More story, more character development done well, cute and tragic mixed so well together, with a sweet ending going full closure. Ultimately a great story, makes me wish it would be expanded and explored more.
i love you so dearly i'd haunt you through every lifetime just to make sure no one else could ever have you but ME even if i have to kill my reincarnated self at that time

Now we get into Yuuma and Kaito’s childhood and the lives of Touma (past Yuuma) and Hayato (past Kaito). Touma’s love for Hayato was deep enough to get fucked up beyond their lives and well into their next ones:
何度生まれ変わったって どんな「私」でも叶えさせはしない
何度生まれ変わったって どんな「君」でも許しはしない
All Touma wanted was to know why Hayato would betray him and their love, but what he didn’t know was Hayato did try to explain his reasoning. He wrote Touma a letter (granted he admitted he should’ve been strong enough to say it face to face, or even better strong enough to stand by Touma). Unfortunately the letter never got delivered by the servant Hayato gave it to. She decided to give it in the morning but, that very night, Touma went out to go to Hayato and drowned trying to cross a river swollen by the rain.
But even better Hayato finally manifests and he and Touma finally have a long overdue talk (worst case of miscommunication!! Don’t spend several reincarnations just being mad and in love with each other!!) and they’re finally laid to rest. And now Yuuma and Hayato can have makeout sessions WITHOUT any pesky ghosties or former lives getting in the way!
I’m glad of Takomaccho’s approach here where the plot is tied up halfway into volume 2 so we have a nice denouement where Yuuma is tormented by memories of their past lives and their past sexy times in their past lives, and he’s like “IS IT JUST ME?? DOESN’T KAITO FEEL THIS??” (Bestie u don’t know how much Kaito FEELS this, SO MUCH)
Anyway once again: ghosts are A+ wingmen. A ghost comes to Kaito’s apartment, and Kaito accidentally lets it in. It makes itself comfortable but just stares at Kaito and Yuuma whispering “ミセロ” like a creeper.
s2g actual scene:
Kaito: I got an idea so tell me how it reacts Kaito: *shows the ghost something on his phone* Ghost: *PUMPED. MAJOR HYPE* Kaito: *has shown the ghost a porno* Kaito: it looks like … we gotta exercise … Kaito: to exorcise … the ghost Also Kaito:
But dnw Kaito just tickles Yuuma under the covers to trick the ghost. It’s only once the ghost is *ahem* banished that he makes his move, because Kaito is just that sweet.
Anyway the best part is how supportive Yuuma’s mother is of them (she basically gives them her blessing to live together). Also for a minor side character, Yuriko is plenty fun.
