Penelope raised her son alone, carrying a secret she swore would never surface again.
The child’s father—Dmitri Volkov—had vanished years ago, believing her dead, leaving behind only scars and a love that curdled into hate. She rebuilt her life in Greece, convincing herself she no longer needed the man who broke her. Until she heard he was getting married.
She should have stayed away. Instead, she returned—to his country, to his world, to the one place she was never meant to exist again. At the wedding, her son tugged at her hand and whispered, “Mommy… who is that uncle?”
Penelope didn’t look at the groom when she answered. “He’s no one important.”
But the moment Dmitri’s eyes found her, everything shattered.
He stared at her like a ghost risen from the grave. Like a woman stolen from him by fate itself. She looked too much like his late wife—too much like a wound that never healed—and Dmitri Volkov was not a man who let mysteries walk away. He refused to let her leave.
Three months. That was the contract. A forced marriage dressed up as protection, possession disguised as curiosity.
In public, he treated her like an inconvenience. In private, he burned with a possessiveness that made her breath hitch and her fear blur with longing. He snapped at other men for touching her. Shielded her with silent violence. And adored her son with a tenderness that terrified her more than his cruelty ever could.
Yet Dmitri remained cold—distant—haunted by secrets he refused to explain. Until the night everything broke. Penelope—his wife. And the woman everyone whispered was his mistress. Both kidnapped. One choice.
And Dmitri Volkov chose… the other woman.
The betrayal shattered Penelope beyond repair. But Dmitri would soon learn the truth too late: Some sins demand a price paid in blood.
O.S Feathers writes dark, twisty love stories about morally questionable men and the fierce, brilliant women who bring them to their knees, sometimes literally. She has a soft spot for arranged marriages, possessive antiheroes, and heroines who know how to shoot or at least threaten with style.
She drinks too much coffee, lives for slow-burn tension, and has never met a knife-to-throat scene she didn’t love. When she’s not writing, she’s probably researching obscure Russian swear words, rewriting a spicy chapter for the third time, or convincing her characters that therapy is not, in fact, the enemy.
If you like your love stories messy, dangerous, and just a little unhinged, she’s got you.
What in the actual fuck was that? What a mess. This story makes no sense. Both main characters are fuckwits. The kid is five, and still he has more sense than both parents put together. What the fuck.
DO NOT READ!!!! Nothing happened, nothing, nothing, nothing If you insist on reading 1 and 2, there’s absolutely no reason to read 3. Same name, same child but hey it’s not my dead wife and son. Child is five but talks like he’s 21. The MCs are so beyond clueless and dumb, it would be an insult to say this was AI. Its disgusting how unnecessary this was, ok you have a contract deadline and had to release something, anyone could have written something better in 24 hours much less AI. NO NO NO

I can’t say I’ve ever rage read 3 books in a series in 4 hours but it’s nearly the end of 2025 I guess I can now. Like…. Wtf. Read at your own peril. I’m filled with rage and writing a review about it so that tells you something. I’m already doubting my 2 star review
are you JOKING? FINALLY a book worth reading and it finally started to get good and to leave me on a cliff hanger like that and not get the next book till march when ill forget the entire plot?! you have to be kidding me
the prologue was AMAZING like wow i really felt for Dmitri there that was such a good intense intro to the book. and the way he wouldn’t remarry because of penelope was just chefs kiss. i almost didn’t continue reading the book because the prologue was that good but can we talk about how the FUCK he didn’t just get a DNA test like who marries someone who looks like their dead wife and not question it? who looks at a 5 year old and not go hmmm he’s the exact age my son should be and he looks EXACTLY like me why don’t i get a hair sample? WHY and the way dmitri softens towards vanya like he knows that’s his kid so why we putting up this little facade?
ERM WHERE IS VANYA. I NEED TO KNOW WHERE VANYA IS
why did Dmitri pick seraphina? why did he send pen TO ALBANIAN TRAFFICKERS? ERM HELLO?! it’s giving onyx storm and not remembering the 24 hours before and waking up married except this time you just got sold to albanian traffickers. WHERE IS VANYA i will not rest until i know where he is and who he is with
was this book good? yes. would i advise reading the first two books just to get to this one? probably not no. but now im too invested to not spiral about what could potentially be happening right now
WHERE IS VANYA
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
i am literally so annoyed at myself for getting invested again right at the very end, personally think this has been dragged on for far to long and there was no need for there to be 4 books but will i be reading the last one? yes because im a sucker
Great story telling as I read Book 1 & 2 cliffy. Book 3 implies cliffy however I suspect there is no book 4 and the cliffy at the end is really the ending - implies he dies and she’s about to be raped by the Albanian gang that kidnapped them. The end 🚮
Disappointing read....books could have been a duet. I'm totally fed up tbh. Bowing out from this author. Not only does the plot seem unnecessarily stretched but this book was full of typos which I reported. Won't be reading anymore of this or them
Im going to go insane. R u having a laugh like im done w the plot alrrr!! Like atp im gonna transport into the book kill dmitri and give Penelope a lobotomy. Im fucking done w ts
What the Fuck! This was the first book of the year, and I’m so furious that it was so incredibly bad. I’m so angry that I wasted my time reading this monstrosity.🤬
