M.P. Anderfeldt believes the best stories are the ones that haunt you long after you've finished reading.
He writes from wherever he happens to be—London, Munich, Barcelona, and a small town in China—fueled by too much coffee and interrupted by cats who have strong opinions about his work. When he's not at his desk, he's probably running, traveling, or both.
After studying in Germany and Spain, he's published with both traditional publishers (Droemer Knaur) and independently, always chasing the same goal: write books he'd want to read.

Riveting

High school angst mixed in with a senior trip gone very wrong. Lord of the flies female version and on the fast track. Who do you trust when even your best friend turns on you.

The book starts out with an absolute banger of an opening chapter, reminiscent of the first scene of LOST. It simultaneously grips you, gives you a sharp impression of our central character, and sets up all that is to come.

Comparisons to LOST continue in the use of flashbacks entwined with the main narrative to show us characters in a different light. These show us how what we see in the present is has been shaped by the past.

And there is a bit of Hunger Games in there as well, as the book takes place entirely from the point of view of the central character - no omniscient narrator butting in, no switching to other viewpoints - just the tunnel vision of one person fighting against their own past, their own psyche, and external threats.

I just wish it had been longer so I could still be reading it.

One peculiarity. There is a 'content note' warning that the book contains distressing themes including death, grief, gun violence, drowning, blood, and so on. It says that if you are sensitive to these topics, take care when reading. This note, however appears at the end of the book, at least in my edition, so by that time you have already read the book. Also, it does not mention the unseen - but still brutal - rape that takes place.

Great book

I really liked this book. It was an easy and fast read. The pacing was great and it was written in a way that was easy to imagine the scenery. Definitely reading book 2.

Captivating from the start and the adventure continues to hold interest throughout. Past and present processing comes together in a quest for survival. Potential rescue and circumstances yield secrets and conquests that surprisingly lead to wanting more and a continuation to part two.

No island vacation for me.

I enjoyed the characters and storyline of this novel. It may be a little more fantasy than truth but an interesting story, none the less. Strong girls figure things out. Also, get a better idea of who they all really are. Good read.

The ten days to survive

The ten days to survive was excellent reading. Solving one challenge to the next challenge. Survival is the only thing that matters. I liked this book.
