Lady Huntington's thank you notes reflect her feelings as her true love, Lord Gilbert, continues to send her outlandish gifts during the twelve days of Christmas.
Another delight from the astonishingly, first solo exhibition of Helen Oxenbury's work. Also astonishing is that Manghanita Kempadoo was just 11 years old when she wrote the letters from the recipient of the Twelve Days of Christmas gifts... it takes a while before she starts to feel a little overwhelmed and boy does she fall for that partridge. The swans swimming in milk is a lovely touch.
Very cute Christmas gift. The thank you notes written by the recipient of the gifts of "The Twelve Days of Christmas", with humorous illustrations. Silly and fun.
This was a really cute book. My only complaint was that the 12 days were not in order. I loved how she grew so fond of the partridge and of course her fiiiive golden rings! The 12 Days of Christmas is my favorite Christmas song, so this book made me very happy :)

An 11-year-old wrote this? Hats off, Manghanita Kempadoo! Utterly charming and delightful. The illustrations by Helen Oxenbury are STRUNNING. And that little partridge is the sweetest. This one's a keeper.
