5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Storyline

This is hard to describe what I didn't like about this read because I found it was an absolute brilliant read .
At times very emotional and then it had me
On the edge of my seat.

Moonlit secrets. Forbidden magic.

One human healer who shouldn’t cross my border—yet walks straight into my arms. Fate binds us, power tempts us, and every Nightborne law blazes red warning.

I rule the shadows as King, wolf-shifter crowned in fear and prophecy.

She’s all sunlight and danger, trespasser with hands that heal wounds and a touch that burns my control to ash.

The sigil on her skin glows like destiny—an ancient mark no one dares speak of.

The council circles, teeth bared, demanding her blood.

The scent of rebellion stirs old ghosts. Her magic calls to mine and I can’t let her go.

One stolen night, our bond snaps tight. Mating magic crackles.

The world tips from order to chaos.

The Hidden Queen rises, and every secret hungers to break the surface.

The moon pulls us together, but kingdoms shatter when hearts ignite.

MoonBound Heir absolutely captivated me from start to finish. The opening chapter pulled me right into Celine’s dangerous, magical world, and I couldn’t look away. The writing is vivid and cinematic—the forest scenes, the tension, and the chemistry between Celine and Marcellus all felt so alive that I could practically hear the rustle of the trees and feel the pulse of their connection. Dawn Parkinson (writing as Daisy Grace) weaves mystery, romance, and fantasy together seamlessly, creating a story that’s both emotional and edge-of-your-seat intense.

What I loved most was how the story balanced power and vulnerability—the slow-burn bond between the two leads, the unraveling secrets of Celine’s past, and the rich worldbuilding kept me hooked the entire way through. It’s the perfect mix of danger, destiny, and heart, and by the end, I was completely invested in their journey. A stunning, beautifully written fantasy romance that left me craving the next installment!.

MOONBOUND HEIR by Dawn Parkinson is my introduction to this author. I really liked the plot and characters, but felt the story was too long.

A prophecy of a hidden queen that may or may not destroy a kingdom.  A king that is unsettled but doesn't know why until he meets a healer. Their meeting will start a war for a kingdom, awaken old malignant magic that may devour everything. There will be battles to win, dark magic to conquer, and a kingdom to rebuild. All this will have you wanting to know what's next.

What bothered me was the long descriptions of scenery, personal feelings, etc. At times, I felt the scene transitions and flow of the story were out of step. I did feel the 400 pages were a little too long for this story.

SO disappointed, one review called it a brilliant read!??? I don’t think we were reading the same book. Several!!!!! Chapters insidious, malevolent, and profound are used in every other paragraph .

Scenes and time sequences jumped from one time frame to another without coordination or explanation - references to time goes from less than 24 hours to several days and then several weeks. Too many gaps in storyline, no cohesive flow!!

Almost felt as if there was a portal from one battle to another yet again no flow or explanation and some characters just came and went then came back without distinction of plot ramifications.

Seems like copy and paste were used in everything from descriptions to dialogue.

Now I repeat myself- SO DISAPPOINTING!

3-1/2 stars. I like a lot of the book and Celine. She is the strongest FMC I've seen in a fantasy novel. The story is well-written. My problems with it are transitional scenes do not have a smooth flow , and the dialogue with some characters is repetitive at times. It is too long of a story for me.

This was pretty good. It had good romance and good moments that were mysterious and it kept me coming back. It’s got so many great things going for it that it’s a must read.

I liked the idea, but the story was told with too many repeats of what was said earlier. It was just repeat after repeat. Was this the way to make reach a certain number of words? Needs work.
