Cowboys of Devil's Ditch - Books 1 - 3: Trig, Colt & Bray

Rate this book
The West just got Wilder! Meet the cowboys of Devil’s Ditch, Montana, one steamy, instalove story at a time. This volume includes Trig, Colt and Bray.

I’m a rodeo champ. I live for the eight second rush astride an angry bull. But now I live for her. The One I save from a Montana blizzard.
Stranded together, I make her mine.
When danger arrives on my front porch, I protect what’s mine.
But how do I protect the woman I love if I don’t know who she really is?

She’s The One. The one who got away.
After a steamy encounter at the rodeo, I thought I’d never see her again. I’ve been given a second chance when I discover she’s the new doctor in town. I do everything I can to make her mine, but she resists. It makes no sense, until I learn the truth of her past. I won’t let her escape again, even if I have to handcuff her to my bed.

I’ve known her for years… but it’s time to make her mine. My little sister’s best friend needs my help, to be her fake boyfriend.
Fake? Nothing’s fake with her. She feels it, too, but can’t understand why I finally want her after all this time. I’d take the time to prove it, but someone’s out to hurt her. That means she’s mine now whether she likes it or not.

These short reads are MF with a guaranteed spicy HEA. While they are standalone, it’s best to read them in order.

I am feral. I am unwell. I am obsessed. Vanessa Vale really said “here, have three cowboys who will ruin your life in the best way possible” and I just LET HER. This whole trilogy is like being wrapped in a warm Montana blanket… that’s on fire… with lust and danger and every delicious small-town trope known to man.

Trig (Book 1):

TRIG. MY GOD. This man rode straight out of a blizzard and directly into my heart like he was roping it for sport. Ellie stumbling into his life (and his cabin 👀) was the exact storm I wanted. Stranded together? YES. He falls first? YES. Rodeo champ with a soft, obsessive underbelly? DOUBLE YES.
The way he protects her, cherishes her, claims her… I was kicking my feet like a teenager. Mistaken identity? Runaway bride? Damsel in distress? It’s like Vanessa opened my brain and used it as a checklist. This short read is pure adrenaline, pure fantasy, pure cowboy magic. I devoured it like it was the only food source in that blizzard.

Colt (Book 2):

Colt and Molly??? PERFECTION. ACTUAL PERFECTION.
This man waited YEARS. ONE night with her at the rodeo and he kept the memory like a tattoo on his soul. And when she arrives as the new doctor in town? He doesn’t just fall first—he falls HARDEST.
He’s the sheriff. She’s the doc. He’s obsessed. She’s scared of her past. And when he learns what she’s running from?? This man does NOT hesitate. I swear he would handcuff her to his bed just to keep her safe and I would simply applaud.
Chemistry? Off the charts. Emotions? Every-freaking-where. Spicy HEA? Delivered piping hot.

Bray (Book 3):

Lord help me, Bray may actually be my favorite.
Best friend’s older brother? ✔️
He falls first? ✔️
Fake boyfriend that is absolutely not fake? ✔️
Damsel in distress AND ugly duckling glow-up? Vanessa did NOT have to spoil me like this.
Bray has been quietly pining for YEARS and when Katie needs him? He steps up so hard I swear my Kindle blushed. The protectiveness, the devotion, the “you’ve always been mine even if you didn’t know it”—

Overall? IMMACULATE.

These books are short, spicy, fast-paced, and filled with enough cowboy charm to make me want to move to Devils Ditch immediately and throw myself at the nearest rancher.
The vibes? Immaculate.
The spice? Generous.
The heroes? Menace-to-society levels of devoted.
The HEAs? Chef’s kiss.

If you love small towns, obsessed cowboys, danger, devotion, and heroines who get swept off their feet in every possible way… THIS SERIES IS YOUR NEW PERSONALITY.

Vanessa Vale, I salute you. And fear you. And need more immediately. 🤠🔥

Thank you so much to Vanessa Vale & Greys Promotion for this ARC!!

The Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch
This fun and flirty cowboy romance series packs in all the fan-favorite tropes—forced proximity, second-chance romance, fake dating, and best friend’s brother—so there’s truly something for everyone.

Trig & Elle
Elle, a runaway bride, ends up stranded in a Montana snowstorm while fleeing an arranged marriage. Trigg, a retired rodeo star, rescues her and brings her to his cabin until the storm passes. Cozy forced proximity, snowy tension, and undeniable chemistry—what’s not to love?

Colt & Molly
After a one-night stand with the town’s new doctor, Colt decides it’s time to leave his wild streak behind. Their story shines because of the solid character growth and the way they balance personal struggles while trying to build something real.

Bray & Katie
Katie has known Bray forever—being best friends with his sister will do that. But when she ropes him into being her fake boyfriend, feelings escalate fast. It’s technically a brother’s-best-friend romance, but the warmth of their dynamic gives it a strong friends-to-lovers vibe.

Thank you to Vanessa Vale and Grey’s Promo for the e-ARC.

I hadn’t met an instalove book yet, until these. I’ll break them down individually. These were short, sweet, and spicy!!!

Because this was my first instalove, I definitely had to mentally prepare as I read. Trig’s story came first, he’s a cowboy fresh off the rodeo, considering retirement. Without giving too much away, his story was not my favorite. But it was quick so I kept reading through, and like I said because it was my first one, the whole premise of him meeting Ellie threw me because she was basically a popsicle that he fell in love with. His use of the word sugar, and just how he had her in his home gave me a little ick (maybe that’s a me thing) But I found him to be like a bit creepy?

By the time we got to Colt I was more prepared for the trope. I really enjoyed Colt’s story and the twists and turns that came with it. His relationship with Molly just felt more organic. (She had more of a choice here).

Bray’s story was interesting and ended on this cliffhanger that makes me want to keep reading these just to find out what’s going on in this small town!!

Tropes, etc:
Protective Hero, Forced Proximity Small Town Romance, It’s Always Been You, Instalove, Cowboy Romance

Wooo, am I glad I got to read the first Volume with three books in it, instead of these on their own. When I tell you this was the perfect lunch time read, I mean this was short, sexy, and super-fast paced. They do need to be read in order as they flow from one story to the next. Expect loads of drama, and even more naughty bits. While I don't normally care for super short stories, I didn't mind as much in this form. I give this 4 stars.

Welcome to the Devil’s Ditch—where a whole new breed of cowboys is about to fall fast, fall hard, and fall for the one person who turns their world upside down.

TRIG
When Ellie’s father insists on forcing her into a marriage she doesn’t want, she makes the only choice she can—she runs. But when the car breaks down in the middle of a snowstorm, she abandons it and continues on foot, unprepared for the brutal cold. Exhausted and freezing, she collapses.

On their way home, Trig and his brother spot the abandoned vehicle on the side of the road. Following the faint trail of footprints through the snow, they find Ellie just in time. Trig brings her back to his place, and the moment he lays eyes on her, something shifts inside him. With a bad knee already pushing him out of the rodeo circuit, he suddenly sees a new future—and it includes Ellie.

But Ellie’s father is already out there searching for her, and if Trig wants that future, he’ll have to face the danger heading straight for his doorstep.

COLT
Following next is Trig’s brother, Colt, who was with him the night Trig suffered the injury that ended his rodeo career. Colt remembers that night for another reason, too—Molly. They’d hooked up briefly, sparks flying fast and hot, and promised to meet later. But Colt never made it back in time.

Since then, neither has forgotten the other, though they parted without exchanging names—just a powerful connection.

Months later, fate steps in.

During a routine meeting in his role as Sheriff, Colt walks into the coroner’s office… and there she is. Molly. The woman he’s replayed in his mind too many times. And this time, he isn’t letting her slip away. Not without learning everything about her—and sharing just as much.

But Molly doesn’t stay in one place long. She’s always on the move, forced into chaos by her sister, whose destructive behaviour has shattered Molly’s life more than once. This time, though, Molly isn’t alone.

Because Colt is done letting her disappear.
And he’ll make damn sure no one—not even her past—ever hurts her again.

BRAY
This story follows Katie—a young woman scraping by after the loss of her grandparents—and Bray, the quietly devoted brother of her best friend, who’s loved her from afar for years.

The book shines brightest in its emotional vulnerability. Katie’s struggle feels real and grounding; her exhaustion, financial stress, and deep loneliness. When a tense moment at her bar job forces her to seek help from Bray, the story shifts into a tender, protective romance that feels both comforting and electric.

His decision to “pretend” to be Katie’s boyfriend, all while clearly not pretending at all, adds a delicious tension. Their chemistry is palpable, and the narrative does an excellent job exploring the long-held feelings simmering beneath the surface.

Readers will love the protective heroes and heroines who learn to trust again; these stories will deeply satisfy all readers of Vanessa Vale.

Was gifted an ARC of this book and offered an honest review.

Get your horses and saddles ready friends; the Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch have arrived. In this book we have the first three books in the series, Trig, Colt and Bray. Each can be read as a standalone in an interconnected series, but as always I recommend reading them in order to get the most out of them. These books have been out for some time, and re-releases as a bundle set.

We start the bundle off with Trig and Elle. Elle is on the run from her father who is forcing her into an arranged marriage (and not the fun kind). When she breaks down in a major Montana snowstorm, Trig finds her and rescues her. Now Trig is dealing with his own drama, on medical leave after suffering a severe injury in the last rodeo, he’s at a crossroads in his life. When he comes upon Elle, every protective instinct comes alive. He will risk it all to keep her safe from her father and insure she has the life she wants, Trig just hopes that life will be with him. Their story is quick and well paced, spicy and fun, a great way to kick the series off.

We then move on to Colt and his second chance with Molly. A one night stand with the town's new Doctor sends the pair of them on a journey of new discovery and love. Molly however is dealing with some drama from her crazy sister and when Colt learns about it, he of course offers to step in and help. Colt and Molly’s story had a little more character development than the first in the series, so I liked it just a little bit more. As the story comes to a head Colt and Molly fight for what they have found in one another and who knows, maybe a one night stand can lead to more after all.

Into the third addition to the series we have Bray and Katie. This is more of a slow burn romance with a little bit of fake dating tossed in to spice things up. Katie and Bray have known each other for years, as Bray’s sister's best friend he’s seen her grown up. When Katie asks him to play her fake boyfriend, he agrees and not so slowly starts to realize he doesn’t see her as his sister’s bestie, he sees her as a woman. His woman. This one was a really cute story and felt more like two friends finaling realizing they are in love with one another after being friends for so long. Spice is there, characters are there, overall a good addition to the series.

The Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch continues still so make sure you get the next book in the series. For those readers that love a good, cozy, spicy cowboy romance, these books will check all your boxes.

Cowboys of Devil's Ditch (Books 1–3: Trig, Colt & Bray)

Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch is utterly bingeable. This bundle delivers three sweet, spicy, fast-paced romances with irresistible, protective cowboys and all the small-town charm you could wish for. Each story flows seamlessly into the next, making it easy to devour the entire series in one sitting.

This series has it all: instalove, humor, heat, protective heroes, and just enough suspense to keep things exciting. It’s also the perfect introduction to the Wilder family—eight sons and one daughter—each ready to steal your heart.

If you crave small-town western romances with swoon-worthy cowboys, emotional depth, and just the right amount of suspense, Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch is impossible to put down.

Trig – Book 1

Ellie is running from her father and an arranged marriage. When her car breaks down in a Montana blizzard, she’s stranded—until Trig Wilder, a broody rodeo champion recovering from a serious injury, finds her. He instantly goes into protective mode, becoming obsessed (in the best way) and determined to love and keep her safe at all costs. Their chemistry ignites immediately, the banter is delightful, and the Wilder family’s warmth makes Ellie feel right at home. A thrilling, addictive start to the series.

Colt – Book 2

Colt never expected to see Molly again after their steamy one-night stand at the rodeo—until she returns as the town’s new doctor. When he discovers she’s running from her abusive sister, his protective instincts kick into overdrive. Their dynamic is electric, full of vulnerability, tension, and sizzling chemistry. Colt is the perfect mix of sheriff, cowboy, and alpha with a soft heart, making their story emotional, spicy, and impossible to put down.
.
.
Bray – Book 3

Bray has known Katie for years, but now he sees her in a whole new light—and he wants her. When Katie needs a fake boyfriend, Bray steps in—but his feelings are anything but fake. Their connection is tender, intense, and beautifully messy, with just enough suspense to keep the stakes high. Bray’s possessive, protective side shines, making this a perfect mix of heat, heart, and tension.

📚 ARC REVIEW 📚
Cowboys of Devil's Ditch 1–3 by Vanessa Vale
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)

Thank you, @greyspromo, for providing an ARC!

This edition bundles the first three novellas in the Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch series: Trig, Colt, and Bray — three quick, spicy, cowboy-obsessed hits.

In Trig, Ellie is running from the disgusting man her father plans to marry her off to in exchange for clearing his gambling debts. Caught in a snowstorm, she would’ve frozen if cowboy Trig hadn’t found her. He’s instantly hooked and ready to face down her father and awful fiancé to make her his.

In Colt, newly transplanted ER doctor Molly is stunned to discover the sheriff is the same man she had a steamy closet hookup with at a rodeo months ago — the same man who told her to meet him later and then vanished. Now that she’s in his town, Colt is determined to prove he’s worth sticking around for.

In Bray, Katie has always had a crush on her best friend’s older brother. When she’s harassed at work, she turns to Bray for protection. Their fake dating doesn’t stay fake once Bray has her in his sights.

These interconnected but standalone novellas deliver fast-paced, high-spice, and a touch of suspense — perfect when you want something quick and delicious.

Trig is a fantastic intro to the massive Wilder clan (nine kids!). His dirty-talking, possessive cowboy energy is addictive, and it’s instantly clear why Ellie falls for him.

Colt features my favorite heroine. Molly is a badass ER doctor/medical examiner who knows exactly what she wants: sexy sheriff Colt. The finger crook across the rodeo? The closet hookup?? The handcuffs??? Truly elite scenes.

Bray ended up being my top story. I’m a sucker for the best-friend’s-older-brother-finally-sees-her trope. Katie’s ugly-duckling glow-up and Bray’s “you’ve always been gorgeous” energy melted me.

I’ll definitely keep going with this series. I need Lainey (the only Wilder daughter) and Beau’s story ASAP.

For fans of:

What a fantastic collection of three cowboys who bring the heat. Vanessa Vale always give us intense chemistry and heat with Alpha males who know what they want and make it happen.
The first book is Trig- Trig is a bull rider who is trying to decide whether to retire or continue with the Rodeo Circuit. While driving home in a storm he sees Ellie walking frozen from the storm. His decision is instantly made. Ellie is on the run from a terrible situation and is scared. When She finds herself with Trig things feel different. This book is a quick read but filled with so much that you can't help but wish there was more. The instant connection, steam and slight bit of mystery really bring it all together.
Colt- When he spots her across the arena, he knows she is the one. Colt is the sheriff and when he is trying to figure out if their small town has a murder amongst them the new DR. brings back a connection that he thought he had lost forever. Molly is new to town and when she sees Colt again mixed feeling happen, she feels embarrassed and that he intentionally ghosted her. I loved how he takes charge to show her how he feels. These two have an amazing chemistry and when things get wacky with her sister, he is understanding wand wants to take care of her.
Bray- Katie has been his sister's best friend forever but it takes one night at the bar for him to truly see her and decide that she is his. Katie has been trying to do everything for herself not wanting to rely on anyone. When she finally turns to him for help, he is there. Bray and Katie have sweet moments that will melt your heart as well. Katie has a low self-esteem and perspective on herself that Bray has no problem showing her is false. All three books are a great read full of steam, possessive, protective alphas and slight mystery that give them that little edge. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Average rating 3.5 stars.

Trig 4 stars:
Okay I can happily say this is the first insta love/obsessed I have enjoyed! The way this man calls her sugar...ugh I love him. And his 8 siblings and his parents are literally the cutest - I loved the tight knit family dynamic.

*Snowed in/forced proximity
*Age gap
*Cowboy
*Breeding kink
*Insta obsession

Colt 2.5 stars:
2.5 stars. Okay unfortunately I did not enjoy this one as much as the first. I love a posessive man and the fact they had instant attraction across the arena, had a one night stand only to find each other 6 months later through work.
The story just didn't grip me as much and it was inconsistent, there was things he had told her earlier on in the book and then later she would act like it didn't. E.g. when they reconnected at the coroner's office, he told her his name was Colt Wilder then later in the book she said to him "i don't even know your first name" even though he had told her prior. There was also another instance where he said he had 8 siblings then later when he told her again she was so shocked as if he hadn't already told her.

*Second chance
*Sheriff x doctor
*Insta love
*He falls first

Bray 4 stars:
I loved this! I think the whole series premise is that it is insta love/obsession so as soon as they look at their girl they know. This was a best friend's brother romance and I loved it! Katie is being harassed by a man in a bar so begs Bray to pretend to be her boyfriend by whispering in his hair, kissing him and grinding on his lap lol. He instantly decides at that moment she is his. I love the way his whole family take her on as their own and want to help her. The ending on that cliffhanger though WHAAAT.

*best friend's brother
*childhood friends
*insta obsessed
*he falls first
*virgin fmc
*independent fmc
*found family

Trig is at a crossroads in his life. A possible career-ending injury might have his bull riding days over. Trig finds Ellie out in a blizzard and brings her home. He instantly feels a connection with her. Ellie is on the run from her father and his crony Mr. Trout. Trout paid off her father's gambling debts in exchange for Ellie. So, she ran until she found Trig. The chemistry between them was great and the spice was really hot.

Colt sees a woman at the rodeo and they end up in a closet. A misunderstanding leads to him not knowing anything about her. But six months later, while investigating a possible murder, there she is. The medical examiner Molly Simon. Molly has to keep running from place to place to avoid her sister. She has feelings for Colt but she's afraid. This was hot right out of the gate. Best Friend's Brother is one of my favorite tropes. Katie has had a crush on her BFFs brother for years but he sees her as just his sister's friend, right? Katie has a lot of pressure financially happening and she is working at a roadside dive. After a handsy customer, Katie ends up with Bray as her fake boyfriend. Bray has had a thing for Katie since he came home from college but you don't hit on your sister's friend right? I loved this spicy one.

**Hot Cowboy Collection!**

Get ready to dive into the "Cowboys of Devi’s Ditch" series with the first three books featuring the Wilder brothers—three charming and possessive cowboys who fall head over heels for the incredible women who steal their hearts!

**Trig** - Meet Trig, a bull rider who never thought he’d find his happily ever after (HEA) until he comes to Ellie’s rescue during a blizzard. She’s trying to escape her father's ranch, and that’s when everything changes for both of them!

**Colt** - Then there’s Colt, who thought he’d lost Molly forever after their unforgettable one-night stand. He accidentally ghosted her before they could even exchange names! Now that Molly is back as the new ER doctor, Colt is ready to make his move and won’t let her slip away again.

**Bray** - And we can’t forget Bray, who has always seen Katie as his little sister’s best friend—completely off-limits. But when Katie asks him to play the role of her fake boyfriend, it shakes things up and brings out feelings Bray never knew he had. Katie has always been right there, but now he’s starting to wonder why he didn’t see her before!

Each of these delightful, instalove cowboy romances is wonderfully written, making it super easy to get lost in the stories. You might find yourself binge-reading all three couples in one go! With plenty of spice, drama, and strong, protective alpha males, this collection is a true gem. I’m already hoping for the next set of books to binge on—I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Wilder gang has in store!

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a nice collection of steamy cowboy romances, and I am excited to see where the rest of the series takes us. It did take me the first two stories to really get a feel for Devil's Ditch, but I've enjoyed each book more than the last, so I'm hoping the trend continues! My thoughts for each book individually are below:

Trig - 2 Stars
Trig was a bit too overpossessive for me. Especially over a girl he didn't even know. It came across as a bit creepy. He was too quick with calling her "mine," and it just led to a lot of internal cringing. With that being said, the spice was spicy, and I liked Ellie's runaway bride aspect. Her dad sucks, so I did appreciate Trig's desire not to let her anywhere near him!

Colt - 3 Stars
Colt was a bit too insta-lovey for me. The chemistry and spice between him and Molly, however, was so good, and I really enjoyed it! Molly's abusive sister was way too easily able to impersonate her, and I didn't personally enjoy that aspect of the story.

Bray - 4 Stars
I really enjoyed Bray and Katie's love story. I thought their fake-dating was fun, and the fact that they've been around each other for years, but neither was bold enough to make the first move. I thought it was sweet that Bray looked out for Katie's safety and wasn't overly possessive with Katie when their relationship was first starting.

Overall, I am really starting to enjoy this series. I feel like I'm getting a better understanding of more characters as I get through each book, and I am excited to continue reading.

Thank you to Grey's Promotions and Vanessa Vale for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

If you love dirty-talking cowboys who will move heaven and earth for the women they call “mine,” then Vanessa Vale has delivered the ultimate treat. She’s wrapped her first three Devil’s Ditch cowboys—Trig, Colt, and Bray—into one blazing-hot bundle, giving readers triple the spice and triple the swoon in The Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch: Books 1–3.

We kick off with Trig, the rodeo champ with a protective streak a mile wide. When he rescues the beautiful Ellie, their chemistry is instant—but danger doesn’t stay away for long. Trig might know she’s the one, but learning who Ellie truly is—and stepping up when threats close in—is where this love story burns brightest.

Just when you catch your breath, along comes Colt. His second-chance romance with Molly is packed with steam, heat, and a dash of mystery. One electrifying encounter at a rodeo changed everything for him, but a misunderstanding tore them apart. Now she’s back in town. Will Molly forgive him? If not… well, let’s just say this small-town sheriff has a pair of handcuffs and isn’t afraid to use them.

Then comes Bray, delivering a friends-to-lovers storyline that hits straight in the heart. Katie—his best friend’s little sister—completely stole the show for me. Sweet, strong, and so deserving of her HEA, she and Bray had me rooting for them from page one. Of the three, this was the most emotional and utterly satisfying.

Three cowboys. Three steamy novellas. One explosive, addictive collection. What more could you possibly want?

If your vibe is instalove, cutesy, big burly cowboys, and quick reads. These books are for you!!! These men know what they want and INSTANTLY go after it. No hesitation, no questions, just one look and your theirs 🤤. Talk about quick love and a breeding kink 😂. These men had the best example of love and know that when the right one comes along, you make sure not fumble the opportunity 🖤.

The first book is Trig Wilder (oldest brother) and Ellie. This man literally saves her and claims her in less than 24 hours!!!! Poor Ellie has had a crappy hand dealt to her by her father and runs away in hopes of out running the problem. Trig and his bull rider muscles save her and help her discover the family she deserves to have!!!

The second book is Colt (next brother) and Molly. Rodeo quickie with no exchange of names. Lost opportunity to connect 😉 some more. She ends up as the new town doctor and of coarse they realize who they are. In true Wilder fashion he knows that’s his girl and nothing will stop him from having her 🤤. She’s got a little plot twist so be prepared!!

The third book is Bray and Katie (Lainey’s best friend). They’ve grown up together but it all changes when she needs him to pretend to be her boyfriend. Independent girl but craves to have help and someone to take care of her! Everyone supports her and Bray makes it clear that he’s in it for the long haul.

These three men had me all hot and heavy so be prepared 😂.

I got this as an ARC!

Trig found a woman lost in a blizzard. Colt was instantly drawn to a woman at a rodeo. Bray did not have to look far for his perfect match. Have you met the cowboys of Devil Ditch?

This is part of a series where each book is about a brother in the family (and maybe eventually their sister?). I read a copy where it included the first three stories. I am going to review them each below.

Trig’s story: I liked this one. I felt it was a little aggressive/caveman at times, but ultimately I enjoyed it. I love when a man just knows and goes after what he wants. You have to be a fan of instalove for this one. Definitely would be some red flags in real life, but in book land it worked. Spice was nice. 4 stars ⭐️

Colt’s story: I really enjoyed this one! I felt it had the best mix of spice and action. Also, a hot cop handcuffing you to apologize? Perfection. The storyline had the most meat to it. The spice was very, very nice. Colt can come protect me whenever he wants. Five stars ✨

Bray’s story: I also really enjoyed this one! Katie is his sister’s best friend and he overlooked her for years until it hit him. I was so happy for Katie to finally get what she deserved. I felt this one was the shortest but Brayden felt like the hottest so far. I love a protective man plus one who walks you through it. Five stars ✨

Overall, I cannot wait to read more of the stories about these brothers. If the first three’s spice level is any indication, I might melt!

Thank you Vanessa Vale and Grey's Promotions for this series. I have never been so conflicted in my life about a set of books. I hated but loved them at the same time? I think Trig's book was my least favorite with Bray's being my favorite (the cliffhanger like damn man wtf).

I am not an insta lovey girl. I wish I was but I am definitely not. I want the yearning, the dating, the will they finally please tell each other they love each other phases of books. I was definitely intrigued by these books because I couldn't stop reading them. The suspense and plot was great in every single book (and I loved how it connected to the other books) but it was overshadowed by the possesiveness of these men. Like give me more of the plot in the forefront, please and thank you. Don't get me wrong I love possessive men but I felt icky sometimes with what Trig specifically said. I also hated that all they mentioned about their women was sex. Like there was nothing else they thought about but sex and that just give insta lusty not insta lovey. Like I am pretty sure men think of other things other than sex so please give me that. It got better with Colt and Bray but I just couldn't with Trig.

With that being said, I am going to continue to read the rest of the Devil's Ditch series because I am addicted and I want to know more about that freaking cliffhanger.

🔥 Welcome to Devil’s Ditch, population: cavemen 🔥

3.5 ⭐️ | 4.25 🌶️

If you’re in the mood for pure, unfiltered Western smut, with a side of growly, possessive cowboys who imprint like baby ducks, Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch (Books 1–3) is exactly the ride you’re looking for. Vanessa Vale delivers three instalove novellas (Trig, Colt, and Bray) that waste zero time before diving into the heat. These men take one look at their heroines and go full “Mine,” and honestly? It’s kind of delicious. 😏

This collection isn’t pretending to be something it’s not. Plot? Light. Pace? Lightning fast. Spice? Abundant. These are quick, hot, unapologetically steamy reads meant to entertain, arouse, and let you live in that fantasy where the cowboy of your dreams storms in, throws you over his shoulder, and vows to keep you forever.

Each novella hits its instalove beats with gusto: snowstorm rescues, second-chance heat, fake-dating turned very real (very fast). If you’re looking for emotional slow burns or deeply layered world-building, this ain’t it. But if you want a bingeable escape filled with rugged men and the women who derail their entire existence? Saddle up. 😉

Huge thanks to Grey’s Promotions for the e-ARC, and congrats to Vanessa Vale on these sinfully fun releases!

As a whole:
-all are territorial alpha males who all fall first. -Each story, to me, seemed about 50% spice and 50% plot.
-They are all novellas combined into one set and so for what they are they are good.
-They are definitely meant to be quick, easy reads that don’t have a lot of world building and backstory details. You get the basic info needed to set the tone and that’s it.
-each story is a bit suspenseful and angsty.
-not normally the type of reads that I would choose as far as the possessive, alpha males, who seems to barely give their ladies a choice once they decided they were “theirs” - so I have pretty mixed feelings about the novella set overall.
-I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it.

Book 1 - Trig
Lots of spice. Age gap.
Huge alpha male -literally and figuratively.
Claimed Ellie as his immediately upon finding her. A bit too much on the your mine, alpha male, possessive, territorial scale for me personally.

Book 2 Colt- strangers to lovers. Sheriff mmc. Doctor fmc. I enjoyed Colt’s character. You get spice right away in their story.

Book 3 Bray- Best friend’s brother, fake dating romance. Was my favorite of the 3. I enjoyed Bray’s character as well. Does have a plot twist there at the end.

Trig – When Ellie is being forced into a future she doesn’t want her only thought was escape, which has placed her in danger until Trig comes to her rescue. From the moment that Trig sees Ellie he knows that they are meant to be together and he is protective, possessive and determined to not let anyone come between them.

Colt – From the moment that Colt saw Molly the sparks fly until they are separated by unexpected event. Months later Molly moves to town for her job as a doctor where she reunites with Colt and learns about what derailed their relationship. As the chemistry continues to escalate between them Colt is determined to protect her and convince her to give him a second chance.

Bray – Katie doesn’t have a lot of people to depend on so when she finds herself trying to evade the attentions of a determined patron she approaches her best friend’s brother Bray for help. Bray hasn’t pursued his feelings for Katie but that changes when pretending to be her boyfriend leads to him claiming her for real.

It is great to have the first three stories of these series in one collection as they take us on a journey that includes heat, emotions and a little suspense.

ARC Review: Thank you to Vanessa Vale and Greys Promo for sending me an advanced copy of The Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch, novellas 1-3. (Trig, Colt, and Bray)

I really enjoyed the first three novellas in this series. Each one has aspects of romantic suspense and insta-love. Trig, Colt, and Bray are brothers from a large family who want to find the kind of love their parents have. Each brother had been kind of wandering aimlessly until one fell into his lap. If you’re looking for something short, spicy, and full of banter between brothers, I recommend these novellas. I loved the romantic suspense that was woven in between.

Trig was on the fence about retiring from Bull riding until he saved Ellie from a snowstorm when she was on the run from her father. Once he had her, there was no letting her go.

Colt and Molly had a hot night together at the rodeo, and a miscommunication led her to think that he had ghosted her. Once she arrives in Devil’s Ditch, there’s no way he’s letting her go again.

Katie asked Bray to pretend to be her boyfriend to get a creepy customer to leave her alone at the bar where she worked. Turns out she and Bray both had feelings for each other for years.

Well, dang. If you love quick, steamy cowboy reads with possessive men who know exactly what they want, this collection is so your lane. This collection of Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch gives us Trig, Colt, and Bray—three instalove stories packed with heat, danger, and that classic Vanessa Vale intensity.

🤎Trig is your bull-riding, blizzard-rescuing hero who goes from “eight-second rush” to “I live for her” real fast.
🤎Colt brings the second-chance tension, and yes, the handcuff line is exactly as unhinged and wonderful as it sounds.
🤎Bray delivers the forbidden, sister’s-best-friend, fake-dating goodness with a protective streak that does not play.

These are fast, filthy, fun reads—with guaranteed spicy HEAs—and absolutely worth reading in order so you can enjoy the full Devil’s Ditch experience.

Tropes:
🤠 Instalove
🔥 Spicy HEA
❤️‍🔥 Protective heroes
🩺 Second chance
❄️ Snowed in
🧪 Fake dating
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Sister’s best friend

Trig

I was mentally prepared for an instalove guy. Even a possessive one. But I wasn't prepared for an instalove family. And it's great! Exactly what Ellie needed. To feel wanted. Plus Trig is in a nother level. Ownership, desire, dirty talk, protective, caring. The whole package. This is a short spicy story with a bit of mystery included. Because it's not over when you think it's over.

Colt

Colt's intensity in this book is strong but a bit more conscious of including Molly in the decision making. And I liked that the story includes a bit of drama to be solved but it always leaves a lot of space for the dirty talk and hot scenes.

Bray

This one has a nice cliffy. Plus I like how Bray is no nonsense and has to work extra hard to convince Katie she is the one. I was also glad that she was finally loved and taken care of. It felt very deserving. And of course the dirty and the sesy is never missing from these books.

This charming collection of insta-love cowboy romances introduces readers to the Wilder clan—a rambunctious ranch family with eight sons and one daughter. In this installment, we get the love stories of Trig, Colt, and Bray, each one delivering that signature Vanessa Vale blend of heat, heart, and small-town swoon.

Trig, the eldest, finds Ellie in the middle of a snowstorm—an encounter that feels fated from the first moment. Colt, the second youngest, meets Molly at a county fair rodeo, where sparks fly as fast as the bull rides. And Bray, who’s known Katie forever, discovers that sometimes the love right in front of you is the one meant to last.

Each couple faces their own hurdles, but the Wilder men are nothing if not steadfast, loyal, and irresistibly determined. These stories give all the cozy, quick-burn romance vibes, wrapped up in cowboy charm and family warmth.

I’m already excited to dive into the next set of Wilder sibling romances—this family is impossible not to love!

4.5 stars. These three novellas are interconnected standalone stories commencing a large family, small town romance series. They are well written, and sweet and steamy edging into spicy, with deep commitment from alpha male leads paired with strong female leads. I enjoyed the way subsequent stories picked up where the previous one left off. I enjoyed the variety of situations the female leads found themselves in, and the personal strength and resilience required to get them to this point. I enjoyed the determinedly supportive male leads, and chuckled at their persistence. I enjoyed the steamy/spicy intimate scenes, and the joy all parties found in them. I enjoyed the family support and the secondary characters. Whilst the stories have been released individually and each romance stands alone, I think they’re best read consecutively for maximum enjoyment.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

ARC Review

Cowboys of Devils Ditch
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trig
This was a very spicy cowboy series🌶

Ellie escapes her father and fiancee but ends up stranded in a snowstorm.
Trig and Beau found her in the snow and took her in.

Trig is a HOT cowboy, and he knows what he wants. One look at Ellie, and he was set. She was his.

Colt

Well, that took an unexpected turn!
Molly was running from her problematic sister when she ran into Colt. But when she thought he stood her up, she tried to forget him.
When they meet again years later, the instant spark is still there.
But can she figure out what to do with her sister so she doesn't ruin anything else?

I'm absolutely loving the Wilder family. They all love hard and never let go

Bray

Katie, you should know better than to ask a handsome cowboy to fake being your boyfriend and expect it to stay fake

After years of knowing Katie, Bray finally opened his eyes and saw her for the beauty she is.

Ma!!!!! Omg I need the next books!

The Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch is books 1-3 by Vanessa Vale 4.5 stars

This book is about the first three Wilder brothers, Trig, Colt and Bray. First up is Trig and Ellie who meet when she gets stranded in a blizzard, trying to escape her father’s clutches, he rescues her and falls hard. Next is Colt and Missy, he found his one then lost her….he needs to talk to the ER doctor/coroner about a case and comes face to face with the one he lost and is determine to keep her this time. Last in this book is Bray and Katie his sister’s best friend, who is holding multiple jobs since her grandparents passed to make ends meet. When a patron at the bar she is working at gets a bit handsy she turns to Bray for help…these men are alpha protectors, fall hard and fast and will do whatever it takes to win the hearts and love of these amazing women!

I voluntarily read a copy of this book from Valentine PR. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I was lucky enough to get a copy of the Cowboys of Devil’s Ditch Books 1-3 from Greys Promotions and knew it was the perfect kick in the butt to get started on this series. I absolutely love Vanessa’s books and I always want to devour them the second that I possibly can.

The first 3 books are about Trig, Colt and Bray. 3 of the Wilder brothers.

Trig - the oldest Wilder brother. He finds a woman in a snowstorm, and the second he sees her he knows she’s his. Ellie is much younger, and in quite the predicament, but none of that stops Trig.

Colt - the sheriff of Devil’s Ditch. Molly is the newest ER doctor and medical examiner. And they have a past.

Bray - the town farrier. Katie is Bray’s younger sister’s best friend. When she needs protection from a handsy bar guest, Bray is her savior.

I’m not always an instalove fan, but Vanessa writes them so well! It’s going to be impossible to choose a favorite Wilder sibling.

The first three stories in the Cowboys of Devil's Ditch series. Note: each story ends on a HFN as the over-reaching ARC will not be resolved until all 9 of the siblings have fallen for their love. Put aside reality and enjoy the simple storytelling.

Trig - This is a very short insta-love/age-gap/close proximity story featuring Trig and Ellie. She is on the run from an untenable situation and he is the one to provide the solution.

Colt - This is a very short insta-love/previous ghosted/family drama story featuring Colt and Molly. She is on the run from an abusive sister who has no conscience and he is the one able to provide protection.

Bray - This is a very short insta-love/best friends brother/fake boyfriend story featuring Katie and Bray. She is on the edge of financial ruin and he is able to stand up to her bully and show just how a woman should be treated.
