Prince Boschild of Liechtenstein. A man chosen by the emperor himself to maintain order in this small principality. However, the Empire's glorious ruler clearly underestimated Boschild's greed and ambition.
Before I, Theodore the Babylonian, arrived in Liechtenstein, things had been plain sailing for the prince. He'd just carried on taking care of state matters, not forgetting to take care of himself in the process. What's more, he'd been bringing our enemies' long-term plans to fruition as he did so, which would have ended...very badly indeed. Both for the principality and for the Empire.
But Liechtenstein's citizens now have me to protect them, and I won't let anyone harm them.
this review is off of the arc that I received. the author clearly knows nothing about combat. every attack is in a column it seems. at least aircraft fell out of sky when they were attacked though. they take a super artillery piece about the size of a train car probably since it can attack anywhere in Europe, the MC is so strong that he is able to redesign it to where it's Man portable. this is purely ridiculous. him and two other characters attack the base where this artillery piece is and they fight hundreds of troops because you're not going to have something like that lightly guarded not once but twice with absolutely no problems no wounds. that is one of the biggest problems I have with this series is none of his people ever seem to get hurt. this super cannon hit the building he was in and the building didn't drop until after he was safe, but he fires it in one Palace and it leaves a freaking crater. I also can't get over the overabundance of really stupid nicknames that everybody has. I mean it's gotten ridiculous you've got bumblebee running around. didn't know the transformers had landed. no granted I do enjoy the overall story I've had a lot of fun with it. I do miss the days where he was restoring items of historical significance. too busy with Kingdom building now, but he's so powerful that he can do anything and that kind of just sucks. meaning that he doesn't really seem to have to actually struggle for anything.
5/10 I just I guess I expect too much from a story maybe.
This book is very action packed and describes the events of four major military conflicts. The conflict with Boschield increases massively and an intrigue from the imperial administration involving his parents opens an interesting new plot line.
It has to be stated that the MC has become really op at a super convenient time for him. Everything only happpens once he is ready and well prepared for it, be it by outstanding military innovations, creating sufficient amounts of essential military equipment, forging new alliances or recent massive power ups. The amount of plot armor is absolutely ridiculous and makes the MC feel like a demi god.
Criticism and comments
The author seems to have an obsession with military zeppelins and air force as this is his third series where the MC plans to build an air force prematurely all of a sudden.. The location makes the idea even funnier as he would suffer from the same problem as the Swiss- they have a huge modern air force that they hardly can use as they would almost immediately leave their own air space #rofl#.
The amount of people kiled by the MC's faction in this book are enough to populate a small city...
I still don't get Aristarch's former "cunning plan".. #longlivebaldric!"
I received a review copy of this book. The Order of Architects book 7 has a great deal of story progression in it, though the characters don't really progress hardly at all. There's plenty of battling, lots of ruined plans (on both sides), and a whole lot of (trying) to kill the main character. If you've been reading this series, I don't think it's a spoiler to say they failed at that. Great addition to the storyline, though I'm beginning to wonder whether this story can be classified as LitRPG, since there's next to nothing in the books that can qualify as such, but nonetheless, the story is a good one, and LitRPG questions aside, fans of this series won't be disappointed by this addition to the story line.
Still has to take care of any of any of his enemies
Talked about them. damage some of them barely, got attacked a lot but hasn't taken out any of them. It's all about doing it the right way, make an example or some other kinds of s***. Hopefully in the next one he finally takes care of some enemies. Oh and that one guy dying towards the end seems more like a waste of a character maybe not though I'm not sure
The book, at first started a bit slow the Austria-Hungary conflict with Theodore continued. Then, some upfront and personal conflicts ensued! Moreover The Prince tried and tried to.. guess what he tried! Theodore is a wonder. The end of the book came much too quickly. I am dying to read more. Really good read.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.
This series is so clever in the magic system and the dark forces mixed with greed, corruption, and power grabs. The magic of the main character is fresh with a multitude of advantages.
As always a well thought out addition to this great series. Maybe its me, but this one went by to fast. Great series, great author, and fantastic translation.
