The Girl in the Field

Rate this book
Early in the morning, Agatha walked into the maze-like cornfield.
Delighted by the cool winter air, she loved days like this.
Alone to think and at peace with the world.
But today, she wasn’t as alone as she thought…

In this sleepy countryside town, nothing is ever as it seems.
When the body of a young woman is found in a cornfield, FBI agent Emma Griffin and the gang are sent there to investigate.
Upon arrival, they find strange markings at the scene.

Soon the once-idyllic town plunges into panic, as a string of bizarre deaths emerges with no leads.

Could the deaths be unrelated, or could there be a serial killer on the loose?
Nothing is ever as it seems.
And this small town is about to get an even bigger surprise.

The Girl in the Field (Emma Griffin FBI Mystery Book 38)

OMG!!!!!!!! This book was so over the top amazing. Emma is still working one the Jane Doe case when she gets a call about a school shooting, so she is now working on both cases. She finds the school shooter, but now she has 2 more murders to solve. Talk about crazy, this is crazy. She solves the 2 murders, but still has to take down ring of murderers. Then she gets information that they may have found Doe's family. I can't wait to read the next book.

Again, a greatcread that needs too soon!

I love this series and have read all 38. I look forward to book 38, then 39, 40 and so on.
There was a part of this book that I actually skipped. I have NEVER done that with any book or story. The conversation with Jack's girlfriend was way overdone. I got bored with it and was actually somewhat baffled as to why it was included in this story. A small paragraph would have sufficed, I believe.
That being said, I love your books, Emma and all of your characters.

Murders that look like suicides all over the country...

The story starts with a high school shooter, the FBI agent Emma Griffin gets, brought into that situation as she is still trying to solve the Jane Doe case from the last book. In addition to, and sort of related to the school shooting there are murders that at first look like suicides of many different people all over the country that also have relation to the high school shooting! Is Emma going to be able to figure this out, or is it just going to be one of those cases that cannot be fully resolved?

Like a favorite TV series

The Emma Griffin series is even better than my favorite TV series. Every 7 books starts a new season. And each book is an action-packed episode. You don't NEED to have read every book to enjoy each one, but there are enough references that it's way more fun to be in the know. The way this one ended makes me eager for the next one (as usual). Thank goodness AJ Rivers never makes us wait long.

Exceptional

I've been reading.these books.back to back and am finally caught up. And of course, now Does family is.found. I can't wait to read the next one. The stories are so packed with traumatic scenarios and intriguing people that I just can't put them down. Each book flows from and into the others. So I don't know how this author has all these stories in.her head but they are just amazing from the first book until now.

Emma and her thought processes are fascinating

This case of Emma’s was more complicated than the others-there being multiple things going on at the same time. But still, she plods through all the details like a bloodhound! Ms. Rivers has definitely created a steel trap mind in Emma. As always, ant wait for more!

Absolutely love this book

This whole series is phenomenal. Each one is so hard to put down until you have finished it. You will not be disappointed. They are true page turning from page one and this book it no different. Agent Emma Griffin is caring and tenacious in finding the killer and taking care of the victims to ensure they get justice.

When a school has an active shooter event, Emma is called in to help find the perpetrator. The clues uncover a few different leads, but sifting through them proves difficult with the severity of the situation. Can Emma find the twisted person that decided to do this?

The Dark Web

Rivers does an incredible job of tying multiple plot lines together. At times, the reader may feel "just get on with it." She will, and the reader won't forget.

stories both heartbreaking and horrifying

Just when all plot lines devolve into tropes, along comes a writer able to inject a novel angle into crime and homicide!

It’s time to end this series
The books are getting repetitive and this plot like about Doe is annoying. I find myself skipping whole chapters.

I’ve really liked most of her books though

Just a okay book

There were times I got a little lost on what was going on and may have to try and read the last 2 chapters again.

Love comes in many forms

A story that takes today's tragedies of schools being a killing ground to who am I in this life? Can you just walk away forgetting all those in your past?
