce of suffering, is intentional. The emotional and physical pain the characters endure is relentless, and heart breaking.

There's no clean escape, no easy relief-just raw, unfiltered survival.

What makes this installment especially powerful is how it explores trauma from the inside out. The MMC perspectives are fractured, and deeply human in the most broken ways. You feel the fear, the desperation, the unraveling—and it stays with you long after you've finished reading.

This is absolutely a trigger-heavy read. Go in prepared, check the content warnings, and know that this story will test your limits.

If you enjoy horror stories, Dark Romance with pitch black themes that dare to take the darkness a few steps further - into the uncomfortable, and the emotionally devastating-this book delivers in a way that's unforgettable.

It's truly incredible the way Sky Blu writes trauma and drags you to the depths while putting you through all the emotions. I will read literally anything she writes.
This is not a romance. It is not for the soft-hearted. Not a horror for casual readers. There is no guarantee of a HEA.

This is pain, survival, and darkness-laid completely bare.

First and foremost, if you are considering reading this story, please make sure you read all trigger warnings beforehand I truly cannot stress that enough.

Sky Blu is a new author to me, and Saving The Angel of Death Vol. 2 is my first read by them. If you know me, I somehow always end up starting series in the middle (completely unintentional 😅), so while I haven’t read Volume 1 yet, I highly recommend starting there. I will definitely be going back to read it myself because after this… I need more.

Sky Blu is an exceptionally talented writer. From page one, I was completely hooked. Their storytelling is immersive, emotionally gripping, and beautifully intense. Not only was this my first read from this author, but it was also my first time diving into this type of storyline and I was absolutely blown away.

The way Sky Blu crafts characters is nothing short of incredible. Killian and Magdalena’s story is deeply heartbreaking and profoundly moving. I found myself completely invested in their journey I felt every emotion right alongside them. I cried more times than I can count, and that alone speaks volumes about the author’s ability to connect with readers on such a raw, emotional level.

This is the kind of story that stays with you long after you’ve turned the last page.

Please note: this story does not guarantee a HEA, and there is a third volume coming so go in emotionally prepared. But if you’re ready for a powerful, unforgettable read, this is absolutely worth it.

Overall, this was an incredible 5-star read, and I cannot wait to see what Sky Blu delivers next.

This was a lot… in the best and most chaotic way. Going into this, I knew it was going to be dark, but this?? It really doesn’t hold back. It picks up that same heavy, unsettling energy and just runs with it. Magdalena’s story is still so intense, and honestly I couldn’t look away even when I wanted to.

What I liked most is how everything starts coming together more. There were so many questions before, and seeing things slowly click into place made it feel worth sticking through all the chaos. The emotional side of it hits hard too. It’s messy, painful, and not even slightly easy, but that’s kind of what makes it stick with you.

And Killian… their connection is still there underneath absolutely everything, even with how twisted and dark things get (and believe me they do) It’s not a soft or easy love story at all, but there’s something about it that keeps pulling you back in.

This book is definitely not for everyone; it’s dark, graphic, and pretty confronting at times but if you’re into stories that really push boundaries and make you feel something (even if it’s being uncomfortable and slightly disturbed), it delivers. I was fully hooked, slightly traumatised, and still thinking about it after finishing… which says everything. Can I also just say that ending?? I was so upset until I remembered this was now a trilogy so I’m already begging for the next book! Please also be aware there are a lot of trigger warnings in this.

Thank you to the Author and The Author Agency for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I thought I couldn’t possibly shatter or become more broken than I was after reading the first part… Thank God these are in parts because I can’t imagine the state I’d be in reading all of these tragic scenes and chapters all in one sitting. Sky Blu definitely knows what she’s doing.. The plot twists & darkness that engulfs you in this volume cannot even begin to be fathomed into words. I sat for 5 hours non stop.. on the edge of my seat.. enraptured to get to the end of it.. it was that addictive. I keep wanting to continue to see the light at the end of the tunnel… I’m always pushed to the edge more & more each chapter. It’s a hard read. It’s tragic & so heartbreaking in the worst ways but for some reason you always want to continue on more hoping the best for the characters.. These characters you find yourself pining for them and wanting them to find their silver lining. I am definitely impressed again with Sky Blu, yet another incredible part of her 1 of 3 volumes. She does not disappoint. I also would like to mention she’s so brave & talented to go out of her comfort zone & write something like this to show more representation to people and children who experienced & experience this to this day. It’s truly inspiring & so moving. I cannot wait for the finalè! & to Stay up all night reading again and sobbing. I highly recommend this, I would say though be very prepared to cry your eyes out & seek therapy after! You will not be the same person after! I definitely am not.

I’m still deciding if I finished this book or if it finished me.

I’m sure that anyone who loved Volume 1 had extremely high hopes for this book, and all I can say is WOW, Sky did not disappoint. I was obsessed with Killian in book 1, but honestly hearing his POV in this story made my heart ache more for him and everything he endured. That poor broken boy never stood a chance with the hand he was dealt, yet he would have burned the world to protect his Magdelena from the moment he first met her. Every emotion was executed perfectly and I felt like my heart was ripping out of my chest at times, feeling every ounce of his pain.

Magdelena is such a unique FMC, kind, beautiful and every bit as in love with Killian as he is with her. But she has her own darkness, a rage that consumes her and she executes perfectly. She has a resilience that only her hope of reuniting with her love keeps her fighting.

Finally we have Tristan, and just when my heart didn’t think it could break any more, his POV cracks open a front row seat to the ugly truth. It is raw, excruciating, violent and at times stomach churning. Nothing is filtered out or softened. We are forced to sit with it, live in it, and it is shattering.

The ending then leaves you gasping, because you realise that you’ve been holding your breath for the longest time. Then more questions come. Questions that only book 3 can answer. I will be impatiently waiting until then 🖤.

I’ve been eagerly waiting for this release, and it totally lived up to my expectations! Sky has a magical way of drawing you into the story and making you feel all the emotions of each character. This book is heart-wrenching, but in the best way possible.

In the first volume, you follow Magdalena’s journey after she loses Killian, her struggles with trauma, her heartbreak, and her new life with Tristan (Sir).

The second volume starts with Killian’s traumatic childhood at the hands of his uncle and Master… and then we meet Tristan (Sir). Living through the trauma he endures at the hands of Master, finding out what shapes him into the man he becomes when he meets Maggie.

You’ll get answers to some of the questions you had in the first volume, but you’ll also discover more that you’ll want to know in the third volume, leaving you on a cliffhanger that’ll have you screaming “WHAT?!”

I’ll admit that there were parts of this book that were incredibly tough to read, but I also found the answers to my questions and the reasons behind the horrible actions in the volume one make you understand why Sir did what he did and acted the way he did towards Maggie. I never thought I’d feel empathy for him, but here we are. My heart is breaking for who they could have been Sir not met Master and had Maggie not met Mael. They both have a strength I do not possess and I cannot wait for volume three to release so we can get more answers.

I want to thank Sky for allowing me to ARC read this series; it is a journey that will live rent-free in my head and heart. Volume three cannot come soon enough.

🖤 My review for Saving The Angel Of Death vol. 2 💔

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
💔💔💔💔💔

First of all this book is DARK so check those TWs!!
Second don't start the trilogy with this book!! Saving the Angel Of Death vol. 1 is the first one where we get Magdalenas POV and it has to be read first!

Pheww this book was so dark and in my opinion darker than the first book. It was so full of heartbreak, trauma and emotions I don't even know how to feel.. And I have so many questions!! I can't wait for the final book in this trilogy!! I need answers and a conclusion to their story. No matter how heartbreaking it will be...
I liked reading it from Killians POV and we get to meet Tristan. Both who are victims. The trauma who shaped them both into what they have become is heartbreaking to read about but it also give an understanding as to why they are as they are..

The book is phenomenal in every sense of the word! Sky has really outdid herself by writing these characters 🖤

That ending though.. An abrupt ending with no answers at all, not a closure in sight for any of the characters and leaves you reeling..

Sky has quickly become one of my favorite authors and this book shows exactly why!
The writing is excellent, the depth of the story and character is mind blowing and you get dragged into the story and it gets a hold of your heart and won't let go..

ARC review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Saving the Angel of Death is one of those stories that doesn’t just break your heart it claims it, drags it through the dark, and dares you to still believe in love afterward.

Killian is a devastating character. His voice carries so much pain, so much trauma, that you feel it in every word. What he endured as a child is horrific, and the way he clung to Magdalena as his only light? It’s the kind of bond that feels raw, desperate, and heartbreakingly pure. She wasn’t just a girl to him—she was hope, innocence, something untouched in a world that tried to destroy him.

Magdalena, through his eyes, feels almost ethereal soft, bright, and completely unaware of the darkness surrounding them. That contrast between her light and his suffering is what makes this story hit so hard. He becomes her protector, her “dragon,” while she unknowingly becomes the only reason he keeps going. There’s something tragically beautiful about a love born in such a brutal place.

What really stands out is the emotional intensity. This isn’t a light read it’s heavy, haunting, and filled with themes of survival, loss, and the kind of love that refuses to die, no matter how broken things become. Killian’s need to protect her, even at the cost of himself, adds a layer of devotion that feels both beautiful and deeply tragic.

📚ARC BOOK REVIEW📚

Saving The Angel of Death Vol. II
By Sky Blu

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
Dark: 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤x ♾️ (Because holy fk)
Recommend: 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽 (absofckinglutely, but only if you like dark and depraved stuff and have no triggers, because seriously this book has so many)

I am without words.

This book...it destroyed me. There is no other way to put it. I am staring at the wall and don't even know where to begin.

Was the book worth being destroyed over? Answer....absolutely.

The struggles that Killian had to go through and the things he did for love will change you completely. He literally destroyed himself. I can't even think of any words to say.

This book was everything and so much more. The ending...it leaves you in a cliffhanger....GAH!!!! Volume III needs to hurry up and get here. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. 😭😭

I would definitely recommend this book, but just know this is not a book of romance. It has dark themes and the trigger warnings are extremely extensive. Please know your limits, because mental health is a serious thing. This is a gothic horror story. Like seriously it is dark af.

Sky has outdone herself with this series. There is no other way to put it.

This is easily one of my favorites series (and authors). If I thought volume 1 destroyed me, this one was no different. It TORE me apart. I’m not sure what I was expecting. I think I was expecting a continuation of that brutallll cliffhanger in volume 1 😩😭. But instead it shocked me by going back to the beginning, this time for Killian… and Tristan (I was NOT expecting that)… and god. My heart shattered for all of them. This story feels embedded into my psyche and I still feel absolutely haunted by all of them. It was hard to read at times, the pain and trauma were absolutely suffocating. But still, I couldn’t stop or put this down for even a second. It had (and has) me absolutely enraptured. Again, the way Sky writes about trauma ALWAYS feels so visceral. Like you’re right there with them. I cannot get any of them out of my head, this entire story is like a disease in my mind. I can tell you with absolute certainty that I have NOOO idea what the fuck is going to happen. Like I am seriously I’m terrified but I NEEED it!!!
At this point I would sell my soul for the rest of this story (I’m kidding…….. maybe).
KILLIAN 💔 MAGDELENA 💔 SIR 💔

I’m also jealous for those get to experience this for the first time. This is one of those series that simply stays with you forever.
